Mary As A Disciple ( Mariology )
Mary as a Disciple (Mariology)
Mary was the mother to Jesus Christ, the Messiah, and has been a focus of theological discussion
since about the second century. Mary comes from a long line of women in the bible. Prototypes, if
you will. These women throughout the Old Testament were chosen by God. This gave way to Mary
becoming the God bearer. A title that was given to her by the Council of Ephesus in 431 C.E.
This is obviously where all theological debate dealing with Mariology comes from. To Catholics,
Mary is a sign of hope in this fading world. To protestant Christians, Mary is also known as the
mother of God. However, many protestant theologians believe that Mary should be honored but
within certain limits. The Old Testament in the Holy Biblespecifically says in Exodus 34:14, Do
not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God . In the New
Testament it says in 1 John 5:21, Little children, keep yourselves from idols . Martin Luther (a
German professor of Theology, and founder of the Lutheran Church) was quick to say that Mary
should be honored but to only what is fitting. Karl Barth (a reformed protestant theologian)
explained that through Mary, Jesus was human, and through Jesus, she is the divine mother of
God, and is full of grace that was still given to her by God the Father. Avery Dulles talks of models
that churches should strive to uphold, and Mary (mother of God) resembles the church of Servant,

Relationship Analysis Between Statutes and Case Law
Relationship Analysis between Statutes and Case Law
Laws against discrimination in employment were developed to provide remedies for victims of this
unfortunate form of behavior that exists in America today. The following paper provides insight
into lawsuits based on discrimination in the areas of age, religion, and disability and the statutes that
provide complainants with the ability to seek relief from discriminatory practices.
Employment Law В– Age Discrimination
Smith v. City of Jackson, Mississippi
On March 30, 2005, the Supreme Court decided the case of Smith v. City of Jackson, Mississippi.

In 1966 the EEOC issued regulations that provided that employers must afford accommodation
unless it would cause a serious inconvenience to the conduct of business. In 1967, this regulation
was further refined to read undue hardship on the conduct of the employer s business. These
regulations were quickly challenged as was the EEOC authority to issue such regulations. (Foltin
Standish, 2004, p. 3). Finally, in 1972 Congress amended Title VII adding a new section 701(j),
which reads as follows:
The term religion includes all aspects of religious observance and practice, as well as belief, unless
an employer demonstrates that he is unable to reasonably accommodate to an employee s or
perspective employee s religious observance or practice without undue hardship on the conduct of
the employer s business.
This still left the defining of the terminology reasonably accommodate and undue hardship to the
legal system.
Case Law В– Trans World Airlines, Inc. v. Hardison
Background
In this case, Larry G. Hardison was an employee with TWA working as a clerk in the Stores
Department at its Kansas City base. This was an essential role in the Kansas City operation as
the Stores Department must operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. This was also a union
operation and Hardison was subject to a seniority system. Hardison was hired by TWA in June
1967 and in the spring of 1968 he began to study the religion known as the Worldwide Church of
God.

The Vietnam War In America
Effects of the Vietnam War in America The Vietnam War is perhaps one of the most unsupported
wars in American history. Perhaps the country s gradual involvement in this war is the reason why.
War usually isn t a good thing, but this time America was not happy about their involvement. The
Vietnam War had a significant effect on the social, economic, and cultural life of America. Initially
people in America were ignorant of the United Statesinvolvement in the war or they supported it.
People who supported it did so because they were afraid of communism (Source E). France had to
leave Vietnam because they lost the battle there, and Vietnam was leaning toward becoming
communist. In the 1950s and 1960s Americans thought communism would spread

Mononucleosis Symptoms and Treatment
First seen in 1889, Mononucleosis was originally named the DrГјsenfieber, or having a glandular
fever. They converted to the name we now know of mononucleosis in 1920 when they saw an
increasing the number of lymphocytes that were seen in the blood of a group of college
students who showed signs such as fevers and other distinct symptoms of this virus.
Mononucleosis was nicknamed mono , is an infectious agent caused by the Epstein Barr virus
(EBV). This infection is very common especially amongst the adolescents; another name that
this virus is labeled under is the kissing disease . EBV is scientifically classified to be a member
of the herpes family of viruses. An antibody that fights EBV can be detected in the blood streem
of most people by the time arrive at adult age. When this infection happens during childhood, the
virus almost absolutely yields no symptoms. only about 10% of those children that become
infected with EBV is estimated to develop the illness. In the same inference it is assumed that
due to the developed immunity, most adults probably will not developed the illness. In the U.S.,
there are up to 95% of adults ages 35 40 years that have antibodies directed against the EBV.
Unfortunately this is a clear indicator that most people have been infected with EBV at sometime
in their lives. This explain why some people are against their babies being kissed and makes you
wonder is the one that are open to just anyone kissing their children have this

Lakota Tribe
The Lakota are a sub nation from the Sioux of South Dakota, however, they are originally from
near the great lakes of Minnesota. According to the South Dakota State Historical Society
Education Kit the story of their migration to the plains goes a such, one day a man appeared, and
told them to travel northward. The Lakota obeyed, and began the journey north. On their way
they got cold, and the sun was too weak to cook their food. Two young men had a vision, and
following its instructions, they gathered dry grasses and struck two flint stones together, creating a
spark and making fire. There were seven groups of relatives traveling together. Each group took
some of the fire, and used it to build their own fire, around which they would gather. From that
moment on, they were known as the Seven Council Fires, or Oceti Sakowin.... Show more content

