Essay On What Is Education
Crafting an essay on the concept of education presents a multifaceted challenge that extends
beyond the mere act of putting words on paper. The difficulty lies not only in the vast expanse of
the topic but also in the necessity to encapsulate its nuanced dimensions. Education, as a subject,
is intricate, encompassing various theories, historical perspectives, and contemporary debates.
Attempting to define the essence of education demands a delicate balance between providing a
comprehensive overview and delving into specific facets. There is a constant struggle to navigate
through the plethora of philosophical viewpoints, from traditional approaches to modern
educational paradigms. Each perspective carries its weight, and finding the equilibrium between
them requires a meticulous understanding of the subject matter.
Moreover, the challenge is compounded by the dynamic nature of education. It is an ever-
evolving entity influenced by societal shifts, technological advancements, and cultural dynamics.
To encapsulate this dynamism within the confines of an essay is no small feat, as it necessitates
an acute awareness of current educational trends and a foresight into potential future
developments.
Additionally, the difficulty lies in avoiding the trap of superficiality. Education is not a
monolithic concept; it encompasses formal and informal learning, individual and societal
dimensions, and global and local perspectives. Striking a balance between depth and breadth is a
perpetual struggle, as the risk of oversimplification looms large.
Furthermore, articulating one's thoughts coherently while maintaining an engaging narrative adds
another layer of complexity. The essay must not only convey information but also evoke a
reader's interest, encouraging them to contemplate the intricate tapestry of education.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the profound subject of education is akin to navigating a
labyrinth of ideas, theories, and perspectives. It demands a keen intellect, a nuanced
understanding of the topic, and a mastery of language to convey complex concepts with clarity.
The endeavor is not merely an exercise in writing; it is a pursuit of unraveling the layers that
constitute the essence of education.

Use Of Dramatic Irony In The Cask Of Amontillado
The cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe Edgar Allen Poe was an American
author known for having a mysterious dark side. He mostly used creepy narrator s
to tell his story s to add that eerie and disturbing feeling that makes the hairs on your
neck stand up. Poe s stories were typically tales using Irony. In The Cask of
AmontilladoPoe does not just use simple Irony, but he uses both verbal and
dramatic irony to tell the tale of an evil killer and his gullible victim. The story
begins by letting the reader know that Montresor has been wronged by someone he
knows, a man by the name of Fortunato. Poe s us of irony is recognized
immediately by naming the victim in this story Fortunato, this is Italian for the
fortunate one. As we find out later in the story he is all but fortunate. From the very
beginning Poe shows Montresor s character flaws as being a man of pride and
having an attitude that if he is wronged the person who wronged him will pay in the
most sinister of ways.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fortunato is supposed to be a connoisseur of fine wines and is delighted in the fact
that Montresor has the Amontillado. Fortunato cannot resist the desire to taste this
wine and he is blind to the fact the he has even insulted Montresor. Poe never
discloses the exact nature of the insult. On their way down to the catacombs to find
the Amontillado, Fortunato has a horrible cough. All the while smiling in Fortunato s
face and showing concern for his cough, Montresor has a plan. He is verbally telling
Fortunato about the wine and talking about the scenery and he knows Fortunato will
not be coming back with
John Donne s Poetry
John Donne is in fact a pioneer in the poetic wit of love; he has paved the way for
many metaphysical poets after him. His style of writing, although immediately
recognizable, formed to the events unfolding around him. His work covers his early
years of sensuality, where he produced explicit sexual poetry, along with his later
years of religious study, where he wrote explicit religious poetry, a lot of which are
hard to tell apart. Because none of Donne s poetry was published while he was
living, it is difficult for us to date it accurately, but we can assume that he wrote his
more sensual poetry before he went to work with the church. He changed the way
most poets of the 16th and 17th centuries wrote and had a large impact on the poets
to follow after... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning,
Donne compares two lovers to the points on a compass. This is surprising because
Donne was not using the conventional Petrarchan conceit to make comparisons like
his colleagues. A metaphysical conceit requires a more introspective way of
reasoning to understand the speaker s emotions. Many were shocked over how
Donne transformed the conceit, failing then to see that his use of the metaphysical
conceit offered new insight into his poems and lyrics.
Another way Donne differs from his fellow Renaissance poets is with the use of a
present listener. Donne writes directly to whom the poem was written for, while
the other poets of his day; mostly write their poems without directing it towards a
specific listener. His poems have very few large descriptive passages like the one s
used in the works of Edmund Spenser. Donne s poetry also doesn t have the smooth,
poetic flow that the other Renaissance poets had. Donne has done away with the
poetic flow and instead opted to use a speaking voice, whose syntax can easily show
the intensity of Donne s
The Grasshopper and the Bell Cricket
The Grasshopper and the Bell Cricket
Written by Yasunari Kawabata
The Grasshopper and the Bell Cricket is very philosophical, using a lot of
euphemisms and symbols suggested in its economic writing. A visual piece of
literary work The Grasshopper and The Cricket . Rich in content yet concise in
expression, Yasunari Kawabataleads us into a whole new culture in which we have
never experienced before. At first glance, it seems simple enough, until you realize
that it goes on a deeper level. The author also illustrates the love for Japanese
tradition by referring to that of making lanterns. The author s use of euphemism and
symbolism is shown at once in the opening paragraphs. The narrator saw a group of

lessons that the children may need for future reference. The narrator wants to save the
children from heartache and disappointment; however he fails to realize that all
children must experience these emotions for themselves in order to become mature.
As the narrator stares into the lives of the children, it seems as though he is reliving

The Protestant Reformation And The Reformation
The Protestant Reformation was a pivotal time of European history that occurred
during the 16th century. The Protestant Reformation was comprised of people called
reformers that challenged papal authority and questioned the Catholic Church s
ability to define Christian practice ( The Reformation ). The Protestant Reformation
was revolutionary due to the fact that the reformers preached against everything the
Catholic Church had been teaching. Some famous reformers are John Calvin and
Martin Luther. However, Martin Luther to some is named the most successful and
influential reformer of the 16th century. Martin Luther was tremendously effective
and influential due to how resourceful he was, and his teachings spread across
Europe swiftly. Martin Luther was born in Eisleben, Saxony which is located in
Germany on November 10, 1483 ( Martin Luther Biography ). Luther was born into
humble living, with his parents were peasants. Luther s dad was a miner and did
not want his son to mine as well, so he sent Luther to school at the age of seven with
hopes of him becoming a lawyer. Luther continued onto that path until he
experienced a life altering event. In 1505 Luther was caught in a thunderstorm and
became so afraid he frantically prayed for mercy on his life. In his anguished prayer,
he promised St. Anne (the patron Saint of miners) that he would become a monk if
the storm subsided. The storm passed, and thus Luther s journey began. Luther
became a monk and spent several

Low battery. Exactly the two words I didn t want to see right now. Totally not the
way I wanted to start this day off. I decided to try to shrug it off and get out of bed
and get ready for school. I got dressed, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair like
usual. As I was walking out of the bathroom, I noticed something strange. The house
was quiet; it was like no one was there.Standing there confused as ever, I decidedto
investigate. I checked the living room and no one was there, it was vacant. Well that
s odd. I thought to myself. Where d everyone go? I checked the whole house and
nothing. No one. Not a single other living being besides myself. I turned my head

building up and so was my fear. The fear to turn around and face whatever it is
behind me. I only continued to get more and more filled with freight and the bad
possibilities. I just couldn t imagine the terror that awaited me once I turned around.
My curiosity begged me to turn around and see what it was. If I m going to die, I
might as well see the killer. I built up the courage to turn around. I slowly turned
around, and my heart completely stopped. The only thing I seen before getting
impaled was a mask. After that, everything went black. I can t believe my life is
already coming to an end. Why now? Why here? Why me? I can t just die now. I
haven t lived very long at all. I grabbed the weapon that impaled me and clenched my
grip as hard as I could and jabbed as hard and fast as I could at the killer. I tried my

killer was dead or was dying; they weren t gonna bother me anymore, that s all I

The Miners During Colonial Latin America
During Colonial Latin America, the major production of silver and mercury as
benefited Spaniards, while Indians worked for hours in the mines. Miners during this
time were exposed to dangerous conditions in which many died of diseases,
contamination/poisoning and injuries and all for low payments. In Mercury, Mining,
and Empire, Nicholas A. Robins incorporates the labor system and the processes
behind the production of mercury and silver. Also, the pollution that surged as
consequence and the conditions through which each indigenous citizen underwent
during this period of time, as well as how it has affected modern days. Robins also
researched the countless deaths of the indigenous population due to the abusive
labor system on the mercury and silver mines. The conditions in the mines and the
labor behind it became one of the motives to which took Robins to research these
mines and compare the after mass of those years. This being said, he observed how
it commenced, how the workers were brought to the mines, how they were treaded,
to what they were exposed, how it affected them and how after years, these places
remained polluted. The historic research conducted by Robins occurred by the use of
archives from colonial Latin America. Robins implements factual information from
the miners to its founders, with his on knowledge and those of his collaborators. The
effect that the production of silver and mercury had on the economy and the people

