Essay For To Kill A Mockingbird
Crafting an essay on the subject of "To Kill a Mockingbird" presents a unique set of challenges,
primarily due to the depth and complexity of the novel. Addressing its themes, characters, and
social commentary requires a nuanced understanding of the narrative and the ability to analyze
Harper Lee's intricate storytelling.
One of the difficulties lies in navigating the sensitive themes the novel explores, such as racial
injustice, moral growth, and societal prejudices. Balancing a critical examination of these issues
while maintaining a thoughtful and respectful tone requires careful consideration and a well-
articulated approach.
Furthermore, developing a thesis that goes beyond a surface-level analysis can be challenging. A
successful essay on "To Kill a Mockingbird" should delve into the layers of symbolism, character
development, and the historical context in which the story unfolds. This depth of analysis
demands a comprehensive understanding of the book, its characters, and the broader
implications of the narrative.

making it essential for the writer to engage with critical perspectives and incorporate them into
the essay. This requires a thorough review of existing literary criticism and the ability to

Danger And Cleanup Of Orbital Debris
Danger And Cleanup Of Orbital Debris Orbital debris, which are different than
space debri, pose a threat to space missions and astronauts. Manny previous
missions have left orbital debris in their wake. Most of the debris are left up there
until they are pulled toward earth by gravity and then destroyed by earth s
atmosphere. Until then the space junk is left to orbit around the earth. The amount
of debri continues to grow quicker than the earth can destroy it. Leaving the debri
to sit up there unchecked poses dangers for astronauts and space missions both
current and future. There are several solutions that scientists have come up with
that could help reduce the danger of space debris. Orbital debris are specifically
the man made objects that follow a path of orbit around the earth (NASA, 2013).
Orbital debris differ from satellites in that they no longer serve a working purpose,
making them essentially space junk (NASA, 2013). Orbital debris can sometimes be
confused with space debris. The term space debris encompases anyting that is
wandering about space or orbiting around something like the sun, manmade or not
(NASA, 2013). Things like meteorites and man made objects that are not in orbit
around earth (NASA, 2013). While orbital debris only includes man made, unusefull
things, that are in orbit around the earth (NASA, 2013). The orbital space junk can
wind up floating around the earth in a couple of different ways. One of the most
common ways that it can get up there

Monetary Policy And Its Effects On Economic Market
Generally, interest rates are positive, but they can also be negative due to the
monetary policy by government. A negative interest rate is defined as an interest rate
below zero, in which the person, bank, etc. lending the money pays interest to the one
borrowing the money in dictionary.cambridge.org. In other words, a negative interest
ratemeans banks must pay people or firms if they loan money from banks.
Furthermore, a negative interest rate also means people must be charged if they put
their money in savings account of a bank. Thus, this policy is major to encourage
everyone instead of hoarding their cash but spending, investing, and extending more
loans. Negative interest rate policy first came out in the early 1970s, when the Swiss
government ran a negative interest rate regime to counter its currency appreciation
due to investors fleeing inflationin other areas of the world. Then, in 2009 to 2010
Sweden and in 2012 Denmark used negative interest rates to stem hot money flows
into their economic market. Next, in 2014 the European Central Bankinstituted a
negative interest rate that only applied to bank deposits intended to prevent the
Eurozone from falling into a situation of deflation. Recently, this year on January 29th
the Bank of Japan announced its benchmark interest rate below zero in an attempt to
counteract the effects of falling oil prices and China s slowdown. (BoJ joins the party

Test Anxiety And Performance That Indicate A
Relationship...
Numerous studies have been conducted in regards to test anxiety and performance
that indicate a relationship between anxiety, preparation and test performance. One of
the first indications to be successful when considering performance is to be equipped
with knowledge. What is Test Anxiety? According to a DSM 5 review by BoВЁgels,
Alden, Beidel, Clark Pine, Stein, and Voncken test anxietyis defined as an excessive
degree of fear, worry, and apprehension before, during, and/or after test situations,
with symptoms of physiological reactivity and concern regarding (the
consequences of) poor performance. Is it a mental disorder? During the rewrite of
the DSM IV, test anxiety was taken for inclusion as a form of Social Anxiety
Disorder (SAD). Nevertheless, the decision was made not to include test anxiety
alone inasmuch as it was hard to define and appeared to get too large a range of the
population (up to 40%). Bogel et al. Granting to the Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual of Mental Disorders (5th Ed.; DSM 5; American Psychiatric Association,
2014) test anxiety is not identified as a disorder. However, it is identified as a sub
category of social phobia in Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and Generalized Anxiety
Disorder(GAD).
According to Bogel et. al, when considering a diagnosis you must assess the core
issue surrounding the test anxiety, for example, if there is a social humiliation
component or relation to general negative outcomes or if there is a relation to

World Gains From Optimism
What the world gains from Optimism:
Usually, when you think of an optimist, you might think of a bright cheery person
wearing bright happy colors skipping happily down a sidewalk, right? And while
that sounds like a wonderful way to live, that s not quite how optimism always
looks. (But hey, if it works for you, be my guest!) Optimism is often overlooked and
misunderstood in today s society. We really have no idea how beneficial the effects
of optimism are for us. From healthier hearts to even living longer, optimism sure is
a helpful tool that s easily accessible and makes the journey of life a lot more fun!
Optimism shockingly, has a direct correlation to physical health as seen in many
researches conducted by multiple people. A healthier... Show more content on

Researchers actually found that individual factors like age, income level, education,
gender, etc. had a smaller than expected impact on optimism, and that national
factors like GDP and life expectancy didn t really have an impact on optimism at all.
So really no matter how harsh the circumstances, we all can be positive.
Findings from a study conducted a few years ago by neuroscientist Elizabeth Phelps
suggest that directing our thoughts of the future toward the positive is a result of our
frontal cortex communicating with subcortical regions deep in our brain. The frontal
cortex, a large area behind the forehead, is the most recently evolved part of the
brain. It is larger in humans than in other primates and is critical for many complex
human functions such as language and goal setting. We just have to use that frontal
cortex and decide to choose the positive route.
So now we know how beneficial it is for us to use that daily optimistic thinking.
From heart health, boosted immune systems, and longer lives optimism can do it
all for us. Lots of people in our society don t always adapt to this system because of
older primal habit, but as proven, anyone can change to the positive side as long as
their willing. So are you ready to smile nonstop, wear bright clothes, and skip
everywhere? Let s be

Trichinosis Research Paper
Trichinosis Trichinosis is a rare infection caused by a parasitic worm. People can
become infected by eating the raw or undercooked meat of an animal infected with
this worm. Bear meat and pig meat are possible sources of this infection. The
severity of the illness will vary depending on the number of worms in the
contaminated meat that is eaten. Once the worms are eaten, they enter the intestines
and can cause symptoms. From there, the worms travel through blood vessels to
other areas of the body. When worms reach the muscles, a cyst forms around the
worms. The illness can range from mild to severe. In mild to moderate cases, most
symptoms will go away in a few months. The infection can cause serious health
problems if the worms heavily
Analysis Of Greasy Lake By T. Coraghessan Boyle
Young people often experience a time in their lives where they desire to be defiant
and unruly. However, this vision is often removed from their minds when they
come into contact with a situation that changes their whole mindset on what it
really means to be bad. Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle is a coming of age
story about an adolescent boy and his two friends on their journey to self
awareness The protagonist and his friends create a bad boy facade in order to fit in,
but as the story unravels, they begin to remove their disguise in their discovery that
what is in trend is not always morally right. The protagonist, who is also the narrator
of the story, transitions from a naГЇve boy who is a rebellious exhibitionist unsure of
his true identity to a more mature man that realizes what it really means to be bad
after one night s traumatizing events. Although the protagonist and his two friends
think they are truly bad characters, they are ultimately just rebellious teenagers.
Boyle presents the three boys as being wild and bad but quickly eliminates those
traits, as the reader understands that they are just three boys acting out as unaware
self entitled teenagers. Truly bad characters do not still live with their parents at
nineteen or drive their parent s station wagon (Boyle 409). There are many acts of
rebellion in Greasy Lake. Most of the things that the protagonist does are illegal, and
things that no parent wants their child to do. The narrator and his

Hera In The Greek Myth
Hera
Hera(О‰ПЃО±)is an olympian and Zeus wife and sister. She is the supreme

changes, corporate administration and market estimation of the organization that
impact the estimation of the organization viably (Drake and Fabozzi, 2012).

