Essay For Summer
Crafting an essay on the theme "Essay For Summer" may initially seem like a delightful task,
brimming with memories of sun-soaked days, leisurely vacations, and the warmth of the season.
However, delving into the intricacies of this seemingly carefree subject unveils a challenge that
requires a delicate balance between nostalgia and analytical thought.
The difficulty arises from the vastness of the summer experience itself. Attempting to encapsulate
the essence of summer in a limited number of words demands a careful selection of events,
emotions, and sensory details. From the languid afternoons spent by the pool to the thrill of
spontaneous road trips, each aspect of summer carries its unique weight, making it challenging to
strike the right chord without sacrificing depth.
Furthermore, avoiding clichГ©s becomes a paramount concern. Summer often evokes
stereotypical images of beach scenes, ice creams, and sunsets. Crafting an essay that stands out
necessitates steering clear of the overused tropes while delving into personal experiences and
reflections. This requires a heightened level of creativity and an ability to see beyond the surface
of common summer activities.
The temporal nature of summer adds another layer of complexity. Capturing the ephemeral
beauty of the season, where joy and warmth seem to dance on the edge of time, requires a
nuanced approach to language. Expressing the transient nature of summer without succumbing to
sentimentality or clichГ©d expressions is a tightrope walk that demands a keen understanding of
the nuances of language.
Moreover, the challenge lies in creating a narrative that resonates universally. While personal
experiences provide authenticity, weaving a story that connects with a diverse audience
necessitates a thoughtful exploration of themes that transcend individual anecdotes. This requires
a delicate blend of introspection and empathy to create an essay that not only reflects the
author's experiences but also resonates with readers from various backgrounds.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "Essay For Summer" proves to be a task that extends
beyond the surface of sunny days and warm breezes. It involves navigating through the intricate
tapestry of personal memories, societal expectations, and the ephemeral nature of the season.
Despite its challenges, the process of crafting such an essay can be a rewarding journey that
captures the essence of summer in a way that is both unique and universally relatable.

Nurturing Donor Analysis
Nurturing Donors Organizations must view their potential donors as people instead
of a potential donation. Organizations must effectively and efficiently collect and
organize data about each potential donor in order to tailor strategies and techniques
that encourage and persuade the individual to support their cause (Weinstein, 2013, p.
110). Organizations must listen carefully to the desires of the potential donor and use
this information to create an appeal for support. Once this information is collected it
should be documented using fundraising software or an Excel spreadsheet
(Weinstein, 2013, p. 73). Although data collection and organizational systems are
great, they are useless if the organization does not use the information to request
support from unique donors (Weinstein, 2013, p. 111).

Rockford Lutheran must identify prosperous individuals who have a personal
relationship with someone connected to the athletic department (Weinstein, 2013, p.

potential to make a substantial donation. It is important the person that has a
previous relationship with the potential donor is the one that seeks their support
(Weinstein 2013, p. 105). It is important that the request for support is done in
person and that the solicitor is well prepared with a personalized case statement
(Weinstein, 2013, p. 66). The athletic director should also invite a wealthy donor or
potential donor out to lunch. This informal lunch is also a great way to build a
relationship that can last for years to come (Weinstein, 2013, p.
Merion Veenom Soccer Tribe Analysis
Tribe, described by the dictionary as, Any aggregate of people united by ties of
descent from a common ancestor, community of customs and traditions , can cause
many people to often tumble into disagreement with one another over the meaning of
this word. Arguments have lead people to believe that the word triberefers to a group
of people that are primitive and savage, but Archeologists have cleaned up the
meaning. Archaeologists define the word tribe as, A political group that comprises
several bands or lineage groups, each with similar language and lifestyle and each
occupying a distinct territory (Keim, pg. 114). The word tribe not only applies to
the Native Americans as one would think. Tribe can be a label applied to any specific

Each player in the team may have separate backgrounds, but when united they all
believe in a few things. The team itself believes that they always need to be
focused and always need to show up with intensity whether they have a practice or
a game. The Venom, were a newly created soccer team in 2014 by coach Steve
Baron. They understand their world as a place to get better, and a place to
compete. Every single kid on the team understands the other teams as enemies that
they need to concor. Each child has a different life story about how they became
the person they were. For example, some kids were born in Bryn Mawr,
Philadelphia, and some kids were born in Trinidad and Tobago. The kids come from
many different backgrounds, but all unite because they understand the world the
same. Alike the Native Americans and African tribes, the Venom perform the same
rituals before each game and practice. They eat the same foods, always healthy, and
they get themselves loose in the same way each time. They always eat healthy foods
like salads, fruits, and vegetables but they never eat something that could weight
them down like junk food. Before each game, the team performs the same warm up,
they jog, they spring, they do high knees, etc. These rituals before a game never
change, similar to how the Native Americans rituals never change. Because many of
the members come from different backgrounds, there is a stern difference between
how they differentiate themselves. Many kids show up to practices in clothes that
they wear on a daily basis, so for some people, that s different. Kids show up in
jackets, shorts, gloves, hats, jerseys, anything under the sun. The catch is that they
are always unique, the outfits are never similar to the others. Although we all share
the same interests, we all differentiate from another because of our styles of life. In
2014, the team was created,

Race and Ethnicity
Ethnicity and race have been used in American society to the point where both words
are indistinguishable from each other. Race is a social construct (Throop, Lecture, 10
/8/2015). Race is a social construct because race is used to differentiate the different
ethnic groups from each other. Race should not be used to separate the different
ethnic groups. In American society, it is evident that certain ethnic groups are singled
out for the problems in our society. Usually those ethnic groups are minorities.
African Americans and Latinos are usually the minorities that are singled out for the
problems or benefit of the majority. In the article, Who Dat?: Race and Its
Conspicuous Consumption in Post Katrina New Orleans, Marc Perry states how
African American citizens were affected by the devastating hurricane Katrina in 2005
and how the citizens reacted before and after hurricane Katrina to the relocation of
African Americans to other places for the restructuring of New Orleans (Perry). In a
related article titled, Putting the Ninth Ward on the map: Race, Place, and
Transformation in Desire, New Orleans, Rachel Breunlin and Helen Regis state how
African Americans living in New Orleans before and after hurricane Katrina were
being dislocated for the benefit of whites for the restructuring of Post Katrina in

Negligence Law
In order to successfully establish General Motor s negligence, the product liability
case must comply with the following established principles:
1)Is there a Duty of Care toward the injured party?
Indisputably, General Motors has a duty of care. The responsibility of a manufacturer
was established in Donaghue v. Stevenson, (1932) A.C. 562, which established the
principle that manufacturers have the duty to ensure that the ultimate consumers of
their product do not sustain injuries as a result of the use of their products.
Manufacturers of goods and services are subject to a high duty of care given that
these businesses commercially profit from the purchase and use of their products.
2)What is the standard of care that should be applied in this particular instance?
Once a duty of care has been established, the defendant(s) standard of care must then
be determined. In view of the fact that General Motors stands to commercially gain a
significant amount of revenue and profit from the sale of their products, these large
multi national firms are positioned with a high

For example, it maybe information held about a loan that a person has taken out as a
check on their credit rating.
The act gives people the right to see personal file, for example one held by a bank on
a customer s creditworthiness. In the Data
Protection Act 1998 it was updated legislation and gave employees the right to see
the personal files.
Organisations are only allowed to keep relevant information on customers for the
purpose for which it was collected and not longer than is necessary. For example a
tour operator which collects names and addresses of customers when they enter a
competition cannot keep the data and use it for other promotional activities unless the
customer gives permission. The tour operator is not allowed to sell the data to
another organisation either.
It was passed in order to protect the rights of individuals who have data relating to
them stored on computers file by an organisation or the owner of the data. The rapid
development in the use of information and communication technology has led to
legislation about the collection, storage, processing and distribution of personal data.
Under the provision of the act a person can find out the information which is held on

The Medieval Er The Great Height Of Glorious...
In today s day and age, a common view of the Medieval Era is that it was a dark
period, full of non civility and ignorance. It is a generally accepted approach to
consider only the bad aspects of the time, and one either ignores or has no knowledge
of the many accomplishments that occurred during this period. Although it is true
that there were bad aspects about the Medieval Era, no time is without its faults, and
this period in particular rose to a great height of glorious accomplishment and
advancement that continues to benefit the world today. The Medieval times are
commonly considered to be a time of social oppression and religious superstition, but
in reality the advancements of this time clearly show that it was not a Dark Age, as...

