This summer I traversed these border crossings and military checkpoints several times a week,
traveling from the comfortable West Jerusalem neighborhood where I was staying, to various
locations in the West Bank. Now that I am home, I cannot help but return again and again to this

Personal Views on Music Therapy Philosophies There are many different views and approaches
used in therapy and in society in general. These views include: cognitive, behavioral, cognitive
behavioral, psychodynamic, biological, and humanistic (Comer, 2014). Some of the approaches
used include the Orff approach, Dalcroze approach, Kodaly approach, Bonny Method of Guided
Imagery and Music, and Nordoff Robbins approach (Darrow, 2008). Darrow explained the different
philosophies, populations, and applications of these diverse approaches. In music therapy, the
theory that is practiced by a music therapist will determine the types of approaches and terms
used and how they use them. The approaches used will also affect how they interact with clients.
The different approaches can elicit very different interactions with clients (Darrow). There are
three main theories used in therapy. These three main theories are known as psychodynamic,
behavioral, and humanistic. The psychodynamic view is based on repressed thoughts and
feelings, the behavioral view is based on behaviors, and the humanistic view is based on self
actualization (Comer, 2014). Each of these views will be further explored as I piece together my

Cassava (Manihot esculenta) is a tuberous root crop that serves as a source of carbohydrate for
more than 800 million people worldwide and its cultivation is estimated to cover more than 18.9
million hectors (FAO, 2011). It is a vital source of food and income to resource poor farmers
(especially women) in the tropics and staple foodcrop for nearly 200 million people in the sub
Saharan Africa (Liu et al., 2011; Nyaboga et al., 2013). In Tanzania, cassavaranks only second to
maize and third to rice, with its calories contribution per day being 15 % (FAO 2009).
Cassava production in Africa is constrained with various pests and viral diseases especially
cassava brown streak and cassava mosaic diseases. Research efforts to genetically improve
resistance against viral diseases, drought, postharvest deterioration and nutrients fortification of
this crop are underway (Zang et al., 2005; Vanderschuren et al., 2009; Nyaboga et al., 2013). All
these efforts are through genetic transformation method which relies on the ability of cassava to
regenerate from somatic embryos to full plant. Due to heterozygozity nature of cassava, it is
difficult to use its zygotic embryos as starting materials for genetic transformation protocols
(Raemakers et al., 1997; Sarria et al., 2000; Taylor et al., 2001; Siritunga and Sayre 2003). Instead,
organised structures from somatic embryo cotyledons and friable embryogenic calli (FECs) have
been developed (SchГ¶pke et al., 1996; Taylor et al., 2004). FECs

Environmental Problems are not something to be ignored.
Pollution, overpopulation, deforestation, and global warming are just some of the environmental
problems that impact the world. These environmental problems can severely damage our world,

four previously mentioned problems can cause environmental destruction. For example; pollution
causes global warming, and the warmer weather from global warming causes the glaciers and