effectiveness of a new product for treating type 2 diabetes milieus. It is the first
drug of dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP 4) inhibitors class that is approved as an
adjunct to diet and exercise to improve the glycemic control.1 Januvia was
developed by Merck Research Laboratories and received the FDA approval on 16
October 2006.2 Preclinical/Animal study: The animal study of MK 0431, the
code name for Sitagliptin in early development phase, was done in mice, rat, and
dog. Maximum recommended daily adult human dose (MRHD) of Sitagliptin was
found 100mg/day and NOAEL 50mg/kg based on dog study.3 Two years of
carcinogenic study was conducted on mice and rat. In rat, liver adenoma
/carcinoma has been seen at 60 times of MHRD. This is probably due to chronic
hepatotoxicity of the drug. No tumor incidence was observed in case of mice up to
70 times of MHRD. Both in vitro assay and in vivo mice assay was not suggestive
of mutagenic and clastogenic nature of MK 0431. Fertility adverse effect was also
not at 12 times of MHRD)3 and Sitagliptin was labeled as pregnancy category B.4
Based on these preclinical studies on animal, Merck submitted their Investigational

The Practice Of The Eucharist
Part A
1.The practice of the Eucharist in the Catholic Church is usually called the Liturgy
of the Eucharist, Holy Communion or the Lords supper. The Eucharist usually
occurs near the end of the mass, firstly it begins with the preparation of the gifts
and the altar, and once this has been done volunteers of the community bring
forward the bread and the wine to the Priest at the Altar. Then the priest blesses the
bread and wine. After that the priest breaks the bread and says Take this all of you
and eat it this is my body which will be given up for you he holds up the chalice of
wine and says Take this all of you and drink from it for this is my blood which has
been given up for you . The Priest then places the gifts on the altar in sacrifice, and
volunteers then come up to the altar and takes the gifts to share with the community.
Initially the Eucharist is ended with the Prayer after Communion which is asked for
us to remember the Eucharist throughout our day.
2.The nature and meaning of the Eucharist is quite significant in the Catholic Church.
The Eucharist for Catholics was an inspiration from the bible mainly from the
passage of the Last Supper Jesus shared with his disciples.. For Catholics they
usually receive Eucharist during Mass, for Catholics the Eucharist is a symbol of
Jesus body and blood (bread and wine). For Catholics the Eucharist is a main
sacrament which is based around Catholics daily lives, the Eucharist is a reminder of

How Did Alexander II Reform Russia
Alexander II, was a good hearted, unselfish leader who wanted even the poor
peasants and serfs of Russia to have a grand life. Tsar Alexander II freed serfs, with a
sign of his name on the Emancipation Manifesto. Further, he expanded the railroad
system which created a boost in the economic life in a hitherto predominantly feudal
agricultural society (Mosse); this helped Russiaestablish and gain more territory. The
great Russian tsar, an innovator; during his reign, which began in 1855 he abolished
serfdom, expanded the rail system, reformed the aged judicial system, and liberated
Bulgaria. Tsar Alexander II of Russia assassinated (Mosse) in St. Petersburg in 1881.

Petersburg on 1881. Further, he was killed by the underground terrorist
organization that called themselves the People s Will. People s Will was a
revolutionary political organization that was responsible for a series of
assassinations. They tried seven times to kill Alexander II, but failed all, except
one. One attempt, a member of the group somehow weaseled his way into a job at
the Alexander II house as a stoker. Having this inside eye made it easy to smuggle
dynamite into the Palace. So, on February 1880, this man placed the explosives
under the dining table and set a timer to detonate the dynamite at the right time.
More, the explosives went off just as planned, but Alexander II was not in the room
at the time. On March 1, 1881, the People s Will attempted again to kill Alexander
II and this time the mission was successful. Alexander II was following his usual
routine of driving along the Catherine Canal in a carriage. A man threw a bomb
under the carriage, but the emperor emerged unscathed. Another bomb was thrown
and after the smoked disappeared a terrifying, brute scene was the only thing left to
look at. Throughout the snow you could glance at debris, clothing, blood, body parts,
pieces of wood, and
Esther Vs Ruth
The story of Esther is a tale written to inspire people to act bravely and wisely in a
situation of crisis; Esther s story also serves as a back story to the holiday of Purim,
which represents salvation. The book of Esther is a unique book because there is no
direct mention of God or religious traditions, this causes some people to doubt the
authenticity of Esther. This sparked a debate among the early rabbis and Christian
leaders of whether to include the story in the Bible, but ultimately the book was
accepted as canonical. In the Bible, Esther and Ruth are the only two women who
have books named after them; they are both seen as heroic figures, especially Esther
by the Jews because she reshapes the destiny of her people. Although in the... Show

In Goswell s article, he states several examples from the story where God could be
mentioned but deliberately is not. One of those examples is when Mordecai tells
Esther that assistance will come from somewhere else, which, some commentators
assume be to a reference to God, but Goswell states that Mordecai urges Esther to
help because she is the only one who can deliver the Jews because of her unique
position and essential role. As Goswell states, The key verse suggests that God s
control of events, while assumed, probably is not stated precisely so that the roles
of Mordecai, Esther, and the other Jews might take center stage (103). Goswell
supports his argument of the biblical authors intention by explaining the motive of
not mentioning God so readers can see the courageous acts of a human instead of
God leading. Goswell states, the answer may be that this was done with the aim of
focusing attention upon the human initiative and courage of the Jewish protagonists,
especially as modeled by Esther (105). Clearly emphasizing that the biblical author
had no intention of showing that God is in control or there is a plan unlike in the
story of Moses where God
Coriolanus Essay
Coriolanus I think Coriolanus is far too proud for his own good. I think this
because at the end of the play he is dead due to him being too proud. His people

of the way he abuses them. He pays himself with being proud Menenius say this to
flatter the crowd; Coriolanus is very opposite to this, as he would never flatter any
crowd. They say he isn t patriotic (proud of his own country) instead he fights to

reason only! Whilst talking to a crowd Coriolanus referrers to them as dissensions

Organization Design in FMC Green River Essay
Organization Design in FMC Green River
Organization design is a formal, guided process for integrating the people,
information and technology of an organization. It is used to match the form of the
organization as closely as possible to the purpose of the organization. This design
process seeks to improve and facilitate the efforts of members within the organization.
With respect to FMC Corporation s Green River, Wyoming facility, under the
guidance of this entity s site manager, Kenneth Dailey, the design should be
approached as an internal changes within the organization with the entity s members
working together to define the needs of the organization then create systems to meet

In analyzing the ability of management of Aberdeen, one may note that this facility
can be described as laid back and easygoing. As begun with the initial Aberdeen
plant manager, Bob Lancaster, then proceeded by Jeff Bust and finally Roger
Campbell, Aberdeen was managed as a family instead of a simple work plant. As
noted within Clawson s, Custom Business Resources, Aberdeen was built on trust of
every employee. Lancaster s view was to manage in a manner to eliminate fear in his
employees and instead increase productivity and potential beneficial risk taking, by
organizing self directing work teams, expecting the employees to assume and exercise
responsibility and maintain high standards of quality and service. Teams were created
for every division with respective team leaders elected to help manage the family.
Management made their employees feel trusted and implemented an almost self
directed system with just the appropriate amount of upper level development in

Pros And Cons Of Living At Home Vs Living On Campus
Almost every new coming freshman face the choice of living at home or living on
campus during the start of their college career. For most college students it is an
easy compromise to move away from home, while for others it really makes no
sense. The change from home life to dorm life generates a major step for some
students. Living at home versus living on campus comes with many advantages and
disadvantages. These include money, convenience, and time. Living at home can be
both a positive and negative aspect of one s life. Students choosing to live at home
have an advantage of money problems since living on campus is not cheap. Usually,
staying with your parents is cheaper than staying in a dorm room. The cost of a
dorm room can be as much as the cost of the college. The students cannot negotiate
the price of the on campus dorms, and if a resident did not pay for the next year of
housing, they could potentially be kicked out. Whereas, living at home, no parent
would kick out their child and they would not have to worry about paying rent.
Students would also save a boatload of money on the cost of food and supplies.
Their parents would pay for the food in the house and any necessity that would be
required. This includes doing laundry, cooking homemade meals, or an unlimited
amount of time in the shower. However, with many pros living at home there equally
a number of pros and cons dealing with convenience when students live on campus or
at home. Students

