What Is The Native American Graves Protection And...
The Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) was created to protect
Native artifacts and give proper п»їп»їп»їrecognition and ownership to the native tribe or direct
descendants of which it is rightfully affiliated with. Cultural items include sacred objects, inherited
objects, funerary objects, and human remains. NAGPRA is a federal law passed in 1990 that is
used by federal agencies and all museums but is applied to anyone who discovers the listed above
artifacts. This Act includes provisions for unclaimed and culturally unidentifiable items on Federal
and tribal lands. There are penalties for those who do not comply or who partake in illegal
trafficking. NAGPRA authorizes Federal grants to tribes, organizations, and museums to help with
the documentation and repatriation of items. There is a Review Committee to monitor the process
and facilitate the resolutions for disputes. Specific requirements for the law is that Federal agencies
and museums are required to take inventory of Native American human remains and funerary
objects and provide written summaries of other cultural items. The agencies and museums must
consult with Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations to attempt to reach agreements on the
repatriation or other disposition of these remains and objects.... Show more content on

Benefits Of Financial Support For Medical And Health Care
Economic criteria are used at different levels and in more than one country. Economic standards
are traded and the extent of their spread and the reasons for which they are used depend heavily
on the prevailing system in the country. Whether public or private insurance or social insurance.

The Slippery Snow On The Cold Ice Pack
Today was supposed to be like every other Sunday. No matter what the weather gave us, we got
up bright and early to go to church, and after we went to lunch at OUR FAMILY S DINER. As
we were leaving lunch and heading back into town, we had our music blaring to pop hits as
usual. My little sister and I love to dance in the car while my parents sing a duet, but today we
got carried away. My father was paying more attention to hitting the high note than the flashing
railroad lights ahead. By the time my father touched the brakes, we were far too close to the
tracks. The slippery snow on the ground did not help his attempt to stop before the tracks. Then
everything went black. When I woke up I could feel the cold ice pack against my left temple.
Within seconds of my eyes being opened, nurses came running in to check my monitors. Pain
radiated throughout my body. My right wrist and right leg were covered under a cast, and I had
a neck brace around my neck. A thin, blonde nurse in a blue scrub asked, Good morning, Dear. It
s nice to see you re finally awake. How do you feel? Do you remember anything? No, what
happened? How long have I been asleep for? Where s my mom? I asked impatiently, almost
jumping out of my bed. Settle down, Mallory. You were in a horrific train car crash on Sunday,
two days ago. Your parents, Lilly, and you were in the car. You broke your wrist and fractured
your femur. I would like you to wait a couple minutes and then I can take

on the opposite side of the world, this two countries both experienced medieval period with few
similarities and differences. They experienced it about at the same time as each other. Japan is
made of four islands which are Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. It is surrounded by the

Introduction
A business venture is a piece of art, it is a pile of mud and as the mud begins to take shape, the
possibility of Michelangelo s David becomes a reality. The unfortunate risk is that instead of
David , the mud may form into Benjamin Smith s childhood playdough figures (not a pretty
sight). A lot of risk is associated with the startup of a business venture, but a good idea with a great
plan could become the worst decision ever made if the execution of the idea and plan are
mismanaged. The importance placed on putting together a team of ... Show more content on

He understands that employees need a means of supporting themselves and their families. For this
reason, he often overlooks or gives repeated opportunities to employees. It is his belief though that
managing a company of his own, and the success of the business being a means of his own family
s livelihood will address this issue. Benjamin and his younger brother both have a general
knowledge of accounting, but someone with more experience may be consulted from time to time.
The weaknesses of the ownership group will be evaluated and if necessary, will be addressed
through the hiring of employees with the strengths to fill voids.
The Managers Ultimately the venture will require two managers, one for the pub side and one for
the coffee house side. The managers will possibly be made up of a cousin of the owners who has
a communication degree, and has a passion for coffee and baking. Her job would be to manage the
coffeehouse side of the business venture. The other manager would possibly be a beer
representative from Miller Coors who shares a passion for beer and entertainment. His job would
be to manage the pub side of the venture. If these two options do not work then people with
similar skill sets would be sought. The idea is to employ individuals who provide strengths in the

The Excavation Of The Uluburun Shipwreck
In the summer of 1982, a local Turkish sponge diver named Mehmed Cakir set out on a normal
morning dive. In the Bay of Antalya in the Mediterranean Sea near the city of Kas, the diver took
a boat not too far off shore. During his dive, he found what he described as metal biscuits with ears
and reported them to the Institute of Nautical Archaeology in Kas. The INA then sent a team to the
shoreline to discover what would end up being the Uluburun, the oldest shipwreckever excavated.
The site of the Uluburun shipwreck is just 50 meters (160 feet) off the eastern shore of Uluburun,
and 6 miles southeast of the city Kas, Turkey. Excavation of the Uluburun shipwreck began in
July of 1984 and lasted until late 1994. It was split up into eleven campaigns, each lasting around
three to four months. The Institute of Nautical Archaeology controlled the entire excavation;
however it was led by two different nautical archaeologists. Dr. George F. Bass initiated the
preliminary campaign in 1984 and was taken over by Dr. Cemal Pulak in 1985 until 1994. Dr.
George F. Bass is recognized as one of the early practitioners of underwater archaeology. In 1960,
Bass was the director of the first archaeological expedition to entirely excavate an ancient
shipwreck, Cape Gelidonya, which is not far from the site of the Uluburun. When Bass left the
project to teach, Pulak took over and has been directing INA s annual shipwreck surveys in Turkey
since 1982.