Lakota found the numbers 13 and 28 to be very important and later found some creatures that also
embodied the natural phenomenon like pattern of 13 and 28. For instance the keya has 13 large

Avoid Stereotypes In Hollywood
Hi Thang,
I like this because I support you about giving benefits for Hollywood such as awakening audience
s awareness about real image of the ethnic groups, producing chances for foreign actors, and
raising a lot of profits if Hollywood writers and directors have a social responsibility to avoid
stereotyping ethnic characters.
Base 1: Unity
1.Is there a clearly stated thesis in the introductory paragraph? Yes, you mentioned a clear thesis
statement at the end of the first paragraph, Hollywood writers and directors should have a social
responsibility to avoid stereotyping ethnic characters because it can help audience aware of the true
nature of ethnic groups, create more opportunity for foreign actors, and increase the profits for
Hollywood.

I knew more about benefits as well as positives for Hollywood if Hollywood writers and directors

could enjoy a new whiff of the wind in your essay.
Base 2: Support
1.Is there specific evidence? Yes, there was specific evidence that supported to giving benefits for
Hollywood.
2.Is there plenty of it? Yes, the evidence was very clear and helped the readers know the benefits of
Hollywood if Hollywood writers and directors have a social responsibility to avoid stereotypes.
My comments: I liked your sentence that you wrote in the third paragraph, Hollywood directors
do not give lead roles for Asian actors because they are fearing that Americans do not accept an
Asian face on the silver screen, not because there are not many talented Asian or their wage levels
are too high which is basically due to the fact that existed for more than half a century. Hollywood
directors had discrimination about color actors and did not acknowledge their talent for a long time,
so it leads to stereotyping ethnic characters.

What Is A Freudian Analysis Of Young Goodman Brown
The Intellectual Appeasement for a Psychosexual Author:
A Freudian Analysis of Young Goodman Brown
Nathaniel Hawthorne, was an author in the 19th century. He grew up in Massachusetts, in the town
of Salem. Hawthorne s ancestral family was very influential, wealthy and viewed as upstanding
puritans. In fact, his great great grandfather held a pivotal role of a judge, during the 16th century,
Salem witch trials. Hawthorne strongly believed that the wrongdoing of one generation lives into
the successive ones (Quotery). That being said, he convinced himself to be the successor of his
family s puritanical behavior. While reading Hawthorne s literary work Young Goodman Brown , I
can infer the story s underlying motivation is driven by the author s guilt, for having puritan
ancestors. In addition, we must apply Sigmund Freud s psychoanalytic criticism to analyze
Hawthorne s literature. Sigmund Freud is the founding father of psychoanalytic criticism; whose
theories and practices provided him the foundation for his critical method. Freud believed people
had suppressed desires they unconsciously refused to confront. Thus, Freud concluded that the
unconscious component of a human s mind contains...[their] biographical memories but also
stores...[their] suppressed and unresolved conflicts (Bressler 125). For this reason, Hawthorne s
irrational thoughts and desires, become evident in his writing. For this purpose, I will apply Freud s
three part structural model, (the superego,

La Raza Unida Party And Brown Beret Recruitment Literature
Throughout the 20th century, Los Angeles emerged as a place of multiculturalist struggles. One of
these struggles, was that of the Mexican population, which is what the book Mi Raza Primero
focuses on. In Mi Raza Primero by Ernesto Chavez, Chavez successfully argues how the collapse of
the Chicano movement resulted from the failure to identify the multi faceted and dynamic
/heterogeneous nature of the ethnic Mexican community. He argues how this failure resulted in a
movement that shared a strong sense of cultural nationalism, yet differed in tactics and goals.
Chavez uses the examination of La Raza Unida Partyand Brown Beret recruitment literature to help
support his argument. Specifically, Chavez focuses on the voting data from the late... Show more

The Brown Berets clearly recruited a specific person, thus being unable to assemble a wide array of
people from the Chicano population to reach significant reform. On top of the failure of identity
in the Chicano movement, the movement did not have much political success. La Raza Unida
Party was a party that formed as a response to the violence of Chicano activist demonstrations,
deciding that to achieve reform, peaceful actions were necessary. Activists in this party agreed on
the need for Chicano political activism but had a tough time agreeing on how to achieve it.
Multiple conferences called within Southern California chapters resulted in no clear unification or
coordination. Even though the common goal to get a single member of the Chicano movement in
elected office was shared, the lack of a clear position on what the party wanted to achieve and the
strategy for achieving it led to major contradictions. Chavez states, the only common feature
among party chapters was a commitment to vote Chicanos into office. The lack of organization
and common agendas led to disagreements between branches; for example the Texas LRUP to
break off from the California LRUP, as Chavez mentions. The LRUP never succeeded in its