In this age, the invention of the scale was produced, a musical technique that is one
of the foundations of modern music.5 Gregorian Chant, long attributed to Pope
Gregory the Great, is a beautiful style of music shown to date from the 7th Century;
and it continues to be used in the Catholic Church today.6 Lastly, there are the many
extraordinary painting accomplishments that occurred during this time, such as the
foundation of a unique art school by an Italian shepherd named Giotto.7 This school
taught a form of painting that portrayed art both realistically and beautifully.8

Words to Live By There are many quotes that have deep meanings to me, so it is
difficult for me to pick just one to write about. The difficulty in finding [a] quote(s)
is that almost nobody is going to feel and/or understand the way you interpret a
quote. Quotes have different meanings to everyone, and for some, a quote is not
something that can explained, but something a person must feel. I guess since I
have to choose I would choose the lyrics to Angel by Theory of a Deadman. The
lyrics to Angel include the line, Her halo is broken, but there s fight in her eyes.
This quote has a deep meaning to me because it signifies not only myself but also,

Some people say the song is a ballad about a man who s in love with an angel but
realizes that he eventually has to let her go; while others interpret the song as being
about a man who falls in love with a girl but the girl has gone through a tough time
and ends up killing herself, thus becoming an angel. As someone who has gone
through an insane amount of tough experiences in her life from being bullied
from the time she started school at Lanier County until she moved to Valwood this
song has a meaning to me that cannot simply be expressed in words. The quote is
more than just the lyrics of a song. The words are an encouragement, and they are
meaningful. They inspire me to remember that even when I get knocked down I
need to get back up and be ready to fight. This quote is not simply something that
can be expressed in words because it conveys an emotional feeling that is
significant to me. The quote I chose is meaningful to me because it is about
someone who has been beaten down in ways others may not be able to comprehend,
but she prevails above all odds and is stronger and wiser for what she went
Macbeth s Murder Of Duncan
There are times where we as human beings make choices we later on regret and feel
remorseful about. No matter the number of times we make incorrect choices we
eventually feel regretfulness; this is a natural human reaction. This essay s center of
attention is regret. The quote I will be referring to is: I had most need of blessing,
and Amen Stuck in my throat . (2.2.34 35), Macbethsays this to Lady Macbeth. In
this personal essay, I will be talking about Macbeth s reaction to his murder of
Duncan, an experience of my own, and the similarities between the reactions of the
two scenarios altogether relate to the quote.
This quote relates to Macbeth s reaction to his murder of Duncan because Macbeth
feels a guilt of what he has done. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When I was in the 9th grade, I had a huge unit test in Science and I wanted to do
really well on it. This test would decide our grade going into summatives and final
examinations. Therefore, I put the necessary effort and studied well to be able to
score significantly high on the test. The day arrived where I found out what I
made on the test. To my shocking surprise, I only made a 70! I was devastated, I
put in this much effort, with the confidence I had after taking the test and this
result came out. All my friends got low to mid 90 s and some even got high 90 s. I
was torn apart, when they asked me what I made I lied and told them I made a 94.
They were not expecting any less since they knew how much effort I put into the
test and they were proud of me. My experience goes in relation with the quote
because I lied to my friends about what I got on a test because I did not deserved
the grade I put the required effort for. Eventually, the guilt and remorsefulness
started taking over me and it was horrible. I tried to pray and make it seem like
what I did was acceptable, but it did not work. This experience goes hand in hand
with the quote because even I tried to pray and utter God s name but God wouldn t
help because I did something unjust and I was dishonest. Therefore, I started to feel
guilt rise up inside my body. This paragraph explains how an experience of my own

Characteristics Of The Anzac Legend
Australians fought in many wars, but the most successful war was thought to be the
war to end all wars (World War One). The Anzacs had experienced many hardships in
this horrific war; special qualities were developed throughout the war such as
endurance, mateship and courage. On the 25th of April the birth of the Anzac legend
had risen. As they charged into enemy territories, in the early morning of the 1900s,
they were destined to succeed despite the raining gun fire by the Turkish soldiers.
Mateship, courage and endurance gradually strengthened deeper into the war; as a
result, no one could take away these three imperishable qualities. Many historical
records show many different perspectives about the Anzac legend. As a nation, we
look upon three main attributes that the Anzacs had demonstrated courage, mateship
and endurance. Therefore, the Anzac legacy continues to prosper in its purpose to
motivate the modern Australian society. As the war progressed, Australian troops
made trenches; this protected them from gunfire. On the other hand diseases were
introduced such as the trench foot. Having a trench foot was painful, swollen
conditions caused by feet remaining wet for too long; if gangrene (progress) set in,
the feet would have to be amputated (Darlington, 2012). This shows determination,
which the Anzac possessed regardless of the dangers that may happen. These hard
conditions that the Anzacs had faced are also reflected in an extract from Eric

While Verse Ninety-Four Underscores The All-Consuming
Power
While verse ninety four underscores the all consuming power of Кїishq, these two
verses assert that one who attains the Lord and relishes the supremely sweet and
gratifying taste of the ambrosia of Divine Love, experiences a sublime sense of
fulfilment that only he can comprehend, as he succumbs to the overwhelming influx
of love, which liberates him from all wants and desires, except the yearning for even
more downpour of Divine Love.
The word ras has a wide range of meanings, including delight , sentiment , love , taste
, flavour , nectar , elixir . Prem or love, in the context of verse ninety five, refers to
Divine love, therefore prem ras means, nectar of love , elixir of love , essence of love

In other words, prem ras or hari ras is a personal and intimate spiritual experience
realized by the КїДЃshiq or lover in a state of blissful communion with the
MaКїshЕ«q or the Beloved. In this state, there is an abundant and incessant
outpouring of Divine Love and the lover finds himself submerged within this all
embracing ocean of Divine Love. Like an unborn baby safely encompassed in the
mother s womb, the lover finds himself enwrapped within the womb of Divine
Love, as he tastes the nectar of love and feels this real love in the innermost
recesses of his personality. In this state of spiritual intimacy with the Beloved, a
state of fusion in love, duality and separation cease, as do time and space, reason
and logic melt away as do ego and illusion. The lover and the Beloved become one
in Love. In this state, the Divine is Love, the lover is Love, and Love is Divine.
There is but one reality the all encompassing love, unadulterated, pure, unconditional
and true love the likeness of which does not and cannot exist in the physical realm
and therefore cannot be realized even in the most intimate of physical experiences.
This is prem ras the nectar of Divine Love, indeed, this is hari ras the Divine Elixir in
the form of Divine Love!
Firm in his conviction and content of this blissful experience, the lover does not

different sialic acid binding lectins.
Absract:
The cell membrane of two strains of Psuedomonas aeruginosa, P22 and P201 were
treated the sialic acid lectins SNA I, WGA, MAL and HAA to confirm the presence
of sialic acid carbohydrates in the cell surface membranes of these strains. This was
done by using two sets of samples one treated with trypsin and the other without. The
sample treated with trypsin showed agglutination for all lectins while the untreated
sample showed little to no agglutination. A control was also used with the cells...