Risk Assessment At The United States Army
Risk Assessment Before Risk Assessment can be addressed we must first briefly discuss Risk
Management (RM), the framework of which is where risk assessment resides for the United
States Army. The Army uses RM to ensure mission accomplishment in current as well as future
operations and applies to operations and non operational activities (Department of the Army
[ATP 5 19], 2014, p. 1 1). The Army process of RM utilizes five steps as part of its holistic
approach to mitigate risks, but because this paper s focus in on the RiskAssessment of the
management solutions identified last week, it will only focus on the first two steps of RM, Identify
the hazard and Assess the hazard.
Hazards exist in all environments, are present in all activities, and a hazard, as it relates to our
assessment of the Special Activities Command (SAC), creates a condition that has the potential
for mission degradation (ATP 5 19, 2014, p. 1 4). After the hazards have are identified, Step two in
the RM processes involves assigning a level of risk to these hazards by estimating probability and
severity of loss linked to risk (DA Pam 385 30, 2014, p. 6). Probability is the likelihood of a
hazard scenario occurring and severity is the approximation of harm given the scenario occurring
(DA Pam 385 30, 2014, p. 6). Although probability and severity are both considered in assessing
hazards they are independent of one another or in other words, when estimating probability, it has
no direct relationship to

Michelangelo Sistine Ceiling Meaning
Michelangelo, Roman by birth, is one of the most profound artists of the High Renaissance.
During 1508 to 1510, Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni started on his magnificent
frescos on a ceiling known as the Sistine Chapel. The Sistine Ceiling is a 45x128ft fresco on a
barrel vaulted ceiling filled with separate compositions depicting scenes inspired by the Bible, plus
numerous decorative figures and animals. The central, uppermost part of the ceiling is the most
important and is divided into nine compartments with scenes from the Book of Genesis. The first
group shows God creating the Heavens and the Earth. The second group shows God creating the

a giant brain, while other believes that the shape is a uterus which symbolizes life. Nevertheless,
both are appropriate for describing the God figure. Adam, on the other hand, is on the bottom left

Cross Cultural Interview
Cross Cultural Interview
Culture can be defined as a set of practices, traditions, values, or beliefs a group of people share,
whether it be due to ethnicity, gender, age, or even religion. Having different cultures in a work
place can effectively make a business stronger, especially in the United States where it is known
a the melting pot. I know that in the future I could possibly work at a pharmacy that has
employees from different cultural backgrounds. Therefore, learning now how to understand and
be more aware of these differences would be most beneficial. What better way to do so than to

During the interview he stated, in order to be happy in business, one has to learn to respect the
abilities, efforts, quirks and opinions of others. I believe that there are various ways in which
individuals can show respect while in business. According to Vlosky, Fontenot, Blalock (2000),
gratitude is of essence in any business. While in business dealings, one is always expected to ensure
that they thank their business colleagues whenever they have done business by assisting or
supporting them in whatever manner. This can be achieved through sending emails, texts, calls to
individuals that you always do business with.
Smith also said that sincerity is one of the major aspects that one can show respect when in
business. While I do believe telling the truth is the best policy as well, sometimes being brutally
honest in this world can bring consequences. Many individuals usually do not like when they are
told the truth especially if it is negative (Vlosky, Fontenot, Blalock, 2000). With this being said I
was quite puzzled by Smith s response. So I asked him how being sincere showed respect. He
replied that to show respect in business one should be sincere while thanking them for their efforts,

Can Officers Effectively Prosecute Domestic Violence...
When prosecuting criminal domestic violence cases too many officers constructed their entire case
only on statements made by the victim. However, victims of domestic violence are more likely
than victims of other violent crime to recant or refuse to cooperate in prosecutorial efforts
(Breitenbach, 2008, p. 1256). Officers must consider that victims of domestic violencemay refuse to
testify because of fear of retaliation, intimidation, financial dependence, emotional attachment, and
/or because they reunited with the batterer. If the victim refused to testify during court, their
statement against the abuser becomes hearsay evidence. Several recent cases have had a huge

Thus, any out of court statements made by witnesses and/or victims to law enforcement must be
excluded unless the defendant had prior opportunity to cross examine the unavailable witnesses
(Byrom, 2005). The only non testimonial statements that would be utilized in court, without direct
testimony from the witness and/or complainant, were the taped 911 phone calls reporting the
incident. If the victim testified, their previous statements would be allowed as evidence without
limitation because the witness was subjected to cross examination. However, if the victim refused
to testify, any testimonials made to law enforcement were not allowed as evidence in the court
proceedings.
In light of these legal changes, officers needed to construct their domestic violence cases under the
assumption that the victim would not be participating in the prosecution. The case commenced at
the time the call was received by dispatch up until the case was presented to a judge or jury.
Therefore, officers needed to complete the proper procedures to secure recordings of the calls made
to the 911 dispatch center to report the domestic situation. In addition to having the subject, victim
and/or witnesses complete written and/or video statements, the officer must diligently identify,
collect, and photograph evidence at the crime scene (Ellison, 2002). This required officers to visit
the victim several days later to photograph bruising, because some bruising

Strategic Pricing. According to Metcalf (n.d.), positive marginal profit (MP) (scenario in Graph

negative marginal profits exits, a firm would produce less product or services to balance diminished

What Is The Libertarian View Of Justice

the means to pay for it. It is only just if each child has the same opportunity to develop or expand
their talents. One of Rawls most popular ideas is the veil of ignorance. In this veil of ignorance,
everyone is forced to ignore their own personal circumstances so they can be less bias when
making a decision on justice. One must imagine that they have no idea where they are placed in
the society. If a rich person imagines being in the worst possible class there is, their views on
justice are likely to change. If they were once resentful of extra taxes coming out of their
paychecks to help the poor, imagining themselves being poor would make them understand
those extra taxes. Conversely, if a poor person imagines being extremely rich, they would not
like to have restrictions on how much money they are allowed to make. Furthermore, this social
contract is made voluntarily by members of the society to make it the most just. Since all of the
people could potentially be in the same financial standing, they will give up what they feel is
necessary to make the best bargain. It makes the rich realize that they would still want the best
education for their children even if they were poor. It also makes them recognize the need for
decent healthcare to all of the different classes. Adequate housing would also be wanted for
everyone if people did not know what class they would be

Good And Evil In The Tell-Tale Heart
Some would say good and some would say evil, some would say that humans are both, unless
forced to take a side. Human s do have good in them, for if they didn t there would be no

Of course to be a humanyou are going to have a small amount of evilresiding inside of you, for all

Forced Migration Essay
In the per modern era, human migration was a well known occurrence that was caused by either
force or willingness of the people. When migration was constituted through force, it was
understood to be through political or economical duress. For instance, political measures
unveiling large tax reforms created unbearable cost of living standards for the poor to survive.
Whereas, increased economic labour created through force, was established for the rich to reap the
benefits from majority of the poor. In essence, this widened the gap of economic dualism by
forcing majority of the lower class people into living standards well below the poverty levels.
Evidently, this would cause cultures to revolt on their kings through revolutionary measures... Show

tax burden on his people, and in turn they became largely bitter towards him. After his death,
massive conflicts came before the people to eventually split Israel and Judah into separate
kingdoms. In 800 B.C.E., two centuries later, the Assyrians conquered the north, and many of the
Jews of Israel were deported (Ardito, Gambaro and Torrefranca p.42). Later, in 600 B.C.E., the
kingdom of Judah was overthrown by the Babylons. In turn, this lead to their captivity as slaves;
entering a new era of a nomadic culture spread across the western world. On the other hand, it was
this captivity which strengthened their religious identity, and evidently propagated the largest

