We stayed in Knysna for 3 nights and our hotel was nestled on the banks of a lagoon alright. While
relaxing in the hotel patio, I saw colorful birds and sea birds.
The following day, we ferried along the lagoon to the mouth of the open sea to Featherbed
Nature Reserve for an eco adventure tour. From the lagoon, I saw the Knysna Heads two
enormous sandstone cliffs that stand like sentries at the entrance to the Knysna Lagoon from the
sea. While traveling by a four wheel drive to the top of the hill, our local guide talked about the
flora and fauna, and the Blue Duiker, one of the smallest and most endangered of the antelope,
found in the area. Even though I did not see a Blue Duiker, I was not totally disappointed for
when we reached the top of the hill we were treated to a stunning view of the blue skies of South

The process of chlorinating water for the purpose purifying it, has only been around for just over
a hundred years. Although the process has been seen to have a great effect, in reducing the
amount of disease caught from drinking water (such as typhoid and cholera), it s been a heated
debate for years. The first case of water being disinfected on a mass scale, was done by a man
named John L. Leal. Leal was a physician by profession, but was thought by many to be a bit of a
mad man at the time, because of his idea that chlorine had the properties to disinfect water for
drinking. It was thought at the time, that if chlorine is poisonous when in a gaseous state, then
what s to say that it s not poisonous when it s added to water (creating calcium hydrochloride),
which it was (reference 1).Leal spent years of his life observing the effects were when very
small amounts of chloride of lime was added to bacteria filled water. He observed in more cases

Overcoming Obstacles To Success
People are faced with obstacles on a daily basis, but it is how a person deals with the obstacle

Cinematic techniques play an essential part in a film s quest to create a particular effect or to
uncover a particular theme. The dystopian movie, Children of Men, directed by Alfonso Cuaron,
incorporates numerous symbols to convey a much broader meaning to its theme driven story line.
The symbols in the film play a significant role helping explain the two main underlying themes in
the film, which are hope and the coming of age. Without the use of the many symbols, it would be
difficult to understand the main themes the film is trying to explore. In this paper I argue how the