Shamanism Today: Perennial Wisdom Healing Grace for Personal Planetary
Evolution.
By Oscar Miro Quesada, M.A., Psy. ET.
Today s shaman leaves new footprints on paths of psychic awareness and spiritual
wisdom that are over thirty thousand years old. Shamanism is a millennial tradition
of healing, power and wisdom that sees all of life as interconnected and sacred.
Material and spiritual worlds interpenetrate one another, and the shaman s path lies
in attaining a life of harmony with both. The process of shamanic awakening is as
vast as the universe itself. It excludes no one, and yet includes only those willing to
surrender a limited sense of self. One must live it to understand it.
In the shamanic world view, mind and body are inseparable. There is no distinction
perceived between physical, psychological, spiritual an social ills. Even life an
death are not seen as separate conditions. Healing in a native sense means making a
person whole by restoring the health of the body, mind, spirit and community. Tribal
shamanic societies believe that we are part of the universe and must be in balance
with all of Mother Earth and Father Sky in gratitude to Great Spirit. The have much
to teach us today.
Twelve Core Principles
The magic and power of shamanism is grounded in a set of values and perceptions
that extend beyond what we usually consider reality. Shamanic tradition clearly
understands that two worlds exist: the Seen and the Unseen. Both are equally real All

The Rhetorical Analysis Of Best In Class
For almost two centuries, the system of public education has honored the best and
the brightest high school graduates with the honorable titles of valedictorian and
salutatorian.Though these titles have been a valued part of graduation for what
seem like the entire history of American public schooling, they are under heavy
scrutiny as impassioned and angry parents, as well as their hardworking students,
attack the idea of only recognizing one or two of the class s most talented seniors. In
Best in Class , reporter Margaret Talbotchallenges the traditional system of choosing
a single valedictorian by by exposing the emotional opposition to the system s
change or preservation; her use of emotional dialogue as well as far less emotional,
far more objective writing style allows Talbot to emphasize specific ideas and
opinions with syntaxto avoid confrontation, while simultaneously establishing that it
is time for the traditional system of valedictory to change. One key rhetorical pattern
that allows Talbot extensive control over how the audienceviews her topic is diverse
syntax. Via mostly cumulative sentences, Talbot is able to clearly emphasize a
specific idea about the subject while remaining neutral. For example, she explains
that Saratosa is a competitive school district while visiting the area, I saw a car with
a bumper sticker that read, My Child Was Student of The Month at Tuttle Elementary
but most of the high schools have taken Kennedy s lead (224).

Growing up in Theresa was an experience that will live with me until the day I die.
Theresa is a town with a population of roughly 2,000 people and it is very rural.
Theresa is a blue collar community where everyone works hard and everyone plays
hard. I saw this 24/7 at home. It was a small town. Everyone knew what was going
on with everything in the town. The town of Theresa was basically one giant family. I
went to school their from Kindergarten through 4th grade. The school was three
blocks from my house and I would walk to school and back every single day. I
usually had people who would walk with me. Some of those people I am still friends
with to this very day. This was were I got my very first taste of school and first taste
of friendship. One friend that I have made in Theresa is standing up in my wedding
in July. Growing up their was a blessing for so many reasons. Probably for reasons I

In addition, it was an effort to institute a monotheistic tradition in the country that was
quite unfamiliar for that era and unexpected for that level of the expansion of ancient
Egyptian philosophy and evolution. In fact, religion was extremely important to
ancient Egyptian society because people at the era deeply trusted on the natural
forces and they created different cults worshiping gods of the sun, earth, and water. In
such a way, they believed that through reverencing these gods they could merit their
provision and, therefore, ancient Egyptians totaled for higher harvests, revenue and
improved existence which they could achieve only with the support of various
deities. Moreover, it is obvious the amount to which the attempt of Akhenaten to
introduce monotheism in ancient Egypt was radical. It is obvious that the honoring
of one god, Aten, should change the opinion of the surrounding world and the
position of gods in the life of ancient Egyptian people.
3.
In addition Akhenaten is possibly unfairly not attributed with being a primarily
effective Pharaoh. Accounts seem to direct that Akhenaten permitted Egyptian
influence to weaken but this is not accurate. Moreover Akhenaten s
Patient Identifiers
When analyzing the degree of alignment between the nurse s current practice and
best practice, it is undeniable that there are many differences. For one, the nurse
does did not ask Mark to state his name and date of birth before scanning his
wristband. The issue with skipping this crucial step in the MAP is that it could lead
to a patient receiving the incorrect medication for a variety of reasons, which could
thereby lead to the development of adverse side effects and possibly even death (Jo,
Marquard, Clarke, Henneman, 2013). To prevent this negative outcome from
occurring, best practicestates that Mark s nurse should have used two acceptable
patient identifiers when administering his medications. These identifiers include, but

In spite of the medications he has been prescribed requiring him to monitor his
blood pressure, Mark s nurse has never provided him with a teaching as to the
importance of measuring and tracking his blood pressure while taking these
medications (American Heart Association, 2016). Without this teaching, or any
medication based teaching for that matter, patients like Mark are left in the dark
in regards to their knowledge and understanding of their own medications
(Macdonald et al., 2014). In order to avoid being left in the dark, best practice
suggests that Mark s nurse should have provided a health teaching that addressed
various aspects, including the reason he has been prescribed each of his
medications, why they may look different from those that he takes at home, as well
as the physical assessments that he should conduct while taking the medications, if
any (Macdonald et al., 2014). In the future, Mark s nurse should make patient
teaching a high priority and spend a few minutes talking to him about each of his
medications. She must also address any concerns he may have regarding any of his
medications and their side effects (Macdonald et al., 2014). By doing this, she will
ensure that Mark understands what medication he is taking and why, thus fostering
patient centred care and allowing Mark to feel that he is an active participant in
caring for his health (CNO, 2015; Macdonald et al.,

Euthanasia and the Will to Live
The denial of food and fluids to Terri Schindler Schiavo, the 36 year old Florida

the fact that any one of them could be in this woman s place for a variety of

The surrogate decision maker is normally whomever is classed by the particular state
as the closest relative, but if no relatives are available may be a guardian or even the
person s doctor. Such surrogates are daily authorizing the cutoff of food and fluids to
patients who are unable to speak for themselves and never gave any indication that
they might want to be starved. Only in the comparatively rare cases when there is
some dispute among relatives, such as in the Wendland case in California, the earlier
Hugh Finn case in Virginia, and the Schindler Schiavo case now in Florida, do these
cases reach public attention, normally in the context of lawsuits.
It should come as no surprise that, with important exceptions, the prevailing view
in the judiciary, as in the medical profession, is receptive to the quality of life ethic.
Judges are often dismissive of the pro life position that all human beings possess
dignity and the right to live, regardless of their age or degree of disability. When
the relative or other individual designated by state law to make health care
decisions for an incompetent person who has left no clear advance directive
chooses to cut off food and fluids, courts are rarely willing to agree with other
relatives who seek to overturn that decision. Indeed, the current battleground is over
efforts by health care personnel to cut off food, fluid and life saving treatments from
patients they think have a poor quality of life AGAINST THE
Healing Hospital
Healing hospital: A Daring Paradigm
Thania Arellano
Grand Canyon University: HLT 302
A healing hospital is a place characterized by thousands of small and wonderful
things and a few big ones. At the center is love. More than anything else, supports a
strong culture of caring. It expresses the deep passion of both patients and caregivers
(Chapman, 2003). Healing hospitals focus on patient centered care. Healing hospitals
focus on patients on a holistic manner. To build this type of care for a healing hospital
starts with something as simple as the hospital design. The design of the hospital is
very important. Weather there will be a lot of light or not, spacing, and how that
space it utilized. Historically, healthcare ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the hiring process is though, many employees can be fake and dishonest
with their level of radical loving care, or not even demonstrate radical loving care
at all. Since a healing hospital is filled with spirituality, I believe that having a
bible handy is important for the medical staff. If asked a question about life or
healing or any other aspect, the doctor or nurse can reference a bible verse to make
the patient feel more peaceful or tranquil about the stay at the hospital. Proverbs
24:14 Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future,
and your hope will not be cut off; this specific verse I believe is a good verse to
recite to a person who is losing hope, because it is saying to look within yourself
and find the wisdom, which I also think can mean strength, therefore finding the
hope the person needs to continue fighting. In Jeremiah 29:11, which states, for I
know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for
evil, to give you a future and a hope. This verse is good to give to a patient who is
feeling let down by the lord. This is stating that God has his own plans for each
person and in those plans there is no evil. God will not let anything bad happen to
the person, instead he will do anything for the specific person to have hope for the
future and look ahead to a healthy and better life. An example that hope and faith are

Similarities Between Adam Smith And Adam Smith
As philosophy emancipated from Aristotle and Thomism, man had been placed at the
centre of the universe. The Renaissance witnessed the intellectual emancipation as
Scientific Revolution. The Scientific Revolution began with Copernicus in the first
half of the sixteenth century. Antoyne de Montchretien announced the programme in
the title of his main work, Traite de l oeconomie politique (1615), here he described
that economics, the science of acquisition , was an important part of politics before
classical school of thoughts.