Next, looking at the Han Dynasty, it lasted from 202 B.C.E. to 220 C.E. This time period was said

For the past 18 months Martha McCaskey has been an exemplary performer with high integrity

McCaskey was so outraged she finished the report in 10 days. Malone established her report as the
new benchmark for IAD projects. This behavior by Malone should have been a warning sign as
well. McCaskey had been with IAD a short time and already her work was a bench mark? There
is no easier way to gain loyalty then by praise. McCaskey felt Richardson and Malone
disapproved of her handling of the project. It was during this period that Malone suggested
McCaskey ask advice of 2 members of the Hackerts group; Dan Randall and Chuck Kaufmann
concerning obtaining sources of information. Hackert s group was involved in gathering detailed
information about competitors. This McCaskey quickly ascertained that Kaufmann and Randall

asked by Richardson to talk with the rest of the members of Davies Old Guard group on the

The Basque Region
The Basque region is in the northern part of Spain and Southern France. The Basque language is
completely different from any other language. Neither the language nor physical characteristics of
the people are comparable to any other culture, and not similar to French or Spanish. The Basque
people are mostly in Northern Spainand therefore are perceived for the most part, as a part of
Spain. In 1492 when the Catholic monarchies led the conquest of Spain, they found that the
Basque had a completely separate culture from the Spanish. Because of this they allowed them
political autonomy and rights to protect their culture. In 1876 the Spanish government abolished
these. This was the start of the Basque Nationalist Party, whose goal was to preserve the rights of
the Basque people. Because the Spanish took their rights away, it created negativity between them
starting in the 1800 s. Then in 1939 Francisco Franco came to power in Spain. Under Franco, the
Basque people suffered great losses of their rights. They were banned from the use of their language
and other cultural practices. While Franco was in power the new Basque nationalist group was
formed. University students founded the ETA(Euskadi Ta Askatasuna) in 1959. ETA stands for
Basque fatherland and liberty. These students did not believe that the Basque Nationalist party was
doing enough. They saw their people suffering under Franco and wanted more to be done. They

My Dog Is The Best Friend
Golden eyes, brown fur, four legs, and a long tongue, what am I? If you haven t guessed already, I ll
tell you, I am a dog, well, I m not actually a dog, that s just the answer to the riddle. More
specifically, I was describing my dog. He is my living artifact, I say that because he is old, and
because I have on other artifacts (that I know of) in my family. I guess we just aren t the
sentimental type, at least not in a, this object represents what we are kind of way. However, to me,
my dogholds a lot of sentimentality mostly through our experiences. I ve never had a human best
friend, and that makes Roscoemy one and only best friend, that is why I choose to make him my
artifact. So, he represents to me hard work, responsibility, friendship, and loyalty.
By now you probably want to know my dog s name, right? His name is Roscoe, and he is a pure
breed chocolate Labrador, and he was born on November 2, 2012 in Spokane, Washington.

take care of themselves while a dog will always rely on you. That is a lot of responsibility that,
unfortunately, not a lot of people can handle, which leads to neglect, however, that is a different
essay. I wasn t a very good dog trainer when I got Roscoe, so I didn t house train him correctly and
I barely was able to teach him to sit. However, I always fed him twice a day, tried to give him
daily walks, and cleaned up the yard after him. Having a dog has taught me to be responsible
which gives Roscoe that much more sentimental value. He is not just valued by my found sense of
responsibility, he Is also my best

TITLE OF PAPER Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism are religions that developed in the East.
Although each of these religions possess characteristics unique to itself, they share one thing in
common in that they are all religions. Their classification as religions depend on the definition of
the word: religion. Webster s Dictionary defines religion as The outward act or form by which
men indicate their recognition of the existence of a god or of gods having power over their
destiny, to whom obedience, service, and honor are due. Frederick Streng s attempt to define
religion as, a process whereby people reach beyond themselves to connect with the true and ... Show

Buddhists certainly recognize the existence of gods, and they practice many outward acts and
forms to show this. Buddhists show their obedience, service, and honor to the Buddha, who is not a
god, by memorizing and preaching his teachings, praying to him, dedicating temples and rituals to
him, and making offerings to him. This is Webster s lone strong point in its definition of religion
regarding Buddhism, and it fails to hold true. The Gautama Buddha claimed that people should
not worship him, because he is now in Nirvana gone from existence. Therefore, there is no true
obedience, service, or honor that is due to the Buddha or any god in Buddhism, because they
have no power over one s destiny. If one were to exclude having power over their destiny, to
whom obedience, service, and honor are due from Webster s definition, then perhaps Buddhism
could be a religion according to Webster. This is certainly not the case in Buddhism. Gods do not
hold any power over any being s destiny outside of their own. The good or bad karma a being
generates is the destiny one constructs for itself. These myopic flaws of Webster s definition are
impossible to ignore; based on its definition, Buddhism would not be a religion, and its definition
would relegates Buddhism to nothing more than practices that appear to be religious but are

How Did Gorbachev Contribute To The Collapse Of Communism...
How can we explain the sudden collapse of Communism in Europe?
Communism was a very popular ideology which was in great favor during the inter war period but
in the 1980s, there was an unanticipated demise of Communism. So how can we explain the sudden
collapse of communism in Europe? I would argue that there were several forces converging to the
breakdown of communism in Eastern Europe. Factors such as the high expenses of engaging in
nuclear arms, the lost of their satellite states, the growing economic disparity in Europe and the
changing attitudes and values of the younger people converged together that brought communism
to the brink of collapse in Europe. The most important factor, however, was the role of Gorbachev
and his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The disparity between the Soviet Union economy and that of the United States was what alerted
Gorbachev that the Communist economy was not doing well. Soviet s command economy was not
concerned with matching supply and demand but with administering inputs and outputs. In other
words, the economy was detached from the consumer and producers. The Communist countries
were unable to catch up with globalization because of the inadequate resources. USSR did not
have the capital to modernize their industries. On top of that, there was a big gap in the quantity
production and the quality was evidently poor as well. Much of the money that was needed for its
economy went to nuclear arms, space technology and to support its eastern bloc countries.
Economic problems, however, were not isolated to Russia alone, by 1989 the satellite states had
accumulated a foreign debt of 49 billion, (Maier, 1997: 59). Economic and industrial progress
degenerated further when the USSR withdrew its support from the satellite states that were heavily
dependent on Russia. The Communist ideology began to decline so quickly that the socialist
economic system no longer worked as the best system. Against the backdrop of such austere
economic prospects, Gorbachev s policies of glasnost and perestroika indirectly implied that the
soviet styled economy was obsolete and clearly failing. This brought about

