The Motor Of The Automobile
The automobile has been an extremely prominent part of today s society. It is a necessity among
the worlds population to own a car or have access to one because they help meet the peoples
demands. The automobile provides a huge freedom of mobility for the people because without this
incredible machine many everyday events could not be possible. The electric carwas born and built
in the late 1800 s by William Morrison of Des Moines, Iowa. Morrison was always considered a
wiz kid of the battery and was always interested in the chemistry of a storage battery and behind
how it worked as a young man. The electric car from its birth to present day has evolved greatly. At

The gasoline powered automobiles/modern day engine was born in the mid to late 1800 s by
Gottlieb Daimler of Germany. He invented the first modern day direct injection gasoline engine,
and later that year invented the first four wheeled gasoline powered automobile. In 1908 Henry
Ford released the first mass produced gas powered automobile, the Model T. The Model T
production run was the longest of any automobile model in history until 1972. The Model T was
originally portrayed to be a farmer s car that served the transportation needs of a farmer. Its
popularity declined as the country urbanized and as rural regions improved. Even after mass
urbanization, the Model T remained unchanged long after it was technologically outdated. Model
T owners began to upgrade to larger, faster, smoother riding, and more stylish cars. Originally,
gasoline automobiles ran on leaded gasoline to reduce knocking as well as other sounds within
engines. Because of the harmful effects that leaded gasoline possesses such as environmental
problems, effects on peoples health, and its negative effects on engines, it was ruled out in 1974
and was switched to unleaded gasoline. Today gasoline powered cars are manufactured with
different engine powers. A car today is usually produced with a cylindered engine. The more
cylinders an engine posses the faster it can pump fuel into the

Interviewer On The School And My Parents Essay
I think she meant if you wanted to go to that school, you pick that school first or third. I think
that is what she meant, but I don t know; that s all I got. Interviewer:So, like she said it hard
maybe picking the school or actually being at the school? Interviewee:Picking the school.
Interviewer:That s understandable. You said you looked at the directory, what about when you
were at the fair, what did you do there? Interviewee:I picked the information from the school and
my parents were there too, so it was really hard because there were so many schools that I really
like. Some of those schools in the directory were really good too, so it was kind of cool, but it
was hard. Interviewer:To narrow down? Interviewee:Yeah, because there were maybe 100
schools that I had in mind in the book, so I had to narrow it down to 12. Interviewer:Would you
say that you first looked up the schools in the book and then when you went to the open house
you found more or was it more that you looked at the school and the open house together?
Interviewee:Some of the schools didn t have an open house. I did look at the open house and the
book; it wasn t really hard, because some of the schools I really liked and some I didn t. It was
easy finding the schools and everything. Interviewer:Were you able to attend any open houses in
addition to the fair? Interviewee:Yeah. Interviewer:How many would you say that you were able to
go to? Interviewee:Maybe four. Interviewer:

The Go Between and Spies
THE MAIN CHARACTERS IN THE GO BETWEEN AND SPIES ARE SOCIALLY
OPRRESSED ARE SOCIALLY OPPRESSSED How far do you agree with this statement?
Social Oppression is a main theme explored throughout the two tragic novels, The Go Between
and Spies. Throughout the novels, L.P. Hartley and Michael Frayn successfully convey the idea,
through the use of their main characters, the effects of social oppression and class divide. Using
many techniques they show how class and oppression had power over the people of the Victorian
era. And even after the turn of the century, People were still trapped in the shadows of the past era.
Both novels are told as flashbacks taking us through the lives of two main protagonists. The climax
of both novels lead to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike Leo, Stephen s low class was known to everyone and he couldn t even dare to keep it a
secret. He was the other ranks and unlike Leo, although he felt the class difference he was still
grateful to be so . He went to a different school completely from Keith with uniforms socially
coded for ease of reference . He lived in a semi detached house attached to the pinchers making
the whole situation even more shameful . While his friend Keith lived in a house with white
wicket gates with a neat red brick path that curves through rose beds . He felt like he wasn t even
worthy of the Hayward s as he says The Hayward s were impeccable and yet they tolerated him
and Mrs Hayward s incomprehensible niceness . Stephen like Leo, has the colour green
associated with them as Stephen admits everything about me was plainly green . Stephen didn t
dare to go against Keith s orders as Keith was the leader and he was the led . Stephen s feeling of
social inferiority to Keith allows Keith to dominate and intimidate Keith s life as Stephen sees
Keith as the first in a whole series of dominant figures whose disciple I became . Stephen sees
himself as the undersized boy with the teapot ears following his powerful friend open mouthed and
credulous . Stephen is much more different from Leo as

Comparing The Stereotypes Of Dwarves And Little People
Media representations are the way in which the media portrays particular groups, communities,
ideas or topics from a particular perspective. Some media representations may seem realistic but
they have just been constructed to seem that way for a particular audience and purpose. It is a
selective version of reality and not necessarily accurate or complete. Representations are useful
for conveying complex thoughts and emotions. Dwarves are a good group to investigate because
these people can be portrayed by the media in multiple ways because dwarves can be shown as
fantasy creatures that don t exist in society. They can also be shown as normal people that live
normal lives like everybody else. Dwarves/ Little People are commonly represented

Example Of Legitimate Power
Legitimate Power is a person s role in the organization and can be thought of as one s formal
authority(Raven, 1992). A person holds legitimate power if other accept his or her authority to tell
them what to do (Rainey, 2014) p.177. According to French and Raven, Legitimate power is the
most complex powerand has three bases: cultural values, acceptance of social structure and
designation. Because of the leaders are appointed officially, legitimate power can also be called as
positional power or official power(Raven, 1992). Peopleused to obey more easily if someone who
is in charge, asks to do them something. Legitimate power in a formal organization used to be a
relationship between offices rather than persons(French et al., 1959). As interpersonal... Show more

It is based on leader s experience, skill, talents in specific subjects and issues. An example of
expert power is: getting legal advice from attorneys or consulting with therapist over medical
care route. Expert power is not always related to people s education, positions or titles. Most of
the time, experience is more important for expert power than knowledge, academic education or
titles. Sometime it can base on less knowledge, such as people let less educated native villager to
lead directions they want to go in the area he is expert (French et al., 1959). It means, everyone
who has expert power or skills in his or her field, is able to convince his or her followers to trust
him (Petress, Ken 2003). According to Raven, the use of expert power will be likely more if it is
needed for achievements. For people, it is the most preferable one among other powers, as it can
provide assistances for getting promotion, gaining respect and self confidence, being admirable
person among co workers and trusted, and so on. But it can also be dangerous when people, who
are expert in specific fields, intend to use their power illegally or in bad ways. For example,
attempts to commit illegal actions via internet over less expert people by using skills and
knowledge in computer and