of economics in a planned and systematic calculations. He is called the Father of the

Tesco like every business will be affected by Monetary and Fiscal policies, whether
this be directly or indirectly. Tesco PLC will be affected more indirectly by these

Income tax and NI are the two biggest source of tax revenue for the govt, changes
to either of these directly relate to disposable income, which in effect changes
consumer demand. Consumer demand is a major factor for Tesco as a business as
and an increase would mean more sales and a higher income, a decrease would lead
to lower sales and lower income for Tesco s. A lesser income would mean smaller
profits which in turn might mean lower investment and employment levels.
Corporation tax is a tax on company profits which means it directly affects TESCO.
A cut in tax means Tesco will have more disposable profits which they could use in
many ways. They could add to their reserves saving it for an emergency, or use the
profits to finance investment, which will directly increase economic growth. Another
use is reduce corporate debt, which will increase Tesco s future profits. They could
also give their shareholders bigger dividends, which could lead to bigger investments
if shareholders invest their extra income back into Tesco.
Indirect Taxes relates to VAT and Excise duties. VAT is sales tax which is collected
by the business (Tesco) and given to the government. Essentially if increased it would
increase the price of Tesco s products, this subsequently will more often than not lose
consumer interest.

by losing a grand or more easily right on the spot. And after that you can possibly

While the dispPreOrder function, only executes once per call, recursively, the
dispPreOrder function is required to execute N times, where N represents the
number of nodes necessary for processing through the function. Therefore, the
dispPreOrder function contains an order of N, or O(N) in Big O notation.
Moreover, the dispLevelOrder function contains a single while loop, in order to
construct a queue of nodes, by level, in order to develop a traversal by each level
of the tree like structure. With a single while loop, and calls to the enQueue,
deQueue, and isEmpty functions, the dispLevelOrder function executes, or conducts
iterations a total of N times, where N represents the number of iterations through the
while loop. Therefore, the dispLevelOrder function contains an order of N, or O(N)
in Big O notation. The searchBST function is implemented as a recursive function,
searching through an already constructed a binary tree. In relation to a binary search
tree, the searchBST function executes only once per call, but executes log2N times,
as the searching work is partitioned. Therefore, the searchBST function contains an
order of log2N, or O(log2N) in Big O notation. As designed for the cases presented

over the world celebrated. Before the movement started in the 1970 s, a great oil
spill happened that Santa Barbara had in California, 1969. Thus, the oil spill
encouraged Senator Gaylord Nelson of having a day to focus on helping the
environment and teach the public of natural disasters (History of earth day, 2017).
Millions of people went to the street to protest for the negative impacts of more than a
hundred years of industrial development. The natural environment has been on a road
of destruction ever since the industrial revolution. In addition, humans have been
overwhelmed with gaining wealth that they have ignored the environmental needs for
many years. It can be said that this movement has been a great success in protecting
the environment. There are three main reasons why this movement is successful: The
first, is the strong focus of the movement, which promotes public awareness of
pollution problems, the second, is all the positive influence the main media has have
to the movement and lastly, is the overall knowledge that people receive after
participating in an earth day activity. First, Gaylord Nelson wanted there to be a
Development of Verb Inflections in Children
Development of verb inflections in children
Introduction.
Two of the ongoing questions in the field are: from what age do children acquire
grammar? And how do they acquire it?
The verb plays a crucial role in grammar and verb inflection has, therefore, become
one of the most popular subjects of study in child language research. Most work,
however, has been done on aspect tense inflection (Weist et al, 2004) and on
correlations between semantic classes of verbs and inflection types (Witteck,
2002) or on word order properties of inflection types. As Daggmer Bitner et al
(2003) remark, there is still very little on early verb inflection emergence and
paradigm construction. The following study endeavored to play a small part in
contributing towards this field. Studies on the acquisition of language in children in
general, and verb inflection in children in particular, indicate that children seem to
have an easier time than adults in language development and that their acquisition
of language is more error free than is that of adults (Mayberry Eichen 1991).
Wexler (1998) also observes that children also acquire verbal placement and verbal
inflection early and without errors even in the earliest observable stage of grammar
acquisition which is around one year to 1 and half years.
There are three key models that explain with emergence of inflection in general.
These are the dual mechanism model, the connectionist model, and the net work
model.

Economic Systems And The Economic System
Throughout homo sapiens evolution tribes managed resources the most efficient
ways possible (given their acute primitiveness). For those thousands of years as
tribes, they expanded their intellects and became less self reliant, moving away from
hunting and gathering. Humans started to invent new technologies that made their
lives easier; thus, individuals specialized in producing or providing these goods and
services to fellow tribe members. As they cultivated ever more superior technologies
the standard of living grew. This gave way to exponential population growth, towns,
cities, kingdoms, and empires were established. Macroeconomics arose as societies
devoted time and energy into governing their factors of production and maximizing...

In addition, the buyer and seller consider their own personal gain when exchanging,
thus, self interest is the motivating force in the free market. The struggle among
producers for the dollar of consumers is competition; it is the regulating force behind
the free market. Competition pushes businesses to produce goods of higher quality
and moderate their desire to raise prices. To summarize, the free market elevates the
standard of living, economic efficiency, economic freedom, and economic growth.
Nevertheless, a free market system s shortfall is that it cannot achieve economic
equity and economic security easily. Consequently, the centrally planned economy
exists to achieve the weaknesses of the free market. In a centrally planned economy,
the government, rather than individual producers and consumers, answers the key
economic questions. The government controls all factors of production and directs
workers to produce a certain number of goods. Command economies oppose private
property, free market pricing, competition, and self interest. However, command
economies do not perform well in practice, lacking logistics to coordinate an entire
economy, reducing efficiency and economic growth. Thus, countries with central
command are going through an economic transition into mixed economies. Mixed
economies are a market based economic system in which the government is involved

The competitors higher current ratio might also be a sign for too much inventory
that might have to be written off or too many old accounts receivables that could
turn into bad debts. Sears and Walmart s account receivables are a way higher than
Costco and BJs, confirming that there is no significant reason for considering
Costco s current ratio a weakness. Costco s gross margin has been well maintained
over the five year period. Their gross margin of 10.4% is much lower than Sears of
26.6% and Wal Mart s of 21.5%. Only BJ s has a lower gross margin of 9.2%.
Costco s 2001 gross margin suggests ability to remain profitable and very

customers at a very low mark up and at a lower per unit cost. According to the case

dissatisfaction. ROE tells how well stockholders are doing in
The Strategies Of Finding A Mate
Lauren SoentgenApproach: 1, Source: Buss, 1994
In his article, The Strategies of Finding a Mate, David M. Buss discusses the act of
finding a mate and the characteristics that people are drawn to in a mate. He begins
the article with a brief look at the history of mating and the theories that have
previously been proposed. In particular he addressed Charles Darwin s theory of
sexual evolution and belief in preferential mate choice. Buss proposes that there are
three components to human mating. He states that human mating is inherently
strategic... mating strategies are context dependent... [and that] men and women
have faced different mating problems over the course of human evolution and, as a
consequence, have evolved different strategies (Buss, 1994, p. 241). He uses this
theory to propose nine different hypotheses to prove that despite humans being
varied and different from each other, all humans look for similar characteristics
when trying to find a mate (Buss, 1994). To investigate his research hypotheses,
Buss collected data from two sources. His first source was college students in the
United States. For his second source, Buss (1994) worked with 50 other scientists in
order to survey over 10,000 men and women from around the world. This was his
greatest strength in the article. He had collected so much research that it made the
data seem credible, and the fact that the participants came from diverse backgrounds
means it is a better representation of the
Lord of the Flies Comparative Analysis
Lord of the Flies Comparative Analysis Angela Boui Throughout the book Lord of
the Flies several different universal themes occurred. Not just in this book but in
movies and TV shows as well. The different themes all show morals surrounding
situations both good and bad. One main theme that is present is how people abuse
power when it is not earned. This happens because people crave power and they
want to be in control. In the following paragraphs, different themes will be linked
with the book Lord of the Flies and similar movies and TV shows such as the
Walking Dead and the book Miss Peregrine s Home for Peculiar Children . Themes

The second quote from Lord of the Flies is when Jack said to Piggy You would,
would you? Fatty! Jack had said this in a vicious and humiliating way because he
wanted Piggy to feel left out and very discouraged. The same thing happened in the
book Miss Peregrine s Home for Peculiar Children because Jacob had been an
outcast ever since he had seen that horrible beast like thing. His friends had started
calling him crazy only to make themselves feel better and to put Jacob down. The
last theme that occurred in both books was that society holds everyone together. In
Lord of the Flies, the Island had been their society. The quote that shows how
society is falling apart is The world, that understandable and lawful world, was
slipping away. The same meaning is also present in Miss Peregrine s Home for
Peculiar Children. When Jacob left his home in Florida, he had lost all signs of
society. He had shut out all rules and went to a different time zone. His world was
overrun with monsters. With all the different themes happening inside the book
Lord of the Flies we are able to link them to other movies and TV shows. The
different themes show how any movie or TV show can have similar themes but
can have a very diverse background. In conclusion, the themes of the book Lord of