For example, the original thirteen colonies that Britain established on North America s east
coast have gone on to become the world s main superpower, the United States of America.
Britain s colony in China, Hong Kong, has gone on to become Asia s premiere financial center
with Singapore (another British jewel) trailing just behind. Even Britain s prisoners set up the
only first world country in the Southern Hemisphere, Australia! Compare this to Spain s
imperial efforts, for example Mexico is the only third world country in North America and has
always struggled to overcome a legal system plagued with corruption. Why is it that the British
colonies were so successful and the colonies of other countries such failures in comparison? I
feel the answer to that is British law. British law has been a keystone in these colonies success.
Their political ideals have helped sculpt the success stories of the modern world, albeit there have
been some failures such as India and Rhodesia where there were civilians revolting against their
new leaders. The British education system helped produce a new class of educated Africans and
Asians that were able seek employment once they had completed their schooling.
16th Century Imperialism
Imperialism in the fifteenth century was new and exciting, the rules were unwritten. People
believed back then that the civilized world back owed it to the rest of the world

The Structure And Building Of Sophisticated Tunnels
In the mining world, there are three different types of tunnels. There are rudimentary,
interconnecting, and sophisticated but this paper will only focus on the structure and building of
sophisticated tunnels. Some features of a sophisticated tunnel are that it reach as deep as seventy
feet underground and tall and wide enough for an adult to walk through or for a mine cart to be
pushed through. When building these sophisticated tunnels, first the earth is chipped away by
handheld electric spades and the workers are filling sandbags with dirt and rocks in order to have
the clearest pathway in the tunnel. Then the rail systems tart to get set up where it s just a large
metal crate connected to an electric pulley system in order to get the sandbags with dirt and rocks
out of the tunnel.
A structural feature about these tunnels is that the ceiling would be slightly arched in order to
distribute the pressure and weight of the earth to prevent a collapse. Another feature of
sophisticated tunnels is the ventilation when a black plastic tubes connected by pipe clamps
would be affixed to the top of the tunnel in order to provide oxygen for the workers. The rail
system that was in sophisticated tunnels was two metal tracks that were laid down to bring debris
to the surface by the elevator in order to get it out of the way. In sophisticated tunnels, usually there
would be wood or concrete enforcement along the walls in order to prevent the tunnel from caving
in.

Reading is an attempt to absorb the thought of the author and know what the author is conveying
(Leedy 1956). Studying is the interpretation of reading materials. Study habits and skills are
particularly important for college students, whose needs include time management, note taking,
Internet skill, the elimination of distractions, and assigning a high priority to study. . Marcus
CredГ© and Nathan R. Kuncel (2008) in their research at the University of Albany said that Study
habit, skill, and attitude inventories and constructs were found to rival standardized tests and
previous grades as predictors of academic performance, yielding substantial incremental validity in
predicting academic performance. The meta analysis examined the construct validity and predictive
validity of 10 study skill constructs for college students. They found that study skill inventories and
constructs are largely independent of both high school grades and scores on standardized admissions
tests but moderately related to various personality constructs; these results were inconsistent with
previous theories. Study motivation and study skills exhibit the strongest relationships with both
grade point average and grades in individual classes. They also said that Academic specific anxiety
was found to be an important negative predictor of performance. In addition, significant variation in
the validity of specific inventories is shown. Scores on traditional study habit

History of Nigerian Ports Authority
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
The history of port development in Nigeria dates back to the middle of 19th century. This was
long after the onset of sea borne trade and transactions which followed the adventures of early
explorations on the African coasts. Initial efforts towards provision of facilities for ocean going
vessels were the attempts to open up the entrance to the Lagos Lagoon. Considerable littoral drift
occurred along this coast; and the constantly shifting channels in the bar at the entrance made entry
very difficult.
On February 1, 1914, the first mail steamer S/S AKOKO drawing 5.64 metres entered the Lagos
harbour. Two months later, vessels began to use the facilities provided at the Customs wharf on
Lagos Island.
Prior to this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Authority also within this period continued to sustain the efforts already made towards
expansion of ports facilities in Lagos and Port Harcourt. In Lagos, six berths of 943 metres were
added to the existing ones, while four berths with a total quay length of 506 metres were added to
the facilities and steps were taken to mechanize the traffic operations in these ports. In this era, port
development approach became tailored along declared national objectives. The Authority s
development strategy became programmed to fall in line with the first National Development Plan
1962 1968. The second Apapa Wharf Extension was executed and so also were further
improvements of port facilities in Port Harcourt. The sum N45M was spent during this period on
the two ports.
CIVIL WAR ERA 1967 1970
This period had tremendous impact on the ports industry in Nigeria. The security aspect of ports
came into sharp focus. Port Harcourt (Rivers Ports) was closed to foreign traffic. Lagos thus
became the only available port serving the country s maritime transportation needs.
The Federal Military Government enacted a special decree which empowered the Nigerian Ports
Authority to acquire the ports of Warri, Burutu and Calabar, previously operated by private
entrepreneurs. Holts Transport were former owners of Warri Port, UAC owned Burutu Port.
Calabar Port was originally owned by five operators. NPA spent N3.35 million at the time to
acquire these

Approximately 0.76% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race (Hickory County,

county was $32,122 and the median income for a family was $28,779. Males had a median
income of $22,679 versus $17,610 for females. The per capita income for the county was
$18.153. About 13.00% of families and 19.70% of the population were below the poverty line,
including 32.90% of those under age 18 and 11.00% of those age 65 or over (Total employer

income of U.S ($53,889). It may increase homeless population in the future. The percent of high