Hester And Dimmesdale s Shame
Hawthorne artfully demonstrates the difference between external and internal portrayals of shame
and the consequences of both, by using the characters of Hester Prynne and the Reverend Arthur
Dimmesdale. By examining Hester and Dimmesdale s way of dealing with the repercussions of
their indiscretion and analyzing Benjamin Kilborne s critique Shame Conflicts and Tragedies in
The Scarlet Letter, one can see if, or by what measure, if either Hester s or Dimmesdale s shame is
worse than the other. I believe Dimmesdale s internal battle with his shame is far worse than Hester
s outward shame because it is unbearable, as mentioned by Kilborne.
An interesting idea brought up by Kilborne is how both Hester and Dimmesdale personify their
sin. He questions why Dimmesdale is forced into seclusion from shame as it reaches to the
depths of his soul if Hester is able to embrace her sin and shame and hold them up as realities.
Before looking at this more closely, the way people perceive shame is an important factor.
Kilborne mentions, In this context, shame can be a fundamental reaction to (and a defense against)
wrong feelings, or being helpless in the face of the intensity of feelings, or being flooded by feelings
one cannot understand. In addition to these shameful ego ideal conflicts, the fear of the intensity of
feelings itself generates shame, which then produces defenses against shame as an affect whose
intensity is threatening.

A Great Leader In Sophocles Oedipus The King
John Maxwell once said: A great leader s courage to fulfill his vision comes from passion, not
position. This quote explains that anyone can be a leader with or without having a highly
position, as long as he or she does it with devotion. According to Amy Rees Anderson from
Forbes, a true leader knows who they are and what they stand for. They know their values and the
rules they will abide by, regardless of the circumstances they face. Oedipus, the protagonist of
SophoclesOedipus Rex, is clearly a good leader.
Oedipus has been a good leader to Thebes for many years even though he sometimes can be a bit
conceited. When Thebans go visit Oedipus to ask for help since they are experiencing a deadly
plague, he says: Each of you suffers in

Stoicism in The Dreamer of the Rood Essay
The Dream of the Rood uses stoicism to promise reward for suffering where Christ and the cross
are linked, yet paralleled with the dreamer in that he joins in the comitatus of Christ through the
cross therefor gaining redemption and eternal life and home in heaven. Christ himself though does
not serve the same role as he does in biblical texts, here he is brave and stoic, like a great warrior.
The Dream of the Rood presents us with the warrior who is Jesus. This Jesus is not the more
passive character that modern religion embraces, but behaves as an Anglo Saxon warrior as he
boldly runs to the cross for personal honor. Whereas his ascension is described as he sent forth his
spirit (49) rather than gave up his spirit in the Bible, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cross, once plain wood, is now exalted over all forest tress (91) and risen to the status of a
lord. The Dreamer is seeing for himself the validity of Christ s claims of rewarding his faithful
servants. So the Cross, it seems, is now further gift giving and reciprocating by telling the
Dreamer that he has been given a gift by Christ, who died for his sins. The Dreamer interprets
the telling of this story by the Cross as a gift, and so in return for this gift that the Cross has
given him, the Dreamer tells the story of his dream to others in order to tell the tale and let
others know of this great gift that was given to all of humanity by Christ. Its resplendence in its
appearance to the dreamer is testament to the validity of its sacrifice in going against traditional
Germanic servitude, which is important to addressing the comingling of cultures in The Dream
of the Rood. This is certainly not heroism and faithful retainership as the Anglo Saxons were used
to it, but the Dreamer s vision of the Cross in all its glory gives credence to Christ as a lord and gift
giver.
The portrayal of Christ as a warrior fighting for his people in Dream of the Rood is a very powerful
picture of a hero and savior. Christ is described here as a young hero, a warrior fighting to save
his people. Christ and the tree are drenched in blood, covered with markings, and yet they stand
strong and have courage. This is truly the mark of a hero in Anglo Saxon

Buddhist and Hindu Temples Essay
Hindu and Buddhist cultures are both rich in religion and expressing their faith through art. The
Buddhist culture was formed by Buddha who went out to discover the causes of pain and
suffering. Once Buddha realized what the cause was, he provided a set of four guiding principles
know as the Four Noble Truths that are exercised in Buddhism(Kleiner, p. 13). The Four Noble
truths are Life is suffering, the cause of suffering is desire, one can overcome and extinguish desire,
the way to conquer desire and end suffering is to follow Buddha s Eightfold Path... (p. 13). These
truths are expressed in the following of Buddhism and commonly carried out through art. Buddhism

The stone fence surrounds the whole stopa to restrict the outside world from the sacred burial
mound. The dome shape of the stopa represents the mountain of the world. The toranas are large
stone pillars that are placed in the cardinal points of the stone fence, north, east, south, and west.
Directly on top of the stupa sits the harmika. This harmika is a rectangle shape stone fence that
represents an area of the gods. In the center of this harmika extends the yasti, a pole like structure
protruding towards the universe representing the axis of the universe. There are three chatras that
are pierced through the yasti. The chatras are stone discs that represent the union of the earth and
the heavenly paradise (Kleiner, p. 15). The stupas are walked around in a clockwise manner by
Buddhists because that is the same movement of the earth around the sun. This is known as
circumambulation. The theory of circumambulation is that it brings the devotee into harmony with
the cosmos (p. 15). This is the standard blueprint to which all stupas are constructed, thus allowing
the Buddhists to circumambulate the structure. The Great Stupa of Sanchi is located in Sanchi,
which lies in central India. The Great Stupa follows the same basic structure blueprinted for all
stupas. What makes this one so unique is that it stands fifty feet high and has two different levels
that are designed to be circumambulated. There are four gates that the Buddhists enter

Why Is Honesty Important
Why Is Honesty Important? The Impact of Honesty on Me Honesty has played a key role in my
success in life. Throughout my childhood my parents would always remind me about the
importance of being honest. In their opinion nothing was as important as having self respect and

people should interact with each other. For me, being honest in everything I do can be a very
difficult thing, but I have found that as I follow this basic principle my life has become better for

Summary Of Yuma Buck And Nude Squaw By Henry Buehman
The piece Yuma Buck and Nude Squaw by Henry Buehman taken place in the Tucson Arizona
Territory in the 1870s is a visual representation of colonialism within the 70s. Because Buehman
was a white man and an outsider looking into the Indian community that he studied, audiences are
easily able to see the informed accents of colonialism in his work. This photo in particular
represents the the concept of the colonial gaze quite well. By definition the colonial gaze is how
westerners and non westerners see Indigenous people. The individuals within the photo look as if
they have a lot of disinterest in the photoshoot, which is what Buehman may have been hoping for.
Because they are not smiling or in a confident pose it is almost as if Buehman is intentionally trying