Questions:
1.It is important to study sialic acid binding lectins because their glyco conjugates on
the cell membrane of microorganisms are usually associated with virulence factors
that cause disease eg. Streptococcus suis which has a high sialic acid content on its
cell membrane causes infections in pigs and humans resulting in cases of meningitis
and endocartis. Sialic acid is also associated with P. aeruginosa and the virulence it
normally induces. Other lectins that are also of importance in microbiology and/or
cell biology are mannose binding lectins which are also associated with virulence.
2.The agglutination is based on binding of the sialic acid to the cell membrane. To
confirm that sialic acid carbohyrates are responsible for the binding the cells can be
stripped of sialic acid and the experiment repeated.
The cells are treated with sialidase from C. Perfringens to remove sialic acid
carbohydrates from the cell surface membrane.
Cell are given a 6 hour growth period
Cells are then centrifuged and re suspended in sialidase and buffer and incubated to
remove any sialic acid carbohydrates.
Cells are then washed in PBS
New Zealand s Water Quality
Fresh water is a diverse issue due to its implications on aquatic life, drinking water
supplies, cultural views and water based recreation. It is a political object in the
way it can be regulated at a local and national scale. This essay is going to focus on
New Zealand s water quality, as an issue, through the use of Michel Foucaults
theories. Foucault s major influences in theory focus on the struggle of power
relations.
I have previously reviewed three papers by Foucault, and will use the key points I
found in these readings to look at water quality. The alternatives to the prison
found that power gets to define what the truth is, and this makes truth a social
category (Foucault, 2009). This is related to the function of the state who defines
what is allowed and what is not. The state can be seen to use illegalities that benefit
them and therefore make them legal. It also looks at the use of surveillance to
control people s actions. The crisis of medicine or anti medicine looks at the control
of medicine (Foucault, 2004). It was used by the state to control the health of people,
as they thought a healthy population equalled a stronger, more threatening
population. This again looks at the power of the state over people. The third reading,
spaces of security, looks at the implications of trying to plan for the future, and how it
is near impossible to plan for every possible situation (Foucault Knowlton King,
2007). (Jan) Wright, J. (2012), the Parliamentary
The Kmer Rouge Genocide
History always repeats itself. From world wars to economic slumps and even
genocides, there is always evil and corruption present where the goal is to obtain
power. In order to claim power, evil must oppress the innocent, even if the innocent
attempts to break loose, evil continues to push down. An example of evil s oppression
is the genocide that occurred in the 1970 s. A communist group known as the Khmer
Rougeinvaded Cambodiato transform its society into a communist agrarian society
(Cambodian Genocide). The Khmer Rouge believed that all Cambodians must
work as one huge federation of collective farmers. Anyone who opposed this was
killed. If anyone questioned what the Khmer Rouge was doing, didn t work or
showed any emotion, they were killed. The Khmer Rouge wanted equality among
the people. The Khmer Rouge also questioned its own members, and frequently
executed members for suspicions of treason. Survival in Cambodia was
determined by one s ability to work. Therefore, Cambodia s elderly, handicapped,
ill, and children suffered. If someone wore glasses, they were considered an
intellectual who would cause trouble and therefore was killed. If they had a watch,
they were considered wealthy and killed (McCormick). Before that in 1934, a rival
to Stalin, Sergey Kirov, was murdered. Stalin was accused of being behind the
assassination, and he used this as an excuse to arrest thousands of people. Who, in
his words, could have been responsible for Kirov s murder
The Government s Energy Star Program
EFFICIENT WASHING MACHINES
INTRODUCTION
The federal government s energy star program was established in 1992 by the
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This program is voluntary and started in
order to save businesses and families save money. This program has many companies
investing in energy efficient projects to help boost the market. While promoting these
products, the energy star program also helps to reduce energy consumption and
pollution. Along with saving energy, it helps to reduce greenhouse gases. Reducing
the greenhouse gases contributes to the health of individuals and the environment
surrounding them. This will hopefully control the climate changes brought on by the
emission of such gases and strengthen our economy (Energy Star, 2014).
BODY
High efficiency washing machines help families cut energy and water costs
(Energy Star, 2014). These machines are front or top loading with a larger tub
capacity. Families are able to wash fewer loads which enables them to use less
water. Companies continue working on their models to save more money. Washers
made after 2003 are more efficient. If your washer is more than ten years old, you
should look into purchasing a newer model (Energy Star, 2014). Washing machines
did not earn the Energy Star label until 1997 (Mother Earth News, 2010). When
comparing the how much energy the models use, you need to look at the yellow
EnergyGuide label. This tells you how much energy each load of laundry uses and the
A Research On The Juvenile Detention Centers
In today s world, Delinquents are not one of the hot topics you see on the news
every day on the nightly news. However, after doing a little research on the
juvenile detention centers, one might think that they should be on the news every
night until something is fixed. In some cases, jail guards have been caught beating
and assaulting children in jail so badly that they have broken bones and scarred
them for life. There have also been studies proving that counseling children provide
a better chance for engaging with the public. Many children who have participated
in some type of counseling have turned out a lot better than those who have not
participated in counseling. I now agree that for the most part, children should not
be locked up and they should instead be taken to treatment facilities, talk to
counselors, and helped on their journey to become adults. When a young kid gets
themselves into trouble, what happens to them? Before taking this class and
writing this paper I wasn t sure. There are a few different routes that a juvenile
delinquent could take. Once juveniles are sent into jail or a detention center it is
even possible that their behavior can get worse as time goes on. Based on my
research about the topic and what Nell Bernstein talked about in her book, it is in the
best interest of the juvenile to not be confined in a jail cell but in fact given treatment
or counseling for their actions. Instead of locking youth delinquents up, it is proven
that
Benefits Of The Gilded Age
The late nineteenth century was a turning point for American society, economics
and politics. This era was an era of seeming prosperity and diversity. Nonetheless,
there were many perspectives that were omitted from this prosperous and wealthy
view shared among the few. As a result, the late 1800s was known as the Gilded
Age, named by Mark Twain as an allusion to the concept of something that is
seemingly pleasantly plated with gold on the outside, but rotten to the core. This
Gilded Age, in essence, was a period of rapid growth of industry in the American
North and West. This industrialization brought many benefits, however, along with
the benefits for the select few, it also saw heavier persecution and exploitation against
those who were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were acts passed during the Gilded Age that promoted Westward expansion,
and, as a result, allowed for businesses to rise to prominence. The Morrill Grants,
notably in 1890, established many agricultural and vocational colleges in the United
States to promote more industry supplemented with an educated workforce to grow
in the sparsely populated West. (Westward expansion.) The Homestead Act also was
a source of motivation for many aspiring wealth seekers to settle West. (Homestead
Act.) The settlement of the West allowed for the rise of the railroad industry, both
private and government operated, which was one of the stepping stones in the steep
quest for industry. Railroads allowed for easy access and shipment of raw materials
from one edge of the country to another. Also in support of Westward Expansion was
Frederick Jackson Turner, who promoted Westward settlement in his Frontier Thesis.
In this thesis, he claims that the West is America s ultimate frontier, and stressed the
process of settling the frontier. (Turner Thesis.) Westward expansion and the
settlement of the frontier saw the rise of the railroad industry and American business,
and also allowed for certain entrepreneurs throughout the country to take advantage of
their opportunity, despite causing harm to many small businesses that were practicing
fair business methods. (Ida

The Government s Freedom Of Press
Since the Turkish state was founded by Mustafa Kemal AtatГјrk in 1923, the press in
Turkey has never been free. The first government was ruled by the AtatГјrk s party,
the Republican People s Party (CHP), which claimed to be liberal and modernist;
however, they made a law which could shut down and /or censor any newspapers
which they did not like. (Bulut, 2015). During the CHP era, 130 newspapers and
magazines were banned. Although many parties names have changed throughout the
years, the ruling ideology has been the same. For instance, during the rule of Prime
Minister Adnan Menderes(1950 1960, Democrat Party), 161 newspapers were
banned (YД±lmaz, Doganer, 2007). Unfortunately, today s freedom of press in
Turkey has further worsened. At the end of 2011, 110,000 websites were shut down
by the AKP governments attempts. (Depeli, 2012). Many journalists were arrested,
tortured and imprisoned. Most of the cases were associated with terrorism.
According to the BIA Media Monitoring Reports, 104 journalists and 30 distributors
were imprisoned in 2012. Also 64 of the journalists were Kurdish as well as almost
all distributors. (Depeli, 20112).
When AtatГјrk founded the Republic of Turkey, his ideology was to westernize the
country through changing the education and political systems. Even though the
majority of the population of Turkey supported the Kemalist (AtatГјrkist) ideology
today and his modern world view , they never acknowledge some of the genocides

Okonkwo s Religion
Okonkwo chooses to take his own life because he realizes that the Christian church
has taken over Umuofia and he doesn t want to live in a world with anything
different than his tribe and their customs and what he s used to. When the church
comes in with all their beliefs that are different from Okonkwo s village, this upsets
him, and then there is a chain of events that lead to him hanging himself. It all starts
when Okonkwois exiled for seven years because he accidentally killed someone.
While he is staying in his mother s native village people from his home come to tell
him stories about how the church is taking over. Okonkwo gets very frustrated that
he can t be with his tribe to help stop the church from gaining power and followers.

Finally, The Dark Side of the Moon and OK Computer discuss many topics which
might be considered to be controversial among mainstream media but it is for this
exact reasoning that made them stand out so greatly among all the other forms of
music. While most musicians talk about romance or break ups, Pink Floyd and
Radiohead bring up topics that make you ponder existence itself. What makes these
two albums so influential is that because of their boldness to break all boundaries
within music, it has inspired other musicians to do the same. These uniqueness of
these albums stands out so strongly that they have quite literally created genres
within themselves.
While both albums main theme is about the struggles of life, The Dark Side of the
Moon takes a more objective and spiritual approach while OK Computer takes a
more subjective and societarian approach. Both albums tell a story but The Dark
Side of the Moon tells it s story from a more third person perspective while OK
Computer tells it s story from a more first person perspective. The biggest
difference however, is how The Dark Side of the Moon gives the listener a solution

Two Types Of Solar Eclipses In Greek History
An eclipse is an astronomical event that happens when a celestial object such as a
moon or a planet moves into the shadow of another celestial body and there are two
types of the eclipse on Earth named solar eclipse and lunar eclipse. A solar eclipse
happens when the moon s shadow falls somewhere on the surface of the earthand a
lunar eclipse is the opposite of solar eclipsewhich happens when the earth s shadow
falls on the moon. There are two sections of the shadow, the dark umbra, and the
partially shaded penumbra, their placement determines the type of eclipse that can
be seen on earth though placement sun.According to Greek history, the person
who predicted the first eclipse was a Greek mathematician, Thales of Miletus. On
May 28, 585 BC, the Lydians, and Medes were engaged in fierce fighting and this
was the six year of war between them. Each was from a different side of Anatolia
which is modern day Turkey. As the battle stretched on into the evening, both
armies were surprised to see the Sun suddenly darkening and they believed that it
was a message from the gods that they were displeased by the strife. But the
Lydians and Medes laid down their arms. They swore to end the long war and
solidified the peace by giving a Lydian princess to marry the king of the Medes.
This is one of the earliest events in recorded history to which we can set an exact
date as we can calculate when that eclipse took place. The eclipses are valuable to
the historian as they give us an event that we can use to correctly date ancient
chronologies. Ancient historians recorded that his eclipse that stopped the war was
actually predicted by Thales. Through thousands of year, patiently watching the
movements of the Sun and Moon in the sky, ancient astronomers realized eclipses
happen when the moon passed directly in front of the Sun. For the solar eclipse to
work though, of course, the moon has to be big enough to block out the sun. In
reality, the moon is 400 times smaller than the Sun but in a fantastic cosmic.
However, from our point of view, the moon is almost exactly the same size as the
sun in the sky and this means it will line up and it will completely block the disc of
the sun. If the moon is the smaller or any further
The Is Representative Of A. Y Gasset s The
Dehumanization...
1) Oliverio Girondo s poetry is representative of a new style of art encompassed in
JosГ© Ortega y Gasset s The Dehumanization of Art. Aesthetics no longer conform
to the traditional classical style but instead, champions a futurist type meant to
bypass the limitations of rationale in a trivial and playful nature likened to sport.
Girondo clearly breaks from the platonic ideals of beauty and delves into the
aesthetics of the grotesque by using antipoetic language, which sublimes the
abject. This is made obvious early in Scarecrow other anomalies as he writes that
he couldn t care less if women have breasts like fresh magnolias or withered figs,
skin smooth as a peach or rough as sand paper. [...] breath of an aphrodisiac or the
breath of an insecticide. (Girondo 7). Girondo often uses ludic and vulgar
language and has a clear objective of relegating humans to beasts or objects, for
example, he describes May a spider s foot sprout from each of your pores, [...] may
all the inhabitants of the city mistake you for a urinal. [...] May your family amuse
itself deforming your bone structure, so that mirrors, looking at you, commit suicide
out of sheer repugnance (Girondo 75). Girondo s scarecrow calligram illustrates the
new style of art masterfully as he creates an extended metaphor to ridicule bourgeois
ideals, literarily from head to toe intended to scare bourgeois aesthetics, instead of
accustomed crows. Girondo ultimately describes that a book should be put together

