Memento is an American psychological thriller, written and directed by Christopher
Nolan. With inspiration from his little brother, Nolan wrote the Memento Mori which was
eventually turned into this movie. The main character in the movie is Leonard, an ex insurance
investigator who suffers from anterograde amnesia after a horrible incident. Throughout the film
there are some other characters that Leonard interact with that he becomes friends with: Teddy

The psychological disorder portrayed throughout the movie Memento is Anterograde
Amnesia. According to the dictionary, anterograde amnesia is amnesia caused by brain damage
in which the memory loss relates to events occurring after the damage. In the movie, Leonard s
inability to recall the information tracing his wife s death without assistance was an example of
amnesia. His ability to only remember things fifteen minutes at a time made the type of amnesia
anterograde. People who suffer with amnesia from brain injuries have a hard time recalling

What is the disease that can affect 23 million people and kill 800 people in the span of a winter
with in the United States alone? (CDC, 2105) This same illness has around 3,000 people admitted
into british hospitals yearly. (CDC, 2105) Norwalk virus, also called Norovirus after the renaming
in 2002, is the most common stomach bug but is still very dangerous. This virus has killed more
than 200,000 children in developing countries and affects so many people within one winter,
which is why the Norwalk virus is called the Winter Vomiting Illness. (food safety, 2105) The
Norwalk virus is very preventable, but can do damage.
History
To understand what Norwalk is you have to look at it s history. Norwalk has been around for
hundreds if not thousands of years and is almost impossible to track where the illness had

Anti-Bullying Program Analysis
When discussing our prevention project my group thought that we should look for other effective
bullying programs and see how they achieved success. That is when I came across and article on
the Great Schools website. This article explained that a group from the University of Kansas was
looking in to implementing an anti bullyingprogram at the local elementary schools. The program,
KiVa, was very successful in Finland and these college students wanted to see if it would work
in schools here in the United States. The article only explained that they planned to implement
this program and did not provide any follow up on if it was implemented and if it was successful.

Some of the outcomes from the study involved improved view of school as a caring environment
which led to better learning in core subjects. This program lowered overall depression symptoms
for the fourth through sixth grade students, but was significant especially for the students in sixth
grade that were reported victims of bullying. Lowering depression symptoms also improved self
esteem among the sixth grade victims as well. Not only were significant improvements seen
following the study, but these improvements were seen to have long lasting effects six months

motor disabilities. The PEO model of practice has three main components which include the person
(P), environment (E), and occupation (O), which will be used for the interventions in this case
study. According to Rousseau, Potvin, Dutil, and Falta (2002), knowing the individual s
environment and how it interacts with the person is one of the essential key factors needed to

Theodore Roethke s Depiction of Nature We live in a day and age where many people are more
focused on the screens in their pockets than on the world around them. It goes without saying
that people s lack of connection with the outside world and underappreciation of its beauty are
two of the issues we face in this nowadays. When it comes to the poet, Theodore Roethke,
however, he is not one of the individuals who is faced with this problem. Due to spending much
of his childhood in a greenhouse owned by his father, Roethke has always been inspired by and
had a keen eye for objects and occurrences in nature (www.biography.com). The poems, The Sloth
, Night Journey , and Selections from I am! Said the lamb , by Theodore Roethke, encompasses
clever rhyme, skilled syntax, and insightful imagery in order to portray different concepts about
nature. Roethke s poem, The Sloth , describes the slowness of sloths and their careless attitudes
by using literary devices to accentuate examples of them being so. The poem points out that
sloths are very sleepy animals, and so off to sleep again [it] goes,/ still swaying gently by [its]
toes, from the tree it was resting in (Roethke...The 10 11). The quick witted rhyme helps to paint
a picture in the reader s mind of the relationship between the sloth and the tree. Roethke did a
spectacular job of representing that relationship in nature by putting an emphasis on the fact

Question Mark and Bench Mark Hill had to become a combined operation for advancement. The
130th Infantry Regiment was the main unit assigned to the mission supported by the 43rd Division
Artillery Liaisons; 210th, 122nd, 123rd, and 124th field artillery battalion. On February 16, 130th
Infantry regiment led by Lt. Robert R. Kimball and Lt. Alfred Angulo dispatched small groups to

The Sea and the Old Man
An old man, alone in the ocean with no other humans in sight, struggles to pull an eighteen foot
marlin close enough to his boat to strike the killing blow. He is tired, and almost at the end of his
strength. He thinks to himself, I will try one more time. In The Old Man and The Sea by Ernest
Hemingway, protagonist Santiago finds himself in an ongoing struggle for dominance. He must
persevere through pain and adversity in order to catch a giant marlin, and then make his way back
home afterwards. In the beginning of the book, Hemingway paints a picture of what the code hero,
or ideal character, would be. Santiago is definitely one of these code heroes. Throughout the book,
he shows incredible perseverance through difficult situations, he recognizes his flaws and accepts
them, and he faces death, of both his goal and himself, without fear or concern.
Santiago s perseverance is a clear sign that he is one of Hemingway s code heroes. In both his
everyday life and his fight with the marlin, Santiago does not give up and endures whatever pain
may come. At the beginning of the book, Manolin reminds Santiago of how they went eighty seven
days without fish and then ...caught big ones every day for three weeks (10). Santiago has had to

Animal testing is one of the most controversial scientific issues debated around the world. It
questions the right of wild animals to be used in commercial, cosmetics and even for medical
research purposes. Although it happens in most of the world (including New Zealand) today, many
question whether it should go on. Animal testing is generally the use of animals for different
purposes in lab conditions.
Brief history of animal testing and achievements: Animal testing has existed since the 2nd
century BCE through the work of Greek scientist Aristotle (Animal testing Wikipedia). He was
the first one to have made experiments on live animals. The first animal testing experiments was
to find out how our bodies work. For example, the discovery of blood circulation in mammals
was discovered in the 12th century by Arabic scientist Ibn Al Nafis and this was refined later in
the 17th century by William Harvey. Animal testing has also played a vital role in human medical
advances. It has helped developed vaccines to cure diseases such as polio which has almost been
eradicated. It has also have helped humans to have a better understanding of our bodily

CaCO3/L solution) to a 250 mL Erlenmeyer flask.
b. Add about 30 ml of deionized water to this titration flask.
c. Add a magnetic stir bar, place on a magnetic stirrer and begin stirring. A piece of white paper
under the flask gives good contrast for easier detection of the indicator color change.
d. Inside the fume hood, add about 3mL of ammonia/ammonium chloride buffer (pH 10). The buffer
is an inhalation irritant. Stir for 30 seconds.
e. Just prior to titrating the flask, add four drops of Eriochrome Black T indicator solution.