Social Impact Of The Columbian Exchange
The Columbian Exchange, derived from the voyages of Columbus to the Americas, was a chapter
in history that connected the Old World to the New World by exchanging crops, culture, and
technology. The Columbian Exchange in the Western Hemisphere resulted in extensive
demographic, social, economic, and environmental changes. The arrival of Europeans to Native
American land produced an intense mixture of culture and population fluctuation. Not only did this
exchange affect the social aspect between the two nations, it changed the way people engaged in
trade and proprietary interests, which would lead to a massive destruction and transformation of the
environment. When connecting the two worlds, Columbus also unintentionally connected two...

Native Americans represent a very small percentage of the diversity in America. With the
introduction of new resources found desirable in the new environment by the colonists and new
products imported from Europe, Native Americans were launched into a brand new world of
commerce to keep up with the quick pace of the developments. The Europeans valued the fur of
buffaloes while Native Americans soon became dependent on the manufactured goods the fur trade

contact, animals became regarded as a form of property and crucial components of Navajo and
Pueblo economy (Page 13). Accordingly, Native Americans engaged in trade with Europeans way
more than they had with each other before the arrival, boosting the rate of economic activity in the
New World. Adding on, many colonists emigrated to America in order to gain economic freedom
which came with owning property. However, Indian peoples generally regarded land as something

The Consequences Of Betrayal In The Adventures Of Ulysses
Betrayal Betrayal is the action of deception against one s country, group, or a person. This action
is both noted in novels and in the real world. The novel The Adventures of Ulysses by Bernard
Evslin describes a scene in which two men betray Ulysses by opening a bag of winds. In the real
world, a mannamed Edward Snowden betrays his country by revealing classified information he
was entrusted with. The two situations of betrayal are justified and not justified throughout the
texts they are mentioned in. In the novel, The Adventures of Ulysses, Ulysses was guarding a bag
of winds given to him by Aeolus. He stood awake day and night protecting the bag from the
wondering minds of his crew, but when his eyes gave out, two men took... Show more content on

Thus, the two men should have thought a bit more before opening the sack and delaying their
arrival to their home. Overall, even though I understand the reason the two men did their action
for, I don t accept that the men were justified for betraying Ulysses. The two men knew Ulysses
was an equitable man and he had proven many times that he was trustworthy. Two articles from
NewsEla give information about Edward Snowden and how he revealed how the American
democracy is disappearing like our privacy. He exposed the NSA by informing the population that
they were collecting Americans phone records. Nevertheless, even though he is going to face the
consequences of his actions, he had a justified reason for doing what he did. First of all, it was
revealed that the information collected by the NSA was used against citizens who were
participating in low key protests. Secondly, the government ignored terrorist information and
focused on the information of the innocent. In an article by Mark Weisbrot for NewsEla it states,
However there is a mountain of evidence that this massive data gathering is, in fact, being used
against citizens who are involved in activities that are protected by our Constitution....As a result,
they seem to have ignored the intelligence that was literally handed to them about the terrorists who
bombed the Boston Marathon in April. This indicates that the government has been eavesdropping

Rape And Drug Wars Analysis
I can entirely agree with your response to this week s readings. To begin, I really liked that you
could relate Femicide and Drug Wars to a personal story because it definitely helps other reading
relate to the material and understand that rape and drug dealing is not as far from home as we
think. Personally, I think that one of the themes that really struck me while reading this article was
that you can t trust others, even those who are meant to protect you. Just like you, I did a little bit
of my own research and found out that in most cases of rape, the offender is someone the victim
knew or was close to. So it definitely leaves you wondering if our law enforcement units are really
mentally equipped to do their job. As well, you mentioned

Refugees In Ann Coulter s Essay
Dread, terror, and fear, creeping through the walls, continues to corrupt American morals, minute by
minute. With the onslaught of the Paris attacks, the question of whether or not America should
accept more refugees now governs over American politics, originally a question that does not need
questioning. Recently, Ann Coulter, an extreme conservative, posted an article named Importing
Terrorism and Other American Values regarding America s vetting process and America s
obligation towards refugees. Within her article, she ventures to devalue the vetting process and
denounce refugees and immigrants alike as crimecarriers. Although her argument appears both
logical and reasonable superficially, Coulter not only fails to cite her sources, but also
demonstrates consistent mastery of logical fallacies, misuse of evidence, and shallow knowledge
regarding immigrant and crime statistics. Coulter begins her article quoting President Obama, who
referred to the rejection of refugees as, a betrayal of our [American] values (cite1). She raises
concerns over the lack of protection for American citizens stating, Contrary to Obama s laughable
reference to the universal values that all of humanity share, most of the world does not... Show more

As a matter of fact, Coulter weaves strong emotions and mockery of others in her article, resorting
to unfounded ad hominem several times. Her constant fallacious logic not only misleads the reader,
but also discredits herself as a person. Not only so, she blatantly uses outdated and uncredible
evidence, which may work for the general reader who may not have time to research. This cheap
shot by Coulter can not go ignored, and the public must not consider her article as relevant or
true. From a scale of 0 10, Coulter s article has an integrity and credibility that goes off the charts,
as she fails to provided sources, misuses her evidence, and uses fallacious