In the photo it is as if he uses the woman to represent what the Europeans see in Indigenous people
such as savage, uncivilized, and dirty, and on the other hand he dresses the man in more of a
European outfit of choice with the black vest and shirt and pants. He still somewhat represents a
dirtier side of the man aswell because he is not wearing any shoes, but because his clothing presents
European culture it is almost as if he is more powerful in the photo. Buehman seems to be playing
with power in this photo as well as he dresses what looks to be the woman on the right as
vulnerable by showering her breasts and wearing a skirt where as the man is dressed more
formally. At the same time he represents a kind of resistance to colonialism by wanting to dress a
man in clothes similar to his, and showing that he can look good in those

Feedback tools need to be developed to increase the effectiveness of management and increase
management s accountability for their team s performance. Lastly, managers should remember the
golden rule in that they should treat Cast Members how they would want them to treat Guests. In
doing so, Disney will be striving to create a magical experience not only for its valued guests, but
also for the people that make it happen, the Cast.
Disney s Guest Expectations

Much of what differentiates Disney Theme Parks from their competitors is their ability to fully

pushed to the wayside. The core to the success of Disney Theme Parks is an outstanding
commitment to guest service and the Cast Member s ability and freedom to do whatever possible
to make sure the guest s stay is a positive and memorable one. This has become the expectation of
Disney guests, as well as the expectation of the organization as a whole. This expectation is difficult

Harmonic Compensation by PV-STATCOM
For emolument of current harmonics (if any), the instantaneous resoluteness of different active
and reactive powers is utilized the active and reactive powers are computed utilizing p q theory.
No restrictions are imposed on the voltage or current wave forms, and it can be applied to three
phase systems with or without a neutral wire for three phase generic voltage and current wave
forms. Thus, it is valid not only in steady state, but withal in transient states. The p q Theory first
transforms voltages and currents from the a b c to О± ОІ o coordinates, and then defines
instantaneous power on these coordinates. Hence, this theory always considers the three phase
system as a unit, not a superposition or sum of three single phase circuits. The p q Theory utilizes
the О± ОІ o transformation, additionally kenned as the Clarke transformation, which consists of an
authentic matrix that transforms three phase voltages and currents into the О± ОІ o stationary
reference frames, given by: [в–€(V_0@V_О±@V_О

The Royal Forest And Bird Protection Society Essay
Introduction
New Zealanders take their environment very seriously. From their native birds (Kiwi, Takahe) to
their habitats (Marine, Forests). Non profit organisations have been trying for years with the
government and the community, to preserve and return the New Zealand environment to what it
was before it was touched. Before man or mammal was introduced to New Zealand, it was a haven
for birds and reptiles with no mammal predators. Now man and mammal have driven natives to
almost extinction. It is important that the government, community and local groups work together
to preserve the environment. In this report we will look at the different organisations in New
Zealand that look after the environment, the cultural influences that impact on these organisations.
We will then address the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society and what they do and what they
have done. Then we will look at why it s important that the community is involved in conservation
management.
What is a Non Profit Organisation in New Zealand and what Cultural Influences do they have?
What is a non profit organisation?
A non profit organisation is defined by five different standards.
1) Private this means that it is separate from the government institutionally.
2) Voluntary this means that the organisation must have a degree of voluntary participation. This
can be in either operation or management.
3) Non Profit distributing Not making a profit for their owners but rather putting the funds

Arianism In Jehovah s Witnesses
There are countless views of the person of Christ that reject, whether intentionally or not, the full
deity of the Son. One of these views is known as Arianism, which, according to Erickson, states that
The Father alone is uncreated and eternal. The Word is therefore a created being, although the first
and highest of the beings (2015, 243). This view, which is especially prevalent within the belief
system of Jehovah s Witnesses, essentially claims that although JesusChrist shares traits with God
the Father, He is not one with the Father and therefore, not God Himself (Ibid.). To support this
claim, Arians derive the ideas that Jesus is inferior to the Father and from passages such as John
14:28, where Jesus says, The Father is Greater than

this suite soon due to their request that they made Moseby said earlier begins to panic. They would

Network File System was designed so that users could transparently and remotely access files on
the network in the same way as if the file was on the local disk. It can be easily ported to various
operating systems and architectures. Description of protocols in machines and systems is done in

Live Session Comparison With Your Experience In A...
Paragraph #1
How did your learning in this live session compare with your experience in learning on your own
in the course or in a traditional classroom? I believe that the learning in this live lesson is very
similar to that of a traditional classroom. I also feel that the environment is better in many ways,
for example nobody is causing a distraction because we are all working from our own separate
work spaces. I also feel that the live lesson offers a better environment and way for things to get
done quicker than a regular classroom.
Describe your comfort level in participating in the collaboration activity. My comfort level on a
scale of 1 10. Is 10, I have been to so many live lessons through my years at FLVS. Now it is very
easy to figure out what I have to do and how to do it.

I already know, when asked or when the time is presented. But we are all receivers, because we

How did the use of technology affect your learning experience during the session? The use of
technology definitely affected my learning experience. Because without it none of us would be
able to participate in the live lesson. But it also offered us so many different tools, such as the
ability to talk with each other, to type, to draw. So many different things are

The Abortion Debate
The U.S government considers unborn babies human beings and by having an abortion the mother
is killing an innocent human being. Abortion is murder ( Abortion ProCon.org ). Abortion is the
deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. Simply, the mother undergoes a procedure to kill her
child. Even though some may argue that abortionis a woman s choice, studies have shown that
abortion shows harm to both the mother and the child. Being pregnant, one has options, aborting
the baby is not the only solution ( Abortion Information | What are your options ). In January of
2014, House of Representative, Randy Hultgren, stated that abortion promotes a culture in which
human life is disposable ( Abortion ProCon.org ). By aborting the babies,

Building And Evaluating Experiential Learning Mechanisms
Building and evaluating experiential learning mechanisms requires a deep understanding of not
only general learning theory, but also the principal ways in which material can be taught to
students. According to authors of Effective Instruction for Stem Disciplines: From Learning Theory
to College Teaching, there are numerous traditional learningmethods that are important for our
background. The first, which they call study based, is based on student focus on materials, without
a strong active component. For most students, especially those of younger ages, this likely occurs
most at home, where students independently study for traditional examinations. The second
traditional learning method, retrieval, they describe as the conversion of study based learning into
an active learning method. Retrieval encourages students to practice accessing information to make
it so regular that using it in later informational synthesis is already simple. The third traditional
learning method, which they call schema building, is learning based on situational practice,
ensuring that students can appropriate handle the real life aspects and applications of a concept
(Mastascusa et al., 2011).
Unfortunately, these traditional methods of learning are not always indicative of modern, dynamic
education. More modern learning techniques provide students with a far more interactive
experience. In one such method, students combine the first and third aforementioned traditional
study methods. Students