The ways of Gilead were manipulative and controlling; they limited the amount of
communication with both the handmaids and citizens and used Angels, the police force and the
eyes who were always watching. Gilead painted a portrait of Christianity in a man made control
mechanism to those in the area. They were not aware of what was going on outside of Gilead
and were trapped. We see in the acts of punishment, as they hang men and women for their
crimes encouraging others to watch and display the dead bodies on the way that stands tall in
the city. Their ways were also barbaric and inhuman; as a horrific event occurred after the
women celebrate, the joining of marriage for new wives Aunt Lydia takes this opportunity to

that two guardians were convicted of rape, but one was already shot leaving this one for the

Though we are unaware if the crimes those who were put to death were true or falsified to fit the

Dizzy Gelespie (John Birks Gillespie) Essay
The people of today, raised by the sounds of The Beatles and Pearl Jam have forgotten all about the
musicians that paved the way for these artists, and the musical styles that evolved into rock and roll,

Gillespie admired the style and work of Roy Elridge so much that he started to sound like
Elridge. Some time later Gillespie was hired in a band because he played with Elridge=s style so
well. In his studies he would transcribe or learn the notes and phrases that Elridge would play
during his solos (Powis, 58). Although to become a Jazz musician, Gilllespie did not idolize only
jazz musicians, he also greatly enjoyed listening to and examining the styles of musicians like
Stravinsky, a virtuoso composer of the classic period, and Maurice Ravel another composer,
famous for works like quot;Bolero quot;, a piece that consisted of a phrase that repeated over and
over, each time getting louder and thicker (Powis, 58).
Dizzy unfortunately was to be later recognized by many for his many distinguishable trademarks
instead of the musical proficiency he worked so hard for. He was famous for his sense of humor.
At a performance Dizzy asked the audience if he could introduce the band. The audience replied
swiftly quot;yes quot;. He than began introducing the saxophone player to the drummer and the
trumpet player to the trombonist and so forth (Wastrous, January 17). He also expressed his
incredible humor within his music as well. In his own interpretation of the spiritual, quot;Swing

When considering alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine, it is actually hard to classify them all as the
same thing because they all have their own individual effects on the body. The classmate was
correct when saying marijuana and alcohol have similar effects on behavior, but even then, they
are only similar to a certain extent. Alcohol and marijuana are similar because they both act as a
depressant on the body s nervous system when entered into the blood stream. Both substances
cause the individual to become impaired in one way or another and lose the ability to do some
of the things sober people can do. However, alcohol causes the body to lose balance, alter the
individuals to speak properly, impairs their sleep cycle, and at times causes aggressive behavior.
Marijuana, on the other hand, over activates the cannabinoid receptors causing a disruption of
memory, alters perceptions in regards to sound and movement by slowing it down, and numbing
portions of the body as a whole. When adding cocaine into the equation, that s where the
comparison is thrown off completely. Cocaine does the complete opposite and acts as a stimulant
by blocking the removal of dopamine in the synapses of the brain (National Institute of Drug

leads to them crashing and hitting an extreme low. Cocaine causes tachycardia, arrhythmia,

The Ohio state university and its football program have been blessed with a rich history and
tradition. The traditions at Ohio State are second to none. At Ohio state football games you get
to witness amazing sites, for example the dotting of the i during script Ohio. This is easily one
of the most well known traditions in all of college football, or it could be the historic stadium
nicknamed The Horseshoe , where many great players have played for years. Ohio State s
traditions make for a great atmosphere for football. They are apart of one of the greatest
rivalries in all of sports. Every year they strap their pads up and face their arch rival Michigan, in
a game that is highly anticipated and broadcasted all across the country. This game always
produces a high energy game with a ton of excitement that every true college football fan can
appreciate and loves to watch. Another great tradition that comes along with this game is the gold
pants. Since 1934 everytime Ohio State defeats the Michigan Wolverines they receive a golden
pants charm. This tradition was started by an Ohio State coach who had no fear of Michigan and
was quoted as to saying They put their pants on one leg at a time, just like

Women s Suffrage By Susan B. Anthony Silver Dollar
It s sobering to realize that it s only been 95 years since the first woman legally cast her ballot in
an American presidential election. March is Women s History Month and before it s over for
2015, I d like to propose that we launch an effort to memorialize the immense contributions of the
American women s suffrage leaders by adding their likeness to at least one of our pieces of currency.
The Susan B. Anthony silver dollar had a short but awkward run from 1979 1981 and again in
1999 before production halted. In recent months, there have been discussions about replacing
President Jackson on the $20 bill with someone else. Why not the three leading women who
devoted their lives to the rights of women voters and changed the course of American history
without ever casting a legal ballot of their own?
In the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol stands a striking, white sculpture of three incredible women. It is
the first sculpture in the Capitol sculpted by a woman (Adelaide Johnson), of women (Susan B.
Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott) and for women. The sculpture gives the
appearance of being unfinished or incomplete as a way of illustrating that the contributions of
women to American government are still taking place and will never be finished. Today, women
have a voice in our government because of the sacrifices and courageous efforts of those first
Women s Suffrage crusaders. They challenged convention, changed history and lived by the
conviction of Susan B.