The NBA Should Enforce a Hard Salary Cap
How many of you sports fans out there are sick of paying twenty five dollars for a lousy seat at an
NBA game? How many of you are sick of seeing the same teams in the finals every year? I m sure
there are thousands of you out there that feel this way, as do I. The way we can fix these problems
is to demand that the NBA enforce a hard salary cap. A hard salary cap would lower ticketprices,
allow for more teams to be more competitive and eliminate the possibility of any future lockouts. If
the three things listed above aren t met, it s hard to say if the NBA will survive at all. I want to see
the NBA survive, but not in the way things are being run now. A hard salary cap is the only way...

( 1 ) The players realize that they are eliminating their average fan and they don t care. We as fans
should not pay these outlandish ticket prices. A hard salary cap is the only thing that will lower
salaries and ticket prices. If ticket prices aren t lowered, I personally feel that the players can kiss
their pay checks goodbye. But what do other people think.
Some people believe that NBA arenas will fill up in spite of high ticket prices. Just last year
Michael Jordan made 33.14 million dollars while the whole Chicago Bulls salary cap was 26.9
million, and all season long seats were filled. That means to some that no matter the amount, people
will continue to attend NBA games.
To the people that believe this, I must remind them of Major League Baseball and the situation
that they faced just a few years back. First, players salaries skyrocketed to obscene levels,
alienating their average fan. Next, the players couldn t decide how to divide up their millions.
Finally, they quit playing the game and their fans quit caring about Major League Baseball.
Does any of this sound familiar? This is exactly what s happening in the NBA right now. If it
happened to the American Pastime it can, and certainly will, happen to the NBA. Yet people, in
spite of the lower ticket prices provided by a hard salary cap, aren t convinced that a hard salary
cap is a good idea. They feel that players

Summary Of Working With Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence and its Application to Nursing Practice Emotional intelligence is your
ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability to use this
awareness to manage your behavior and relationships (Bradberry Jean, 2009). Emotional
intelligence was developed in 1990 and its popularity has grown in the 21st century (Marquis
Hutson, 2015). The book Emotional Intelligence2.0 outlines four different skills that a person must
improve on to increase their emotional intelligenceand the book Working with Emotional
Intelligence identifies five different components of emotional intelligence. Some of the skills from

Describe The Relationship Between Samsov And Gumbinnenkampf
On August 26, 1914, the German 8th Army, under the leadership of Paul von Hindenburg and Erich
Ludendorff, strikes with lethal force against the advancing Russian 2nd Army, led by General
Aleksandr Samsonov, in East Prussia during the opening weeks of the First World War.
In the middle of August 1914, much sooner than had been anticipated, Russia sent two armies into
East Prussia, while Germany, according to its war strategy, had the bulk of its forces concentrated to
the west, against France. The Russian 1st Army, under General Pavel Rennenkampf, advanced to
the northeastern corner of East Prussia, while Samsonov s 2nd Army made headway into the
southwest, planning to join with Rennenkampf s men and pin the outnumbered German 8th Army

Though Ludendorff succumbed to nerves initially, delaying the start of the German attack by one
day, Hindenburg was able to calm his subordinate not for the last time in what would become a
fabled partnership. On August 26, after intercepting uuencoded wireless messages from both
Samsonov and Rennenkampf, the Germans were able to take Samsonov s army by surprise with
the force of their attack near the village of Tannenberg, to the southwest of the Masurian Lakes. The
delay in starting the attack had given Samsonov s forces more time to advance deeper into the sack
formed by the German divisions enveloping them from both sides, the strength of which Samsonov
consistently underestimated. After three days of battering by German artillery, Samsonov s troops
began their retreat; more German forces cut off their path and a massive slaughter ensued. In the
first hours of August 30, confronting the reality of his army s collapse, Samsonov went into the
forest, away from his staff, and shot

Essay about Good Will Hunting
Good Will Hunting is a film which conveys many interlocking themes and messages to its
viewers. One of these nicely woven themes is placing trust in the people we care about as well as
people we have only recently become acquainted with. Another message, arguably more
significant than the last is finding and pursuing the potential one has and bringing meaning into
our lives in any form we choose. I believe the potential and success this film demonstrates is that
success, growth, and meaning in a person s life does not always have to come in the form of
advancing in a career or social status but rather in the form of overcoming hardships and
developing close reciprocating relationships. The character this film is primarily centered... Show

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cast Iron And...
INTRODUCTION
Even though the actual condition is much more complex, wrought iron, cast iron and steel can be
thought of alloys made of iron and carbon.
Iron is basically extracted from natural ores iron oxide (FeO). Iron oxide heated to high
temperatures become iron.
FeO + C в†’ Fe + CO
We get pig iron from this process which is not pure form and includes Iron carbide and material is
made hard along with brittleness.
CAST IRON
Cast iron is produced by remelting pig iron with some amount of scrap iron. It is remelted by
blowing air into the molten mass of two until the carbon content is between 2.40 and 4.00 percent.
Thus contemporary cast iron is formed which exists in two forms : grey cast iron and white cast
iron.