The Truth About Kennedy s Assassination
The Truth About Kennedy s Assassination
There needs to be more explaining and evidence on about President Kennedy s assassination
because what the government says is nonsense and doesn t line up. The government says it was
Oswald, but how could that be he had a wife and kids, so why would he want to go away from
them and go to prison? There s things that the government has concealed from the public. Just
something seems to be off about the government s explanation. I m going to try to give an
explanation for what seems to be the truth due to the information I found in the article The JFK
Assassination .
See, here s what I think is that Oswald was a part of a larger conspiracy than we know, but in this
conspiracy he is innocent. Also instead of Oswald it was the government, a bar owner(Jack
Ruby), and the mob did it because how would someone be calm and have no sweat if he did shoot
Kennedy? In addition, be on the 6th floor, then get on the 4th floor in ninety seconds and still have
regular breathing?
Now you might be saying, What why would they have? . There s an explanation which is that the
government didn t like Kennedy. I think this because he made the mob angry and the government
didn t like that he did. Now Jack Ruby had connections to police and they work for the ... Show

You might agree, disagree, or even be more confused than before. Either way I just had to take
my freedom of speech to make this assassination more into reality unlike the government. This is
my explanation and this should be clearing up some of the questions or maybe leaves us with
more questions. I even still have a few questions, but my main question is if my theory is correct
that they government was involved, then why didn t they just kill him along time before if they
did want him dead? I also can answer my question which is that they wanted the right time, in front
of a huge crowd to keep it a mystery to everyone

Differences Between Of Mice And Men
Of Mice and Men Movie Review I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you.
The movie Of Mice and Men, directed by Gary Sinise in 1992, showed what life was like in rural
America during the Great Depression. The movie also showed how people feel loneliness and
alienated because they aren t accepted for their differences. Horton Foote, the screenwriter, did an
exceptional job of writing a script that was very similar to the book. The movie didn t take
anything away from John Steinbecks classic novel written fifty five years earlier. Although those
sections of the movie were nicely done, the setting and and acting of the movie occasionally
lacked believability. Of Mice and Men took place in the 1930s. George Milton and

Argumentative Essay On The Black Mirror
The stand alone series Black Mirror , features an episode titled Nosedive directed by Joe Wright.
In the show, a seemingly ideal woman named Lacie Pound lives in a status obsessed world, and
struggles to express herself. At first, Lacie is described as this merry, popular, and fun person to
be around. But then we see that Lacie tries to fit in with everybody else, and struggles with that
objective. So she begins to have courage in herself to say and do whatever she wants, even if
society disagrees with her defiance. In the end, Lacie is finally able to find her voice and express
her individuality, even though ultimately she is put behind bars. Therefore, Joe Wrightsuggests that
even though social hierarchy is valued in society, it does not promote one s self expression or
individuality. In other words, Nosedive displays the negative impact of social standings on people
who are not a true fit with what society views as perfect.
At the start of the episode, we take a glimpse of where Lacie lives. The beautiful topiary of the
trees, clean roads and sidewalks, all picture perfect. The scene later changes to Lacie interacting
with her brother Ryan, who is described as an apathetic gamer that consumes himself in his game
instead of his social status. Lacie s relationship with Ryan is a seemingly normal brother sister
correlation, sometimes bitterness and harsh words, but they also care for one another. She does
seem like the ideal sister and even an ideal person to be

Essay about Fine Quality Baroque Music in the Era of...
Baroque music is the western music art style that was composed in the era of Renaissance, that is,
between 1600 and 1750. Music at any given period reflects tendencies, impulses and influences that
are found in art of other kinds of the same period. Therefore the name baroque also applied to the
architecture, literature and art in the same period. Baroquehas in the past and to some degree in the
present had the implications of abnormality, grotesqueness and absurdity. But in its applications to
musicin the Renaissance period the term baroque does not have connotations that are pejorative
because much of the music composed in this period is of high and fine quality (Swain, 7).

The performer however should be guided by some factors that help them know what instrument to
use where and what sound to get from what instrument (Donington, 131).
One, the performer should be able to distinguish indications that are scanty for the instruments that
the notations may be showing. In that all the instruments that the performer is using fit in the kind
of that they are playing. They should also look out for the effects of the musician that may need
working on for the actual performance (Donington, 131).
Two, as much as it is the responsibility of the performer to choose the instruments, looking up for
alternative instruments that are listed is important. That way, if there is an instrument that is
missing, the performer should always be able to get an alternative. This also suitable when the there
are many instruments needed, the alternative instruments can be used interchangeably (Donington,
131).
Three, the notion that instruments that are suitable are acceptable may not always work. A
performer should understand that every instrument is made for a specific use and should be the
only use it must be put to. That is, it would be impossible to use an instrument and try to make it
sound in a particular way. The distinctions were made in the baroque era as much as they do now
(Donington, 131). Every instrument in baroque music should be used to what it really is designed
to, this is to make sure that the sound of

when that knowledgeis lost, people will retain a certain understandingof the world before they

The second source provides great insight on Guillermo del Toro s Pan Labyrinth (2006). The
author analyzes the historical aspect of the movie, regarding the Spanish civil war, emergence of
the Nationalist regime, and the aftermath of the collapse of the Republicans. What s interesting
about this Alvaro s analyzation is his belief that the movie mainly focuses on the aftermath of the
war a situation many have forgotten or fail to bring up. The movie makes the war appear as if it s

He covers how the camera work and history help build and reinforce the themes in Children of

relatively calm reaction to the violent bombing that takes place. This leads to my argument on
the influence that refugees and immigrants play in the film, as well silently referencing the
tragic to 9/11 bombing. The frequent reference to them throughout the movie; being killed and
violently contained behind fences and held in cages, address the familiarity of the worldwide
problem of immigration. The fear of immigrants in the name of national security, is also evident
in the film; even showing a Homeland Security banner later in the film. In the period of this
movie, violence is not only enforced and upheld, it s ignored. Alfanso s analysis brought up
character development, specifically Theo s dependence, which I had not even considered prior to

Subcultures of violence are mostly described by its norms, identifiable values or shared views for

entirely different from a larger culture to which they re surrounded. On the other hand, the

Jack Welch s Transformation Case Study
When first looking at this article it is hard to pinpoint exactly what the core problem would be,
because the case study looks at the transformation created by Jack Welch over two decades. The
case study explains the changes made overtime that made the company become what it was by the
end of the two decade transformation. That leads readers to look at what could have had the most
impact on the company, and for this particular case study the impact came from the drastic changes
made by Welch when he became CEO in 1981. While the changewas not terrible there are ways to
handle it better from the beginning instead of trying to fix it in the end. According to Ken and Scott
Blanchard s article about the best ways to bring change into a company there are six steps:

success, and give your next change initiative its best chance (Blanchard, 2013).
Using the information given from the article written by Ken and Scott Blanchard, the change set in
place by Jack Welch did not follow all of these rules. For instance, the step of breaking down
communication. The article explains this portion as sharing what the change is as plainly and

should be willing to get personal. According to the article, once information concerns are satisfied,