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime
The Curious Incident of the dog in the night time by Mark Haddon is a sad book because
Christopher goes through a lot in this book. He finds out Mother cheated on Father by Ms.
Alexander, his neighbor, telling him that his mother was very good friends (pg.60), with Mr. Shears
and that meant they had a sexual affair. Christopher always thought Motherhad died of a heart
attack (27), because that s what Father had told him. Days later Christopher finds letters going to
his name and were from his mother, he first was confused because Mother had died so then he
thought it could ve been to another person (pg.99). Later on he reads other letters he finds and finds
out his mother wasn t dead and that Father had lied to him the whole time. When... Show more

In the beginning of the novel Christopher mentions that he doesn t like talking to stranger is not
something he usually (34), does and he didn t like (34), talking to strangers but for this case
since he was going to be a detective to find out who killed the dog Wellington he had to talk to
his neighbors. Another example in when Christopher walks to his school and he s never walked
to school before he had always took the school bus but he didn t want to be Father her walked.
When he got to his school he see s Father s van he felt like he was going to get sick again (137),
and he knew that he was going to feel sick so he didn t sick all over (137), himself. When
Christopher arrives in London he asks a lady for the directions to Mother s address and when she
told him where to go. Christopher took a deep breath and said to himself I can do this (172),
because he was doing really well (172), going to his mother s house. These examples show how

Essay On I Hear America Singing
In the poem I,Too , the point of view is told from a black man in the hope of a better future for
the blacks. In this poem he mentions not being able to eat at the table and they kick him out to
eat in the kitchen. His views America as unfair but one day it will all be equal and he will be
with the other in an equal territory. As the poem develops he becomes more hopeful in being able
to eat in the kitchen along with the white people and they will know that he is American also. In
comparison, I Hear America Singing , has a much different point of view. The point of view of I
Hear America Singing , Walt Whitman is viewing as America great and nothing is wrong in this
beautiful country. This is showing the individual liberty of each person

The Evolution of the Meaning of Life
The complex idea of the meaning of life came to be first through the Hindu teachings. The four
main purposes of life are Dharma meaning to act virtuously and righteously. Artha means the
prosperity and successfulness in one s life. Kama being the concept of whatever action a person
makes, they will receive the same back. Moksha is the proceeding of a spirit into another being
according to their past life.
Following the Hindus, then came the Dao teachings of life, using the five elements earth, wind,
fire, water, and air for fulfilling one s personal goal in accomplishing a successful life. Through
the use of the elements, Daoists have found certain rules of nature that are shown in our human
existence. Because of the elements, our lives are constantly affected by outside forces and by
nature itself. Therefore knowledge of the principles of nature will help a person move from
being troubled by outside forces to being led by the natural inside forces that are centered in
peace beyond outside forces. By following Tao, or the way, one must mentally teach oneself the
capabilities of being successful in life on Earth. Tao is not a god but more of a way or self
encouragement type of movement.
The meaning of life in Confucianism is to follow the ways of Confucius to achieve your personal
goal. Confucius believed that Tien Ming was that all living things are under the ultimate control

2.The annual loss attributed to the consumption of tobacco in the United States is more than
480,000.
The tobacco industry to this day still continues to be a very profitable business for many reasons.
One is the attraction to young adults. Even though it may be illegal to advertise tobacco products
on television, shows and movies starring famous actors are shown smoking. This influences those
younger to think that doing so is socially acceptable, therefore perfectly fine to do the same. This
increases the amount of people they sell to. Also, the smokeless tobacco has many flavors that
draw people into their product, many being the youth. It is mistakenly seen as to be healthier and
less addictive than regular flavors due to its innocent flavor. After the tobacco is tried by a person,
they tend to be hooked and want more due to nicotine. Being that they practically depend on

The Power of Working Out Essay
The Power of Working Out
Wherever I go, whenever I go, whoever I see, I am always astonished by the way that people
want to present themselves. The principle of working out reminds me of nothing else but a song
titled wherever, whenever, whoever by Shakira. It is for the pure sense that everyone wants to
look good and become popular by looking good. The media brings about popularity just by looking
this so called good. Take for example BritneySpears, Christina Aguilara, Shakira, and other teen
pop sensations. Many of these pop stars are not even old enough to drink, however they are making
millions of dollars from their performances and cd s that have sold. But it is not just the music that

So the JCC is a very ideal place for someone to go work out having it a very nice and clean facility
with many benefits.
The weight room itself is a very nice big open room which is surrounded by treadmills, weights
that range from 1 100 pounds. Ski machines, bench press machines, sit up benches, curling bars
and other machines that makes it a very nice place for people to work out while above them is a
T.V screen maybe about the size of 20 inches where people watch sports, the discovery channel,
or anything else that may please the people to make it a more enjoyable work out. It seems as if
the weight room evolves around an age group of all sorts. People within the ages of 15 to 70
years old, perhaps even older come to this weight room to work out and increase their health. It
seems not to only be a health

work out, or anything else.
On Saturday, November 24, 2001 I arrived into a giant parking lot where I was only one of a few
cars parked. This is because the JCC opens at 1:00 PM, however I am
supposed to be there early so I can turn all the TV s on, as well as all the machines, and put out the

Biblical Eras Of Creation, The Patriarchs, And The Ketuvim
Referred to as Tanak by Jews, the Hebrew Bible contains twenty four books characterized by
three categories: The Torah, the Nevi im, and the Ketuvim, which outline the history and beliefs
of the Jewish faith. The Torah, commonly known as the Law of Moses, contains the books of
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These five narrative books cover the
Biblical eras of creation, the patriarchs, and the exodus. In Genesis 1, God created everything
from nothing at His will in six days and proclaimed all of it good. Humankind was created, Adam
and Eve, in God s image, and they lived in the pure garden of Eden. Sin is introduced to the
world when a serpent convinces Eve, who subsequently convinces Adam, to eat from the the tree
of good and evil, which God strictly forbade. God judged their sin, bans them from Eden, they
went out in the world, and birthed sons Cain and Abel. After Cain killed Abel out of jealousy,
God again judged sin by cursing Cain, but exemplified forgiveness in Genesis 6 through his
promise to curse whoever tried to hurt him. Generations later, descendant of Adam, Noah, is
introduced, as well as his wife Naamah and their sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. In Genesis 6,
God decided to start over, but saved Noah, his family, and animals, by telling Noah to build an ark
to endure the great flood. Noah fulfilled God s orders and built an alter to Him after the flood
seceded, but his descendants prove the corruptness of humankind yet again and God