WROUGHT IRON
Wrought iron is produced by reprocessing cast iron. The strength limitations of cast iron were
gradually overcome by the development of a process called puddling . Puddling involves reheating
cast iron and manually mixing air in the molten form. Due to its nature, the process could only
produce small volumes at a time. The material produced by this method has high tensile strengths
and was much more ductile than cast iron. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ethical Problems With Drones
Ethical Problems with Drone Usage Drones are a new and versatile technology with a multitude
of positive commercial, private, and governmental uses. They are much more than just an
invasion of privacy, when used in the hands of an experienced pilot with a good moral compass.
Commercial Drone Use Tim Yakaitis of Connecticut uses drones for filming property for real
estate listings and other services in his company DroneOn (Townsend, 2014). A simple
quadcopter drone with a GoPro camera hanging underneath, is all that is necessary for him to run
this niche business, which he supplements with commercial landscape photography from his
drone and on the ground. Commercial drones are a reasonably new niche for public drone use,
due to the recent innovation of working quad rotor drones versus the typical single fixed blade
like a helicopter (Rothstein, 2015). Quad rotor designed drones allow for greatly increased
stability and hover ability, at the cost of reduced speed (Rothstein, 2015). This stability and hover
increase has put commercial drones on the map especially for use in cheap aerial photography
(Rothstein, 2015).. Private Use In the private research and conservation spheres of drone use,

Oxygen During Exercises
When i exercised my heart beat faster, this is in order to speed up the transport of blood in the
cardiovascular system. This is because as the muscles begin to work harder during the exercise
they will need more oxygen, and glucose and nutrients in order to give the muscles energy as they
work harder. This also means that they produce more carbon dioxide as they use up the oxygenso the
heartmust also pump the bloodto the lungs faster in order to get the carbon dioxide out of the body
and to exchange it for more oxygen.
You could test this by testing how much oxygen and carbon dioxide someone breaths when they

The Pros And Cons Of Home Schooling
These days one of the biggest stresses resting on a parent s shoulders is finding the right school to
send their children to. What programs do the local public or private schools offer? What is the
demographic and culture of the school? Does their child have a special need that the school can
accommodate? Parents are willing to sell their dream homes to move to another district just to get
the best educationfor their child. However, in many cases parents can easily answer these questions
with one solution, home schooling. Despite much criticism, home schooling is a very flexible and
individualized solution for parents.
Home schooling is an alternative to public schooling where the student is taught at home instead of
in a classroom. Parents have the freedom in most cases to decide what curriculum their children
studies. Many parents choose to home school for religious independence or to protect them from the
public school s lack of programs and funding. It is an option that is legal to anyone in the US with
very few law restriction, in most states, and no educational background necessary from the parents.
If the child is not enrolled in a special home schooling program regulated by the state there is no
funding from the state for home schooled students and in most cases funded by the parents. There
are many resources, programs and groups available to home schooling parents. Home schooling
parents have the option to build a schedule that fits their lifestyle and adds more

The Positive And Negative Effects Of Altruism
Suppose a reader is reading a mystery novel and he is close to completing the book; however, it
is very late at night and he has to wake up early the next morning. He has two options: he can
finish the book, fulfill his desire to know who killed the victim, and not get the proper amount of
sleep he needs, or he can go to sleep, receive plenty of rest, feel refreshed the next morning, and
wait until that evening to finish the novel. He would be altruistic to his body and his health if he
went to bed early; however, he would be selfish to his body if he stayed up and finished the novel
(Le Morvan). Altruism, which has both positive and negative effects, is a controversial character
trait; however, it ultimately promotes compassion for the human race and help for the ecosystem.
In a world where altruism exists, selfishness exists as well (Le Morvan). Selfishness is when a
person puts his or her interests before other people s interests, and altruism is when a person puts
other people s interests before his or her own interests (Le Morvan). Martin Luther King believed
with all of his heart and soul that every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of
creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness (Soosai Nathan). People have a choice

My First Buck
It was a bitter cold November morning. November 15 to be exact. This is a very special day to my
family and I. We woke up early that morning to get ready for the exciting day ahead of us. We
bundled up in many layers of clothes and made some cofee for my Dad.
We then set off to the blind before the trophies come out. As I was walking to the blind I could see
my breath. As the sun set over the leafless trees, we began to start hearing some life throughout
the woods. Although the movement we have heard has not been the trophy we have been
looking for it just keeps my heart pumping. We have probably been in the blind for about 5 hours
so we decided to go grab something to eat from the truck when suddenly we heard heavy
footsteps right behind our blind which is where the door is. I creeked the door open and what I
saw made my heart go a million miles a second. 3 doe stood behind us creeping around. They
seemed very sketchy so immediatly we closed the door and waited for them to come around to the
front of the blind. The day got so much better knowing that there are deer in this area. Even though
they were doe we still had the thought in our mind that a trophy buck might just pass through
here looking for a mate. We watched the deer walk about 30 yards in front of us for about 20