Examples Of Conformity In The Crucible
In 1964 kitty genovese was stabbed and raped near her hapartment in kew gardens,
queens while more than 30 people stood by and watched as the murderer left

bystander effect when individuals do not offer help to a victim when numerous
other people are present, because they feel like the other person will call or help and
no one ever does. Social conformityis a type of influence that results in a change of
behavior or belief in order to fit in with a group. This is not a new issue we have
seen examples of this in The salem witchcraft trials, and the red scare this shows
people will often conform to what society deems as acceptable to avoid persecution

learn. I remember every single boss I have ever had and I can recall almost
everything I liked and did not like about how he/she led. I am no philosopher, so
my personal definition of leadership is to do what I think is right to and for others,
from what I have learned, and if that does not work, try something different.
2.I feel that when it comes to my personal leadership style, I am a chameleon. The
reason for this is that nobody is the same. Trying to motivate an egotistical alpha
male is completely different than trying to motivate an introverted timid female.
One single style of leadership just will not have the same effect on all people. With
the know it all alpha male, often times I have to come out of my own comfort zone
and be stern, direct and not beat around the bush to get through to the person. This is
not my type of personality, but in order to lead this type of person, this is the
approach that works many of the times. If I were to try this same approach on a softer
timid person, this could ultimately shut them down into their shell and
Urinary Bladder Infection
Patient has urinary tract infection. Urinary tract infection is usually a bladder
infection. More common in woman than men due to women having a shorter urethra
than men so it s easier for foreign germs to enter. This is why women are advised to
wipe from front to rear. Coitus otherwise referred to as sexual intercourse is also
another common cause for frequent urinary tract infections. When germs that are
normally in stool that is excreted from the large intestines gets into the urethra causes
infection. Usually begins with cystitis (urinary bladder infection) and may ascent into
the ureters and kidneys. The thirty year old female is experiencing fever (body
temperature higher than 98.6), chills (shivering, commonly caused by viral or

C Perfringens Research Paper
C. perfringens is the species most commonly involved in gangrene, but other
clostridia and several other bacteria can also grow in such wounds (Tortora, Funke,
Case, 2004). When ischemia and the subsequent necrosis created by loss of blood
supply have developed, gas gangrene can advance in muscle tissue. The surgical
elimination of necrotic tissue and amputation are the prevalent medical treatments for
gas gangrene. When gas gangrene occurs in such regions as the abdominal cavity, the
patient can be treated in a hyperbaric chamber, which contains a pressurized oxygen
rich atmosphere (Tortora, Funke, Case, 2004). Antibiotics such as Penicillin are
effective against to C. perfringens. Symptoms consist of swelling, a blister that has

In the United States, the genuine name of the bacterium is Borrelia burgdorferi. In
Europe, the bacteria Borrelia afzelii and Borrelia garinii also cause Lyme disease.
Symptoms include bull s eye rash and neurological symptoms. Lyme disease is
transmitted by these ticks when they nip the skin, which allows the bacterium to
taint the body. Lyme disease is a tick borne disease (Tortora, Funke Case, 2004).
The single vector for Lyme disease in the United States is the deer tick called Ixodes
scapularis. These ticks are transporters of the Lyme disease bacterium in their
abdomens. A two step system when testing blood for confirmation of antibodies
against the Lyme disease bacteria is recommendation. The two steps of Lyme disease
testing are aimed to be done together. Doxycycline or amoxicillin are the antibiotics
typically used for oral treatment. Patients with specific neurological or cardiac forms
of illness may need intravenous treatment with drugs such as ceftriaxone or penicillin.

Tone Of One Perfect Rose
At first glance the poem One Perfect Rose may seem like a poem about love and
romance, but further analysis shows the opposite. The first two stanzas of the poem
can be misleading, as they lead one to believe that it s a romantic moment to a past
memory. However, with the poems sudden change in tone, the third stanza takes on
more of a cynical view. You hear the dissatisfaction in the speaker s tone, as she
wants more. The title conveys irony, as it shows that the roseis anything but perfect.
In a way the poem seems to describe Parkers feelings about life, even though she
had a lot going for her she just wasn t satisfied. Because of the shift in tone, the
poems entire meaning goes from sweet to a bitter recount. The first opening line of...

She wants more than a rose, when she states. Why is it no one ever sent me yet one
perfect limousine do you suppose? The word limousine implies that she maybe
materialistic. Upon this, as the reader, one has to understand the context in which
the poem was written in. It was written in 1937 when the Great Depression
occurred. Because Parker faced many financial uncertainties, all she really wanted
was to be sure she was financially stable. The phrase one perfect rose is repeated
throughout stanza 1 and stanza 2, thus making it a refrain. On the other hand, the
mocking repetition of one perfect indicates the underlining attitude of the speaker
in the last stanza. Suddenly the phrase one perfect rose becomes disrupted when
the speaker desires one perfect limousine. Moreover, the tone suddenly changes
when she states, do you suppose? . The question is implied to the reader as the
poem takes on more of a conversational tone. The poem suddenly takes on more of a
sarcastic tone, as a lot of Dorothy Parkers poem are really known for. They are
known for their witty remarks and irony. Line 11 and 12 states, Ah no, it s always just
my luck to get one perfect rose. The fact that she states ah no signifies
disappointment, but it also becomes more conversational instead of formal. In line 11
the word, just my luck actually means that something unfortunate
Verbal Irony In The Necklace By Guy De Maupassant
In Guy de Maupassant s story the necklace, Madame Loisel s is a women in the
middle class who s unsatisfied with her lifestyle and envies the upper class lifestyle.
Her personality takes her through a irony filled roller coaster throughout the story.
The story shows three different types of irony in the story which are verbal,
situational, and dramatic. Verbal Ironyis when words express something opposite of
what is truthfully meant. The first example of verbal irony is whenever her
husbands cooks a simple meal she shouts, Aha! Scotch broth! What could be
better? This is irony because she acts as if she s happy with the stew when she
actually not. Instead as she says this she s daydreaming of delicacies and a
surrounding a higher class filled with silver and dishes upper classworthy. The
second occurrence is when Madame Loisel husband comes home with an
invitation to the ball and she calmly say, I have no dress and so I can t go to this
party. Give your invitation to a friend whose wife has better clothes than I do. The
reason this is verbal irony is because she makes it seem as if she does not want to
go the party when in all actuality she s trying to get him to buy her a dress for her
to go. This is obviously put emphasis on by the way she cries then stops quickly
before she makes her calmly toned statement ,which was in a way throwing a
tantrum. in this example she s being sarcastic again because she does not wish for her
companion to give the invitation
Profit Maximisation
Is Profit Maximisation always the major objective of a firm? The production of goods
and services in our economy today takes place within organisations, whether in the
centrally planned economy or free market economy. Any firm within these societies
all have the same tendencies to acquire a successful business. Attaining this
succession through mission statements, goals and objectives is simultaneous through
all businesses. Changes in these objectives can have forcible effects on the decisions
that firms take day to day regarding pricing, output levels, the market and capital
investment. Depending on the size of the corporation, objectives will evolve to meet
changing economic conditions. The standard neo classical assumption is... Show more

It is assumed that each wants to maximize his or her profit but that each is subject
to constraints. In this case, shareholders are the principals who employ the
managers to maximize profits on their behalf. The concept of principal agent can
explore in greater detail the barriers imposed for each party involved. Recited from
Worthington, Britton and Rees (Pg 41, 2001), firstly there is an imbalance in power
between the principal and the agent; secondly there is likely to be a divergence of
interests between the principal and the agent and the possibility of opportunism
exists. One problem in assuming that businesses set price and output to maximize
profits is the decision taking; where the divorce between ownership and control, can
be difficult to monitor. The shareholders may not always be aware that managers
making the key day to day decisions are operating to maximize shareholder value.
Hornby et al. indicates that different problems also associated with the P В– A theory
include В‘moral hazards and В‘adverse selections . Both factors coincide with
information deficiencies for both the shareholders and the managers. Another
proposition by Hornby et al. signifies
The Sistine Chapel and the Creation of Adam
The Sistine Chapel and the Creation of Adam Michelangelo(1475 1564)
The sistine Chapel and mainly the Creation of Adam fresco are treasures to the world
of art, Michelangelo the creator brought his discipline of sculpting into painting the
frescoes and the human silhouette. The story of the Sistine Chapel starts with the
building itself, built in 1473 under the supervision of Giovannino de Dolci. It is
located in Vatican, Which is almost like the capital for catholicism. Vatican being
the home the pope and college of cardinals. The chapel being famous in todays day

that they devised a plot intended to discredit and degrade the young artist.