Strategic Family Therapy Case
The Strategic Family Therapy Center is a family based intervention and its target is
to understand problems through interactions and behaviors in each client family.
According to Haley Jay this therapy is very practical because it is a therapy where the
therapist initiates what happens during therapy, designs a specific approach for each
person s presenting problem, and where the therapist takes responsibility for directly
influencing people. (www.mri.org/strategic_family_therapy.html). In other word, the
therapist has the authority to direct the clients in the direction he finds best in order
to bring necessary changes in that specific system.
The therapy is identified as being brief and seeks to observe family interactions,
looking at the system and, the goal is to get every family member to take part in the
session and to highlight the specific issue that need to be addressed. In out case
study, the mother, and the couple should take part in the therapy, because they are all
part of the conflict. In this way the therapist, the couple, and the mother can work
together to come out with goals to define the parameters and fix the problem. ... Show

There is no need to see great changes happening in the behavior, patterns or the
structure in order for the family to actually make positive steps. According to this

The Undisputed Overlords Of The World Wide Web
Since I often find myself paralysed in thought, I decided it would be better to hurl
these ramblings out into the maelstrom of the internet than retain them within my
own head. Then, like a warped father figure, I could watch them struggle to survive,
stumbling on thin, wavering legs, before falling underneath the onslaught of
memes and photoshopped cat pictures, the undisputed overlords of the world wide
web. I presume everyone has those days where instead of actually moving from
their bed, or their room, or even in some cases their own mind, they instead
wonder about the nature of reality and the world around us. I find myself doing
this around 90% of the time, and so I d expect that if I was thinking anything
useful I would long ago have uncovered the truth of the life, unfurled the fabric of
reality, and would long since have escaped this paltry existence to spend my eternal
life sprawled between this universe and the next watching all of you foolish mortals
struggle to survive. Unfortunately this hasn t happened, and I m beginning to
suspect it never will. Instead, I thought I d trick you all into reading my pointless
drivel, and if this has now turned you off the idea, then haha! the joke s on you,

For the light a scene assignment it was decided to recreate the lighting from a scene
in Paul Thomas Anderson s: The Master . The infamous No Blinking scene focuses
on the processing of Freddy Quell (Joaquin Phoenix) by The Master (Phillip Seymour

appear as simple yet extremely effective in creating a ominous atmosphere throughout
the scene.
The No Blinking scene is extremely similar to an interrogation and this is refelcted in

The allure of the scene was that the lighting in the scene placed strong emphasis on
the face yet it was so heavily contrasted against the background of the scene.
However, recreating the lighing did prove to be more challanging than expected.
A single LED light was placed to the subjects side but it was noticed that only one
side of the fact was lit, while the other side was in complete shadows. Compared to
the refrence scene it was noticed that while the actor did have one side that was in
shade, there is a slight hitting the side of the nose and cheenk. While a fill light
was considered, it was ultimately decided to use a bouncer to relect the existing
LED light to the side of the face. As the results from the use of a bouncer created a
visually striking light on the subject, it was also deciced to incoporate the use of a
second bouncer (See Fig 5 8). With this one, the LED light was faced the opposite
direction to the subject onto a bouncer, which relfected the light back onto the
subject (See Fig 9). Ulimately, with the use of a single LED light and two bouncers,
the No Blinking scene from Paul Thomas Andersons The Master was able to be

Themes Of Feminism In Harriet The Spy
It is often questioned whether tween literature is too mature for its targeted age
group. With themes of murder, sexual abuse, neglect, and other forms of violence,
both physical and psychological, there seems to be one topic that is slightly more
prevalent when speaking about tween literature. Tween literature and culture is often
marketed towards young girls and their parents, because of this, it becomes easy to
talk about themes of feminismin tween literature. More specifically, due to the time
period in which tween culture became mainstream, postfeminism is a topic that is
often heavily discussed around tween literature. Both Gail Levine s novel, Ella
Enchanted, as well as Louise Fitzhughs novel Harriet the Spy, can both be analyzed
using a postfeminist lense. By using a postfeminist lense in analyzing these books,
the issues of postfeminism become apparent when addressing issues such as a false
sense of choice for young girls, an idea that they must be ashamed for who they are
and the views that they hold. It is further complicated when it becomes apparent that
due to postfeminist ideology, women, and specifically young girls have lost the
ability to articulate sexism when it affects them. Through these points of contention
regarding postfeminism, it becomes aparent that society is not quite ready to hold
postfeminist views, since there is still an imbalance of power that women face on a
day to day basis. It is important to have a baseline understanding of what
Benefits Of Reflection On Healthcare
2.4 Benefits of Reflection in Healthcare
For the practitioner, the benefits of reflection includes the identification of learning
needs, continual development in practice, the ability to provide evidence based care
and the elimination of routine practice (Jasper et al. 2011 and Bulman 2013).
Furthermore, as part of the NMC (2015) code of professional standard and a
significant component of the revalidation process, reflective nurses do not only fulfil
the regulatory requirements, but to some extent, safeguard the success of their
revalidation process.
As a result of the practitioner s development and use of reflection, patients benefit by
receiving better quality of individualised care, evidence based practice from their
specific needs and better standards of patient safety including a reduction in the
number of adverse incidents (Jasper et al. 2011). This essentially represents the use
and respect of the Code in practice (NMC 2015).
Also, the affirmation of best practice, considered by Driscoll (2007) to be one of
the benefits of reflection, results in a higher standard in quality of care and a good
reputation for professional practice (Jasper et al. 2011). This brings significant
benefits to both the NHS as an employer and the nursing profession.
2.5 Limitations to Reflection
Irrespective of the importance and benefits of reflection, Johns (2013), (inspired by
Fay s (1987) identification of commitment as a prerequisite to reflection), used

Effect Of Peer Pressure On Youth Essay
Youth today face many challenges throughout their early years. The face them not
only at school but also at home. Some kids are stronger than others and can candle
the added stress, while others collapse under the pressure. The added stress can come
from many factors, but three common causes are peer pressure, academics, and
sports. Growing up in a cruel world is not easy on anyone, but it is extra hard for
the young kids today. They face many challenges trying to find a spot where they
belong. Not all kids are born leaders, so they tend to follow. Therefore, followers
tend to be the ones who struggle with the peer pressure the most. They wantto fit in or
belong to a certain group and will do exactly what others want them to do to get
there. Peer pressure is the beginning to the end sometimes. It opens the door to
other things, such as drinking or even fighting. Both drinking and fighting come
with consequences that adds to the stress. People can influence you at school,
home, and even work. Peer pressure is not always negative, but depends on the
crowd they choose to hang with. Both positive and negative peer pressure is a lot
on youth and can cause stress that leads to other things later in life. As a result of
peer pressure, they often let their academics fall short of the goals and expectations
that they once had. While attending school, young kids are expected to keep a
certain grade point average in order to pass. Some kids are born book smart,

Do Antidepressants Work
Antidepressants.
By Dr Vasilios Silivistris DipSup DipComp BA MA FRSH MBACP PhD
Antidepressants are a type of medication used to treat depression or prevent it
recurring.
In addition, they are used to treat a number of other conditions including;
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD),
Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD),
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
How do antidepressants work?
The belief is that antidepressants work by increasing levels of a group of chemicals in
the brain called neurotransmitters. Certain neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and
noradrenaline, can improve mood and emotion, although we do not yet fully
understand this process
While antidepressants can help treat the symptoms of depression, they do not always

SSRIs are the most widely prescribed type of antidepressants.
They are usually preferred over other antidepressants as they cause fewer side effects.
Fluoxetine is probably the best known SSRI (Prozac).
Other SSRIs include citalopram (Cipramil), paroxetine (Seroxat), and sertraline
(Lustral).
Serotonin Noradrenaline Reuptake Inhibitors (SNRIs).
SNRIs are similar to SSRIs. Originally, they were supposed to be a more effective
antidepressant than SSRIs. However, the evidence that SNRIs are more effective in
treating depression is uncertain. It seems some people respond better to SSRIs while
others respond better to SNRIs.
Examples of SNRIs include; duloxetine (Cymbalta/Yentreve) and venlafaxine
(Efexor).
Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCAs).
Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) are an older type of antidepressant. Doctors rarely
prescribe these as a first line treatment for depression as they can be more dangerous
if an overdose occurs. They also cause more unpleasant side effects than SSRIs and
SNRIs.
Examples of TCAs include amitriptyline (Tryptizol), clomipramine (Anafranil),
imipramine (Tofranil), lofepramine (Gamanil) and nortriptyline (Allegron).

that she starts to like him but there is never any signs that she loves him. Even
though they are deep in their culture, Sumita and Somesh