Into the Wild Reader Response Essay
Into the Wild Reader Response Into the Wild, written by Jon Krakauer, is a
memoir about how living in the wilderness and how Chris McCandless lived
nearly two years in the wild. Throughout the novel, Krakauer relates Chris
adventures to his own experience in mountain climbing and living on his own.
This is not your typical memoir where the author tells a story about their lives. Jon
Krakauer is not the main character; however he tells a story of this boy who leaves
his well developed family for no apparent reason. But not only does he tell Chris
story, he tells his own by fusing them altogether. The story starts out and it is telling

what Krakauer believes to be starvation. The cool thing about how Krakauer
revised this novel is how he relates it to all teenagers. At one point in time mostly
all teenagers have a fight with their parents and they feel as if running away from it

Opiates, otherwise known as narcotics, derive from the properties of Afghanistan

Caesar Imperialism
One of the most defining moments in Roman history was the assassination of Gaius
Julius Caesar on the 15th of March, 44 BCE. It sparked the transition from a
republican to an imperial system of government for Rome. Caesar admired the idea of
a government that was controlled by an individual (Imperialism), and not by senators
constantly jostling for power (Republicanism). There are three points that suggest
why his assassination was the key moment for the transition to take place. Firstly,
Caesar emphasized heavily on the idea that a dictator would assist in the centralizing
of power within Rome, therefor allowing Rome to endure as the dominant force
throughout the Mediterranean. Secondly, after Caesar s death, the second triumvirate
was formed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The conquest of Gaul took place from 58 BCE until 51 BCE, in which Caesar
fought in a number of large battles including the decisive battle of Alesia in 52
BCE, which completed the conquest and gained Rome full control over Gaul.
During his time as proconsul, Caesar saw a great opportunity in obtaining control
over the Gallic province to the North of Rome, as he believed that the centralization
of power was accomplished through gaining land. By the end of the Gallic Wars in
51 BCE, Caesar had reduced to the form of a province the whole of Gaul enclosed by
the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Cevennes, the Rhine, and the Rhone about 640 000 square
miles (Suetonius, Julius Caesar, 25). One of Caesar s motives for taking control of
this much land was that it was a major expansion of the Roman frontier. It created a
complete circuit of his empire, which would then be bounded on all sides by the
ocean (Plutarch. 579). Caesar s strong interest in centralizing power within Rome
died with him, the old form of a republic government was exhausted. Knowing this,
Caesar made no attempt to mask his opinion, bypassing traditional practices
(Bradley, 393). With Caesar naming himself Dictator perpetuo Dictator for life in
47 BCE, the senate soon began to see Caesar s power as a major threat to their own
roles as senators. A step towards imperialism was a result of Caesar s death and his
idea to centralize power in Rome through an individual, forthcoming the second
The Ghost In Hamlet s Vengeance
The story, Hamlet, could be seen as one full of tragedy, love, and vengeance. Yet,
the story could also be seen as one filled with bouts of psychotic episodes of
different characters specifically Hamlet s. Hypothetically speaking, there seems to be
a progress from being a protagonist to an antagonist within Hamlets character. Many
could say it could have been his thirst for vengeance of hunting down his father s
killer and brother, Claudius. It s seen that The Ghostis an embodiment of Hamlet s

him into doing what he wants rather than what Hamlet wants. If it was up to
Hamlet all he had to do was kill his stepfather and uncle rather than kill both

it was due to The Ghost who wanted to do things in a way that could cause chaos
without thinking of his own son s life in the process. He s more focused on carrying
out revenge than Hamlet, he uses Hamlet s anger rather than his own to carry out the

consumer preference have begun to change from buying hydraulic valves from
suppliers to buying full hydraulic systems instead. Accuflow has its roots in its
groove casing technology historically and does not have the same competitive lead in
integrating its products into one such system whose demand has recently surfaced.
The management team has looked hard into this issue and Accuflow is en route to
diversifying its product lines to increase its competitiveness. Given Accuflow s
superior products and brand name, it is difficult to tell whether Accuflow will lose
the race in diversification of its products.
Moreover, the sales of hydraulic systems tend to be somewhat sensitive to the capital
spending cycle in the manufacturing sector while sales of hydraulic valves are not.
Although Accuflow is currently not up to par in terms of integration, the steady sales
of its grooved casing hydraulic valves could help Accuflow tide through both good
and bad times in the near

Abstract
This paper examines the type of corporation which meets James s best interest. A
company can be set up with or without shares available to the public, divided into the
public company which is expensive to obtain and maintain, and the private company
which is appreciated by most businesses to begin with. Also, there are limited and
unlimited companies. In addition, a company can be classified as limited by guarantee
or limited by capital shares which are in most companies favour. These are governed
in the main by the Companies Act 1985 and relevant case law.

Salomon v. Salomon Co. 1897 is a case in point. Salomon had run a successful
business for many years as a boot merchant. In 1892, he decided to take advantage of
incorporated status, and convert his business into Limited Liability Company. To do
this he set up a
Limited Company, which he called Salomon Co. Ltd, and made himself and members
of his family shareholders in the business, with himself as the majority shareholder
and Managing Director, thus retaining control of the company.
As a separate legal entity, Mr. Salomon then sold his merchant leather business to
Salomon Co Ltd for ВЈ39,000, which in 1892 was far in excess of its real value. Mr.
Salomon took payment from the company in the form of ВЈ10,000 in cash, ВЈ1in
10,000 shares and the remaining ВЈ9,000 he left in the business as a loan to the
company, which he secured against assets of the business.
Within months the company ran into trouble, and within a year went into liquidation.
Even though it would mean suppliers and employees who were owed money would
go unpaid, Mr. Salomon claimed his secured loan back from the company.
When the case went to court, even though it was plain to see that Mr.
Salomon was the business in reality, in the eyes of the law he was a shareholder and
private individual, who had leant this company in
Essay on Violent Video Games are the Root Cause of Youth...
Technological advances have engineered many new forms of entertainment, one of
the most popular being video games. Video games have come a long way since they
were first introduced to the mainstream audience during the 1960 s and 1970 s and
have drawn a large amount attraction among people of all ages and culture. However
it wasn t until the Play station was released that violencebecame a concern to parents
and politics. The level of violence in video games have been in a matter of
controversy dating all the way back to the classic games like Pacman and Space
Invaders and with the advancement of technology, eventually pushing into more
modern and realistic games like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Call of Duty: Ghosts. These
games are evolving... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The experiment involved the use of a Bobo doll. The doll is an inflatable clown
that is in the shape of a punching bag. The experiment started off with several
children watching the first video of an adult hitting the Bobo doll with kicks,
punches, weapons, and even toy guns and the second video of an adult playing
with toys while ignoring the Bobo doll. According to Kutner and Olson (2008),
Children were more likely to be violent towards the Bobo doll after seeing the acts
portrayed on film by the adult. As a result, when young kids observe violence tend to
be more aggressive and hostile. Since violent video games teach children to be
violent, aggression will no doubt increase. Following, addiction surrounding video
games is becoming an increasing problem as well. The youth play continuously,
obsessively and in some way believe and perceive the virtual world as more
pleasing and attractive than the real world, and as a result they should be banned.
Richard Falzone (2008), MD, a child psychiatrist met a child who had an addiction
with video games. He stated: I m seeing a fifteen year old boy who has been
hospitalized for depression and for cutting himself. He s bombing out of school, not
because he couldn t cut down on the time he spent playing World of Warcraft. He

Company Culture Influences Behavior Within A Company
Businesses do not exist in a vacuum. It is hard to even imagine one that is completely
isolated from external input. In fact, they are constantly subjected to influence from
both the outside and the inside. In open systems, a relationship exists between a
business and its surroundings in which awareness of that constant input and output is
vital. In order for a startup companylike Everyday Indulgence to move forward
strategically and become successfully established, its leadership must identify and
consider both internal and external environments.
Stakeholders like employees, owners, and executives within a company as well as the
forces that impact the way they behave make up the internal environment. Such forces
include the culture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using the example of dessert delivery service, Everyday Indulgence, setting the tone
within the startup business is especially important early on, when there are only a
few employees. A wide variety of tasks will be shouldered by a small team of
people and there is bound to be a significant learning curve. Hiring individuals with
values that are aligned with the company s is a good start and continuous training
with an ever present owner/manager will further develop employee confidence and
expertise. Mentoring and training employees leads to a desirable output in the form
of both product and service, while poorly trained staff produce the opposite.
Communication, written, verbal, and in the form of daily staff meetings will foster
an atmosphere of teamwork, support, and comradery, whereas lack of communication
on such a small team will lead to disorganization and a disconnected feeling among
team members. The success or failure of startup companies like Everyday Indulgence
is greatly impacted by its internal environment.
Also a powerful influence on a company, the external environment, including both the
general and task/competitive environments, refers to all outside forces that affect said
organization. Some general environmental factors are the following: laws, economy,
The Importance Of Self Service For Handling Their Issues
Introduction
Customers prefer to use self service for handling their issues rather than calling in
to speak with a live customer representative. The reasons are self service options
are more efficient and gives the customer control of the situation. In contrast, some
service leaders believe that their customers prefer calling rather than self service.
This is true to some extent as customers are forced to call because the self service
options are unavailable or available but not simple to use. It turns out that most
customers don t just like self service surprisingly often, we go out of our way to
self serve. How customers want to be served, and how they want to engage with
companies, has changed considerably in the past decade, writes Dixon, Toman
DeLisi (2013, p. 12).
Customers Are Channel Switching
Service leaders need to be aware that customers who use self service or calling in
are not different customers. Most businesses make the mistake of separating these
customers to different categories. Majority of customers use self service first and
call in as a last resort to resolve their issues. These customers are channel switching
which have negative impacts on businesses because they increase operational cost
and have lower customer loyalty.
Service Leaders Myths
Most service leaders believe that their biggest challenge is getting customers to use
self service. They understand the significant cost reduction by reducing call volumes
when customers choose self service
Cross Border And Foreign Borrowing Essay
Cross Border Governmental Borrowing Cross border government borrowing plays an
integral role in the modern international finance system. Cross border government
borrowing enables governments to substantially increase their access to cheap credit
and is a particularly attractive option to finance government programs. While raising
taxes or cutting governmentexpenditure can be politically treacherous, borrowing in
the form of government issued bonds enables governments to fund programs and
prompt growth, which is especially important in developing nations, while
smoothing over the costs over a longer period of time in the future. And while
governments may be able to issue and sell bonds to exclusively its domestic
population, doing so is less desirable. For one, the limited amount of domestic
creditors means the government will be forced to pay higher interest rates on their
bonds. Secondly, issuing bonds to exclusively the domestic population is more
contractionary than the alternative of selling bonds to the international community at
large, as it takes money out of the money supply, which can slow economic growth.
Therefore, in order to eschew some of the negative effects that comes with selling
bonds exclusively to a domestic population, many governments are willing to engage
in cross border governmental borrowing. While there are some risks associated with
cross border government borrowing, to be certain, the opportunities that cross border
lending presents in terms
Definition Essay On Sacrifice
When you go in search of honey, you must expect to be stung by bees. ― Joseph
Joubert. According the Merriam Webster Dictionary sacrifice is defined as
destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else . The second
definition is something given up or lost . Do you really understand the definition of
sacrifice? Have you ever felt like you ve sacrificed something for a greater gain?
Sacrifice can be a hard thing to do sometimes but the action that belongs to the
word has changed the course of history time after time. To better understand the
meaning of sacrifice and what it encompasses we must first look at its synonyms.
The Merriam Webster Dictionary list terms such as forfeit , yield , surrender .
offer , and suffer . These terms suggest that some sort of struggle might have
ensued leaving another to sacrifice which they may have not been ready to give.
The implication is that if you re sacrificing your losing, or if you re sacrificing your
becoming submissive. It also suggests that people that sacrifice had no other choice
but to do so. While for some this maybe the case for all it is not.... Show more content

