Early American Ice Age
The early Americans came to America in search of food Ice Ages have extremely cold
temperatures they make massive ice sheets or glaciers over the planet and for that extremely
cold temperature the sea levels were much lower. Since, the sea levels were so low there was
massive areas of land. That land is called Beringia. It s a land bridge that is connecting Siberia
which is in Asia to Alaska that is in North America. Not long ago when the Europeans arrived in
America they had found that Native Americans were living there. The Europeans had thought that
the Native Americans had came from a mythical island called Atlantis. To illustrate Nomads
gathered wild grains and mostly relied on hunting for animals. When the Nomads were in search
of food they had crossed the Beringia. The recent Ice Age was 100,000 years ago and had ended
12,000 years ago. When the Ice Age ended the Ice sheets had melted so the sea level had leveled
out and Beringia had disappeared. Now the Beringia lies under the Bering Strait. After the Nomads
entered North America they heard of huge mammals. They hunted for them. The huge mammals

Trailer Video Analysis
In my movie trailer video I used pictures from shutterstock and google images, the music I used
is off on the wevideo site I used. I chose upbeat music at first to represent that in the book
everything is normal and happy at first. Then I used more sad and suspenseful music, because in
the book you don t know what s going to happen next. In my video I included a lot of pictures of
Sam with her friends, because that s is one of the main elements of her is that she is always
surrounded by her friends. The mood conveyed in the trailer is suspenseful. I tried to make it
suspenseful because in the book it is hard to tell what s going to happen next so it is suspenseful.
To make it suspenseful I changed the music to a sad and slower pace song. I also sped up some
images and the ones I wanted the watcher to really think about I slowed down. That is how I tried
to make the mood in my... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I showed these themes by showing a lot of pictures of Sam and her friends and then the event
that something bad happened to them. Then for the next theme I explained it more in words
about how Sam has to risk it all to save her life. The two symbols were the snow and friends. In
the book the snow changed a lot of the outcomes with the accident. With Sam s friends they
changed a lot of the outcomes as well. This being said it is clear I chose symbols that changed
the path that the story went in and those symbols were mainly the reason why. The main
character is Sam Kingston, this is the only character named in my trailer. Throughout the story it
is mostly just her making decisions on her own. For Sam this is hard and the end of the book
relies on her. So in my trailer I made it seem the book was really just about her and her choices
because it mostly is. Also this makes it seem more suspenseful and

Essay On Self Analysis Paper
Self Analysis
My junior year I was pretty nervous hearing the word college class, worrying that it was going to
be harder than any other english class I would of been able to take. But I knew I needed to take the
class it would look better on college applications and would get me a better idea how a college
class would be, so I would be ready for next year. Something I have learned so far in my English
1101 class, to always read your paper two or three times because you could always miss a mistake
that could make or break your grade peer editing is so important. There has been some
challenges throughout the semester my biggest thing has been in my papers I have had many
run on sentences that I had no idea to fix. If my teacher didn t teach me how to check for it. My
papers have improved a lot since I have seen the actual mistakes that I have made because I
never had a teacher that peer edited and then showed me how to fix, I never knew how to fix it
until now. I plan to improve on my organization in my papers because sometimes I get off track i
ll be talking about something then go straight to a complete different topic. I m hoping I will
improve on that by the end of the year. I plan to improve on many other things in my papers, I

Reversal Of Revenge In Medea
Throughout the play we see a rising culmination of emotions of anger and hate to the point where
there is an anticlimactic resolution when Medea gets revenge on Jason. If Aristotle were to
comment on this so called tragedy that Euripedes wrote, he would mention that this play does not
contain the complexity and quality that a tragedymost definitely needs. According to Aristotle, the
most important part of a tragedy is its plot or as Aristotle puts it, the imitation of an action or
mimesis. Aristotle also states that in making a tragedy, three things must lead one after the other in
a successive way; reversal of intention (peripetiea), recognition (anagnorisis) and the cleansing of
pity and fear (catharsis). Euripedes fails to make Medea a tragedy as he does not include these
main elements such as hermatia, peripeteia, anagnorisis and catharsis that Aristotle says make a
tragedy successful. Euripedes ultimately fails to make a very complex play.
The peripeteia or the reversal of intention, which according to Aristotle is the first element that
should come in a tragedy, in Medea is absent or seldom occurs in the play as Medea is well
determined in her motives from the very beginning to take revenge on Jason. From the very
beginning of the play where Medea learns that her husband, Jason, has ... Show more content on