Women s Roles In Ancient Egyptian Women, As Nefertiti And...
Legendary women such as Nefertiti and Cleopatra are the powerful faces of Ancient Egypt that are
well known throughout the world, but the details on the lives of ordinary Egyptian women are
much more obscure. Many goddesses and other important female figures have been a prevalent
topic of study in the ancient Egyptian world, however, the knowledge of how normal women spent
their days is not nearly as common. The development of the roles and status of women in ancient
Egyptas well as their everyday lives and their impact on society was essential to the advancement
of the civilization as a whole. The richest and most primary source other than written text was
the artwork that is commonly associated with tombs; for instance, funerary models, reliefs, and
wall paintings. Since men were typically the ones who would commission and create conceptual
and representational art, many aspects of women s lives were ignored or neglected. It was also
very rare for female roles to be included in historical documents from the era because they seldom
held high government positions, even though the idea of women being in power was not unheard
of or uncommon between 3,000 and 1,000 BC. This research paper will be exploring a wide
variety of details in ancient Egyptian women s lives such as marriage, domestic living, legal and
political rights, religion, and women of power. Ancient Egyptian women were granted social
liberties, individual freedom, and even legal rights equal to those of

On the other hand, if the multipath scattering is adequate, then the numerous sub streams are all
scattered marginally in an unexpected way, since they start from diverse transmit receiving
antennas that are situated at different points. By utilizing modern sign preparing, these slight
contrasts in scrambling permit the sub streams to be distinguished and recouped. As a result, the
unavoidable multipath is abused to give an extremely valuable spatial parallelism that is utilized to
significantly enhance data transmission rates.
b.Array Architecture Massive MIMO demands uniquely large base station arrays. Challenge was to

The Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) was created to protect Native artifacts and give proper п»їп»їп»їrecognition and ownership to the native tribe or direct descendants of which it is rightfully affiliated with. Cultural items include sacred objects, inherited objects, funerary objects, and human remains. NAGPRA is a federal law passed in 1990 that is used by federal agencies and all museums but is applied to anyone who discovers the listed above artifacts. This Act includes provisions for unclaimed and culturally unidentifiable items on Federal and tribal lands. There are penalties for those who do not comply or who partake in illegal trafficking. NAGPRA authorizes Federal grants to tribes, organizations, and museums to help with the documentation and repatriation of items. There is a Review Committee to monitor the process and facilitate the resolutions for disputes. Specific requirements for the law is that Federal agencies and museums are required to take inventory of Native American human remains and funerary objects and provide written summaries of other cultural items. Economic standards are traded and the extent of their spread and the reasons for which they are used depend heavily on the prevailing system in the country. • 7. The Slippery Snow On The Cold Ice Pack Today was supposed to be like every other Sunday. No matter what the weather gave us, we got up bright and early to go to church, and after we went to lunch at OUR FAMILY S DINER. As we were leaving lunch and heading back into town, we had our music blaring to pop hits as usual. My little sister and I love to dance in the car while my parents sing a duet, but today we got carried away. My father was paying more attention to hitting the high note than the flashing railroad lights ahead. By the time my father touched the brakes, we were far too close to the tracks. The slippery snow on the ground did not help his attempt to stop before the tracks. Then everything went black. When I woke up I could feel the cold ice pack against my left temple. Within seconds of my eyes being opened, nurses came running in to check my monitors. Pain radiated throughout my body. My right wrist and right leg were covered under a cast, and I had a neck brace around my neck. A thin, blonde nurse in a blue scrub asked, Good morning, Dear. It s nice to see you re finally awake. How do you feel? Do you remember anything? No, what happened? How long have I been asleep for? Where s my mom? I asked impatiently, almost jumping out of my bed. Settle down, Mallory. • 12. The Excavation Of The Uluburun Shipwreck In the summer of 1982, a local Turkish sponge diver named Mehmed Cakir set out on a normal morning dive. In the Bay of Antalya in the Mediterranean Sea near the city of Kas, the diver took a boat not too far off shore. During his dive, he found what he described as metal biscuits with ears and reported them to the Institute of Nautical Archaeology in Kas. The INA then sent a team to the shoreline to discover what would end up being the Uluburun, the oldest shipwreckever excavated. The site of the Uluburun shipwreck is just 50 meters (160 feet) off the eastern shore of Uluburun, and 6 miles southeast of the city Kas, Turkey. Excavation of the Uluburun shipwreck began in July of 1984 and lasted until late 1994. It was split up into eleven campaigns, each lasting around three to four months. The Institute of Nautical Archaeology controlled the entire excavation; however it was led by two different nautical archaeologists. Dr. George F. Bass initiated the preliminary campaign in 1984 and was taken over by Dr. Cemal Pulak in 1985 until 1994. Dr. George F. Bass is recognized as one of the early practitioners of underwater archaeology. In 1960, Bass was the director of the first archaeological expedition to entirely excavate an ancient shipwreck, Cape Gelidonya, which is not far from the site of the Uluburun. When Bass left the project to teach, Pulak took over and has been directing INA s annual shipwreck surveys in Turkey since 1982. The location of the Uluburun brought ... • 13. Risk Assessment At The United States Army Risk Assessment Before Risk Assessment can be addressed we must first briefly discuss Risk Management (RM), the framework of which is where risk assessment resides for the United States Army. The Army uses RM to ensure mission accomplishment in current as well as future operations and applies to operations and non operational activities (Department of the Army [ATP 5 19], 2014, p. 1 1). The Army process of RM utilizes five steps as part of its holistic approach to mitigate risks, but because this paper s focus in on the RiskAssessment of the management solutions identified last week, it will only focus on the first two steps of RM, Identify the hazard and Assess the hazard. Hazards exist in all environments, are present in all activities, and a hazard, as it relates to our assessment of the Special Activities Command (SAC), creates a condition that has the potential for mission degradation (ATP 5 19, 2014, p. 1 4). After the hazards have are identified, Step two in the RM processes involves assigning a level of risk to these hazards by estimating probability and severity of loss linked to risk (DA Pam 385 30, 2014, p. 6). Probability is the likelihood of a hazard scenario occurring and severity is the approximation of harm given the scenario occurring (DA Pam 385 30, 2014, p. 6). Although probability and severity are both considered in assessing hazards they are independent of one another or in other words, when estimating probability, it has no direct relationship to ... I believe that there are various ways in which individuals can show respect while in business. According to Vlosky, Fontenot, Blalock (2000), gratitude is of essence in any business. While in business dealings, one is always expected to ensure that they thank their business colleagues whenever they have done business by assisting or supporting them in whatever manner. This can be achieved through sending emails, texts, calls to individuals that you always do business with. Smith also said that sincerity is one of the major aspects that one can show respect when in business. While I do believe telling the truth is the best policy as well, sometimes being brutally honest in this world can bring consequences. Many individuals usually do not like when they are told the truth especially if it is negative (Vlosky, Fontenot, Blalock, 2000). With this being said I was quite puzzled by Smith s response. So I asked him how being sincere showed respect. He replied that to show respect in business one should be sincere while thanking them for their efforts, assistance or good ... • 19. Can Officers Effectively Prosecute Domestic Violence... When prosecuting criminal domestic violence cases too many officers constructed their entire case only on statements made by the victim. However, victims of domestic violence are more likely than victims of other violent crime to recant or refuse to cooperate in prosecutorial efforts (Breitenbach, 2008, p. 1256). Officers must consider that victims of domestic violencemay refuse to testify because of fear of retaliation, intimidation, financial dependence, emotional attachment, and /or because they reunited with the batterer. If the victim refused to testify during court, their statement against the abuser becomes hearsay evidence. Thus, any out of court statements made by witnesses and/or victims to law enforcement must be excluded unless the defendant had prior opportunity to cross examine the unavailable witnesses (Byrom, 2005). The only non testimonial statements that would be utilized in court, without direct testimony from the witness and/or complainant, were the taped 911 phone calls reporting the incident. If the victim testified, their previous statements would be allowed as evidence without limitation because the witness was subjected to cross examination. However, if the victim refused to testify, any testimonials made to law enforcement were not allowed as evidence in the court proceedings. In light of these legal changes, officers needed to construct their domestic violence cases under the assumption that the victim would not be participating in the prosecution. The case commenced at the time the call was received by dispatch up until the case was presented to a judge or jury. Therefore, officers needed to complete the proper procedures to secure recordings of the calls made to the 911 dispatch center to report the domestic situation. In addition to having the subject, victim and/or witnesses complete written and/or video statements, the officer must diligently identify, collect, and photograph evidence at the crime scene (Ellison, 2002). This required officers to visit the victim several days later to photograph bruising, because some bruising ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this veil of ignorance, everyone is forced to ignore their own personal circumstances so they can be less bias when making a decision on justice. One must imagine that they have no idea where they are placed in the society. If a rich person imagines being in the worst possible class there is, their views on justice are likely to change. If they were once resentful of extra taxes coming out of their paychecks to help the poor, imagining themselves being poor would make them understand those extra taxes. Conversely, if a poor person imagines being extremely rich, they would not like to have restrictions on how much money they are allowed to make. Furthermore, this social contract is made voluntarily by members of the society to make it the most just. Since all of the people could potentially be in the same financial standing, they will give up what they feel is necessary to make the best bargain. Although each of these religions possess characteristics unique to itself, they share one thing in common in that they are all religions. Their classification as religions depend on the definition of the word: religion. Webster s Dictionary defines religion as The outward act or form by which men indicate their recognition of the existence of a god or of gods having power over their destiny, to whom obedience, service, and honor are due. Buddhists certainly recognize the existence of gods, and they practice many outward acts and forms to show this. Buddhists show their obedience, service, and honor to the Buddha, who is not a god, by memorizing and preaching his teachings, praying to him, dedicating temples and rituals to him, and making offerings to him. This is Webster s lone strong point in its definition of religion regarding Buddhism, and it fails to hold true. The Gautama Buddha claimed that people should not worship him, because he is now in Nirvana gone from existence. Therefore, there is no true obedience, service, or honor that is due to the Buddha or any god in Buddhism, because they have no power over one s destiny. If one were to exclude having power over their destiny, to whom obedience, service, and honor are due from Webster s definition, then perhaps Buddhism could be a religion according to Webster. This is certainly not the case in Buddhism. Gods do not hold any power over any being s destiny outside of their own. The good or bad karma a being generates is the destiny one constructs for itself. These myopic flaws of Webster s definition are impossible to ignore; based on its definition, Buddhism would not be a religion, and its definition would relegates Buddhism