  • 2. Mary As A Disciple ( Mariology ) Mary as a Disciple (Mariology) Mary was the mother to Jesus Christ, the Messiah, and has been a focus of theological discussion since about the second century. Mary comes from a long line of women in the bible. Prototypes, if you will. These women throughout the Old Testament were chosen by God. This gave way to Mary becoming the God bearer. A title that was given to her by the Council of Ephesus in 431 C.E. This is obviously where all theological debate dealing with Mariology comes from. To Catholics, Mary is a sign of hope in this fading world. To protestant Christians, Mary is also known as the mother of God. However, many protestant theologians believe that Mary should be honored but within certain limits. The Old Testament in the Holy Biblespecifically says in Exodus 34:14, Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God . In the New Testament it says in 1 John 5:21, Little children, keep yourselves from idols . Martin Luther (a German professor of Theology, and founder of the Lutheran Church) was quick to say that Mary should be honored but to only what is fitting. Karl Barth (a reformed protestant theologian) explained that through Mary, Jesus was human, and through Jesus, she is the divine mother of God, and is full of grace that was still given to her by God the Father. Avery Dulles talks of models that churches should strive to uphold, and Mary (mother of God) resembles the church of Servant, Community, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The following paper provides insight into lawsuits based on discrimination in the areas of age, religion, and disability and the statutes that provide complainants with the ability to seek relief from discriminatory practices. Employment Law В– Age Discrimination Smith v. City of Jackson, Mississippi On March 30, 2005, the Supreme Court decided the case of Smith v. City of Jackson, Mississippi. These regulations were quickly challenged as was the EEOC authority to issue such regulations. (Foltin Standish, 2004, p. 3). Finally, in 1972 Congress amended Title VII adding a new section 701(j), which reads as follows: The term religion includes all aspects of religious observance and practice, as well as belief, unless an employer demonstrates that he is unable to reasonably accommodate to an employee s or perspective employee s religious observance or practice without undue hardship on the conduct of the employer s business. Perhaps the country s gradual involvement in this war is the reason why. War usually isn t a good thing, but this time America was not happy about their involvement. The Vietnam War had a significant effect on the social, economic, and cultural life of America. Initially people in America were ignorant of the United Statesinvolvement in the war or they supported it. People who supported it did so because they were afraid of communism (Source E). When this infection happens during childhood, the virus almost absolutely yields no symptoms. only about 10% of those children that become infected with EBV is estimated to develop the illness. In the U.S., there are up to 95% of adults ages 35 40 years that have antibodies directed against the EBV. • 9. What Is A Freudian Analysis Of Young Goodman Brown The Intellectual Appeasement for a Psychosexual Author: A Freudian Analysis of Young Goodman Brown Nathaniel Hawthorne, was an author in the 19th century. He grew up in Massachusetts, in the town of Salem. Hawthorne s ancestral family was very influential, wealthy and viewed as upstanding puritans. In fact, his great great grandfather held a pivotal role of a judge, during the 16th century, Salem witch trials. Hawthorne strongly believed that the wrongdoing of one generation lives into the successive ones (Quotery). That being said, he convinced himself to be the successor of his family s puritanical behavior. While reading Hawthorne s literary work Young Goodman Brown , I can infer the story s underlying motivation is driven by the author s guilt, for having puritan ancestors. In addition, we must apply Sigmund Freud s psychoanalytic criticism to analyze Hawthorne s literature. Sigmund Freud is the founding father of psychoanalytic criticism; whose theories and practices provided him the foundation for his critical method. Freud believed people had suppressed desires they unconsciously refused to confront. Thus, Freud concluded that the unconscious component of a human s mind contains...[their] biographical memories but also stores...[their] suppressed and unresolved conflicts (Bressler 125). For this reason, Hawthorne s irrational thoughts and desires, become evident in his writing. For this purpose, I will apply Freud s three part structural model, (the superego, ... The Brown Berets clearly recruited a specific person, thus being unable to assemble a wide array of people from the Chicano population to reach significant reform. On top of the failure of identity in the Chicano movement, the movement did not have much political success. La Raza Unida Party was a party that formed as a response to the violence of Chicano activist demonstrations, deciding that to achieve reform, peaceful actions were necessary. Activists in this party agreed on the need for Chicano political activism but had a tough time agreeing on how to achieve it. Multiple conferences called within Southern California chapters resulted in no clear unification or coordination. Even though the common goal to get a single member of the Chicano movement in elected office was shared, the lack of a clear position on what the party wanted to achieve and the strategy for achieving it led to major contradictions. Chavez states, the only common feature among party chapters was a commitment to vote Chicanos into office. Britain s colony in China, Hong Kong, has gone on to become Asia s premiere financial center with Singapore (another British jewel) trailing just behind. Even Britain s prisoners set up the only first world country in the Southern Hemisphere, Australia! Compare this to Spain s imperial efforts, for example Mexico is the only third world country in North America and has always struggled to overcome a legal system plagued with corruption. Why is it that the British colonies were so successful and the colonies of other countries such failures in comparison? I feel the answer to that is British law. British law has been a keystone in these colonies success. Their political ideals have helped sculpt the success stories of the modern world, albeit there have been some failures such as India and Rhodesia where there were civilians revolting against their new leaders. The British education system helped produce a new class of educated Africans and Asians that were able seek employment once they had completed their schooling. 