He literally writes that she is realizing the wrong her husband does her. Though there is no
Peripeteia that precedes this anagnorisis which is usually the case in a tragedy, as Aristotle notes,
it still is the turning point of the play and the time in which Medea becomes a dangerous and vile
woman who will again get revenge because of her love and passion for Jason. But from this point
on, Medea s plan never changes. She never passes from ignorance to knowledge. As we see again
in the conversation with Creon, she continues to carry out her revenge against Jason as she

The Old Man And The Sea By Ernest Hemingway Analysis
Ernest Hemingway is considered an astounding author of his time. He wrote during the early to
mid 20th century, and he has published many works that are considered classics of American
literature. During his literary career, Hemingway experienced almost a decade without
publishing a successful major literary work (History.com). During this time, his last successful
work, For Whom the Bell Tolls, was published in 1940, and Across the River and Into the Trees,
which was not received well by critics, was released in 1950. After Across the River and Into the
Trees was published, reviewers thought he was through as a writer. Hemingway wrote The Old
Man and the Seato prove himself as an author by reflecting upon his life. Hemingway reflects on
his isolation during this time in which he did not produce any critically acclaimed works of writing.
Before the rising action occurs, the reader learns that Santiago s wife passed away. He used to
have a photo of her in his home but he had taken it down because it made him too lonely to see it
(16). Along with the loneliness that came from the passing of his wife, the old man is alone on this
long journey to restore his good luck. His only aide is the boy, Manolin, who is no longer allowed
to fish with Santiago. While on his boat, pondering his decisions, Santiago states I wish I had the
boy (45). He does this several times throughout the course of his journey. Similar to the old man,

Migraines Essay
Migraine headaches are the result of a disturbance in the neurochemistry of the central nervous
system. They are relatively common, affecting three times as many women as men. Migraine
sufferers typically report a definite pattern to their headaches, and they can report what stimuli bring
them on. Most migraine sufferersexperience their first attack before the age of 20. There is no
single cause of migraines, but the tendency to get migraines does tend to run in families. When a
migraine occurs, it means that something has altered several of the neurotransmitter sensitive
receptors located on the outside surface of the nerve cells (neurons) so that the nervous system is

Scientists suspect that a caffeine withdrawal could be the possible cause of common migraines.
Why? Well, caffeine is a powerful psychoactive drug that is addictive. Caffeine withdrawals
produce all the same symptoms as migraine. Chronic caffeine use causes a number of changes to
the central nervous system. Caffeine use increases the number of some types of serotonin receptors
and some types of adenosine receptors as well.
Adenosine is another neurotransmitter; adenosine strongly inhibits serotonin release. Chronic
caffeine use increases the number of adenosine receptors.(The body is trying to compensate for the
constant presence of caffeine, which occupies and blockades adenosine receptors and thus
interferes with adenosine reception.) When caffeine is withdrawn, however, the chronic caffeine
user is left with too many adenosine receptors. Having too many adenosine receptors is equivalent
to having too much adenosine. As a result, serotonin release is inhibited and this leads to migraine
symptoms.
As you know there are many drugs used against migraine. Many of these drugs contain caffeine, for
good reason: caffeine relieves migraine by reversing caffeine withdrawal. Migraine drugs that
contain caffeine include Fiorinal (40mg caffeine), Fioricet (40mg caffeine), Excedrin (65mg
caffeine), Anacin (32mg caffeine), Cafergot, Norgesic Forte (60mg caffeine), and others.

Chile And The Us Banking Industry
The present working paper is referred to the analysis of some financial benefits that banking
institutions would be receiving as Too Big to Fail (TBTF) banks. The request is whether those
institutions are constantly subsided from governments or it is merely a hypothetical idea. For those
purposes, it is analyzed the Chilean banking industry to disclose the implicit subsidy in the South
American country. In order to answer the posited questions, first it is cited some similarities
between Chile and the US banking industry, and then how it evolved to this point after several
financial crises. Secondly, it is examined potential implicit guaranties of Chile s TBTF banks. In
that sense, it is analyzed the concentration and interconnection in Chile. Then, it is analyzed those
expected financial benefits that flow to the TBTF banks. Specifically, two of the likely financial
benefits. Primarily, the over the counter (OTC) derivatives, and then repurchases agreements in the
banking industry, especially in events of default, insolvency, and bankruptcy. Thirdly and lastly, it
is stated some remedies that I can propose to solve these issues, including the Subsidy Reserve Act,
as adapted for the Chilean banking industry, among others. As a result, policymakers, congressmen,
local and international organizations, and governments would be able to use this work for the
financial and banking reform. At the end, the purpose is bringing some balance between TBTF