The Missouri Model Of Juvenile Justice
Historically, courts have punished and confined youth of all ages and genders in
jails and penitentiaries. With few options available, youths were indiscriminately
confined with hardened adult criminals in large, overcrowded, and lifeless penal
institutions. Work by pioneering penal reformers eventually led to change. The
Missouri Model of juvenile justice was born after a 1969 federal report condemned
quasi penal military atmospheres found in juvenile jails (Mendel 2010). Institutions
that follow the Missouri Model focus on restorative justice, access to group
treatment, individual therapy, and a humane environment. Juvenile offenders have
basic necessities such as food and shelter, but also have access to education,
recreation, health care, and counseling, all provided in a safe atmosphere. The
Missouri Model of juvenile justice was initially intended to be a pilot program in
Missouri, but has now spread its influence and success to California, New Mexico,
Louisiana, and Washington D.C (Lombardi 2011).
Restorative Justice
Restorative justice is a style of discipline found within the criminal justice system that
focuses on the rehabilitation of juvenile and adult offenders through reconciliation
with victims and society at large (Richards 2009). Practices and programs that reflect
restorative purposes will respond to crime by identifying harm and pain caused,
taking steps to mitigate damage, and finally repairing the harm caused. Restorative
justice encompasses all

rain, but she soon discovers the true identity of the secret hour. During her second
trip to the Blue Time, she has to be saved by Rex, Melissa, and Dess who use
thirteen letter words and steel, both of which are things darklings hate. The next
day, Rex explains to Jessica how the 25th hour of each day came to existence, what

A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time Outline: INTRODUCTION:
Attention Grabber: In the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, we see a
young adult, Christopher, traveling through life and overcoming obstacles he
never thought he could. Specifics regarding the topic: In my high school today
myself along with other high school students overcome obstacles we could have
never thought of our freshman year. At the beginning of our college prep four
class, students learn that college should be an adventure as dr. rouch states in his
article to incoming freshman. Thesis: Interestingly, Chris puts the practice into
action when he embarks on an adventure in spite of his Asperger s. Body Paragraph
1: Christophers Attitude: Topic Sentence: Christopher Boone showed an exquisite
attitude and was willing to take risks during the story that most people wouldn t
have if put in his shoes. Supporting reason 1: In the story, he soon finds out his
mother that he thought was dead, was alive and his father had lied to him about
his mother s whole new life because of an affair that separated the two. Christopher,
instead of jumping to conclusions decides to wait and keep him calm until he had
all the pieces put together. Chris would often say things as I didn t have enough
information or i decided not to think about it anymore that night...could easily leap

The Prevalence Of Refractive Errors In Children
Refractive errors are the result of misaligned optical components within the eye
causing improper focusing of light onto the retina. Although the optical components
may vary by a minute amount, the resulted blurred vision will not only affect the
individual but also society in terms of the health industry, education, research and
socioeconomics. As a result of the impact of refractive errors, there has been an
increasing emphasis for research and action plans placed by eyehealth organisations
and the government on the development, prevention and control of refractive errors.
As a child s eye begins to develop and undergo emmetropization, there is a dynamic
change to the optical components such as the crystalline lens, cornea and axial length.

The most common cause of visual impairment is due to uncorrected refractive error.
2 Studies by researchers by the Brien Holden Vision Institute approximates the cost to
correct refractive errors to be US$20 045 million.2 The correction of refractive errors
make a worthwhile investment as uncorrected refractive errors cause an estimated
US$91,300 million US$327,000 million loss in productivity. 2 In order to minimise
this loss of productivity, it is imperative for the government to support visual health
sectors. Therefore, due to the high economic costs of refractive error, family,
communities and the government must implement preventative or corrective
measures.
There are high costs for poverty stricken nations tackling uncorrected refractive
errors. The impact of blindness of a country can amount to $42 billion in 2000. 2
This large sum will be very difficult to set aside and invest in eye health in
developing countries. When eye health is left untreated this will often increase the
cost of repairing eye health issues which furthers the cycle of decreasing eye health
care. Therefore, it is ideal for developing countries to highly invest in quality eye
care as soon as they can afford to train health
Not The Best For Their Children Essay
After conducting the survey, it was clear that the majority of the parents were allies
to the project. With little knowledge of the balls and their benefits, they still pledged
support to the concept, wanting the best for their children. Because they have little
knowledge about the balls, they are not likely to engage greatly in solving the social
issue. Rather, they will support the inclusion of the balls in the classroom. According
to their responses, they may be willing to become constituents through donation but
would prefer that others donate the balls. The children are also another example of
allies to the project. Having very little control or freedom in their lives, they cannot
dive into the project in a way that adults can. Rather, they support the use of the balls
and will truly utilize them when they are in the classroom. After searching and
searching, I was not able to find an opponent to the inclusion of these stability balls. If
anything, my only opponent was a sole parent that responded to the survey claiming
that they would not support the use of the balls. Unfortunately, due to confidentiality
of the survey responses, I am unable to identify the specific family and further
question their reasoning for withholding support. From viewing their individual
responses, I can gauge that they are not supportive due to their belief that the balls
would become a distraction. When questioned whether their children would enjoy the
balls, they simply left the comment,

Teenagers and Short Text Messaging
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Text messaging is the most widely used data appliance
in the world, with 2.4 billion users, or 74% of all mobile phone subscribers
(Tedeschi, 2008). Market analysis reveals that consumers purchase phone
applications readily because it is effortless to download an application onto their
mobile phone and also since cash out of pocket is not required, it simply gets added
to their phone bill. Teenagers represent the largest spectrum of these consumers,
who are eager to show off the stunning features of their new phone to their peers.
Parents typically pay the cost of their cell phone plans and typically are unaware of
small charges made on the account. Most phone application downloads range from
free demos to $9.99 pricing. As this venture is maintained via the internet and cell
phone, little to no overhead is required. Most of the costs of goods sold are
represented in the marketing of the product. With grant backing from the National
Science Foundation, Venture Capital investors and built in licensing fees paid direct;
TravellingWave can expect a high profit margin with no initial investment required.
This analysis will show how the VoicePredict product will be successful in market
penetration. COMPANY DESCRIPTION TravellingWave develops software, using

The Lovely Bones and Beloved Essay
A comparison of the ways that the dead affect the living in the novels Beloved by
Toni Morrison and The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.
In the novels that I have chosen to study, several themes are prominent in both. Both
novels deal with a brutal murder of a young female, and the impact surrounding her
death. They also deal with the idea of the dead, directly or indirectly communicating
with the living. The novels address the theory that ghosts cannot move onto the next
life until they have resolved unfinished business on Earth. The idea that the living are
tied to those who die and untimely death is also present in both novels. As well as
these themes which are present in both novels, the novels also share a similar non

Both books deal with the emotional affect that the dead have on the living. First, in
The Lovely Bones, in the moments immediately after Susie s death, her soul rushed
towards Heaven and, as it did so; it touched a young girl called Ruth. Ruth was
sensitive to this presence and despite not having known Susie well from that
moment she became intrigued by her life and her death and began to form what
would become a strong and eternal link between herself and the dead girl. As Ruth
reaches adulthood she becomes sensitive to the dead and to the vibrations that
exist in places where deaths had occurred. This affect is not only emotional but life
changing; Ruth ultimately leads the police to seriously consider Mr. Harvey as
the key suspect in Suzie s murder. As Ruth is sensitive to those who have passed
on, Susie is sensitive to those who remain living. She can read their thoughts,
knows their motives, their emotions and their desires. She can remain close to
those she loved, she watches over them and occasionally, when they are in a
receptive mood, they can feel her presence. These episodes are explained in an
extremely gentle manner by Sebold and in such a matter of fact way that it is
impossible to doubt the veracity of what we are told.
Sethe s language is also used to express the emotional effects of her daughter s death
and troubled past. Instead of using the words remember and forget, Sethe uses the
words rememory (both a noun and a verb here) and
Effects Of European Imperialism On Aboriginal Society
The indigenous cultures of Australia are the oldest living cultural history in the world
and have occupied the land for at least 50,000 years. Prior to European colonisation
Aboriginal people lived a semi nomadic, hunting and gathering lifestyle. European
settlement of Australia beginning in 1788 had devastating impacts the on existing
indigenous population such as the introduction of many fatal, foreign diseases and
loss of land and resources. European establishment brought rapid changes to
Aboriginal society; in particular disease brought by the settlers played a fundamental
role in the breakdown of Indigenous society. Prior to the Macassan visits and the
arrival of the Europeans, Aborigines were generally free from disease however