One of the parts of Guyhood , as Barry calls it, is that pondering one s deep
innermost feelings is not something guys spend much time doing. Other than an
extreme loyalty to a sports team, or a fear of bridal showers, there is the question
of where or not guys actually have deep innermost feelings. Guys can spend an

this is not possible, Barry says that, for guys, it really is. A lot of guys don t use

Operation Of Health Care System
OPERATION OF HEALTH CARE SYSTEM
The medical system in Cuba is a national priority, it provides care to every citizens.
It is primary care based, which means that team of doctors and nurses are in every
part of the country and are responsible for the health of a geographically defined
population of 800 1800 people. Most of the frequent visitors and people with
chronic diseases, usually they spent half the day consulting people in office and
other half for the home visit. They are expected to be available for the patients in
their community 24 7 for any urgent cases. Some of the doctors in these settings are
residents in the second of their two year FM residency, and they include those from
other countries whose governments permit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Health care system is structured on two levels.
Level 1: Primary health care
Family doctor unit
Polyclinics (includes dental care)
Specialty institution
Mother s home
Grandparents home
Community mental health clinic
Level 2: Secondary health care
Inpatient hospital
Inpatient nursing homecare
One of the key differences between the US health system and Cuba health system is
that Cuba focuses on preventing diseases rather than treating the diseases. And
everyone will be having family physician and nurses. For the Cuba health system
there are no private hospitals, all hospitals and clinics are controlled by the
government and people are given access to the system without any cost. Every
patient are visited by the family physician at home once in a year, one with chronic
disease will be visited frequently. If it is necessary patients are referred for specialty
evaluation, but after the evaluation they will come back to the community team for
ongoing treatment.
This prevention orientation structure has produced positive result for the Cuba.
Vaccination rates in Cuba is the highest in world. The infant mortality rate fallen
from 80 per 1000 live births to 5 per 1000, lower than US.
PRINCIPLE OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM
The principle that govern the public health system in Cuba are:
The public and social nature of the medicine
Access to services at no cost

Graphic Design And Art And Design
Often times a painting has the same structure as a design. The details can be
similar for both Graphic Design and Fine Art. Paintings such as Son of Man by
Magritte which has basics such as shadow, highlight, simple composition, and a
dull color palette. A design for Apple Laptops was created of a decal of Son of
Man. This design also had shadow, light, basic composition, and an achromatic
color palette. The structure is the same, but one is created digitally and one is a
painting. The processes can also be very similar. Many artists use technology in
their artwork. They use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, programs for
designers and use it to create their artwork. Artists such as Jeff Koons who
manipulates images on Photoshop, prints it and paints hyper realistic paintings
from those images. The structure and process for art and design can be very
similar. Can an artist be a designer or vise versa? One argument that critics make is
that artists are just artists or that a designer is not an artist. However there are
countless artists who are designers and vise versa. One famous designer would be
Eva Zeisel. Eva Zeisel is famous for creating a body of dinner sets which she
created after she was released in Russia. While imprisoned, Zeisel found inspiration
in the curves of her own body claiming it was the only art she had. Afterwards she
created useful art which was her groundbreaking design of minimalist dinnerware,

Munich Massacre Essay
Committee X Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir give a speech in the following
days of the Munich massacre to the Israeli parliament, where she made an emotional
claim about finding every person who was involve with the attack. The Israeli
government was so in shock about the attack, in response they wanted something
more direct then indirect because, it was more personal to them. Prime Minister
Meir and an Israeli cabinet members created a top secret committee called
Committee X , a covert counterterrorist campaign in response for the killing of the
Israeli athletes and people related to Palestinian terrorism. One of the members of this
committee was General Aharon Yariv, Golda Meir s Counter terrorist advisor who

Chinua Crude Prices And Its Implications On India
FALL IN CRUDE PRICES ITS IMPLICATIONS ON INDIA
Introduction:
The presence of crude oil was first discovered in China way back in 3rd or 4th
century A.D. The presence of oil in India was discovered in late 1889 at Digboi in
Assam where the first crude oil refinery was set up in 1901. India is not among the
major oil producers and that is why it generally depends on imports from other
countries. The largest crude oil producing country is Saudi Arabia followed by
Russia and America. The extent of the commodity s importance was shown to the
world when the world s strongest economies were shaken up as the oil prices shot
up in 1973 and 1979, after this the whole oil sector was nationalized in India.
Currently, crude oil alone is responsible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the main reasons is the mismatch between the demand and supply of oil.
Due to sluggish pace of global economies, the demand has been reducing. The
other more important reason is tremendous increase in production levels by the oil
extraction using Shale Gas formations in wells of Texas and North Dakota. When
the oil prices were at $110 115/barrel, they drilled oil from shale gas formations
which was earlier considered unviable due to low profit margins. This drilling has
resulted into a supply glut which is further helped by Saudi Arabia and OPEC who are
reluctant to decrease production. Source: www.wtrg.com
It is said that OPEC as a cartel has been unfruitful is maintaining the price levels.
Some say that OPEC and Saudi Arabia are purposely not relenting to reduce the
production as oil production from Shale Gas formations is much more expensive
than oil production at Saudi Arabia (~$5 6/barrel) which is the lowest in the world.
OPEC and Saudi Arabia hope to wipe out the Shale Gas producers by the continued
fall of crude oil price levels to less than $50/barrel after which it is believed that it
would be unviable for the Shale Gas producers to continue.
Impact of the fall for India Crude Oil prices affect the life of the average human
being in India in multiple ways from food prices to transport costs. It would seem
that falling crude oil prices is great news which couldn t
Testing the Strength of Plant Fibers Essay
Title: Testing the strength of plant fibers
Objectives: To develop knowledge and understanding of the strength of plant fiber in
a plant stem. To develop problem solving and experimental skills, for example,
information is accurately processed, using calculations where appropriate,
experimental procedures are planned, designed and evaluated properly, the use of
microscopes, producing valid results and recording results. To develop techniques of
measuring the size of plant fibers under microscope using stage micrometer and
eyepiece graticule.

Mature sclerenchyma cells are dead and have thickened secondary cell walls
impregnated with lignin. It is elastic. The cell cavity or lumen is very small or
may disappear completely. There are two types of sclerenchyma cells. They are
sclereids and fibres. Sclereid cells are irregular in shape, thick, hard, and lignified.
Sclereids are commonly found in fruit and seeds. Fibres have tapering ends, thick
walls and rather small lumen. Secondary cell wall impregnated with lignin are also
present. Simple pits are also present. It is abundant in vascular tissue of angiosperm
such as flowering plants. Sclerenchyma is important in supporting tissues in plants.
Sclereids account for the hardness in seeds of the plant. Fibre plays a role in
transporting water in the plants.
Xylem is located in the middle section of the of a plant stem. It can be found close
with other transport tissues in plants such as phloem which transports sugars and
amino acids in the plant. In non woody plants, xylem forms bundle with phloem in
order words the vascular bundles. Xylem is thickened with deposits of lignin that
provides mechanical support in plants. Protoxylem(primary xylem) can be grown into
metaxylem(secondary xylem) by secondary growth in the actively dividing vascular
cambium. It is found in vascular plants which is responsible
The Effects Of Alcohol On The Consumption Of Alcohol
There are a multitude of aspects to consider as to why an individual would be
dependent on the consumption of alcohol. One being the living environment of an
individual has an effect on alcohol abuse according to the studies found, McCaul et
al (2009) talks about this theme and goes on to say that the more licensed alcohol
establishment s in one particular area means it s more likely for someone to drink
on a regular basis as it s not out of their way. Another reason may be the individual s
emotional state can have an impact on how much they drink, according to Callanan
et al. (2009) people consume alcohol as a way of coping with emotional factors such
as stress and depression. Economic factors may be an underlying cause of alcohol
abuse. Callanan et al (2009) found that the monotony of unemployment presents its
self as an opportunity to consume alcohol which may become habitual.
There are many negative psycho, social and economic factors that may affect an
individual abusing alcohol. St. John et al (2009) said that anyone living in a more
deprived area neighbourhoods are more likely to abuse alcohol which may be
down to boredom as more people in deprived areas abuse alcohol as a way of
freedom from the real world for a short period of time. Economic factors may be an
underlying cause of alcohol abuse. Callanan et al (2009) found that the monotony of
unemployment presents its self as an opportunity to consume alcohol which may
become habitual. Lee et al (2009) states that
Bilateral Symmetry In Animals
Introduction and Literature Review
Animals have different types of body symmetry. The types of symmetry are
asymmetry, radial symmetry, bilateral symmetry and biradial symmetry. In bilateral
symmetry, a single imaginary plane divides the body into left and right sides, which
are similar. Many types of animals have bilateral symmetry and addition, possesses
dorsal, ventral, anterior, and posterior segments on each of their left and right sides.
Flatworms have bilateral symmetry and bilateral symmetry is more associated with
increasing the mobility (De Lange, et al., 2016). Thus, we can conclude that bilateral
symmetry is important in balance distribution of parts that are duplicated in the body
and in the evolution of animals. For example, sponges do not have body symmetry;
they are asymmetric. Presence of symmetry helps better for body plans in most
multi cellular organisms. Most of the plants and animals of same species show the
same structural orientation. There are different types of symmetry like radial
symmetry, bilateral symmetry, and biradial symmetry and it varies from one species
to another. There are different genes which are involved in assigning proper
symmetry to the animal or plant species and it is important in the evolution of
animals. For example, sponges do not have body symmetry; they are asymmetric.
Radial symmetry is exhibited by cnidarians and ctenophores, but tapeworms and
flukes exhibit bilateral symmetry (Dzik et al., 2017).
Symmetry in plants and
Implementing Multi Tiered Systems Of Support A Part Of
Our...
MTSS Update: Our district is well along the path to making Multi Tiered Systems
of Support a part of our normal routine. We are in our 6th year for reading and
starting our third year of working on behavior. We will be continuing to work on
both of those areas and rolling in math this year. All buildings have completed our
first reading screener of the year and are busy doing further diagnostic testing of
students who are not at benchmark. Some small groups have already started to
address the specific needs of each student. These small groups change throughout the
year based on the students needs. The goal is that students will master the grade level
skills and exit the intervention group.
MTSS, where are we and where are we going?
Reading has became just part of how we do business and the results are starting to
show great gains. Last year the K 5 schools implemented a new core curriculum.
There is continued work in refining the tiered process, and aligning interventions
with students specific needs. AMS has added the use of the Scholastic Reading
Inventory screener and is also working with Rachel Loersch, a literacy expert, to
refine tier two work. 6 12 English Language Arts staff will be considering new
curriculum materials for the 2016 17 school year to align with the Kansas College
Career Ready Standards. We are continuing to offer Language Essentials for Teachers
of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) training throughout the year and will adding a