feeling upset at the world, the patient, the Doctor etc.
Acceptance is the emotion that includes excepting the situation and remaining hopeful towards the

be wise to seek family therapy.
Someone in the family might volunteer to help during the difficult time. The effects of care giving

everything. Other family members and friends can assist with even the smallest situations.
Attempting to take on all the responsibilities can lead to burnout or even anger towards the person

The Importance Of Heat Waves In Southern California
Normal summer conditions in Southern California are dry, often with extreme heat and low

Cooling shelters include not only providing access to public cooling spaces, but also encouraging
the utilization of such resources by the homeless. Some cooling spaces include churches,
restaurants, shopping malls, and public libraries. Access to air conditioning can greatly decrease
heat related illnesses and deaths in the vulnerable populations (Eisenman, 2016). This is critical
because there is an association between increase in temperature and cardiovascular mortality
(Eisenman, 2016). This published study showed a negative relationship between heat related
mortality and access to cooling shelters.
It is part of public health nursing to promote prevention. Prevention is essential to prevent heat
illnesses and deaths. Although heat waves cannot be prevented, they can be predicted. Because of
their predictability, their impact on society can be lessesned. It is important to educate the
population regarding ways to protect themselves and prevent themselves during heat waves.
Based on the research provided, it is obvious that the physical health of homeless individuals is
considered a public health issue. With this in mind, the community project was created to provide

Analysis Of Phaedo By Socrates
In Phaedo by Plato, Socrates gives an account of what Beauty is. Socrates states if there is anything
beautiful besides the Beautiful itself, it is beautiful for no other reason than that it shares in that

Beautiful, just as he believes in one true Good that are included in the one true Knowledge. To find
true Knowledge the body and soul must be separated which can be inferred that true Knowledge
and it s full understanding will only happen after death. Socratesbelieved that you could only

(BIG). The purpose of this group is to find a way to exist in this industry, while making profits and
achieving objectives. The objective is to process the idea as a resource and transform a valuable
product into a highly profitable business (Economies of scales). According to Collins, The basic

Companies outsourcing their unsolicited ideas to BIG. These companies did not have the time or
staff to seek out potential good ideas. (Linkage)
BIG draws on their existing knowledge on what the idea buying companies are looking for in a

The Theme Of Social Class And Order
The Underlying Theme of Social Class and Order
In literature, themes are carefully interwoven with other aspects of the story and are slowly
unraveled as the plot advances to reveal to bigger picture. Authors use themes as a method to
connect with their audience on a personal and relatable level. Each individual interprets the theme
in their own manner depending on the past experiences they have had. Similarly, each author brings
a sense of individuality and authenticity to their works, impacting their subject matter and area of
focus, in this case specifically the theme. The Time Machine by H.G. Wells is a science fiction

An author s background is a prime factor in the subject of a book. H.G. Wells humble upbringing
and political beliefs can easily be discerned through the writing. Wells grew up in poverty during
the late 19th century in Kent, Great Britain, causing him to become interested in class conflict. His
socialist views come across in The Time Machine as it is his way to show the consequences of
excessive capitalism, thus the theme of social class and order emerges. Wells uses evolution as a
form to vindicate and reason the extreme schism of classes present in the book. The Time
Traveller, which seems to be an extension of Wells persona, implies the exclusive tendency of
richer people [...] and the widening gulf between them and the rude violence of the poor was a
key factor in the splitting of the human species along class lines, a direct hit on capitalism
(Wells 62). The Elois or the Haves , live aboveground the in comforts of their realm, while the
Morlocks or the Have Nots reside underground, as a result of the [continual adaptation] to their

focused on beauty and comfort, and are content on living upon the labours of fellowman , while the
Morlocks assumed the role of the worker, relying on instinct and primitive desires (Wells