When European settlers arrived they did not understand the Aboriginals land
ownership system as it was very different from their own. Upon European arrival the
settlers declared the land as terra nullius (land belonging to no one) and took
ownership of the land. The colonial government sold and leased land to the settlers
completely ignoring the deep spiritual connections the Aborigines had with the land.
By 1870s all fertile areas were taken from the Aboriginals and given to the white
settlers. The Europeans built fences, which prevented movement of native fauna and
introduced hard hoofed animals that destroyed the waterways and much of the plant
life; this impacted the Indigenous greatly as it reduced their access to resources. T.L
Mitchell in a Journal of Expedition outlines the impacts of the introduced animals by
thus treading the water into mud, or by drinking it up, they literally destroy the
whole country for the Aborigines, and thereby also banish from it the kangaroos,
emus, and other animals on which they live... that our clove foot should appear

European tactics like letters and protests. British settlement led to a reduction of
access to land and water sources for the Indigenous people which reduced their
A Summary Of Feminist Fairytale Equality For Female...
Good Morning, F.F.E.F.F.C. or more officially, Feminist Fairytale Equality For
Female Characters Conference, thank you for allowing me to be your keynote
speaker and allowing me to share my knowledge with you on an issue I think we
all feel so strongly about. My fellow female characters I want you to just think
about this question, why are females mainly portrayed in literary fiction as docile,
weak and vulnerable beings? Consistently we are made victims of our own stories
waiting to be rescued by a Prince Charming. Yet what we fail to acknowledge is the
impact of our stories and how our very important lives as female characters is
helping to produce a societal upbringing of social genderroles that put females in an
unequal spotlight.
For those who don t know me, I m Molly Whuppie. And I am the protagonist of a
classic Celtic folklore fairytale, a trickster as some may call me. My story has
been passed down for decades and has left me with experience in activism along
with my tireless commitment to people of our specific community. Luckily my
story has been used throughout the years as almost a women empowerment tale.
Unlike many other tales I defeated my own Giant. Obviously, because of the usage
of my quick mind and fast feet I consistently outran and out tricked a mean giant
attempting to kill me. The rarity in my story is exactly the reason why I m here with
you all today. It s the fact that stories like mine are still not primarily represented in
fairytales.
Unfortunately, Even though I defeated my Giant, the reason I had to do what I did
is what connects my stories with you all. I did what I must in order for my sisters
and I to get married. During the time period of my fairytale and so many of yours,
without marriage to enhance our lives and societal status we feel stuck. But now
more than ever, we need to fight back against our original oppressive creators and
rewrite our stories. But it s you that needs to reevaluate and see these problems first
then make the decision that you feel is right in your heart. Just think about all the
roles you ve all played in your own stories, and how they truly play out when you
simplify the plots down. Snow White! Your gender was a threat to another woman

What To Say About Robin Williams
Even more troubling than the misdiagnoses is the fact that an estimated 1.4 million
people are suffering from the disease and might not know it. DLB is the second
most common neurodegenerative dementia after Alzheimer s, says Pantelyat. It is
certainly not rare, it is the most common of the atypical Parkinson disorders that I
deal with. That coupled with a lack of recognition adds up to a lot of patients who
are not getting the appropriate care. Dr. Galvin adds that the general lack of
awareness and standardized testing for the disease only complicates the issue. Even
though the symptoms of LBD are present in the majority of patients, it is difficult to
come up with a standardized way to assess each of the symptoms so that the average

Even though depression is a symptom of LBD, the fact that Williams had suffered
from depression for decades greatly impacted his choice to take his own life. The
world wanted to know how could a man so funny and happy take his own life. As we
learned after Robin Williams suicide, with the help of his widow Susan Williams, we
soon learned all of the facts that lead up to his death. There are many different
degrees of depression ranging from mild to moderate to severe depression. Williams
was suffering from major depressive disorder and Lewy Body Dementia at the time
of his death. He was never officially diagnosed with depression and if not treated
properly it will become worse over time. Drugs and alcohol also played a role in
demise. The fact that Robin Williams was dealing with the debilitating LBD and
untreated severe depressive disorder was just too much for him to bear. Robin
Williams LBD symptoms along with decades struggling with these symptoms had
proved to be too much for him. The suicide of Williams was tragic and
heartbreaking, especially for his family. The world lost an extraordinarily talented
actor, amazing father, husband and human being. We will never have the opportunity
to see another performer or person like Robin Williams
What Is The Purpose Of Mythology Compared To The
Ancient...
I. Introduction to Classical Mythology
1. The importance of the Iliad is that it shows us what the early Greeks were like
which is critical to us the descendants intellectually, and in our politics and art.
2. The Greek miracle is the awakening of Greece which with the disappearance of old
things created a whole new way to look at the world.
3. Compared to the Egyptians, the Greeks were more relaxed and casual evident in
their portrayal of the gods. The Greeks made their gods look human which had never
been done before and they felt at home with them, fearing them yet still at ease
knowing all about what they did and even laughing at them. This is much more
relaxed than the Egyptians as they didn t make their gods human nor did they dare
laugh in their presence.
4. Over time Zeus went from the most powerful god, to a deity that has a moral code
that was enforced upon others but not himself, punisher of those that violate it, to
punisher of those that did wrong and friend of justice. In general Zeus went from a
dictator like state to a more mature and just form of ruler.
5. The three main purposes of myths were for entertainment, religious purposes, and
early literature and science.
II. Chapter 1: The Gods
1. Cronus (Saturn): Cronus was the king of the Titans, the children of the heavens
and earth, and reigned until his son Zeus dethroned him and took power for himself.
According to the Romans after being dethroned, Saturn fled to Italy and brought

The Development Of Children s Education
5 7 years:
This age group of children will have to go through a transition from nursery to
school; reception year, (where practitioners still follow EYFS) and then children
move on to key stage one, (where teachers follow the National Curriculum Key
Stage 1). Children s education is still based on play, however now children have a
lot more of adult led activities in which they learn to concentrate for longer periods of
time. The environment in schools that surrounds children is more complex because
the children get to learn more, therefore some displays might contain bigger amount
of more complex mathematical language than we can find in a nursery setting. As
children go into key stage 1, it isn t the only environmental look that changes, the
equipment is also more complex and advanced because it is aimed for children that
are now at a higher stage of mathematical development. As I discussed earlier Early
Years Foundation Stage changes and becomes the National Curriculum Key Stage 1;
the system changes a little bit and instead of carpet time that children used to have in
the nursery becomes a lesson . Some children in reception might still work on their
emergent mathematics. However, as they move up to Key Stage 1, children begin to
learn a lot more complex mathematics and it is not longer emergent because they
have passed this stage which should be fully achieved by now...
Children who did not go to the nursery might find it harder to learn in school and

Descriptive Essay On A Black Cat
i opened the window pane and felt the cold breeze brush my cheeks. A light
blizzard was raging. It was the beginning of winter. Snow was everywhere and the
visibility was blurring. I let the air in, accompanied by little snowflakes. I saw them
glaze in the streetlight. A large leafless tree lay far from my window. The snow
slowly slid down from the tree and landed on a black cat. I chuckled at the sight of
this subtle romance. The cat meowed. He looked as though he was merrily offering
solace to the leafless tree. In its frail attempt to tease his sole companion, the tree
sprayed more white snow and caressed the black cat. No human being was in sight
on the empty street. The streetlight flickered in the distance. It was dark and no
human in his right mind would venture to go out, or so I thought. As I was admiring
the clasp of beauty the snow held in its... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

smoke blowing out of his mouth. I did not know his name, I realised. I had forgotten
his sound. His heart seemed to be bestrewn with vestiges. He looked at me and
smiled. I heard them again, those small footsteps.
I was in love with the spectacle I saw that day.
Wait, I yelled.
The footsteps stopped.
I handed him a bottle of blended malt, (name) it read. He smiled again. No more
snow on his shoulders, his smile finally reached his eyes. I froze. I could hear the
footsteps fade. Then they stopped.
I put on my overcoat. I ventured into the quiet street outside. The streetlight flickered.
I breathed the breath of the blizzard. The atmosphere was dank. I stared at the white
snow as I let the visiting thoughts that approached my mind sink in.