Biometric Technology in Verifying a Person s Identity Essay
1. Introduction
The process of verifying a person s identity, also called authentication, plays an important role in
various areas of everyday life. Any situation with user interaction where the identity is required
needs a means to verify the claimed identity. One of the more obvious and commonly known
application areas for identity verifying technologies, i.e. authentication, is the Logical Access
Control to computer systems, where authenticity is normally established by confirming aclaimed
identity with a secret password or PIN code.Traditional methods of confirming the identity of an
unknown person rely either upon some secret knowledge (such as a PIN or password) or upon an
object the person possesses (such as a key or card). But ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is based on Local Binary Patterns (LBP) features [3], which have shown to be a powerful and
computationally efficient feature extractor. Then Chi square based classification method is used for
Authentication. The algorithm constitutes engine of a new face authentication for incoming call
application. It restrictsuser to receive call unless proposed entity s face is not verified with
registered entity s face image. The implementation is made for the Google Android platform, using
OpenCV libraries for image processing. It is important to take into account that all the processing is
done in the mobile domain, without the need of any external computation. Figure 1.Flow Chart for
Authentication on Incoming Call
An authentication method based on face recognition is designed for restricting access of
incoming call for un authorized entity. It will take the image of person (who wants to be
registered as an authorized entity) during the registration process, once the registration is
complete, it will monitor the entity while call receiving. Therefore the user can not receive the
call unless the application will grant him as an authorized entity. For this purpose application has
to monitor the call status and as the call status goes to incoming call, application has to restrict the
receiving of call and take a photo of claimed entity by the same camera of mobile on which the call
is coming. Once the image is captured, it will go through the

Government In Healthcare
Governments should play a significant role in providing citizens with the basic requirements that
every individual is in need of. Having the government being involved in our economic issues is an
important stance. The government should ensure that citizens fundamental and crucial needs are
met, by helping them with healthcare, shelter and education.
A good healthcare should be an absolute right for all people and all ages. Positions, conditions or
economic situations should not dictate who lives and enjoys good health or who doesn t.
Healthcare should be provided by the government for people who cannot afford it. 2009 studies
from Harvard researchers show that More than 13,000 deaths occur each year just in the 55 64
year old age group, due to lack of health insurance coverage. The United States of America is an
example of a poor and private healthcare system meaning citizens of the U.S.A. have to pay full
prices for their health. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Globe and Mail, Thirty five thousand people in Canada experience some form of
homelessness every day, and 235,000 people a year. (Alex Himelfarb and Roy Romanow)

including domestic violence and sexual assault. (Edgar Sandoval, Dale W. Eisinger and Greg B.

Introduction To Invertebrate Palaeontology
In his book, Understanding fossils: an introduction to invertebrate palaeontology, Peter Doyle writes
this about the ongoing, and continuing formation of layers of the Earth:
The bodies of countless millions of organisms, microscopic and macroscopic, form whole rocks;
the invaders of the land, plants and animals, have helped shape the landscape by both accelerating
and reducing erosion.
Doyle gives an introduction to the beginnings of two scientific areas of study by explaining the
work of a Danish doctor. He explains that palaeontology has its roots in two subjects, geology and
biology. A Danish physician Niels Stensen, also known as Steno, who lived from 1638 1638, is
arguably credited with originating geology and paleontology. Discovering that sharks teeth found in
Tuscany rocks were identical to modern shark s teeth, Stensen ... Show more content on

The remains of plants and animals, are part of the strata, or layers of the earth. Several articles
discuss Phytoliths and their impact on the strata that have formed over time. A University of
Washington publication defines Phytoliths: Phytoliths are microscopic silica bodies that precipitate
in and around cells in many plants. When plant tissues decompose, the silica is deposited in the
soil, forming a record of past vegetation. They provide evidence of the plants found in the historic
layers of earth.
Work done previously by many scientists provides new information, generates new questions and
lays a foundation for continuing studies. Everything leaves a trail, or a history of itself, building
upon the history of the previous inhabitants on this planet. This makes me consider the impact I
have on the earth, my carbon footprint. I realize that I can have an impact on the history of our
planet by the choices I make. I hope my impact is positive, because I would like for the Earth to

Driving under the influence isn t something you see on a calendar or even a thought when people
are planning their day. In fact, it s something that isn t given much thought at all until there is a
negative outcome. Many of the ones caught driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol think
it is only their life that is affected. I have heard people say it s my life, what s the worst that can
happen? I get a DUI ? Well, it s not just their life that is affected by the results of driving under the

The Theme of Social Responsibility in Victorian England Essay
How does dickens explore the theme of social responsibility in
Victorian England?
Charles dickens wrote A Christmas Carol for a certain reason, and that reason was that he wanted
to make people aware of the terrible situation the children of the poor were in. He visited a school in
1843 and was appalled by what he saw there. It was a school for the poorest children to teach
them basic reading and writing skills. The children s employment commission had also shocked
him. At first dickens had the idea of writing a pamphlet called an appeal to the people of England
on behalf of the poor mans child but soon realised that seen as he was the most popular novelist of
the time people would take much more notice he wrote about the ... Show more content on

street sweepers attempt to keep the streets clean of manure. There were pickpockets, prostitutes,
drunks, beggars and vagabonds of every kind to add to the everyday life of
Victorian London.
Up until the second half of the 19th century people were still drinking water from the Thames in
which raw sewage flowed into, causing several outbursts of cholera along with the great stink of
1958, the disease and sewage in the drinking water made a link with
Dr. John to find that all the victims of the cholera outbreak was connected with the same water

Joseph Bazalgette, completed in 1875, which finally provided adequate sewers to serve the city.
A new law was put into place the new poor law enacted in 1834.
Before it had been burden of all the parishes to take care of the poor. The new law required that
all the parishes worked together to create regional workhouses where aid could be applied for. The
workhouse was little more than a prison for the poor.

