Personally, I enjoyed Shoeless Joe, due to its fascinating display of great symbols and meaning,

his dad about Shoeless Joe himself. At the end of the book, they go back to that memory, and it
is a nice way to tie the book together. Another aspect that I enjoyed was how Ray fought through
a gigantic economic issue. Ray could not pay off his mortgage, which was a horrible situation,

The Day began by me attending the civil court early on Monday, 17, August Morning at 9:00
AM to witness the processes involved with civil case proceedings. I had a selection of court
rooms to choose from so I took some time to investigate from the attorney s on which one was

possession over the beauty of his sculpture, Hoffmann similarly paints Nathaniel as irrationally

In Peter Shaffer s play, Equus, one of the main characters is a psychiatrist named Martin Dysart
who specializes with adolescents. The play begins with a seventeen year old boy named Alan
Strang and a horse named Nugget. Alan is showing great affection towards the horse. Suddenly, a
man in his forties is shown holding a cigarette. This man is Martin Dysart, the first character to
speak in the play. He begins with a monologue describing Alan and the horse. Rather than focusing
on the young boy, Dysart is examining the horse and its purpose. Using his psychiatric brain, Dysart

Agamemnon, a warrior written by Homer (Ancient Greece). Dysart is also aware of the location
of where this sacrifice is happening. He believes that he is in Argos because of the red soil (14).
This is a place in classical myths where the warrior Agamemnon went to sacrifice his daughter
(Sikyon). Dysart is sacrificing children similarly to Agamemnon sacrificing his daughter. After
cutting open each child, Dysart parts the flaps, severs the inner tubes, yanks them out and throws

In Brian Resnick s How Politics Breaks Our Brains, and How We Can Put Them Back Together
Resnick talks about what, scientifically, makes us bias and prone to partisanship. He explores and
evaluates many studies on the subject throughout the article to better explain his point. He talks
about how difficult it is to change ones views because our us versus them (1) mindset, and how we
can fix it.
Resnick believes that partisanship pushes us to dehumanize them. If someone is on our side we
are more likely to call them human. However, research says this is not our fault, because it is the
brain following a pattern. We find it hard to empathize with the opposition. If assigned a group we
automatically like our team better. In contrast, we see the other team as less and we are more likely
to dehumanize them. Resnick says in partisanship we show the other team less sympathy,