The Beginning of the Cold War Essay
After all the invasion of different countries in Europe and the killing of so many
lives of innocent people, Adolf Hitler was finally put to stop. One result of the end
of WWII was the division of Germany into four zones controlled by Great Britain,
France, Soviet Union, and the United States. Lack of agreement and compromise
with the Soviet Unionabout the agreement of Germany led to the beginning of the
Cold War. U.S and USSR became focus in an Arms Race to have the greatest nuclear
capability. This lead to the Space Race where another heated competition to whoever

Individuality versus sociality in learning capabilities...
Over the centuries, wild animals have always fascinated humans. As a result, wild
animals have been put on display, but the logistics of these displays have changed
throughout the years to resemble zoos humans now visit (Rutledge et al, 2014).
Enclosures were once very small and did not provide the opportunity for stimulation
that the animals need. There has been a shift from small, sterile enclosures to larger,
more natural enclosures (Shepherdson, 1998). This change in the care of captive
animals was caused by an interest in studying the animals (Shepherdson, 1998).
Studies have revealed the importance of providing captive animals with an
environment in which behaviors typical of the captive species, when in the wild, can
be exercised in the enclosures in which they are housed (Shepherdson, 1998). By
mimicking a natural habitat, scientists are able to observe more natural behavior. If
enrichment is not provided, stereotypic behavior such as pacing, aggression, and
abnormal behavior, may occur. In order to discourage these stereotypic behaviors,
zoologists have begun implementing enrichment programs to stimulate the captive
animals to exhibit more natural behaviors (Swaisgood and Shepherdson, 2005).
Enrichment works to diminish stereotypic behavior and increase the natural behavior
of animals by sculpting the environment of captive animals to provide them with an
environment more similar to that of their wild habitat. Additionally, it provides

The Iphone 6 And The Ipad 6
The world has become more technologically advanced than ever before. In today s
society, people have become overly concerned with keeping up with the newest and
hottest gadgets on the market. Like the majority of Americans, I never leave the
house without my smartphone. People have become reliant upon their phones as a
form of communication, navigation, entertainment and much more. September 2014,
Apple CEO Tim Cook released two new, advanced smartphones, the iPhone6 and the
iPhone 6 Plus. Apple fanatics, including myself, had been anticipating the launch of
the new phones for months. Several hardcore fanatics even lined up outside of Apple
stores across the nation anxious to hold Apple s latest release in their hands. [Apple s
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, both smartphones with advanced computing capability,
seem very similar; however, the two differ in size, battery capability, screen
resolution and price.]
The most noticeable difference between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus is the
size difference. The iPhone 6 Plus is the larger of the two phones, leaving the
iPhone 6 noticeably smaller. Both phones differ in height, width, and weight;
however, the depth of the phones is only 0.01 inch different. The iPhone 6 height is
5.44 inches and its width is 2.64 inches. Its larger counterpart, the iPhone 6 Plus, is
6.22 inches in height and 3.06 inches wide. Noticeably, the height difference is
exactly 0.78 inch and the width difference is 0.42 inch. The phones also differ in
Evaluation Of Mentoring Programs For The United States
Jordan Woltjer

Course Project Part 2
Matz shows that mentoring programs were first instituted in the U.S. in the late 19th
century as an alternative to incarceration to be used in Juvenile Courts under the
supervision of probation officers (2014). According to Matz, these sentencing
policies were inspired by the progressive era s focus on alleviating the mass poverty
that was caused by industrialization, immigration, and urbanization (2014). Blakeslee
and Keller state that The highly renowned Big Brothers Big Sisters of America
(BBBS) mentoring program, for example, began in 1904 in New York City and
today consists of over 375 agencies serving more than 210,000 youth across the
United States (2012). Matz (2014) argues that though mentoring programs are
compatible with a large range of sociological and criminological theories, that their
creation was motivated by a theoretically undeveloped humanitarian instinct that
pervaded the Progressive Era. Despite this, we can still use the empirical evidence of
BBBS programs to test theoretical perspectives such as Differential Association.
The BBBS program matches at risk youth between the ages of 6 and 18 with a
volunteer mentor whose prior screening demonstrated that they are capable of
providing socialization to curb delinquency and anti social behavior (Limber, 2001).
Susan Jekielek says that The Big Brothers/Big Sisters program takes applications
from volunteers in the community and subjects each Mentor to an
The Courage And Loyalty Have Been Used For Many Years
The themes courage and loyalty have been used for many years. The trait courage
means to face difficulty, challenges, and danger, even if there is an element of
major risk and loyalty is to commit or show devotion to something or someone.
Courage and loyalty go together excellently as loyalty towards someone or
something can drive a person to do courageous acts. A great example is the
firefighters at the Chernobyl nuclear accident. These firefighters rushed into the
nuclear power plant after it failed in an effort to put out the fire and save people
and after they were taken to the hospital where they would die of radiation
poisoning. The firefighters demonstrated courage and loyalty towards the people
who needed their help even though it was a dangerous situation. Not only are
these traits shown though out real life, they are also present in the media in the
form of themes. Ranging from television, movies, music, and literature, the theme
loyalty and courage seem to be very popular. One great example of these themes in
the media is the book Home Truths , by Jill Maclean. The story is about a fourteen
year old boy who shows courage and loyalty towards his younger sister as he
protects her from their abusive father. Clearly, these stories have a definitive theme
of loyalty and courage but perhaps, one of the best examples of courage and loyalty
is the novel The Chrysalidsby John Wyndham. The Chrysalids is a story about a boy
named David who can telepathically communicate
The Station Nightclub Fire Explosion
The Station nightclub fire occurred on February 20, 2003, in West Warwick, RI.
The fourth deadliest nightclub fire in U.S. history, a blaze at The Station nightclub
in W. Warwick, RI, on February 20, 2003. The fire was caused by pyrotechnics set
off by the tour manager of the evening s headlining band Great White, which ignited
flammable sound insulation polyurethane foam in the walls and ceilings
surrounding the stage. By this time, the nightclub s fire alarm had been activated,
and although there were four possible exits, most people headed for the front door
through which they had entered. The rapidly moving fire with intense black smoke
engulfed the club in less than 6 minutes. Video footage of the fire shows its
ignition, rapid growth, the heavy smoke quickly made escape impossible, and the
exit blockage that further hindered evacuation. The ensuing stampede led to a crush
in the narrow hallway leading to that exit, quickly blocking the exit completely and
resulting in numerous deaths and injuries among the patrons and staff. The toxic
smoke, heat and the stampede of people toward the exits killed 100; 230 were
injured and another 132 escaped uninjured. A total of 462 people were in the club,
even though the club s official licensed capacity was 404 In the days after the fire,
there were considerable efforts to assign and avoid blame on the part of the band, the
nightclub owners, the manufacturers and distributors of the foam material and
pyrotechnics, and
DesignГ‚ andГ‚ Culture
Design and Culture Abstract: Uses Design in a different way; but one must add that a
universal language is being constructed daily. design is understood here as a
phenomenon which affects everybody. design is characterized by a dual alliance with
both mass production and mass consumption and that these two phenomena have
determined nearly all its manifestations .Industry unconsciously evolved its own
aesthetic, and this aesthetic was from the beginning one which intelligent designers,
whatever their background, tried to obey .
Key Words:

Like Janus, design looks in tow directions at the same time: as a silent quality of all
mass produced goods it plays a generally unacknowledged but vital role in all our
lives; as a named concept within the mass media, it is, however, much more visible
and generally recognized. In this latter guise design becomes an extension of
marketing and advertising. The designer jeans phenomenon, which persuades us to
buy a product because it has been designed, is, culturally speaking, totally distinct
from the activity of the anonymous designers within industry who resolve the
problems of cost, appearance and use in consumer products. The way in which
design as an adjunct of marketing has grown out of design as an aspect of mass
production is a major theme within the story of modem design and the focus of this
book. It is a change which directly mirrors the way in which the model of mass
production industry, as presented by Henry Ford, which dominated American ideas
about industrial organization in the early twentieth century, has been challenged by
an alternative model which stresses batch production, a smaller scale of operations
(or set of operations), and, at times, a fair amount of
The Effect Of Fast Reactants On The Rate Of A Chemical...
Introduction:
The measure of how fast reactants are converted into products is the rate of a
chemical reaction. Some reactions occur more quickly than others, but the reaction
rate can be made faster or slower depending on certain factors. Concentration,
surface area, temperature, and the presence of a catalyst are all factors that can
affect the rate of a reaction. A reaction is considered complete when the entirety of at
least one of the reactants has been converted into products. If the end of a reaction is
indicated by a color change or the formation of a precipitate, then the reaction rate
can be found by measuring the time from when the reactants were mixed to when the
color change occurred or the precipitate was formed.
A rate law ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The overall order of a reaction is calculated by finding the sum of the individual
orders of the reactants.
During the lab, while the concentration of one reactant varied, the concentration of
the other reactant was held constant. The experiment was completed in this particular
manner because the concentration of one reactant had to remain the same in order to
discover how varying the concentration of the other reactant affected the reaction rate.
Learning how to control the rate of a chemical reaction is a big advantage. For
example, knowing that the rusting of iron can be slowed by painting the metal or
covering it with certain substances is beneficial. The purpose of this experiment was
to determine the rate law of a chemical reaction by calculating the change in the rate
of the reaction as the concentration of the reactants are varied.