Comparing Cloning, Cryonics, And Calorie Restriction
Since ancient times there has always been a debate in the field of philosophy of whether
individuals continue to live after death. Although many religions believe in the concept of
immortality . I believe that immortality could exist, because of cloning, cryonics, and Calorie
Restriction. For hundreds of years people have been attempting to preserve and prolong life, and
essentially become immortal. There are many new technologies in this time of scientific exploration
and advancement that claim to do these things. There are many methods that are currently being
studied as ways to either prolong life or to become immortal. All of these aspects take a different
approach to man s constant search for immortality. Immortality has primarily been... Show more

If death is an eternal oblivion then cryonics can offer an alternative and the probability, no
matter how unlikely, cryonics can offer a future. Cryonics is particularly popular among people
who want to be immortal . Cryonics is nothing more than an attempt of raising the dead making
them alive again. Actually the word cryonics is the practice of chilling a dead body at subzero
levels in the hopes of someday reviving it. Cryonics is the practice of cooling a person
immediately after death to the point where the molecular physical decay completely stops, and
the presumption is that scientific and medical procedures currently being created will be able to
revive them and restore them to good health later. A patient held in such a state is said to be in
cryonic suspension . There is reasons to believe that current cryonics procedures will preserve the
anatomical basis of the mind. Cryonics became more efficient with the implementation of
nanotechnology in it . The first mention of nanotech occurred in a speech given by Richard
Feynman in 1959. Historically cryonic experiments started in 1962 with the publication of the
prospect of immortality . The main idea of cryonics is that personality, identity, and memory are
going to be stored in cellular structures in the brain. There are many paths to immortality and it
seems that cryonics could be a path to do

Reasons For The Abolition Of The Slave Trade
APFWhy was the slave trade abolished in 1807? 16/11/17
As a slave you are property of your owner. Your owner controls where you work, how you work,
your living and eating. Slavery had been around for centuries but by the 1700 s attitudes were
beginning to change.
The slave trade was abolished in 1807, but you must keep in mind that it was only the trade of
slaves that was banned not slavery itself! The members of the Society for the Abolition of the Slave
Trade tactically decided to focus on a campaign to persuade Parliament to ban the trading in slaves.
This was because they felt they were more likely to succeed than if they demanded the abolition of
all slavery throughout the empire. They expected that the complete abolition would continue
naturally.
In economy the slave trade had become less important. There was no longer a need for large
numbers of slaves to be imported to the British colonies to work on sugar plantations because
there was a world over supply of sugar. This also meant that British merchants had difficulties re
exporting it. Also sugar could be cheaply bought without the use of slavery from Britain s other
colonies. For example, India.
The Industrial Revolutions that were happening in France and England and advances and
improvements in agriculture were benefiting the British economy and provided new sources of
wealth and more efficient production without the need for slaves. Especially as the government
began to realise the costs and dangers of the slave

Analysis Of Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter
Jalon Ellison
English 10
Mrs. Jackson
16 December 2015
A Sinner Defined by The Scarlet Letter
Society has not changed as far as labeling people and probably never will. In the Puritan society
they branded, tortured, and defined human beings the way they saw them even though they did not
know how the person they were humiliating truly was. Hester Prynne is a good example of this in
the novel The Scarlet Letter written by the author Nathaniel Hawthorne. Hawthorne is using the
character Hester in this novel to show how society can truly label people. People can be defined
by the biggest thing in their life and in this case the letter A has brought a whole new meaning to
Hester s life and has defined her apart from others in the community in a way she never thought.
The Puritan society never focuses on Hester, how she acts, who she talks to, or even what she
wears until she commits a sin. After the whole community knows of her sin then they know her as
the adulterer, the sinner, the one who should be punished but what they do not know is what kind
of a person she really is. Hester Prynne is kind, smart, and a beautiful woman who is trying to do
her best in life in the new world considering her husband left her and did not return until she is
brought upon the scaffold in front of the town for humiliation. The Puritan community is
continuously going by their rules and guidelines and not caring to look for the whole truth but just
enough truth to harm those who have done

Coordination Plan
3. Coordination Plan There is a multitude of reasons for an organization to have a business
continuity plan in place. The incident does not really matter whether it is natural or manmade
disaster/incident but if an incident occurs, it can have a disastrous effect causing the company
operation to become unstable and having the inability to contain or control its impact can halt the
business routine (Vacca, 2013).
Also, creating a good working relationship with the law enforcement can assist in aiding an
organization with an incident. Although organizations will sometimes not notify or include LE

employee, it can have a negative impact on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Use of advanced security information and event management solution is in place in order to capture
any anomaly or detect nefarious activities within the network (Abelar, 2014).
Other considerations to take to make sure that network intrusion is detected and/mitigated is by
constantly monitoring the network for any anomalies and having an alert/notification system. Alert
and notification system will allow for the organizations incident response team/plan to be activated
and take necessary steps to isolate the incident, contain, and take necessary action to resolve the
issue. Additionally, organization needs to have in depth defense security architecture to protect
their infrastructure. Administrative, technical, and physical security controls are only a few of
them that can be used to protect their asset. Administrative control can implement policy for
employees to take necessary training to help their infrastructure. Some of these training can include,

The toy section at Target had many clear differences in the toys for boys and the toys for girls.
The types of toys that were out on the shelves were different, but also the way the toys were