16th Century Imperialism Imperialism in the fifteenth century was new and exciting, the rules were unwritten. There are rudimentary, interconnecting, and sophisticated but this paper will only focus on the structure and building of sophisticated tunnels. Some features of a sophisticated tunnel are that it reach as deep as seventy feet underground and tall and wide enough for an adult to walk through or for a mine cart to be pushed through. When building these sophisticated tunnels, first the earth is chipped away by handheld electric spades and the workers are filling sandbags with dirt and rocks in order to have the clearest pathway in the tunnel. Then the rail systems tart to get set up where it s just a large metal crate connected to an electric pulley system in order to get the sandbags with dirt and rocks out of the tunnel. A structural feature about these tunnels is that the ceiling would be slightly arched in order to distribute the pressure and weight of the earth to prevent a collapse. Another feature of sophisticated tunnels is the ventilation when a black plastic tubes connected by pipe clamps would be affixed to the top of the tunnel in order to provide oxygen for the workers. The rail system that was in sophisticated tunnels was two metal tracks that were laid down to bring debris to the surface by the elevator in order to get it out of the way. • 15. History of Nigerian Ports Authority HISTORICAL BACKGROUND The history of port development in Nigeria dates back to the middle of 19th century. This was long after the onset of sea borne trade and transactions which followed the adventures of early explorations on the African coasts. Initial efforts towards provision of facilities for ocean going vessels were the attempts to open up the entrance to the Lagos Lagoon. Considerable littoral drift occurred along this coast; and the constantly shifting channels in the bar at the entrance made entry very difficult. On February 1, 1914, the first mail steamer S/S AKOKO drawing 5.64 metres entered the Lagos harbour. Two months later, vessels began to use the facilities provided at the Customs wharf on Lagos Island. Prior to this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this era, port development approach became tailored along declared national objectives. The Authority s development strategy became programmed to fall in line with the first National Development Plan 1962 1968. The second Apapa Wharf Extension was executed and so also were further improvements of port facilities in Port Harcourt. The sum N45M was spent during this period on the two ports. CIVIL WAR ERA 1967 1970 This period had tremendous impact on the ports industry in Nigeria. The security aspect of ports came into sharp focus. Port Harcourt (Rivers Ports) was closed to foreign traffic. Lagos thus became the only available port serving the country s maritime transportation needs. This action is both noted in novels and in the real world. The novel The Adventures of Ulysses by Bernard Evslin describes a scene in which two men betray Ulysses by opening a bag of winds. In the real world, a mannamed Edward Snowden betrays his country by revealing classified information he was entrusted with. The two situations of betrayal are justified and not justified throughout the texts they are mentioned in. He exposed the NSA by informing the population that they were collecting Americans phone records. Nevertheless, even though he is going to face the consequences of his actions, he had a justified reason for doing what he did. Personally, I think that one of the themes that really struck me while reading this article was that you can t trust others, even those who are meant to protect you. • 25. Refugees In Ann Coulter s Essay Dread, terror, and fear, creeping through the walls, continues to corrupt American morals, minute by minute. With the onslaught of the Paris attacks, the question of whether or not America should accept more refugees now governs over American politics, originally a question that does not need questioning. Recently, Ann Coulter, an extreme conservative, posted an article named Importing Terrorism and Other American Values regarding America s vetting process and America s obligation towards refugees. Within her article, she ventures to devalue the vetting process and denounce refugees and immigrants alike as crimecarriers. Although her argument appears both logical and reasonable superficially, Coulter not only fails to cite her sources, but also demonstrates consistent mastery of logical fallacies, misuse of evidence, and shallow knowledge regarding immigrant and crime statistics. Coulter begins her article quoting President Obama, who referred to the rejection of refugees as, a betrayal of our [American] values (cite1). How many of you are sick of seeing the same teams in the finals every year? I m sure there are thousands of you out there that feel this way, as do I. The way we can fix these problems is to demand that the NBA enforce a hard salary cap. A hard salary cap would lower ticketprices, allow for more teams to be more competitive and eliminate the possibility of any future lockouts. If ticket prices aren t lowered, I personally feel that the players can kiss their pay checks goodbye. But what do other people think. Some people believe that NBA arenas will fill up in spite of high ticket prices. Just last year Michael Jordan made 33.14 million dollars while the whole Chicago Bulls salary cap was 26.9 million, and all season long seats were filled. That means to some that no matter the amount, people will continue to attend NBA games. To the people that believe this, I must remind them of Major League Baseball and the situation that they faced just a few years back. First, players salaries skyrocketed to obscene levels, alienating their average fan. Next, the players couldn t decide how to divide up their millions. Finally, they quit playing the game and their fans quit caring about Major League Baseball. Does any of this sound familiar? This is exactly what s happening in the NBA right now. INTRODUCTION Even though the actual condition is much more complex, wrought iron, cast iron and steel can be thought of alloys made of iron and carbon. FeO + C в†’ Fe + CO We get pig iron from this process which is not pure form and includes Iron carbide and material is made hard along with brittleness. CAST IRON Cast iron is produced by remelting pig iron with some amount of scrap iron. It is remelted by blowing air into the molten mass of two until the carbon content is between 2.40 and 4.00 percent.