Persuasive Essay On Online Education
Having finished my vocational training through a local community college,
adjusting to my new job, and having a surplus of free time on my hands, I decided
to continue my education. So many options were available, but not all of them
were viable. Working shift work in the high stress environment of pre hospital
emergency medicine left me with an odd schedule that did not line up well with
attending traditional universities. As I began to explore my options, the idea of
earning an online degree seemed the most likely path to follow. I was skeptical at
first, because I did not hold online learning in a high regard. I began to navigate my
reasoning for these ideas, as I did not entirely understand why I thought this. As I
began to research online degree opportunities and speak with others regarding my
future goals, I realized that others were skeptical about online learning as well. Some
did not think that they had the drive to independently study adequately in an online
setting. Others viewed online universities as scams, and told me that I would just be
wasting my money. After doing some independent research on the topic and testing
the waters myself by enrolling at Northwestern State University, I have concluded
that online learning can be quite effective. There is a reasonable stigma that exists
towards online degree programs, however online learning can effectively educate
future students and prepare them for what lies ahead. Many of my peers that I have

My Motorcycle Wreck
All my life I have been around motorcycles. My father used to let me ride on the
back with him when I was a young child. I remember the feeling that I would get
when he would accelerate. As soon as I could touch the ground, I owned a dirt
bike. I used to love going fast and wheeling down the road for the neighborhood
girls to see. We used to spend hours working on bikes together. That is when I started
to become obsessed with motorcycles.
January 31st, 2016 is the day that I got my first motorcycle. It was the day my
fiancГ© and I were moving to Jacksonville, Florida. We drove for about twenty
minutes, until I got a call from my cousin. He said, Cody I will trade my
motorcycle for your car. So, we met in the Walmart parking lot in Hot Springs
Village, Arkansas. When he pulled up with the motorcycle, I was excited. Then, I
took a joy ride around the parking lot. I could not believe I finally could have my
own motorcycle. I traded my car with a bad transmission for the bike. We were
barely able to pick the back of the bike up to get it in the U Haul truck. When we
got here the movers had beat us here, and were waiting impatiently. So, when we
opened the back of the truck and they saw my heavy motorcycle they were thrilled.
Five months later, I have been living here for a little while now and driving my
motorcycle everywhere has become normal for me. One night, I was on my way to
work at the nursing home. I was
Learning From Nevada Analysis
LEARNING FROM NEVADA ANALYSIS According to, Conclusion: Learning
from Nevada , the main issue that is being discussed in this article is legalized
prostitution in the U.S. It is based on a study done in Nevada, the only state in the
United States, which currently has legalized prostitution. This article offers a lot of
key information that the reader can learn from. My analysis will show the author s
position on legalized prostitution, misconceptions, problems and my analysis on
legalizing prostitution, based on the information, learned from this study.
MISCONCEPTIONS
The author believes that prostitution should be legalized, and has come to this
conclusion, with the evidence of the research done on Nevada brothels. This research
has shown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Policies and laws fail to stop prostitution, and it will not stop. It is more costly to
keep prostitution illegal. Prostitutes will be more vulnerable to getting criminal
records, which then makes it harder for them in society, to obtain legal jobs. Also,
with prostitution being illegal the workers may not be able to protect themselves
from crimes against them. As prostitution is not legal, then they have to find
discreet places to work, which usually is not in a safe environment. If some kind of
crime against them did happen, they may feel that, they aren t able to go to the
police for help, as their work is illegal. It actually makes it harder on the worker, in
turn making it harder for the client. There are all sorts of people who turn to
prostitutes. From blue collar workers to high executives of companies, business
owners and more. With prostitution being illegal, the clients are facing criminal
charges as well. This does not only hurt the client, but communities as well. The
author believes that people around the world have changed their older views and
sexual norms to adapt to a more modern society. Brents, B.A., Jackson, C.A.,
Hausbeck, K. (2010) concludes that prostitution is better being legalized than being
criminalized (p.233). And with this change, people should reevaluate and learn from
Nevada s policies on prostitution being legal. While the author has shown many
reasons why

  • 2. Danger And Cleanup Of Orbital Debris Danger And Cleanup Of Orbital Debris Orbital debris, which are different than space debri, pose a threat to space missions and astronauts. Manny previous missions have left orbital debris in their wake. Most of the debris are left up there until they are pulled toward earth by gravity and then destroyed by earth s atmosphere. Until then the space junk is left to orbit around the earth. The amount of debri continues to grow quicker than the earth can destroy it. Leaving the debri to sit up there unchecked poses dangers for astronauts and space missions both current and future. There are several solutions that scientists have come up with that could help reduce the danger of space debris. Orbital debris are specifically the man made objects that follow a path of orbit around the earth (NASA, 2013). Orbital debris differ from satellites in that they no longer serve a working purpose, making them essentially space junk (NASA, 2013). Orbital debris can sometimes be confused with space debris. The term space debris encompases anyting that is wandering about space or orbiting around something like the sun, manmade or not (NASA, 2013). Things like meteorites and man made objects that are not in orbit around earth (NASA, 2013). While orbital debris only includes man made, unusefull things, that are in orbit around the earth (NASA, 2013). The orbital space junk can wind up floating around the earth in a couple of different ways. One of the most common ways that it can get up there

  • 4. Monetary Policy And Its Effects On Economic Market Generally, interest rates are positive, but they can also be negative due to the monetary policy by government. A negative interest rate is defined as an interest rate below zero, in which the person, bank, etc. lending the money pays interest to the one borrowing the money in dictionary.cambridge.org. In other words, a negative interest ratemeans banks must pay people or firms if they loan money from banks. Furthermore, a negative interest rate also means people must be charged if they put their money in savings account of a bank. Thus, this policy is major to encourage everyone instead of hoarding their cash but spending, investing, and extending more loans. Negative interest rate policy first came out in the early 1970s, when the Swiss government ran a negative interest rate regime to counter its currency appreciation due to investors fleeing inflationin other areas of the world. Then, in 2009 to 2010 Sweden and in 2012 Denmark used negative interest rates to stem hot money flows into their economic market. Next, in 2014 the European Central Bankinstituted a negative interest rate that only applied to bank deposits intended to prevent the Eurozone from falling into a situation of deflation. Recently, this year on January 29th the Bank of Japan announced its benchmark interest rate below zero in an attempt to counteract the effects of falling oil prices and China s slowdown. (BoJ joins the party [PDF document], n.d.) Nowadays, there are five central banks that still
  • 5. Test Anxiety And Performance That Indicate A Relationship... Numerous studies have been conducted in regards to test anxiety and performance that indicate a relationship between anxiety, preparation and test performance. One of the first indications to be successful when considering performance is to be equipped with knowledge. What is Test Anxiety? According to a DSM 5 review by BoВЁgels, Alden, Beidel, Clark Pine, Stein, and Voncken test anxietyis defined as an excessive degree of fear, worry, and apprehension before, during, and/or after test situations, with symptoms of physiological reactivity and concern regarding (the consequences of) poor performance. Is it a mental disorder? During the rewrite of the DSM IV, test anxiety was taken for inclusion as a form of Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). Nevertheless, the decision was made not to include test anxiety alone inasmuch as it was hard to define and appeared to get too large a range of the population (up to 40%). Bogel et al. Granting to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th Ed.; DSM 5; American Psychiatric Association, 2014) test anxiety is not identified as a disorder. However, it is identified as a sub category of social phobia in Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD). According to Bogel et. al, when considering a diagnosis you must assess the core issue surrounding the test anxiety, for example, if there is a social humiliation component or relation to general negative outcomes or if there is a relation to obsessive
  • 6. World Gains From Optimism What the world gains from Optimism: Usually, when you think of an optimist, you might think of a bright cheery person wearing bright happy colors skipping happily down a sidewalk, right? And while that sounds like a wonderful way to live, that s not quite how optimism always looks. (But hey, if it works for you, be my guest!) Optimism is often overlooked and misunderstood in today s society. We really have no idea how beneficial the effects of optimism are for us. From healthier hearts to even living longer, optimism sure is a helpful tool that s easily accessible and makes the journey of life a lot more fun! Optimism shockingly, has a direct correlation to physical health as seen in many researches conducted by multiple people. A healthier... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Researchers actually found that individual factors like age, income level, education, gender, etc. had a smaller than expected impact on optimism, and that national factors like GDP and life expectancy didn t really have an impact on optimism at all. So really no matter how harsh the circumstances, we all can be positive. Findings from a study conducted a few years ago by neuroscientist Elizabeth Phelps suggest that directing our thoughts of the future toward the positive is a result of our frontal cortex communicating with subcortical regions deep in our brain. The frontal cortex, a large area behind the forehead, is the most recently evolved part of the brain. It is larger in humans than in other primates and is critical for many complex human functions such as language and goal setting. We just have to use that frontal cortex and decide to choose the positive route. So now we know how beneficial it is for us to use that daily optimistic thinking. From heart health, boosted immune systems, and longer lives optimism can do it all for us. Lots of people in our society don t always adapt to this system because of older primal habit, but as proven, anyone can change to the positive side as long as their willing. So are you ready to smile nonstop, wear bright clothes, and skip everywhere? Let s be

  • 9. Trichinosis Research Paper Trichinosis Trichinosis is a rare infection caused by a parasitic worm. People can become infected by eating the raw or undercooked meat of an animal infected with this worm. Bear meat and pig meat are possible sources of this infection. The severity of the illness will vary depending on the number of worms in the contaminated meat that is eaten. Once the worms are eaten, they enter the intestines and can cause symptoms. From there, the worms travel through blood vessels to other areas of the body. When worms reach the muscles, a cyst forms around the worms. The illness can range from mild to severe. In mild to moderate cases, most symptoms will go away in a few months. The infection can cause serious health problems if the worms heavily

Coraghessan Boyle is a coming of age story about an adolescent boy and his two friends on their journey to self awareness The protagonist and his friends create a bad boy facade in order to fit in, but as the story unravels, they begin to remove their disguise in their discovery that what is in trend is not always morally right. The protagonist, who is also the narrator of the story, transitions from a naГЇve boy who is a rebellious exhibitionist unsure of his true identity to a more mature man that realizes what it really means to be bad after one night s traumatizing events. Although the protagonist and his two friends think they are truly bad characters, they are ultimately just rebellious teenagers. Boyle presents the three boys as being wild and bad but quickly eliminates those traits, as the reader understands that they are just three boys acting out as unaware self entitled teenagers. Truly bad characters do not still live with their parents at nineteen or drive their parent s station wagon (Boyle 409). There are many acts of rebellion in Greasy Lake. Most of the things that the protagonist does are illegal, and things that no parent wants their child to do. The narrator and his