Use of Airplanes in WW1
The First World War was monumental in history because of all the new technology
that was introduced. One particular area that developed during the Great War was the
use of airplanes by the German and Allied militaries. In comparison, they both had
different mentalities towards an invention that was only made successful less than a
decade before the outbreak of war in 1914 by the Wright Brothers in North Carolina,
United States. The German Military welcomed the idea with open arms, investing in
its potential for military uses, whereas the Allies remained reserved and hesitant,
claiming that aircraft could not be used for anything more offensive than
reconnaissance missions. These differences in opinions later affected the
development of each air force. The German military kept making monthly
improvements to their equipment whereas the allied pilots were slow in their
respective air forces evolution. However, there was a common progression that both
militaries had which was the slow phasing out of the cavalry on either side due to the
effectiveness of the aircrafts reconnaissance capabilities. During the World War One,
the German military took advantage of the new technology available to them, which
gave significant results, whereas the Allies had a more traditional mindset for the
beginning of the conflict. The Central powers have usually accepted new technology
within their history without much opposition. One example of this fact is based on
the preparedness of the German

Essay For Summer.pdf

  • 1. Essay For Summer Crafting an essay on the theme "Essay For Summer" may initially seem like a delightful task, brimming with memories of sun-soaked days, leisurely vacations, and the warmth of the season. However, delving into the intricacies of this seemingly carefree subject unveils a challenge that requires a delicate balance between nostalgia and analytical thought. The difficulty arises from the vastness of the summer experience itself. Attempting to encapsulate the essence of summer in a limited number of words demands a careful selection of events, emotions, and sensory details. From the languid afternoons spent by the pool to the thrill of spontaneous road trips, each aspect of summer carries its unique weight, making it challenging to strike the right chord without sacrificing depth. Furthermore, avoiding clichГ©s becomes a paramount concern. Summer often evokes stereotypical images of beach scenes, ice creams, and sunsets. Crafting an essay that stands out necessitates steering clear of the overused tropes while delving into personal experiences and reflections. This requires a heightened level of creativity and an ability to see beyond the surface of common summer activities. The temporal nature of summer adds another layer of complexity. Capturing the ephemeral beauty of the season, where joy and warmth seem to dance on the edge of time, requires a nuanced approach to language. Expressing the transient nature of summer without succumbing to sentimentality or clichГ©d expressions is a tightrope walk that demands a keen understanding of the nuances of language. Moreover, the challenge lies in creating a narrative that resonates universally. While personal experiences provide authenticity, weaving a story that connects with a diverse audience necessitates a thoughtful exploration of themes that transcend individual anecdotes. This requires a delicate blend of introspection and empathy to create an essay that not only reflects the author's experiences but also resonates with readers from various backgrounds. • 2. Nurturing Donor Analysis Nurturing Donors Organizations must view their potential donors as people instead of a potential donation. Organizations must effectively and efficiently collect and organize data about each potential donor in order to tailor strategies and techniques that encourage and persuade the individual to support their cause (Weinstein, 2013, p. 110). Organizations must listen carefully to the desires of the potential donor and use this information to create an appeal for support. Once this information is collected it should be documented using fundraising software or an Excel spreadsheet (Weinstein, 2013, p. 73). Although data collection and organizational systems are great, they are useless if the organization does not use the information to request support from unique donors (Weinstein, 2013, p. 111). Merion Veenom Soccer Tribe Analysis Tribe, described by the dictionary as, Any aggregate of people united by ties of descent from a common ancestor, community of customs and traditions , can cause many people to often tumble into disagreement with one another over the meaning of this word. Arguments have lead people to believe that the word triberefers to a group of people that are primitive and savage, but Archeologists have cleaned up the meaning. Archaeologists define the word tribe as, A political group that comprises several bands or lineage groups, each with similar language and lifestyle and each occupying a distinct territory (Keim, pg. 114). The team itself believes that they always need to be focused and always need to show up with intensity whether they have a practice or a game. The Venom, were a newly created soccer team in 2014 by coach Steve Baron. They understand their world as a place to get better, and a place to compete. Every single kid on the team understands the other teams as enemies that they need to concor. Each child has a different life story about how they became the person they were. For example, some kids were born in Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia, and some kids were born in Trinidad and Tobago. The kids come from many different backgrounds, but all unite because they understand the world the same. Alike the Native Americans and African tribes, the Venom perform the same rituals before each game and practice. They eat the same foods, always healthy, and they get themselves loose in the same way each time. They always eat healthy foods like salads, fruits, and vegetables but they never eat something that could weight them down like junk food. Before each game, the team performs the same warm up, they jog, they spring, they do high knees, etc. These rituals before a game never change, similar to how the Native Americans rituals never change. Because many of the members come from different backgrounds, there is a stern difference between how they differentiate themselves. Many kids show up to practices in clothes that they wear on a daily basis, so for some people, that s different. Kids show up in jackets, shorts, gloves, hats, jerseys, anything under the sun. The catch is that they are always unique, the outfits are never similar to the others. Although we all share the same interests, we all differentiate from another because of our styles of life. Race And Ethnicity And Race Zamarripa 1 Marcos Zamarripa Anthropology 9: Society and Culture October 27, 2015 Race and Ethnicity Ethnicity and race have been used in American society to the point where both words are indistinguishable from each other. Race is a social construct (Throop, Lecture, 10 /8/2015). Race is a social construct because race is used to differentiate the different ethnic groups from each other. Race should not be used to separate the different ethnic groups. In American society, it is evident that certain ethnic groups are singled out for the problems in our society. Usually those ethnic groups are minorities. African Americans and Latinos are usually the minorities that are singled out for the problems or benefit of the majority. Negligence Law In order to successfully establish General Motor s negligence, the product liability case must comply with the following established principles: 1)Is there a Duty of Care toward the injured party? Indisputably, General Motors has a duty of care. The responsibility of a manufacturer was established in Donaghue v. Stevenson, (1932) A.C. 562, which established the principle that manufacturers have the duty to ensure that the ultimate consumers of their product do not sustain injuries as a result of the use of their products. Manufacturers of goods and services are subject to a high duty of care given that these businesses commercially profit from the purchase and use of their products. 2)What is the standard of care that should be applied in this particular instance? Once a duty of care has been established, the defendant(s) standard of care must then be determined. In view of the fact that General Motors stands to commercially gain a significant amount of revenue and profit from the sale of their products, these large multi national firms are positioned with a high

The difficulty in finding [a] quote(s) is that almost nobody is going to feel and/or understand the way you interpret a quote. Quotes have different meanings to everyone, and for some, a quote is not something that can explained, but something a person must feel. I guess since I have to choose I would choose the lyrics to Angel by Theory of a Deadman. The lyrics to Angel include the line, Her halo is broken, but there s fight in her eyes. As someone who has gone through an insane amount of tough experiences in her life from being bullied from the time she started school at Lanier County until she moved to Valwood this song has a meaning to me that cannot simply be expressed in words. The quote is more than just the lyrics of a song. The words are an encouragement, and they are meaningful. They inspire me to remember that even when I get knocked down I need to get back up and be ready to fight. • 10. Characteristics Of The Anzac Legend Australians fought in many wars, but the most successful war was thought to be the war to end all wars (World War One). The Anzacs had experienced many hardships in this horrific war; special qualities were developed throughout the war such as endurance, mateship and courage. On the 25th of April the birth of the Anzac legend had risen. As they charged into enemy territories, in the early morning of the 1900s, they were destined to succeed despite the raining gun fire by the Turkish soldiers. Mateship, courage and endurance gradually strengthened deeper into the war; as a result, no one could take away these three imperishable qualities. Many historical records show many different perspectives about the Anzac legend. As a nation, we look upon three main attributes that the Anzacs had demonstrated courage, mateship and endurance. Therefore, the Anzac legacy continues to prosper in its purpose to motivate the modern Australian society. As the war progressed, Australian troops made trenches; this protected them from gunfire. On the other hand diseases were introduced such as the trench foot. Having a trench foot was painful, swollen conditions caused by feet remaining wet for too long; if gangrene (progress) set in, the feet would have to be amputated (Darlington, 2012). This shows determination, which the Anzac possessed regardless of the dangers that may happen. These hard conditions that the Anzacs had faced are also reflected in an extract from Eric Rapkins s Dairy. Eric