They were convinced that the young sculptor, who had never attempted a fresco
before, would inevitably fail (eyewitnesstohistory).
Wet fresco is the most enduring medium for wall painting (Martin and

influenced by sculpting and the human body. The nine scenes in the ceiling s
middle are all from bible stories. The scenes all depict stories from the book of
genesis, starting with the scene of god separating light from dark and ending with
scenes from the story of Noah. Foremost a sculptor Michelangelo uses his hands to
almost carve the human figure out of paint and lines. These distinct painting style of

proud sense of work. This proud sensation is perfect for the location in a place of
celebrating God.

The Pros And Cons Of The Red Scare
In the mid 1940 s America faced a kind of fear that many viewed at the time to be
easily justified. The Red Scare effected many people and ruined many lives during
this time. During the red scare people were black listed in Hollywood and were
prevented from finding work. This is because the Red Scare was a point in time
where there was widespread fear and government paranoia by a society or state, about
a potential rise of communism, anarchism, or radical leftism. The black list came
around from the idea that communists were trying to use Hollywood to influence the
minds of the people and turn American citizens in to spies for the Russians. This was
no easy time for many Americans, people not only abused whomever they didn t trust
by creating claims that that they were communist with or without evidence. The first
Hollywood blacklistwas created on November 25, 1947. This was the day after ten
writers and directors were cited for contempt of Congress for refusing to testify to
the House Un American Activities Committee. The writer Dolton Trumbo was one
of the individuals black listed and was sent to prison. The movie incarnation of the
book about events of his life some think was a well depiction of his person and life.
The book however, containing more detail and seemingly brutal honest documented
events differ from the movie. These differences bring into question what are
motivations, the changes to the store; and for what purpose. Does the movie

Beatles Love Songs
I am a big fan of Beatles, and I have taken Beatles music class in college. The songs
written by Lennon McCartney never fail to fascinate me. Their songs have been
always unique and interesting not just because of the pleasing rhythm but also
because of the themes disclosed in each song. Different songs disclose different
themes in Beatles different period. In the early stage, Lennon and McCartney
wrote many love songs that drove many teenagers crazy, such as All My Loving,
And I Love Her, and Can t Buy Me Love. Also, they wrote many songs for many
movies, where they were also involved in the movies as actors. Those songs
include I Am the Walrus and Yellow Submarine. In the late stage, they had many
great songs that disclose their minds and ideas towards different subjects, such as
the world and the band itself. When John Lennon felt worried about the
contemporary world because of the fact many people were suffered from war, he
wrote the song Imagine. When the band realized that they would soon break up,
they wrote Let It Be. Their songs have been great because Beatles were the symbol
of the era. I found the song Imagine still relevant today. Today, there are war, there
are hunger, and there are disaster; it looks like the world does not get better after
Lennon passed away. However, the song still influences people in the way the world
as a whole should peaceful. The Rolling Stones is one of the most well known band
in the history. It cannot be denied that the

For example, if some on had to listen to a song on a tape they would have to rewind
it to the exact spot of the tape to get the information that they needed.
That s is what caused the invention of file systems. The file system closely
resembled a filing cabinet. Just like a filing cabinet Information was stored in files
or directories. These folders could be placed in other folders thus creating
hierarchy i.e. it eradicated a single directory or folder, and this was the basis for the
file hierarchy system. The reason File Systems are necessary is because it ensures
reliability in data storage and it also manages access and retrieving data much easier
and quicker. But this wasn t the end of databases, new technology kept coming into
the market.
As computers grew in speed and capability the same had to be with information
storage. In the 1960s, the term database management was coined in to existence. That
s when two standards emerged, the hierarchical model was by IBM s Information
Management System and the other was the Network model by Charles Bachman IDS

serious business data was becoming to the world.
Then came relational database, Edgar Codd, who worked for the IBM s San Jose
Research Laboratory came up with a revolutionary database that would change the
way information was stored. He used a A Relational Modelof Data for Large

Making Supermouse Research Paper
Making Supermouse: Animals and Experimental Technology
The debate surrounding the creation of human animal chimeras is one that has risen
to elevated prominence following the Goldman experiment (2014) in which human
glia were injected into the brains of mice, creating one such chimera.
A chimera is a patchwork of cells from different organisms however, the genetic
material remains distinct and is not in any way crossed. In Goldman s experiment
the neuronal cells of the brain were still mouse cells, it was only the connective glia
cells which were human. Yet these foreign cells began to take hold in the mouse
brain multiplying until they replaced almost all of the mouse s own glia cells. Due
to the larger size of the human cells, they proved more efficient in coordinating
neuronal impulses, leading to mice with improved cognition and memory. These
mice were able to learn much more rapidly and could even be taught emotions such
as fear.
However, not everyone agrees with this sort of research. Even though this particular
experiment may have medical implications in the treatment of MS and others like ...

It is an automatic reaction to find these concepts weird due to social conditioning, yet
arguably, this alone is not reason enough to avoid such experimentation.
Another argument is that these practises are unnatural and should therefore be not be
performed. Religious beliefs often come into this, stating that it is unethical to play
God in deciding to create new forms of life. Yet, this is based entirely on the
oversimplified assumption that everything natural is good and everything engineered
by humans is bad; a notion with no real basis. Medical and technological advances in
all areas of industry are by definition unnatural, yet most come without ethical
concern, so why should this

In September the world of car industry went upside down when the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) revealed the car manufacturer company
Volkswagen had installed a software on their cars to evade the emission of high
pollution during the tests. Volkswagen was proven of violating the United States
code title 42 chapter 85 Subchapter I Part A 7412 that specifies that any
modification in a product that increases the emission of any air pollutant is
considered dangerous and violates the Clean Air Act. Other than Volkswagen more
companies are being suspects like Robert Bosch who is believed of being the
developer of the device. On their report, EPA described the software, as the defeat

Volkswagen strongly contributed all this years in contaminating the air of large cities,
like New York and Atlanta that have high ranks of Asthma residents in the area and
there is not much density in the air. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America

The Clean Air Act requires vehicle manufacturers to certify to EPA that products will
meet the emission standards to control air pollution, and every vehicle sold must be
covered by an EPA issued certificate. The Clean Air Act also prohibits manufacturers
the making and selling vehicles equipped with defeat devices that reduce the
effectiveness of the emission control system during normal driving conditions.
With this big lawsuit, there are a huge number of suspects from the big CEOs at
Germany to New York City. Suspects of the implementation of the defeat device are
several however Bosch is one of the principal suspects. Bosch who seems to be the
developer of the software device. According to the lawsuit against, Volkswagen s
fraudulent scheme was facilitated and aided and abetted by defendant Bosch, which
created the software used in Volkswagen s defeat device. Even though there is not