  • 2. The Motor Of The Automobile The automobile has been an extremely prominent part of today s society. It is a necessity among the worlds population to own a car or have access to one because they help meet the peoples demands. The automobile provides a huge freedom of mobility for the people because without this incredible machine many everyday events could not be possible. The electric carwas born and built in the late 1800 s by William Morrison of Des Moines, Iowa. Morrison was always considered a wiz kid of the battery and was always interested in the chemistry of a storage battery and behind how it worked as a young man. The gasoline powered automobiles/modern day engine was born in the mid to late 1800 s by Gottlieb Daimler of Germany. He invented the first modern day direct injection gasoline engine, and later that year invented the first four wheeled gasoline powered automobile. In 1908 Henry Ford released the first mass produced gas powered automobile, the Model T. The Model T production run was the longest of any automobile model in history until 1972. The Model T was originally portrayed to be a farmer s car that served the transportation needs of a farmer. Its popularity declined as the country urbanized and as rural regions improved. Even after mass urbanization, the Model T remained unchanged long after it was technologically outdated. Model T owners began to upgrade to larger, faster, smoother riding, and more stylish cars. Originally, gasoline automobiles ran on leaded gasoline to reduce knocking as well as other sounds within engines. Because of the harmful effects that leaded gasoline possesses such as environmental problems, effects on peoples health, and its negative effects on engines, it was ruled out in 1974 and was switched to unleaded gasoline. Today gasoline powered cars are manufactured with different engine powers. A car today is usually produced with a cylindered engine. The more cylinders an engine posses the faster it can pump fuel into the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I think that is what she meant, but I don t know; that s all I got. Interviewer:So, like she said it hard maybe picking the school or actually being at the school? Interviewee:Picking the school. Interviewer:That s understandable. You said you looked at the directory, what about when you were at the fair, what did you do there? Interviewee:I picked the information from the school and my parents were there too, so it was really hard because there were so many schools that I really like. Some of those schools in the directory were really good too, so it was kind of cool, but it was hard. Interviewer:To narrow down? Interviewee:Yeah, because there were maybe 100 schools that I had in mind in the book, so I had to narrow it down to 12. Interviewer:Would you say that you first looked up the schools in the book and then when you went to the open house you found more or was it more that you looked at the school and the open house together? Interviewee:Some of the schools didn t have an open house. I did look at the open house and the book; it wasn t really hard, because some of the schools I really liked and some I didn t. It was easy finding the schools and everything. Interviewer:Were you able to attend any open houses in addition to the fair? Interviewee:Yeah. Social Oppression is a main theme explored throughout the two tragic novels, The Go Between and Spies. Throughout the novels, L.P. Hartley and Michael Frayn successfully convey the idea, through the use of their main characters, the effects of social oppression and class divide. Using many techniques they show how class and oppression had power over the people of the Victorian era. And even after the turn of the century, People were still trapped in the shadows of the past era. Both novels are told as flashbacks taking us through the lives of two main protagonists. The climax of both novels lead to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike Leo, Stephen s low class was known to everyone and he couldn t even dare to keep it a secret. He was the other ranks and unlike Leo, although he felt the class difference he was still grateful to be so . He lived in a semi detached house attached to the pinchers making the whole situation even more shameful . While his friend Keith lived in a house with white wicket gates with a neat red brick path that curves through rose beds . He felt like he wasn t even worthy of the Hayward s as he says The Hayward s were impeccable and yet they tolerated him and Mrs Hayward s incomprehensible niceness . Stephen like Leo, has the colour green associated with them as Stephen admits everything about me was plainly green . Stephen didn t dare to go against Keith s orders as Keith was the leader and he was the led . Stephen s feeling of social inferiority to Keith allows Keith to dominate and intimidate Keith s life as Stephen sees Keith as the first in a whole series of dominant figures whose disciple I became . Some media representations may seem realistic but they have just been constructed to seem that way for a particular audience and purpose. It is a selective version of reality and not necessarily accurate or complete. Representations are useful for conveying complex thoughts and emotions. A person holds legitimate power if other accept his or her authority to tell them what to do (Rainey, 2014) p.177. According to French and Raven, Legitimate power is the most complex powerand has three bases: cultural values, acceptance of social structure and designation. Because of the leaders are appointed officially, legitimate power can also be called as positional power or official power(Raven, 1992). It is based on leader s experience, skill, talents in specific subjects and issues. An example of expert power is: getting legal advice from attorneys or consulting with therapist over medical care route. Expert power is not always related to people s education, positions or titles. Most of the time, experience is more important for expert power than knowledge, academic education or titles. Sometime it can base on less knowledge, such as people let less educated native villager to lead directions they want to go in the area he is expert (French et al., 1959). It means, everyone who has expert power or skills in his or her field, is able to convince his or her followers to trust him (Petress, Ken 2003). According to Raven, the use of expert power will be likely more if it is needed for achievements. For people, it is the most preferable one among other powers, as it can provide assistances for getting promotion, gaining respect and self confidence, being admirable person among co workers and trusted, and so on. • 9. Hester And Dimmesdale s Shame Hawthorne artfully demonstrates the difference between external and internal portrayals of shame and the consequences of both, by using the characters of Hester Prynne and the Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale. By examining Hester and Dimmesdale s way of dealing with the repercussions of their indiscretion and analyzing Benjamin Kilborne s critique Shame Conflicts and Tragedies in The Scarlet Letter, one can see if, or by what measure, if either Hester s or Dimmesdale s shame is worse than the other. I believe Dimmesdale s internal battle with his shame is far worse than Hester s outward shame because it is unbearable, as mentioned by Kilborne. An interesting idea brought up by Kilborne is how both Hester and Dimmesdale personify their sin. He questions why Dimmesdale is forced into seclusion from shame as it reaches to the depths of his soul if Hester is able to embrace her sin and shame and hold them up as realities. Before looking at this more closely, the way people perceive shame is an important factor. Kilborne mentions, In this context, shame can be a fundamental reaction to (and a defense against) wrong feelings, or being helpless in the face of the intensity of feelings, or being flooded by feelings one cannot understand. In addition to these shameful ego ideal conflicts, the fear of the intensity of feelings itself generates shame, which then produces defenses against shame as an affect whose intensity is threatening. This quote explains that anyone can be a leader with or without having a highly position, as long as he or she does it with devotion. According to Amy Rees Anderson from Forbes, a true leader knows who they are and what they stand for. They know their values and the rules they will abide by, regardless of the circumstances they face. Oedipus, the protagonist of SophoclesOedipus Rex, is clearly a good leader. Oedipus has been a good leader to Thebes for many years even though he sometimes can be a bit conceited. • 11. Stoicism in The Dreamer of the Rood Essay The Dream of the Rood uses stoicism to promise reward for suffering where Christ and the cross are linked, yet paralleled with the dreamer in that he joins in the comitatus of Christ through the cross therefor gaining redemption and eternal life and home in heaven. Christ himself though does not serve the same role as he does in biblical texts, here he is brave and stoic, like a great warrior. The Dream of the Rood presents us with the warrior who is Jesus. This Jesus is not the more passive character that modern religion embraces, but behaves as an Anglo Saxon warrior as he boldly runs to the cross for personal honor. Whereas his ascension is described as he sent forth his spirit (49) rather than gave up his spirit in the Bible, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The cross, once plain wood, is now exalted over all forest tress (91) and risen to the status of a lord. The Dreamer is seeing for himself the validity of Christ s claims of rewarding his faithful servants. So the Cross, it seems, is now further gift giving and reciprocating by telling the Dreamer that he has been given a gift by Christ, who died for his sins. The Dreamer interprets the telling of this story by the Cross as a gift, and so in return for this gift that the Cross has given him, the Dreamer tells the story of his dream to others in order to tell the tale and let others know of this great gift that was given to all of humanity by Christ. Its resplendence in its appearance to the dreamer is testament to the validity of its sacrifice in going against traditional Germanic servitude, which is important to addressing the comingling of cultures in The Dream