  • 13. 0 0 0 0, no agglutination +, weak agglutination ++, moderate agglutination +++, strong agglutination Questions: 1.It is important to study sialic acid binding lectins because their glyco conjugates on the cell membrane of microorganisms are usually associated with virulence factors that cause disease eg. Streptococcus suis which has a high sialic acid content on its cell membrane causes infections in pigs and humans resulting in cases of meningitis and endocartis. Sialic acid is also associated with P. aeruginosa and the virulence it normally induces. Other lectins that are also of importance in microbiology and/or cell biology are mannose binding lectins which are also associated with virulence. 2.The agglutination is based on binding of the sialic acid to the cell membrane. To confirm that sialic acid carbohyrates are responsible for the binding the cells can be stripped of sialic acid and the experiment repeated. The cells are treated with sialidase from C. Perfringens to remove sialic acid carbohydrates from the cell surface membrane. Cell are given a 6 hour growth period Cells are then centrifuged and re suspended in sialidase and buffer and incubated to remove any sialic acid carbohydrates. Cells are then washed in PBS
  • 14. New Zealand s Water Quality Fresh water is a diverse issue due to its implications on aquatic life, drinking water supplies, cultural views and water based recreation. It is a political object in the way it can be regulated at a local and national scale. This essay is going to focus on New Zealand s water quality, as an issue, through the use of Michel Foucaults theories. Foucault s major influences in theory focus on the struggle of power relations. I have previously reviewed three papers by Foucault, and will use the key points I found in these readings to look at water quality. The alternatives to the prison found that power gets to define what the truth is, and this makes truth a social category (Foucault, 2009). This is related to the function of the state who defines what is allowed and what is not. The state can be seen to use illegalities that benefit them and therefore make them legal. It also looks at the use of surveillance to control people s actions. The crisis of medicine or anti medicine looks at the control of medicine (Foucault, 2004). It was used by the state to control the health of people, as they thought a healthy population equalled a stronger, more threatening population. This again looks at the power of the state over people. The third reading, spaces of security, looks at the implications of trying to plan for the future, and how it is near impossible to plan for every possible situation (Foucault Knowlton King, 2007). In order to claim power, evil must oppress the innocent, even if the innocent attempts to break loose, evil continues to push down. An example of evil s oppression is the genocide that occurred in the 1970 s. A communist group known as the Khmer Rougeinvaded Cambodiato transform its society into a communist agrarian society (Cambodian Genocide). The Khmer Rouge believed that all Cambodians must work as one huge federation of collective farmers. Anyone who opposed this was killed. If anyone questioned what the Khmer Rouge was doing, didn t work or showed any emotion, they were killed. The Khmer Rouge wanted equality among the people. The Khmer Rouge also questioned its own members, and frequently executed members for suspicions of treason. Survival in Cambodia was determined by one s ability to work. Therefore, Cambodia s elderly, handicapped, ill, and children suffered. If someone wore glasses, they were considered an intellectual who would cause trouble and therefore was killed. If they had a watch, they were considered wealthy and killed (McCormick). Before that in 1934, a rival to Stalin, Sergey Kirov, was murdered. Stalin was accused of being behind the assassination, and he used this as an excuse to arrest thousands of people. Who, in his words, could have been responsible for Kirov s murder

However, after doing a little research on the juvenile detention centers, one might think that they should be on the news every night until something is fixed. In some cases, jail guards have been caught beating and assaulting children in jail so badly that they have broken bones and scarred them for life. There have also been studies proving that counseling children provide a better chance for engaging with the public. Many children who have participated in some type of counseling have turned out a lot better than those who have not participated in counseling. I now agree that for the most part, children should not be locked up and they should instead be taken to treatment facilities, talk to counselors, and helped on their journey to become adults. When a young kid gets themselves into trouble, what happens to them? Before taking this class and writing this paper I wasn t sure. There are a few different routes that a juvenile delinquent could take. Once juveniles are sent into jail or a detention center it is even possible that their behavior can get worse as time goes on. Based on my research about the topic and what Nell Bernstein talked about in her book, it is in the best interest of the juvenile to not be confined in a jail cell but in fact given treatment or counseling for their actions. Instead of locking youth delinquents up, it is proven that

Finally, The Dark Side of the Moon and OK Computer discuss many topics which might be considered to be controversial among mainstream media but it is for this exact reasoning that made them stand out so greatly among all the other forms of music. While most musicians talk about romance or break ups, Pink Floyd and Radiohead bring up topics that make you ponder existence itself. What makes these two albums so influential is that because of their boldness to break all boundaries within music, it has inspired other musicians to do the same. These uniqueness of these albums stands out so strongly that they have quite literally created genres within themselves. While both albums main theme is about the struggles of life, The Dark Side of the Moon takes a more objective and spiritual approach while OK Computer takes a more subjective and societarian approach. Both albums tell a story but The Dark Side of the Moon tells it s story from a more third person perspective while OK Computer tells it s story from a more first person perspective. Two Types Of Solar Eclipses In Greek History An eclipse is an astronomical event that happens when a celestial object such as a moon or a planet moves into the shadow of another celestial body and there are two types of the eclipse on Earth named solar eclipse and lunar eclipse. A solar eclipse happens when the moon s shadow falls somewhere on the surface of the earthand a lunar eclipse is the opposite of solar eclipsewhich happens when the earth s shadow falls on the moon. There are two sections of the shadow, the dark umbra, and the partially shaded penumbra, their placement determines the type of eclipse that can be seen on earth though placement sun.According to Greek history, the person who predicted the first eclipse was a Greek mathematician, Thales of Miletus. On May 28, 585 BC, the Lydians, and Medes were engaged in fierce fighting and this was the six year of war between them. Each was from a different side of Anatolia which is modern day Turkey. As the battle stretched on into the evening, both armies were surprised to see the Sun suddenly darkening and they believed that it was a message from the gods that they were displeased by the strife. But the Lydians and Medes laid down their arms. They swore to end the long war and solidified the peace by giving a Lydian princess to marry the king of the Medes. This is one of the earliest events in recorded history to which we can set an exact date as we can calculate when that eclipse took place. The eclipses are valuable to the historian as they give us an event that we can use to correctly date ancient chronologies. Ancient historians recorded that his eclipse that stopped the war was actually predicted by Thales. Through thousands of year, patiently watching the movements of the Sun and Moon in the sky, ancient astronomers realized eclipses happen when the moon passed directly in front of the Sun. For the solar eclipse to work though, of course, the moon has to be big enough to block out the sun. In reality, the moon is 400 times smaller than the Sun but in a fantastic cosmic. However, from our point of view, the moon is almost exactly the same size as the sun in the sky and this means it will line up and it will completely block the disc of the sun. If the moon is the smaller or any further

Y Gasset s The Dehumanization... 1) Oliverio Girondo s poetry is representative of a new style of art encompassed in JosГ© Ortega y Gasset s The Dehumanization of Art. Aesthetics no longer conform to the traditional classical style but instead, champions a futurist type meant to bypass the limitations of rationale in a trivial and playful nature likened to sport. Girondo clearly breaks from the platonic ideals of beauty and delves into the aesthetics of the grotesque by using antipoetic language, which sublimes the abject. This is made obvious early in Scarecrow other anomalies as he writes that he couldn t care less if women have breasts like fresh magnolias or withered figs, skin smooth as a peach or rough as sand paper. [...] breath of an aphrodisiac or the breath of an insecticide. (Girondo 7). Girondo often uses ludic and vulgar language and has a clear objective of relegating humans to beasts or objects, for example, he describes May a spider s foot sprout from each of your pores, [...] may all the inhabitants of the city mistake you for a urinal. [...] May your family amuse itself deforming your bone structure, so that mirrors, looking at you, commit suicide out of sheer repugnance (Girondo 75). Girondo s scarecrow calligram illustrates the new style of art masterfully as he creates an extended metaphor to ridicule bourgeois ideals, literarily from head to toe intended to scare bourgeois aesthetics, instead of accustomed crows. Girondo ultimately describes that a book should be put together like a