It sparked the transition from a republican to an imperial system of government for Rome. There are three points that suggest why his assassination was the key moment for the transition to take place. During his time as proconsul, Caesar saw a great opportunity in obtaining control over the Gallic province to the North of Rome, as he believed that the centralization of power was accomplished through gaining land. By the end of the Gallic Wars in 51 BCE, Caesar had reduced to the form of a province the whole of Gaul enclosed by the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Cevennes, the Rhine, and the Rhone about 640 000 square miles (Suetonius, Julius Caesar, 25). One of Caesar s motives for taking control of this much land was that it was a major expansion of the Roman frontier. It created a complete circuit of his empire, which would then be bounded on all sides by the ocean (Plutarch. 579). Caesar s strong interest in centralizing power within Rome died with him, the old form of a republic government was exhausted. Knowing this, Caesar made no attempt to mask his opinion, bypassing traditional practices (Bradley, 393). Opportunity Competition Accuflow has long been a market leader in the hydraulic valves market that commanded a premium price for its products. In recent years however, consumer preference have begun to change from buying hydraulic valves from suppliers to buying full hydraulic systems instead. Accuflow has its roots in its groove casing technology historically and does not have the same competitive lead in integrating its products into one such system whose demand has recently surfaced. The management team has looked hard into this issue and Accuflow is en route to diversifying its product lines to increase its competitiveness. Given Accuflow s superior products and brand name, it is difficult to tell whether Accuflow will lose the race in diversification of its products. Moreover, the sales of hydraulic systems tend to be somewhat sensitive to the capital spending cycle in the manufacturing sector while sales of hydraulic valves are not. The reasons are self service options are more efficient and gives the customer control of the situation. Cross border government borrowing enables governments to substantially increase their access to cheap credit and is a particularly attractive option to finance government programs. While raising taxes or cutting governmentexpenditure can be politically treacherous, borrowing in the form of government issued bonds enables governments to fund programs and prompt growth, which is especially important in developing nations, while smoothing over the costs over a longer period of time in the future. And while governments may be able to issue and sell bonds to exclusively its domestic population, doing so is less desirable. For one, the limited amount of domestic creditors means the government will be forced to pay higher interest rates on their bonds. Secondly, issuing bonds to exclusively the domestic population is more contractionary than the alternative of selling bonds to the international community at large, as it takes money out of the money supply, which can slow economic growth. Therefore, in order to eschew some of the negative effects that comes with selling bonds exclusively to a domestic population, many governments are willing to engage in cross border governmental borrowing. With few options available, youths were indiscriminately confined with hardened adult criminals in large, overcrowded, and lifeless penal institutions. Work by pioneering penal reformers eventually led to change. The Missouri Model of juvenile justice was born after a 1969 federal report condemned quasi penal military atmospheres found in juvenile jails (Mendel 2010). Institutions that follow the Missouri Model focus on restorative justice, access to group treatment, individual therapy, and a humane environment. Juvenile offenders have basic necessities such as food and shelter, but also have access to education, recreation, health care, and counseling, all provided in a safe atmosphere. The Missouri Model of juvenile justice was initially intended to be a pilot program in Missouri, but has now spread its influence and success to California, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Washington D.C (Lombardi 2011). • 31. The Prevalence Of Refractive Errors In Children Refractive errors are the result of misaligned optical components within the eye causing improper focusing of light onto the retina. Although the optical components may vary by a minute amount, the resulted blurred vision will not only affect the individual but also society in terms of the health industry, education, research and socioeconomics. As a result of the impact of refractive errors, there has been an increasing emphasis for research and action plans placed by eyehealth organisations and the government on the development, prevention and control of refractive errors. As a child s eye begins to develop and undergo emmetropization, there is a dynamic change to the optical components such as the crystalline lens, cornea and axial length. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most common cause of visual impairment is due to uncorrected refractive error. 2 Studies by researchers by the Brien Holden Vision Institute approximates the cost to correct refractive errors to be US$20 045 million.2 The correction of refractive errors make a worthwhile investment as uncorrected refractive errors cause an estimated US$91,300 million US$327,000 million loss in productivity. 2 In order to minimise this loss of productivity, it is imperative for the government to support visual health sectors. Therefore, due to the high economic costs of refractive error, family, communities and the government must implement preventative or corrective measures. There are high costs for poverty stricken nations tackling uncorrected refractive errors. The impact of blindness of a country can amount to $42 billion in 2000. 2 This large sum will be very difficult to set aside and invest in eye health in developing countries. When eye health is left untreated this will often increase the cost of repairing eye health issues which furthers the cycle of decreasing eye health care. Therefore, it is ideal for developing countries to highly invest in quality eye care as soon as they can afford to train health

With little knowledge of the balls and their benefits, they still pledged support to the concept, wanting the best for their children. Because they have little knowledge about the balls, they are not likely to engage greatly in solving the social issue. Rather, they will support the inclusion of the balls in the classroom. According to their responses, they may be willing to become constituents through donation but would prefer that others donate the balls. The children are also another example of allies to the project. Having very little control or freedom in their lives, they cannot dive into the project in a way that adults can. Rather, they support the use of the balls and will truly utilize them when they are in the classroom. After searching and searching, I was not able to find an opponent to the inclusion of these stability balls. If anything, my only opponent was a sole parent that responded to the survey claiming that they would not support the use of the balls. Unfortunately, due to confidentiality of the survey responses, I am unable to identify the specific family and further question their reasoning for withholding support. From viewing their individual responses, I can gauge that they are not supportive due to their belief that the balls would become a distraction. When questioned whether their children would enjoy the balls, they simply left the comment,

Teenagers and Short Text Messaging EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Text messaging is the most widely used data appliance in the world, with 2.4 billion users, or 74% of all mobile phone subscribers (Tedeschi, 2008). Market analysis reveals that consumers purchase phone applications readily because it is effortless to download an application onto their mobile phone and also since cash out of pocket is not required, it simply gets added to their phone bill. Teenagers represent the largest spectrum of these consumers, who are eager to show off the stunning features of their new phone to their peers. Parents typically pay the cost of their cell phone plans and typically are unaware of small charges made on the account. Most phone application downloads range from free demos to $9.99 pricing. As this venture is maintained via the internet and cell phone, little to no overhead is required. Most of the costs of goods sold are represented in the marketing of the product. With grant backing from the National Science Foundation, Venture Capital investors and built in licensing fees paid direct; TravellingWave can expect a high profit margin with no initial investment required. • 35. The Lovely Bones and Beloved Essay A comparison of the ways that the dead affect the living in the novels Beloved by Toni Morrison and The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. In the novels that I have chosen to study, several themes are prominent in both. Both novels deal with a brutal murder of a young female, and the impact surrounding her death. They also deal with the idea of the dead, directly or indirectly communicating with the living. The novels address the theory that ghosts cannot move onto the next life until they have resolved unfinished business on Earth. The idea that the living are tied to those who die and untimely death is also present in both novels. As well as these themes which are present in both novels, the novels also share a similar non linear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both books deal with the emotional affect that the dead have on the living. First, in The Lovely Bones, in the moments immediately after Susie s death, her soul rushed towards Heaven and, as it did so; it touched a young girl called Ruth. Ruth was sensitive to this presence and despite not having known Susie well from that moment she became intrigued by her life and her death and began to form what would become a strong and eternal link between herself and the dead girl. As Ruth reaches adulthood she becomes sensitive to the dead and to the vibrations that exist in places where deaths had occurred. This affect is not only emotional but life changing; Ruth ultimately leads the police to seriously consider Mr. Harvey as the key suspect in Suzie s murder. As Ruth is sensitive to those who have passed on, Susie is sensitive to those who remain living. She can read their thoughts, knows their motives, their emotions and their desires. She can remain close to those she loved, she watches over them and occasionally, when they are in a receptive mood, they can feel her presence. These episodes are explained in an extremely gentle manner by Sebold and in such a matter of fact way that it is impossible to doubt the veracity of what we are told. Sethe s language is also used to express the emotional effects of her daughter s death and troubled past. Instead of using the words remember and forget, Sethe uses the words rememory (both a noun and a verb here) and

Effects Of European Imperialism On Aboriginal Society The indigenous cultures of Australia are the oldest living cultural history in the world and have occupied the land for at least 50,000 years. By 1870s all fertile areas were taken from the Aboriginals and given to the white settlers. The Europeans built fences, which prevented movement of native fauna and introduced hard hoofed animals that destroyed the waterways and much of the plant life; this impacted the Indigenous greatly as it reduced their access to resources. Good Morning, F.F.E.F.F.C. or more officially, Feminist Fairytale Equality For Female Characters Conference, thank you for allowing me to be your keynote speaker and allowing me to share my knowledge with you on an issue I think we all feel so strongly about. My fellow female characters I want you to just think about this question, why are females mainly portrayed in literary fiction as docile, weak and vulnerable beings? Consistently we are made victims of our own stories waiting to be rescued by a Prince Charming. Yet what we fail to acknowledge is the impact of our stories and how our very important lives as female characters is helping to produce a societal upbringing of social genderroles that put females in an unequal spotlight. For those who don t know me, I m Molly Whuppie. And I am the protagonist of a classic Celtic folklore fairytale, a trickster as some may call me. My story has been passed down for decades and has left me with experience in activism along with my tireless commitment to people of our specific community. Luckily my story has been used throughout the years as almost a women empowerment tale. Unlike many other tales I defeated my own Giant. Obviously, because of the usage of my quick mind and fast feet I consistently outran and out tricked a mean giant attempting to kill me. The rarity in my story is exactly the reason why I m here with you all today. It s the fact that stories like mine are still not primarily represented in fairytales. Unfortunately, Even though I defeated my Giant, the reason I had to do what I did is what connects my stories with you all. I did what I must in order for my sisters and I to get married. During the time period of my fairytale and so many of yours, without marriage to enhance our lives and societal status we feel stuck. But now more than ever, we need to fight back against our original oppressive creators and rewrite our stories. But it s you that needs to reevaluate and see these problems first then make the decision that you feel is right in your heart. Just think about all the roles you ve all played in your own stories, and how they truly play out when you simplify the plots down. Snow White! Your gender was a threat to another woman and you