Essay On What Is Education

  • 1. Essay On What Is Education Crafting an essay on the concept of education presents a multifaceted challenge that extends beyond the mere act of putting words on paper. The difficulty lies not only in the vast expanse of the topic but also in the necessity to encapsulate its nuanced dimensions. Education, as a subject, is intricate, encompassing various theories, historical perspectives, and contemporary debates. Attempting to define the essence of education demands a delicate balance between providing a comprehensive overview and delving into specific facets. There is a constant struggle to navigate through the plethora of philosophical viewpoints, from traditional approaches to modern educational paradigms. Each perspective carries its weight, and finding the equilibrium between them requires a meticulous understanding of the subject matter. Moreover, the challenge is compounded by the dynamic nature of education. It is an ever- evolving entity influenced by societal shifts, technological advancements, and cultural dynamics. To encapsulate this dynamism within the confines of an essay is no small feat, as it necessitates an acute awareness of current educational trends and a foresight into potential future developments. Additionally, the difficulty lies in avoiding the trap of superficiality. Education is not a monolithic concept; it encompasses formal and informal learning, individual and societal dimensions, and global and local perspectives. Striking a balance between depth and breadth is a perpetual struggle, as the risk of oversimplification looms large. Furthermore, articulating one's thoughts coherently while maintaining an engaging narrative adds another layer of complexity. The essay must not only convey information but also evoke a reader's interest, encouraging them to contemplate the intricate tapestry of education. In conclusion, tackling an essay on the profound subject of education is akin to navigating a labyrinth of ideas, theories, and perspectives. It demands a keen intellect, a nuanced understanding of the topic, and a mastery of language to convey complex concepts with clarity. The endeavor is not merely an exercise in writing; it is a pursuit of unraveling the layers that constitute the essence of education. • 2. Use Of Dramatic Irony In The Cask Of Amontillado The cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe Edgar Allen Poe was an American author known for having a mysterious dark side. He mostly used creepy narrator s to tell his story s to add that eerie and disturbing feeling that makes the hairs on your neck stand up. Poe s stories were typically tales using Irony. In The Cask of AmontilladoPoe does not just use simple Irony, but he uses both verbal and dramatic irony to tell the tale of an evil killer and his gullible victim. The story begins by letting the reader know that Montresor has been wronged by someone he knows, a man by the name of Fortunato. Poe s us of irony is recognized immediately by naming the victim in this story Fortunato, this is Italian for the fortunate one. As we find out later in the story he is all but fortunate. From the very beginning Poe shows Montresor s character flaws as being a man of pride and having an attitude that if he is wronged the person who wronged him will pay in the most sinister of ways.... On their way down to the catacombs to find the Amontillado, Fortunato has a horrible cough. All the while smiling in Fortunato s face and showing concern for his cough, Montresor has a plan. He is verbally telling Fortunato about the wine and talking about the scenery and he knows Fortunato will not be coming back with
  • 3. John Donne s Poetry John Donne is in fact a pioneer in the poetic wit of love; he has paved the way for many metaphysical poets after him. His style of writing, although immediately recognizable, formed to the events unfolding around him. His work covers his early years of sensuality, where he produced explicit sexual poetry, along with his later years of religious study, where he wrote explicit religious poetry, a lot of which are hard to tell apart. Because none of Donne s poetry was published while he was living, it is difficult for us to date it accurately, but we can assume that he wrote his more sensual poetry before he went to work with the church. He changed the way most poets of the 16th and 17th centuries wrote and had a large impact on the poets to follow after... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning, Donne compares two lovers to the points on a compass. This is surprising because Donne was not using the conventional Petrarchan conceit to make comparisons like his colleagues. A metaphysical conceit requires a more introspective way of reasoning to understand the speaker s emotions. Many were shocked over how Donne transformed the conceit, failing then to see that his use of the metaphysical conceit offered new insight into his poems and lyrics. Another way Donne differs from his fellow Renaissance poets is with the use of a present listener. Donne writes directly to whom the poem was written for, while the other poets of his day; mostly write their poems without directing it towards a specific listener. His poems have very few large descriptive passages like the one s used in the works of Edmund Spenser. Donne s poetry also doesn t have the smooth, poetic flow that the other Renaissance poets had. Donne has done away with the poetic flow and instead opted to use a speaking voice, whose syntax can easily show the intensity of Donne s

The Protestant Reformation was comprised of people called reformers that challenged papal authority and questioned the Catholic Church s ability to define Christian practice ( The Reformation ). The Protestant Reformation was revolutionary due to the fact that the reformers preached against everything the Catholic Church had been teaching. Some famous reformers are John Calvin and Martin Luther. However, Martin Luther to some is named the most successful and influential reformer of the 16th century. Martin Luther was tremendously effective and influential due to how resourceful he was, and his teachings spread across Europe swiftly. Martin Luther was born in Eisleben, Saxony which is located in Germany on November 10, 1483 ( Martin Luther Biography ). Luther was born into humble living, with his parents were peasants. Luther s dad was a miner and did not want his son to mine as well, so he sent Luther to school at the age of seven with hopes of him becoming a lawyer. Luther continued onto that path until he experienced a life altering event. In 1505 Luther was caught in a thunderstorm and became so afraid he frantically prayed for mercy on his life. In his anguished prayer, he promised St. Anne (the patron Saint of miners) that he would become a monk if the storm subsided. The storm passed, and thus Luther s journey began. Luther became a monk and spent several

  • 12. Esther Vs Ruth The story of Esther is a tale written to inspire people to act bravely and wisely in a situation of crisis; Esther s story also serves as a back story to the holiday of Purim, which represents salvation. The book of Esther is a unique book because there is no direct mention of God or religious traditions, this causes some people to doubt the authenticity of Esther. This sparked a debate among the early rabbis and Christian leaders of whether to include the story in the Bible, but ultimately the book was accepted as canonical. One of those examples is when Mordecai tells Esther that assistance will come from somewhere else, which, some commentators assume be to a reference to God, but Goswell states that Mordecai urges Esther to help because she is the only one who can deliver the Jews because of her unique position and essential role. As Goswell states, The key verse suggests that God s control of events, while assumed, probably is not stated precisely so that the roles of Mordecai, Esther, and the other Jews might take center stage (103). Goswell supports his argument of the biblical authors intention by explaining the motive of not mentioning God so readers can see the courageous acts of a human instead of God leading. Goswell states, the answer may be that this was done with the aim of focusing attention upon the human initiative and courage of the Jewish protagonists, especially as modeled by Esther (105). Clearly emphasizing that the biblical author had no intention of showing that God is in control or there is a plan unlike in the story of Moses where God

For most college students it is an easy compromise to move away from home, while for others it really makes no sense. The change from home life to dorm life generates a major step for some students. Living at home versus living on campus comes with many advantages and disadvantages. These include money, convenience, and time. Living at home can be both a positive and negative aspect of one s life. Students choosing to live at home have an advantage of money problems since living on campus is not cheap. Usually, staying with your parents is cheaper than staying in a dorm room. The cost of a dorm room can be as much as the cost of the college. The students cannot negotiate the price of the on campus dorms, and if a resident did not pay for the next year of housing, they could potentially be kicked out. Whereas, living at home, no parent would kick out their child and they would not have to worry about paying rent. Students would also save a boatload of money on the cost of food and supplies. Their parents would pay for the food in the house and any necessity that would be required. This includes doing laundry, cooking homemade meals, or an unlimited amount of time in the shower. However, with many pros living at home there equally a number of pros and cons dealing with convenience when students live on campus or at home. Students

Material and spiritual worlds interpenetrate one another, and the shaman s path lies in attaining a life of harmony with both. The process of shamanic awakening is as vast as the universe itself. It excludes no one, and yet includes only those willing to surrender a limited sense of self. One must live it to understand it. In the shamanic world view, mind and body are inseparable. There is no distinction perceived between physical, psychological, spiritual an social ills. Even life an death are not seen as separate conditions. One key rhetorical pattern that allows Talbot extensive control over how the audienceviews her topic is diverse syntax. Via mostly cumulative sentences, Talbot is able to clearly emphasize a specific idea about the subject while remaining neutral. Many historians have recognized Akhenatenwith being solely responsible for developing a religious revolution in Egypt. In addition, it was an effort to institute a monotheistic tradition in the country that was quite unfamiliar for that era and unexpected for that level of the expansion of ancient Egyptian philosophy and evolution. In fact, religion was extremely important to ancient Egyptian society because people at the era deeply trusted on the natural forces and they created different cults worshiping gods of the sun, earth, and water. In such a way, they believed that through reverencing these gods they could merit their provision and, therefore, ancient Egyptians totaled for higher harvests, revenue and improved existence which they could achieve only with the support of various deities. Moreover, it is obvious the amount to which the attempt of Akhenaten to introduce monotheism in ancient Egypt was radical. It is obvious that the honoring of one god, Aten, should change the opinion of the surrounding world and the position of gods in the life of ancient Egyptian people. 3. In addition Akhenaten is possibly unfairly not attributed with being a primarily effective Pharaoh. Accounts seem to direct that Akhenaten permitted Egyptian influence to weaken but this is not accurate. Moreover Akhenaten s

In spite of the medications he has been prescribed requiring him to monitor his blood pressure, Mark s nurse has never provided him with a teaching as to the importance of measuring and tracking his blood pressure while taking these medications (American Heart Association, 2016). Without this teaching, or any medication based teaching for that matter, patients like Mark are left in the dark in regards to their knowledge and understanding of their own medications (Macdonald et al., 2014). In order to avoid being left in the dark, best practice suggests that Mark s nurse should have provided a health teaching that addressed various aspects, including the reason he has been prescribed each of his medications, why they may look different from those that he takes at home, as well as the physical assessments that he should conduct while taking the medications, if any (Macdonald et al., 2014). In the future, Mark s nurse should make patient teaching a high priority and spend a few minutes talking to him about each of his medications. She must also address any concerns he may have regarding any of his medications and their side effects (Macdonald et al., 2014). By doing this, she will ensure that Mark understands what medication he is taking and why, thus fostering patient centred care and allowing Mark to feel that he is an active participant in caring for his health (CNO, 2015; Macdonald et al.,