With themes of murder, sexual abuse, neglect, and other forms of violence, both physical and psychological, there seems to be one topic that is slightly more prevalent when speaking about tween literature. Tween literature and culture is often marketed towards young girls and their parents, because of this, it becomes easy to talk about themes of feminismin tween literature. More specifically, due to the time period in which tween culture became mainstream, postfeminism is a topic that is often heavily discussed around tween literature. Both Gail Levine s novel, Ella Enchanted, as well as Louise Fitzhughs novel Harriet the Spy, can both be analyzed using a postfeminist lense. By using a postfeminist lense in analyzing these books, the issues of postfeminism become apparent when addressing issues such as a false sense of choice for young girls, an idea that they must be ashamed for who they are and the views that they hold. It is further complicated when it becomes apparent that due to postfeminist ideology, women, and specifically young girls have lost the ability to articulate sexism when it affects them. Through these points of contention regarding postfeminism, it becomes aparent that society is not quite ready to hold postfeminist views, since there is still an imbalance of power that women face on a day to day basis. It is important to have a baseline understanding of what
  • 31. Benefits Of Reflection On Healthcare 2.4 Benefits of Reflection in Healthcare For the practitioner, the benefits of reflection includes the identification of learning needs, continual development in practice, the ability to provide evidence based care and the elimination of routine practice (Jasper et al. 2011 and Bulman 2013). Furthermore, as part of the NMC (2015) code of professional standard and a significant component of the revalidation process, reflective nurses do not only fulfil the regulatory requirements, but to some extent, safeguard the success of their revalidation process. As a result of the practitioner s development and use of reflection, patients benefit by receiving better quality of individualised care, evidence based practice from their specific needs and better standards of patient safety including a reduction in the number of adverse incidents (Jasper et al. 2011). This essentially represents the use and respect of the Code in practice (NMC 2015). Also, the affirmation of best practice, considered by Driscoll (2007) to be one of the benefits of reflection, results in a higher standard in quality of care and a good reputation for professional practice (Jasper et al. 2011). This brings significant benefits to both the NHS as an employer and the nursing profession. 2.5 Limitations to Reflection Irrespective of the importance and benefits of reflection, Johns (2013), (inspired by Fay s (1987) identification of commitment as a prerequisite to reflection), used commitment to lay limitations

  • 44. Chinua Crude Prices And Its Implications On India FALL IN CRUDE PRICES ITS IMPLICATIONS ON INDIA Introduction: The presence of crude oil was first discovered in China way back in 3rd or 4th century A.D. The presence of oil in India was discovered in late 1889 at Digboi in Assam where the first crude oil refinery was set up in 1901. India is not among the major oil producers and that is why it generally depends on imports from other countries. The largest crude oil producing country is Saudi Arabia followed by Russia and America. The extent of the commodity s importance was shown to the world when the world s strongest economies were shaken up as the oil prices shot up in 1973 and 1979, after this the whole oil sector was nationalized in India. Currently, crude oil alone is responsible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the main reasons is the mismatch between the demand and supply of oil. Due to sluggish pace of global economies, the demand has been reducing. The other more important reason is tremendous increase in production levels by the oil extraction using Shale Gas formations in wells of Texas and North Dakota. When the oil prices were at $110 115/barrel, they drilled oil from shale gas formations which was earlier considered unviable due to low profit margins. This drilling has resulted into a supply glut which is further helped by Saudi Arabia and OPEC who are reluctant to decrease production. Source: www.wtrg.com It is said that OPEC as a cartel has been unfruitful is maintaining the price levels. Some say that OPEC and Saudi Arabia are purposely not relenting to reduce the production as oil production from Shale Gas formations is much more expensive than oil production at Saudi Arabia (~$5 6/barrel) which is the lowest in the world. OPEC and Saudi Arabia hope to wipe out the Shale Gas producers by the continued fall of crude oil price levels to less than $50/barrel after which it is believed that it would be unviable for the Shale Gas producers to continue. Impact of the fall for India Crude Oil prices affect the life of the average human being in India in multiple ways from food prices to transport costs. It would seem that falling crude oil prices is great news which couldn t
  • 45. Testing the Strength of Plant Fibers Essay Title: Testing the strength of plant fibers Objectives: To develop knowledge and understanding of the strength of plant fiber in a plant stem. To develop problem solving and experimental skills, for example, information is accurately processed, using calculations where appropriate, experimental procedures are planned, designed and evaluated properly, the use of microscopes, producing valid results and recording results. To develop techniques of measuring the size of plant fibers under microscope using stage micrometer and eyepiece graticule. Introduction: Pumpkin plant Pumpkin is of the genus Cucurbita and family Cucurbitaceae . Pumpkins are grown all around the world for a variety of reasons ranging from agricultural purposes ... Internal structure of a stem Source: http://www.daviddarling.info/encyclopedia/P /plant_stem.html Mature sclerenchyma cells are dead and have thickened secondary cell walls impregnated with lignin. It is elastic. The cell cavity or lumen is very small or may disappear completely. There are two types of sclerenchyma cells. They are sclereids and fibres. Sclereid cells are irregular in shape, thick, hard, and lignified. Sclereids are commonly found in fruit and seeds. Fibres have tapering ends, thick walls and rather small lumen. Secondary cell wall impregnated with lignin are also present. Simple pits are also present. It is abundant in vascular tissue of angiosperm such as flowering plants. Sclerenchyma is important in supporting tissues in plants. Sclereids account for the hardness in seeds of the plant. Fibre plays a role in transporting water in the plants. Xylem is located in the middle section of the of a plant stem. It can be found close with other transport tissues in plants such as phloem which transports sugars and amino acids in the plant. In non woody plants, xylem forms bundle with phloem in order words the vascular bundles. Xylem is thickened with deposits of lignin that provides mechanical support in plants. Protoxylem(primary xylem) can be grown into metaxylem(secondary xylem) by secondary growth in the actively dividing vascular cambium. It is found in vascular plants which is responsible
  • 46. The Effects Of Alcohol On The Consumption Of Alcohol There are a multitude of aspects to consider as to why an individual would be dependent on the consumption of alcohol. One being the living environment of an individual has an effect on alcohol abuse according to the studies found, McCaul et al (2009) talks about this theme and goes on to say that the more licensed alcohol establishment s in one particular area means it s more likely for someone to drink on a regular basis as it s not out of their way. Another reason may be the individual s emotional state can have an impact on how much they drink, according to Callanan et al. (2009) people consume alcohol as a way of coping with emotional factors such as stress and depression. Economic factors may be an underlying cause of alcohol abuse. Callanan et al (2009) found that the monotony of unemployment presents its self as an opportunity to consume alcohol which may become habitual. There are many negative psycho, social and economic factors that may affect an individual abusing alcohol. St. John et al (2009) said that anyone living in a more deprived area neighbourhoods are more likely to abuse alcohol which may be down to boredom as more people in deprived areas abuse alcohol as a way of freedom from the real world for a short period of time. Economic factors may be an underlying cause of alcohol abuse. Callanan et al (2009) found that the monotony of unemployment presents its self as an opportunity to consume alcohol which may become habitual. Lee et al (2009) states that
  • 47. Bilateral Symmetry In Animals Introduction and Literature Review Animals have different types of body symmetry. The types of symmetry are asymmetry, radial symmetry, bilateral symmetry and biradial symmetry. In bilateral symmetry, a single imaginary plane divides the body into left and right sides, which are similar. Many types of animals have bilateral symmetry and addition, possesses dorsal, ventral, anterior, and posterior segments on each of their left and right sides. Flatworms have bilateral symmetry and bilateral symmetry is more associated with increasing the mobility (De Lange, et al., 2016). Thus, we can conclude that bilateral symmetry is important in balance distribution of parts that are duplicated in the body and in the evolution of animals. For example, sponges do not have body symmetry; they are asymmetric. Presence of symmetry helps better for body plans in most multi cellular organisms. Most of the plants and animals of same species show the same structural orientation. There are different types of symmetry like radial symmetry, bilateral symmetry, and biradial symmetry and it varies from one species to another. There are different genes which are involved in assigning proper symmetry to the animal or plant species and it is important in the evolution of animals. For example, sponges do not have body symmetry; they are asymmetric. Radial symmetry is exhibited by cnidarians and ctenophores, but tapeworms and flukes exhibit bilateral symmetry (Dzik et al., 2017). Symmetry in plants and
  • 48. Implementing Multi Tiered Systems Of Support A Part Of Our... MTSS Update: Our district is well along the path to making Multi Tiered Systems of Support a part of our normal routine. We are in our 6th year for reading and starting our third year of working on behavior. We will be continuing to work on both of those areas and rolling in math this year. All buildings have completed our first reading screener of the year and are busy doing further diagnostic testing of students who are not at benchmark. Some small groups have already started to address the specific needs of each student. These small groups change throughout the year based on the students needs. The goal is that students will master the grade level skills and exit the intervention group. MTSS, where are we and where are we going? Reading has became just part of how we do business and the results are starting to show great gains. Last year the K 5 schools implemented a new core curriculum. There is continued work in refining the tiered process, and aligning interventions with students specific needs. AMS has added the use of the Scholastic Reading Inventory screener and is also working with Rachel Loersch, a literacy expert, to refine tier two work. 6 12 English Language Arts staff will be considering new curriculum materials for the 2016 17 school year to align with the Kansas College Career Ready Standards. We are continuing to offer Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) training throughout the year and will adding a training for
  • 49. Use of Airplanes in WW1 The First World War was monumental in history because of all the new technology that was introduced. One particular area that developed during the Great War was the use of airplanes by the German and Allied militaries. In comparison, they both had different mentalities towards an invention that was only made successful less than a decade before the outbreak of war in 1914 by the Wright Brothers in North Carolina, United States. The German Military welcomed the idea with open arms, investing in its potential for military uses, whereas the Allies remained reserved and hesitant, claiming that aircraft could not be used for anything more offensive than reconnaissance missions. These differences in opinions later affected the development of each air force. The German military kept making monthly improvements to their equipment whereas the allied pilots were slow in their respective air forces evolution. However, there was a common progression that both militaries had which was the slow phasing out of the cavalry on either side due to the effectiveness of the aircrafts reconnaissance capabilities. During the World War One, the German military took advantage of the new technology available to them, which gave significant results, whereas the Allies had a more traditional mindset for the beginning of the conflict. The Central powers have usually accepted new technology within their history without much opposition. One example of this fact is based on the preparedness of the German