The Greeks made their gods look human which had never been done before and they felt at home with them, fearing them yet still at ease knowing all about what they did and even laughing at them. • 45. Individuality versus sociality in learning capabilities... Over the centuries, wild animals have always fascinated humans. As a result, wild animals have been put on display, but the logistics of these displays have changed throughout the years to resemble zoos humans now visit (Rutledge et al, 2014). Enclosures were once very small and did not provide the opportunity for stimulation that the animals need. There has been a shift from small, sterile enclosures to larger, more natural enclosures (Shepherdson, 1998). This change in the care of captive animals was caused by an interest in studying the animals (Shepherdson, 1998). Studies have revealed the importance of providing captive animals with an environment in which behaviors typical of the captive species, when in the wild, can be exercised in the enclosures in which they are housed (Shepherdson, 1998). By mimicking a natural habitat, scientists are able to observe more natural behavior. If enrichment is not provided, stereotypic behavior such as pacing, aggression, and abnormal behavior, may occur. In order to discourage these stereotypic behaviors, zoologists have begun implementing enrichment programs to stimulate the captive animals to exhibit more natural behaviors (Swaisgood and Shepherdson, 2005). Enrichment works to diminish stereotypic behavior and increase the natural behavior of animals by sculpting the environment of captive animals to provide them with an environment more similar to that of their wild habitat. Additionally, it provides different

Evaluation Of Mentoring Programs For The United States Jordan Woltjer 11/16/2016 Course Project Part 2 Matz shows that mentoring programs were first instituted in the U.S. in the late 19th century as an alternative to incarceration to be used in Juvenile Courts under the supervision of probation officers (2014). According to Matz, these sentencing policies were inspired by the progressive era s focus on alleviating the mass poverty that was caused by industrialization, immigration, and urbanization (2014). Blakeslee and Keller state that The highly renowned Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBS) mentoring program, for example, began in 1904 in New York City and today consists of over 375 agencies serving more than 210,000 youth across the United States (2012). Matz (2014) argues that though mentoring programs are compatible with a large range of sociological and criminological theories, that their creation was motivated by a theoretically undeveloped humanitarian instinct that pervaded the Progressive Era. Despite this, we can still use the empirical evidence of BBBS programs to test theoretical perspectives such as Differential Association. The BBBS program matches at risk youth between the ages of 6 and 18 with a volunteer mentor whose prior screening demonstrated that they are capable of providing socialization to curb delinquency and anti social behavior (Limber, 2001). Susan Jekielek says that The Big Brothers/Big Sisters program takes applications from volunteers in the community and subjects each Mentor to an
  • 48. The Courage And Loyalty Have Been Used For Many Years The themes courage and loyalty have been used for many years. The trait courage means to face difficulty, challenges, and danger, even if there is an element of major risk and loyalty is to commit or show devotion to something or someone. Courage and loyalty go together excellently as loyalty towards someone or something can drive a person to do courageous acts. A great example is the firefighters at the Chernobyl nuclear accident. These firefighters rushed into the nuclear power plant after it failed in an effort to put out the fire and save people and after they were taken to the hospital where they would die of radiation poisoning. The firefighters demonstrated courage and loyalty towards the people who needed their help even though it was a dangerous situation. Not only are these traits shown though out real life, they are also present in the media in the form of themes. Ranging from television, movies, music, and literature, the theme loyalty and courage seem to be very popular. One great example of these themes in the media is the book Home Truths , by Jill Maclean. The story is about a fourteen year old boy who shows courage and loyalty towards his younger sister as he protects her from their abusive father. Clearly, these stories have a definitive theme of loyalty and courage but perhaps, one of the best examples of courage and loyalty is the novel The Chrysalidsby John Wyndham. The Chrysalids is a story about a boy named David who can telepathically communicate

The fire was caused by pyrotechnics set off by the tour manager of the evening s headlining band Great White, which ignited flammable sound insulation polyurethane foam in the walls and ceilings surrounding the stage. By this time, the nightclub s fire alarm had been activated, and although there were four possible exits, most people headed for the front door through which they had entered. In this latter guise design becomes an extension of marketing and advertising. The designer jeans phenomenon, which persuades us to buy a product because it has been designed, is, culturally speaking, totally distinct from the activity of the anonymous designers within industry who resolve the problems of cost, appearance and use in consumer products. The way in which design as an adjunct of marketing has grown out of design as an aspect of mass production is a major theme within the story of modem design and the focus of this book. It is a change which directly mirrors the way in which the model of mass production industry, as presented by Henry Ford, which dominated American ideas about industrial organization in the early twentieth century, has been challenged by an alternative model which stresses batch production, a smaller scale of operations (or set of operations), and, at times, a fair amount of
  • 51. The Effect Of Fast Reactants On The Rate Of A Chemical... Introduction: The measure of how fast reactants are converted into products is the rate of a chemical reaction. Some reactions occur more quickly than others, but the reaction rate can be made faster or slower depending on certain factors. Concentration, surface area, temperature, and the presence of a catalyst are all factors that can affect the rate of a reaction. A reaction is considered complete when the entirety of at least one of the reactants has been converted into products. If the end of a reaction is indicated by a color change or the formation of a precipitate, then the reaction rate can be found by measuring the time from when the reactants were mixed to when the color change occurred or the precipitate was formed. A rate law ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The overall order of a reaction is calculated by finding the sum of the individual orders of the reactants. During the lab, while the concentration of one reactant varied, the concentration of the other reactant was held constant. The experiment was completed in this particular manner because the concentration of one reactant had to remain the same in order to discover how varying the concentration of the other reactant affected the reaction rate. Learning how to control the rate of a chemical reaction is a big advantage. For example, knowing that the rusting of iron can be slowed by painting the metal or covering it with certain substances is beneficial. Persuasive Essay On Online Education Having finished my vocational training through a local community college, adjusting to my new job, and having a surplus of free time on my hands, I decided to continue my education. So many options were available, but not all of them were viable. Working shift work in the high stress environment of pre hospital emergency medicine left me with an odd schedule that did not line up well with attending traditional universities. As I began to explore my options, the idea of earning an online degree seemed the most likely path to follow. I was skeptical at first, because I did not hold online learning in a high regard. I began to navigate my reasoning for these ideas, as I did not entirely understand why I thought this. As I began to research online degree opportunities and speak with others regarding my future goals, I realized that others were skeptical about online learning as well. Some did not think that they had the drive to independently study adequately in an online setting. Others viewed online universities as scams, and told me that I would just be wasting my money. After doing some independent research on the topic and testing the waters myself by enrolling at Northwestern State University, I have concluded that online learning can be quite effective. There is a reasonable stigma that exists towards online degree programs, however online learning can effectively educate future students and prepare them for what lies ahead. Many of my peers that I have spoken to about

My father used to let me ride on the back with him when I was a young child. I remember the feeling that I would get when he would accelerate. As soon as I could touch the ground, I owned a dirt bike. I used to love going fast and wheeling down the road for the neighborhood girls to see. We used to spend hours working on bikes together. That is when I started to become obsessed with motorcycles. January 31st, 2016 is the day that I got my first motorcycle. It was the day my fiancГ© and I were moving to Jacksonville, Florida. We drove for about twenty minutes, until I got a call from my cousin. He said, Cody I will trade my motorcycle for your car. So, we met in the Walmart parking lot in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. When he pulled up with the motorcycle, I was excited. Then, I took a joy ride around the parking lot. I could not believe I finally could have my own motorcycle. I traded my car with a bad transmission for the bike. We were barely able to pick the back of the bike up to get it in the U Haul truck. When we got here the movers had beat us here, and were waiting impatiently. So, when we opened the back of the truck and they saw my heavy motorcycle they were thrilled. Five months later, I have been living here for a little while now and driving my motorcycle everywhere has become normal for me. One night, I was on my way to work at the nursing home. I was

MISCONCEPTIONS The author believes that prostitution should be legalized, and has come to this conclusion, with the evidence of the research done on Nevada brothels. This research has shown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Policies and laws fail to stop prostitution, and it will not stop. It is more costly to keep prostitution illegal. Prostitutes will be more vulnerable to getting criminal records, which then makes it harder for them in society, to obtain legal jobs. Also, with prostitution being illegal the workers may not be able to protect themselves from crimes against them. As prostitution is not legal, then they have to find discreet places to work, which usually is not in a safe environment. If some kind of crime against them did happen, they may feel that, they aren t able to go to the police for help, as their work is illegal. It actually makes it harder on the worker, in turn making it harder for the client. There are all sorts of people who turn to prostitutes. From blue collar workers to high executives of companies, business owners and more. With prostitution being illegal, the clients are facing criminal charges as well. This does not only hurt the client, but communities as well. The author believes that people around the world have changed their older views and sexual norms to adapt to a more modern society. Brents, B.A., Jackson, C.A., Hausbeck, K. (2010) concludes that prostitution is better being legalized than being criminalized (p.233). And with this change, people should reevaluate and learn from Nevada s policies on prostitution being legal. While the author has shown many reasons why