Only in the comparatively rare cases when there is some dispute among relatives, such as in the Wendland case in California, the earlier Hugh Finn case in Virginia, and the Schindler Schiavo case now in Florida, do these cases reach public attention, normally in the context of lawsuits. It should come as no surprise that, with important exceptions, the prevailing view in the judiciary, as in the medical profession, is receptive to the quality of life ethic. Judges are often dismissive of the pro life position that all human beings possess dignity and the right to live, regardless of their age or degree of disability. When the relative or other individual designated by state law to make health care decisions for an incompetent person who has left no clear advance directive chooses to cut off food and fluids, courts are rarely willing to agree with other relatives who seek to overturn that decision. If asked a question about life or healing or any other aspect, the doctor or nurse can reference a bible verse to make the patient feel more peaceful or tranquil about the stay at the hospital. Proverbs 24:14 Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off; this specific verse I believe is a good verse to recite to a person who is losing hope, because it is saying to look within yourself and find the wisdom, which I also think can mean strength, therefore finding the hope the person needs to continue fighting. In Jeremiah 29:11, which states, for I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. This verse is good to give to a patient who is feeling let down by the lord. This is stating that God has his own plans for each person and in those plans there is no evil. • 30. Development of Verb Inflections in Children Development of verb inflections in children Introduction. Two of the ongoing questions in the field are: from what age do children acquire grammar? And how do they acquire it? The verb plays a crucial role in grammar and verb inflection has, therefore, become one of the most popular subjects of study in child language research. Most work, however, has been done on aspect tense inflection (Weist et al, 2004) and on correlations between semantic classes of verbs and inflection types (Witteck, 2002) or on word order properties of inflection types. As Daggmer Bitner et al (2003) remark, there is still very little on early verb inflection emergence and paradigm construction. The following study endeavored to play a small part in contributing towards this field. Studies on the acquisition of language in children in general, and verb inflection in children in particular, indicate that children seem to have an easier time than adults in language development and that their acquisition of language is more error free than is that of adults (Mayberry Eichen 1991). Wexler (1998) also observes that children also acquire verbal placement and verbal inflection early and without errors even in the earliest observable stage of grammar acquisition which is around one year to 1 and half years. There are three key models that explain with emergence of inflection in general. These are the dual mechanism model, the connectionist model, and the net work model. Dual mechanism model

Buss discusses the act of finding a mate and the characteristics that people are drawn to in a mate. He begins the article with a brief look at the history of mating and the theories that have previously been proposed. In particular he addressed Charles Darwin s theory of sexual evolution and belief in preferential mate choice. Buss proposes that there are three components to human mating. He states that human mating is inherently strategic... mating strategies are context dependent... [and that] men and women have faced different mating problems over the course of human evolution and, as a consequence, have evolved different strategies (Buss, 1994, p. 241). He uses this theory to propose nine different hypotheses to prove that despite humans being varied and different from each other, all humans look for similar characteristics when trying to find a mate (Buss, 1994). To investigate his research hypotheses, Buss collected data from two sources. His first source was college students in the United States. For his second source, Buss (1994) worked with 50 other scientists in order to survey over 10,000 men and women from around the world. This was his greatest strength in the article. He had collected so much research that it made the data seem credible, and the fact that the participants came from diverse backgrounds means it is a better representation of the

I am an observer on how I learn. I remember every single boss I have ever had and I can recall almost everything I liked and did not like about how he/she led. I am no philosopher, so my personal definition of leadership is to do what I think is right to and for others, from what I have learned, and if that does not work, try something different. 2.I feel that when it comes to my personal leadership style, I am a chameleon. The reason for this is that nobody is the same. Trying to motivate an egotistical alpha male is completely different than trying to motivate an introverted timid female. One single style of leadership just will not have the same effect on all people. With the know it all alpha male, often times I have to come out of my own comfort zone and be stern, direct and not beat around the bush to get through to the person. This is not my type of personality, but in order to lead this type of person, this is the approach that works many of the times. If I were to try this same approach on a softer timid person, this could ultimately shut them down into their shell and

The first two stanzas of the poem can be misleading, as they lead one to believe that it s a romantic moment to a past memory. However, with the poems sudden change in tone, the third stanza takes on more of a cynical view. You hear the dissatisfaction in the speaker s tone, as she wants more. The title conveys irony, as it shows that the roseis anything but perfect. In a way the poem seems to describe Parkers feelings about life, even though she had a lot going for her she just wasn t satisfied. She wants more than a rose, when she states. Why is it no one ever sent me yet one perfect limousine do you suppose? The word limousine implies that she maybe materialistic. Upon this, as the reader, one has to understand the context in which the poem was written in. It was written in 1937 when the Great Depression occurred. Because Parker faced many financial uncertainties, all she really wanted was to be sure she was financially stable. The phrase one perfect rose is repeated throughout stanza 1 and stanza 2, thus making it a refrain. On the other hand, the mocking repetition of one perfect indicates the underlining attitude of the speaker in the last stanza. Suddenly the phrase one perfect rose becomes disrupted when the speaker desires one perfect limousine. Moreover, the tone suddenly changes when she states, do you suppose? . The question is implied to the reader as the poem takes on more of a conversational tone. The poem suddenly takes on more of a sarcastic tone, as a lot of Dorothy Parkers poem are really known for. They are known for their witty remarks and irony. Line 11 and 12 states, Ah no, it s always just my luck to get one perfect rose. The fact that she states ah no signifies disappointment, but it also becomes more conversational instead of formal. In line 11 the word, just my luck actually means that something unfortunate

Verbal Irony In The Necklace By Guy De Maupassant In Guy de Maupassant s story the necklace, Madame Loisel s is a women in the middle class who s unsatisfied with her lifestyle and envies the upper class lifestyle. Her personality takes her through a irony filled roller coaster throughout the story. The story shows three different types of irony in the story which are verbal, situational, and dramatic. Verbal Ironyis when words express something opposite of what is truthfully meant. The first example of verbal irony is whenever her husbands cooks a simple meal she shouts, Aha! Scotch broth! What could be better? This is irony because she acts as if she s happy with the stew when she actually not. Instead as she says this she s daydreaming of delicacies and a surrounding a higher class filled with silver and dishes upper classworthy. The second occurrence is when Madame Loisel husband comes home with an invitation to the ball and she calmly say, I have no dress and so I can t go to this party. Give your invitation to a friend whose wife has better clothes than I do. The reason this is verbal irony is because she makes it seem as if she does not want to go the party when in all actuality she s trying to get him to buy her a dress for her to go. This is obviously put emphasis on by the way she cries then stops quickly before she makes her calmly toned statement ,which was in a way throwing a tantrum. in this example she s being sarcastic again because she does not wish for her companion to give the invitation

The concept of principal agent can explore in greater detail the barriers imposed for each party involved. Recited from Worthington, Britton and Rees (Pg 41, 2001), firstly there is an imbalance in power between the principal and the agent; secondly there is likely to be a divergence of interests between the principal and the agent and the possibility of opportunism exists. • 46. The Pros And Cons Of The Red Scare In the mid 1940 s America faced a kind of fear that many viewed at the time to be easily justified. The Red Scare effected many people and ruined many lives during this time. During the red scare people were black listed in Hollywood and were prevented from finding work. This is because the Red Scare was a point in time where there was widespread fear and government paranoia by a society or state, about a potential rise of communism, anarchism, or radical leftism. The black list came around from the idea that communists were trying to use Hollywood to influence the minds of the people and turn American citizens in to spies for the Russians. This was no easy time for many Americans, people not only abused whomever they didn t trust by creating claims that that they were communist with or without evidence. The first Hollywood blacklistwas created on November 25, 1947. This was the day after ten writers and directors were cited for contempt of Congress for refusing to testify to the House Un American Activities Committee. Their songs have been always unique and interesting not just because of the pleasing rhythm but also because of the themes disclosed in each song. Different songs disclose different themes in Beatles different period. In the early stage, Lennon and McCartney wrote many love songs that drove many teenagers crazy, such as All My Loving, And I Love Her, and Can t Buy Me Love. Also, they wrote many songs for many movies, where they were also involved in the movies as actors. Those songs include I Am the Walrus and Yellow Submarine. In the late stage, they had many great songs that disclose their minds and ideas towards different subjects, such as the world and the band itself. When John Lennon felt worried about the contemporary world because of the fact many people were suffered from war, he wrote the song Imagine. When the band realized that they would soon break up, they wrote Let It Be. Their songs have been great because Beatles were the symbol of the era. I found the song Imagine still relevant today. Today, there are war, there are hunger, and there are disaster; it looks like the world does not get better after Lennon passed away. However, the song still influences people in the way the world as a whole should peaceful. The Rolling Stones is one of the most well known band in the history. It cannot be denied that the

These folders could be placed in other folders thus creating hierarchy i.e. it eradicated a single directory or folder, and this was the basis for the file hierarchy system. The reason File Systems are necessary is because it ensures reliability in data storage and it also manages access and retrieving data much easier and quicker. A chimera is a patchwork of cells from different organisms however, the genetic material remains distinct and is not in any way crossed. In Goldman s experiment the neuronal cells of the brain were still mouse cells, it was only the connective glia cells which were human. Yet these foreign cells began to take hold in the mouse brain multiplying until they replaced almost all of the mouse s own glia cells. Due to the larger size of the human cells, they proved more efficient in coordinating neuronal impulses, leading to mice with improved cognition and memory. These mice were able to learn much more rapidly and could even be taught emotions such as fear. However, not everyone agrees with this sort of research.