of the Rood. This is certainly not heroism and faithful retainership as the Anglo Saxons were used to it, but the Dreamer s vision of the Cross in all its glory gives credence to Christ as a lord and gift giver. The portrayal of Christ as a warrior fighting for his people in Dream of the Rood is a very powerful picture of a hero and savior. Christ is described here as a young hero, a warrior fighting to save his people. Christ and the tree are drenched in blood, covered with markings, and yet they stand strong and have courage. The Buddhist culture was formed by Buddha who went out to discover the causes of pain and suffering. Once Buddha realized what the cause was, he provided a set of four guiding principles know as the Four Noble Truths that are exercised in Buddhism(Kleiner, p. 13). The Four Noble truths are Life is suffering, the cause of suffering is desire, one can overcome and extinguish desire, the way to conquer desire and end suffering is to follow Buddha s Eightfold Path... The dome shape of the stopa represents the mountain of the world. The toranas are large stone pillars that are placed in the cardinal points of the stone fence, north, east, south, and west. Directly on top of the stupa sits the harmika. This harmika is a rectangle shape stone fence that represents an area of the gods. In the center of this harmika extends the yasti, a pole like structure protruding towards the universe representing the axis of the universe. There are three chatras that are pierced through the yasti. The chatras are stone discs that represent the union of the earth and the heavenly paradise (Kleiner, p. 15). The stupas are walked around in a clockwise manner by Buddhists because that is the same movement of the earth around the sun. This is known as circumambulation. The theory of circumambulation is that it brings the devotee into harmony with the cosmos (p. 15). This is the standard blueprint to which all stupas are constructed, thus allowing the Buddhists to circumambulate the structure. The Great Stupa of Sanchi is located in Sanchi, which lies in central India. The Great Stupa follows the same basic structure blueprinted for all stupas. What makes this one so unique is that it stands fifty feet high and has two different levels that are designed to be circumambulated. There are four gates that the Buddhists enter ... Throughout my childhood my parents would always remind me about the importance of being honest. In their opinion nothing was as important as having self respect and being trustworthy. The saying honesty is the best policy perfectly sums up my belief about how people should interact with each other. For me, being honest in everything I do can be a very difficult thing, but I have found that as I follow this basic principle my life has become better for it. • 14. Summary Of Yuma Buck And Nude Squaw By Henry Buehman The piece Yuma Buck and Nude Squaw by Henry Buehman taken place in the Tucson Arizona Territory in the 1870s is a visual representation of colonialism within the 70s. Because Buehman was a white man and an outsider looking into the Indian community that he studied, audiences are easily able to see the informed accents of colonialism in his work. This photo in particular represents the the concept of the colonial gaze quite well. By definition the colonial gaze is how westerners and non westerners see Indigenous people. The individuals within the photo look as if they have a lot of disinterest in the photoshoot, which is what Buehman may have been hoping for. Because they are not smiling or in a confident pose it is almost as if Buehman is intentionally trying to represent the colonial gaze.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the photo it is as if he uses the woman to represent what the Europeans see in Indigenous people such as savage, uncivilized, and dirty, and on the other hand he dresses the man in more of a European outfit of choice with the black vest and shirt and pants. Harmonic Compensation by PV-STATCOM For emolument of current harmonics (if any), the instantaneous resoluteness of different active and reactive powers is utilized the active and reactive powers are computed utilizing p q theory. No restrictions are imposed on the voltage or current wave forms, and it can be applied to three phase systems with or without a neutral wire for three phase generic voltage and current wave forms. Thus, it is valid not only in steady state, but withal in transient states. The p q Theory first transforms voltages and currents from the a b c to О± ОІ o coordinates, and then defines instantaneous power on these coordinates. Hence, this theory always considers the three phase system as a unit, not a superposition or sum of three single phase circuits. The p q Theory utilizes the О± ОІ o transformation, additionally kenned as the Clarke transformation, which consists of an authentic matrix that transforms three phase voltages and currents into the О± ОІ o stationary reference frames, given by: [в–€(V_0@V_О±@V_О І )]=в€ љ3/2 [в– (1/в€ љ2 1/в€ љ2 1/в€ љ2@1 1 /в€ љ2 1/в€ љ3@0 в€ љ3/2 в€ љ3/2)][в–€(V_a@V_b@V_c )] [в –€(i_L0@i_LО±@i_LО І )]=в€ љ3/2 [в– (1/в€ љ2 1/в€ љ2 1/в€ љ2@1 1/в€ љ2 1/в€ љ3@0 в€ љ3/2 в€ љ3/2)][в–€(i_La@i_Lb@i_Lc )] By utilizing the О± ОІ o transformation the zero sequence component can be disunited from the a b c phase components. One of these views is known as Arianism, which, according to Erickson, states that The Father alone is uncreated and eternal. The Word is therefore a created being, although the first and highest of the beings (2015, 243). This view, which is especially prevalent within the belief system of Jehovah s Witnesses, essentially claims that although JesusChrist shares traits with God the Father, He is not one with the Father and therefore, not God Himself (Ibid.). Building And Evaluating Experiential Learning Mechanisms Building and evaluating experiential learning mechanisms requires a deep understanding of not only general learning theory, but also the principal ways in which material can be taught to students. According to authors of Effective Instruction for Stem Disciplines: From Learning Theory to College Teaching, there are numerous traditional learningmethods that are important for our background. The first, which they call study based, is based on student focus on materials, without a strong active component. For most students, especially those of younger ages, this likely occurs most at home, where students independently study for traditional examinations. The second traditional learning method, retrieval, they describe as the conversion of study based learning into an active learning method. Retrieval encourages students to practice accessing information to make it so regular that using it in later informational synthesis is already simple. The third traditional learning method, which they call schema building, is learning based on situational practice, ensuring that students can appropriate handle the real life aspects and applications of a concept (Mastascusa et al., 2011). Unfortunately, these traditional methods of learning are not always indicative of modern, dynamic education. More modern learning techniques provide students with a far more interactive experience. In one such method, students combine the first and third aforementioned traditional study methods. Students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At the start of the episode, we take a glimpse of where Lacie lives. The beautiful topiary of the trees, clean roads and sidewalks, all picture perfect. Although recent empirical research using individual level survey data finds no support for the notion that Blacks are more tolerant of violence, at least one recent analyst has intriguingly argued that Black violence is a cultural phenomenon resulting from 200 years of immersion in the Southern culture of violence, and carried out of the South with the great migration in the first half of the 20th century. Your owner controls where you work, how you work, your living and eating. Slavery had been around for centuries but by the 1700 s attitudes were beginning to change. The slave trade was abolished in 1807, but you must keep in mind that it was only the trade of slaves that was banned not slavery itself! The members of the Society for the Abolition of the Slave Trade tactically decided to focus on a campaign to persuade Parliament to ban the trading in slaves. This was because they felt they were more likely to succeed than if they demanded the abolition of all slavery throughout the empire. They expected that the complete abolition would continue naturally. In economy the slave trade had become less important. There was no longer a need for large numbers of slaves to be imported to the British colonies to work on sugar plantations because there was a world over supply of sugar. This also meant that British merchants had difficulties re exporting it. Also sugar could be cheaply bought without the use of slavery from Britain s other colonies. For example, India. Analysis Of Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter Jalon Ellison English 10 Mrs. Jackson 16 December 2015 A Sinner Defined by The Scarlet Letter Society has not changed as far as labeling people and probably never will. In the Puritan society they branded, tortured, and defined human beings the way they saw them even though they did not know how the person they were humiliating truly was. Hester Prynne is a good example of this in the novel The Scarlet Letter written by the author Nathaniel Hawthorne. Hawthorne is using the character Hester in this novel to show how society can truly label people. People can be defined by the biggest thing in their life and in this case the letter A has brought a whole new meaning to Hester s life and has defined her apart from others in the community in a way she never thought. The Puritan society never focuses on Hester, how she acts, who she talks to, or even what she wears until she commits a sin. After the whole community knows of her sin then they know her as the adulterer, the sinner, the one who should be punished but what they do not know is what kind of a person she really is. Hester Prynne is kind, smart, and a beautiful woman who is trying to do her best in life in the new world considering her husband left her and did not return until she is brought upon the scaffold in front of the town for humiliation.
