single broth that contained two species of bacterium. One bacterium was gram

techniques and knowledge we learned in class to separate and identify the two

our Biochemical Unknown Lab we were given a tube that contained broth media
which held two different types of bacterium. Once we were given our broths, we
had to streak two Nutrient Agar plates with the mixed culture tube by using a loop.
After I streaked my Nutrient Agar plates, I decided to perform a gram stain. First I
flamed the loop and set it aside to cool. After I flamed the loop I prepared two
slides with a drop of water in the middle. Once the loop was cool I dipped the loop
into the broth and smeared the loop onto both slides mixing the unknown
bacterium with the water. I flamed my loop, set it aside, heat fixed both slides,
and let the slides air dry. Once the slide were dry I set them on two rods above the
drainage area and covered the smears with Crystal Violet. I let the Crystal Violet sit

Around 1339 in northwestern Europe, the population was beginning to outgrow
the food supply and a severe economic crisis began to take place. The winters were
extremely cold and the summers were dry. Due to this extreme weather, very low
crops yielded and those that grew were dying. Inflation became a common
occurrence and as famine broke out, people began to worry. The time period of
approximately 1339 to 1346 is now known as the famine before the plague (history).
These seven bad years of weather and famine lead to the greatest plague of all times.
In 1347, endemic to Asia, The Black Death began spreading throughout Western

But there were others they had forgotten...the children. They were by all means
frequent receivers of the disease and it killed them almost instantly or within a few
hours . The children in plague infested towns had premature exposures which
allowed for the disease to affect them physically and mentally. Once infected, the
parents of the children would abandon them on the streets instead because many

Churches finest leaders were quitting and some even moved far away to avoid the
problems they were facing. Since many head officials were parting, the Church
panicked and began aggressively recruiting others to fill the ranks. As the Monks,
Nuns, and Friars continued to disappear, the standards for their replacements
lowered. This caused the monasteries to be run by less educated people, leading to a

outcome of the game. The true definition is a stand still uncontested shot that is

should rarely miss a free throw. But as the game keeps evolving, the fundamental of

routine, then the balance, after that you look at the rim or sight your goal, and

A routine consists of dribbles, spins, and breaths, whatever someone s routine is it
will only be effective if they repeat it (Lowry,5/13/07). If you change your routine a
couple times in one season it can throw off your rhythm and drop your shot
percentage. Rhythm follows routine because with the routine comes rhythm. When
the shooter repeats their routine for a long period of time the natural rhythm flows
into the shot and helps the percentage (McCormick, 2/10/10). Of all these three
things, none of them are the most important, one must repeat all of them to be
considered a good free throw shooter. Focusing during a free throw is one of the
most key things you can do. With the game on the line the shooter cannot be
thinking about the pressure they must think about the shot and that s it. When the
crowd is yelling wildly the shooter must clear their mind and do what feels natural

can receive more attention by misbehaving. I want them to strive to be attentive, well

President of the United States, James Monroe, wrote a letter to Andrew Jackson

What I hope to accomplish in this chapbook is to portray a message to the people
who may have lost somebody close to them. I want to let people know that death is
part of life, and even though it isn t something you can understand now, I promise
it will get better for you. Just know that when I say these things I am speaking from
experience. This chapbook may not only help you, but by creating it, I was also
able to give myself peace and assurance. All these poems are similar, as they tell of
the hardships that are met when you lose a loved one. These poems were a way for
the authors to communicate their feelings of sadness through poetry. My hope is that
someone can read this anthology and get the same feeling out of it as the authors did