to nothing more than practices that appear to be religious but are ... Communism was a very popular ideology which was in great favor during the inter war period but in the 1980s, there was an unanticipated demise of Communism. So how can we explain the sudden collapse of communism in Europe? I would argue that there were several forces converging to the breakdown of communism in Eastern Europe. Factors such as the high expenses of engaging in nuclear arms, the lost of their satellite states, the growing economic disparity in Europe and the changing attitudes and values of the younger people converged together that brought communism to the brink of collapse in Europe. The disparity between the Soviet Union economy and that of the United States was what alerted Gorbachev that the Communist economy was not doing well. Soviet s command economy was not concerned with matching supply and demand but with administering inputs and outputs. In other words, the economy was detached from the consumer and producers. The Communist countries were unable to catch up with globalization because of the inadequate resources. USSR did not have the capital to modernize their industries. On top of that, there was a big gap in the quantity production and the quality was evidently poor as well. Much of the money that was needed for its economy went to nuclear arms, space technology and to support its eastern bloc countries. Economic problems, however, were not isolated to Russia alone, by 1989 the satellite states had accumulated a foreign debt of 49 billion, (Maier, 1997: 59). Economic and industrial progress degenerated further when the USSR withdrew its support from the satellite states that were heavily dependent on Russia. Anne Firor Scott On Seeing And Not Seeing Anne Firor Scott does not focus primarily on the Progressive Era, but instead on historical invisibility in her essay On Seeing and Not Seeing: A Case of Historical Invisibility . Historical invisibility in her treatise of the women s voluntary associations is what she aims to bring awareness for, she admits that there will always be partial vision to historyand asks questions what historians like herself, Mowry, and Huthmacher need to do to limit this effect. Not limiting its effect will lead to readers being fed misleading information or crucial details about their subject matters. Since her essay is not centered on changing the public s view of the Progressive Era it does not have enough substantive information to answer if women s associations were the most notable reformers of this era.... From the beginning of the 1800s, women s voluntary associations were few and did not address the prominent issues that future associations over the next century would handle; issues such as temperance, moral reform, education, needs of working women, antislavery, health, Americanizing Native Americans , conservation efforts, and international peacekeeping. Women were able to gain leverage for change over the period of the Civil War, which as it would for both World Wars generated financial and work opportunities that were otherwise not options for them as nurses, caretakers, and factory workers to name a few. Alcohol Expectancy Questionnaire Impact of Alcohol 1.None of the categories in the Alcohol Expectancy Questionnaire are sufficient reasons to consume alcohol throughout the day; however, many individuals do look at the use of alcohol in the ways listed in the categories. As unfortunate as it is, there are many different reasons people pick up a drink but they all ultimately believe the alcohol will help whatever situation they are in. What those individuals fail to realize is how alcohol works against those problems. In questions 1 5 they view it as a transforming agent by making the future seem brighter but alcohol only does that by impairing the cerebral cortex of the brain and causes them to make careless choices because alcohol tells them everything will be okay. When considering alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine, it is actually hard to classify them all as the same thing because they all have their own individual effects on the body. The classmate was correct when saying marijuana and alcohol have similar effects on behavior, but even then, they are only similar to a certain extent. Alcohol and marijuana are similar because they both act as a depressant on the body s nervous system when entered into the blood stream. Both substances cause the individual to become impaired in one way or another and lose the ability to do some of the things sober people can do. However, alcohol causes the body to lose balance, alter the individuals to speak properly, impairs their sleep cycle, and at times causes aggressive behavior. Marijuana, on the other hand, over activates the cannabinoid receptors causing a disruption of memory, alters perceptions in regards to sound and movement by slowing it down, and numbing portions of the body as a whole. When adding cocaine into the equation, that s where the comparison is thrown off completely. Cocaine does the complete opposite and acts as a stimulant by blocking the removal of dopamine in the synapses of the brain (National Institute of Drug Abuse) . Cocaine causes the consumer to be energetic, talkative, and mentally alert which later leads to them crashing and hitting an extreme low. Cocaine causes tachycardia, arrhythmia, abdominal pain, and possible strokes/seizures due to the long term respiratory problems. Though they are all different, the biggest problem in their statement was that they all should be legalized. • 41. Women s Suffrage By Susan B. Anthony Silver Dollar It s sobering to realize that it s only been 95 years since the first woman legally cast her ballot in an American presidential election. March is Women s History Month and before it s over for 2015, I d like to propose that we launch an effort to memorialize the immense contributions of the American women s suffrage leaders by adding their likeness to at least one of our pieces of currency. The Susan B. Anthony silver dollar had a short but awkward run from 1979 1981 and again in 1999 before production halted. In recent months, there have been discussions about replacing President Jackson on the $20 bill with someone else. Why not the three leading women who devoted their lives to the rights of women voters and changed the course of American history without ever casting a legal ballot of their own? In the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol stands a striking, white sculpture of three incredible women. It is the first sculpture in the Capitol sculpted by a woman (Adelaide Johnson), of women (Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott) and for women. The sculpture gives the appearance of being unfinished or incomplete as a way of illustrating that the contributions of women to American government are still taking place and will never be finished. Today, women have a voice in our government because of the sacrifices and courageous efforts of those first Women s Suffrage crusaders. They challenged convention, changed history and lived by the conviction of Susan B. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Meaning Of Life Gilberto Fernandez Mrs. Manley Philosophy 13 December 2017 The Evolution of the Meaning of Life The complex idea of the meaning of life came to be first through the Hindu teachings. The four main purposes of life are Dharma meaning to act virtuously and righteously. Artha means the prosperity and successfulness in one s life. Kama being the concept of whatever action a person makes, they will receive the same back. Moksha is the proceeding of a spirit into another being according to their past life. Following the Hindus, then came the Dao teachings of life, using the five elements earth, wind, fire, water, and air for fulfilling one s personal goal in accomplishing a successful life. Through the use of the elements, Daoists have found certain rules of nature that are shown in our human existence. Because of the elements, our lives are constantly affected by outside forces and by nature itself. Therefore knowledge of the principles of nature will help a person move from being troubled by outside forces to being led by the natural inside forces that are centered in peace beyond outside forces. By following Tao, or the way, one must mentally teach oneself the capabilities of being successful in life on Earth. Tao is not a god but more of a way or self encouragement type of movement. • 47. Biblical Eras Of Creation, The Patriarchs, And The Ketuvim Referred to as Tanak by Jews, the Hebrew Bible contains twenty four books characterized by three categories: The Torah, the Nevi im, and the Ketuvim, which outline the history and beliefs of the Jewish faith. The Torah, commonly known as the Law of Moses, contains the books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These five narrative books cover the Biblical eras of creation, the patriarchs, and the exodus. In Genesis 1, God created everything from nothing at His will in six days and proclaimed all of it good. Humankind was created, Adam and Eve, in God s image, and they lived in the pure garden of Eden. Sin is introduced to the world when a serpent convinces Eve, who subsequently convinces Adam, to eat from the the tree of good and evil, which God strictly forbade. God judged their sin, bans them from Eden, they went out in the world, and birthed sons Cain and Abel. After Cain killed Abel out of jealousy, God again judged sin by cursing Cain, but exemplified forgiveness in Genesis 6 through his promise to curse whoever tried to hurt him. Generations later, descendant of Adam, Noah, is introduced, as well as his wife Naamah and their sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. In Genesis 6, God decided to start over, but saved Noah, his family, and animals, by telling Noah to build an ark to endure the great flood. Noah fulfilled God s orders and built an alter to Him after the flood seceded, but his descendants prove the corruptness of humankind yet again and God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Legendary women such as Nefertiti and Cleopatra are the powerful faces of Ancient Egypt that are well known throughout the world, but the details on the lives of ordinary Egyptian women are much more obscure. Many goddesses and other important female figures have been a prevalent topic of study in the ancient Egyptian world, however, the knowledge of how normal women spent their days is not nearly as common. The development of the roles and status of women in ancient Egyptas well as their everyday lives and their impact on society was essential to the advancement of the civilization as a whole. The richest and most primary source other than written text was the artwork that is commonly associated with tombs; for instance, funerary models, reliefs, and wall paintings. Since men were typically the ones who would commission and create conceptual and representational art, many aspects of women s lives were ignored or neglected. It was also very rare for female roles to be included in historical documents from the era because they seldom held high government positions, even though the idea of women being in power was not unheard of or uncommon between 3,000 and 1,000 BC. This research paper will be exploring a wide variety of details in ancient Egyptian women s lives such as marriage, domestic living, legal and political rights, religion, and women of power.