There Is No Magic For Good Legal Research
There is no magic to good legal research. There is no specific one way to research effectively. The
key is simply being knowledgeable enough about the sources so that that one can use them to locate
the relevant law efficiently and effectively.
Before beginning research, one needs to spend time brainstorming the problem. Reading the facts,
ascertaining the subject matter, and noting the preliminary issues to be researched are the basic
things to be done.
To begin with a legal research first the identification of method and type of legal study is
necessary. Then the material for research is necessary. The research material must relevant and as

Research is the systematic process of collecting and analyzing information to increase our
understanding of the phenomenon under study.2 We can say that:
Research is what we do when we have a question or a problem we want to resolve
It seems like we already know the answer to the questions
We may think that the answer is obvious and even common sense
But until we have analysed our problem to some scientific research, our knowledge remains little
more than guesswork only. For a broader view the terms of research can be seen as:
R : Rational way of thinking
E : Expert and exhaustive treatment
S : Search and solution
E : Exactness

Fallacies Examples
According to the text, The Power of Critical Thinking, by Louis Vaughn, a fallacy is defined as,
An argument form that is both common and defective; a recurring mistake in reasoning
(Vaughn, 561). Fallacies can be found in many places whether it is in the media, the workplace,
or around your peers. Some fallacies contain the truth while others at a time can be false or
misleading. It is essential to be able to identify fallacies because they can be used in many ways,
some good some bad. Fallacies are used every day, whether it is to influence someone s opinion to
agree with one side of an argumentrather than the other or to draw in others by appealing to their
emotions or authority. Today, I will be discussing three important fallacies and give examples of
each. These fallacies include Genetic Fallacy, Ad Hominem, and Appeal to Tradition.
As stated by Vaughn, a Genetic Fallacy is the fallacy of arguing that a claim is true or false
solely because of its abstract or nonhuman origins (Vaughn, 561). Instead of looking into what
someone is actually implying is valid, the source gets attacked. It does not matter whether it is an
organization or a single person their reasoning is being invalidated simply because of their origin.
What is being argued is skipped and just one look is taken at the source and they are told they are
wrong. For example, in school, you were taught that five plus five equals ten but at home, you were
taught that five plus five equals twenty five.

of the church, he refused to allow any changes to be made in its doctrines. Before his divorce he
had opposed the teachings of Martin Luther in a book that had gained for him from the pope the
title Defender of the Faith a title the monarch of England still bears. After the separation from
Rome he persecuted with equal severity the Catholics who adhered to the government of Rome
and the Protestants who rejected its doctrines. Henry was married six times. Anne Boleyn bore
the king one child, who became Elizabeth I. Henry soon tired of Anne and had her put to death.
A few days later he married a third wife, Jane Seymour. She died in a little more than a year, after
having given birth to the future Edward VI. A marriage was then contracted with a German
princess, Anne of Cleves, whom the king had been led to believe to be very beautiful. When he
saw her he discovered that he had been tricked, and he promptly divorced this wife and beheaded
Thomas Cromwell, the minister who had arranged the marriage. Henry s fifth wife, Catherine
Howard, was sent to the block for misconduct. In 1543 he married his sixth wife, the tactful and
pious Catherine Parr. Catherine, who survived Henry, lived to marry her fourth husband. During

Preparation Of Scarification And Stratification
Started this experiment on February 25th and we gathered all our results on May 3rd 2016.
When we started we tested Redbuds in 4 treatments and tested Peaches in 3 treatments. For the
Redbuds, we did a control group with nothing but wrapping it with a paper towel and storing it
into a Ziploc bag. Then we soaked redbuds in sulfuric acid without promix, and soaked them with
sulfuric acid with promix (not moist), and then for the last lot we wrapped redbuds with moist
promix. For peaches we also had a control group with just storing them in a Ziploc bag, and for
the second lot we placed that seeds in moist promix in a cooler. Finally, for the third lot we
soaked the seeds in water for a week and added moist promix and then placed in the cooler. As a
result, to this experiment of scarification and stratification we have seen that lot 3 for Redbuds
(scarification) germinated 16/40, which is a good amount of germination. For stratification with the
peaches only lot 2 germinated 1/20 which was more than the other lots.
Introduction:
Scarification in botany involves weakening, opening, or otherwise altering the coat of a seed to
encourage germination. Scarification is often done mechanically, thermally, and chemically. The
seeds of many plant species are often impervious to water and gases, thus preventing or delaying
germination. Any process designed to make the testa (seed coat) more permeable to water and
gases (and thus more likely to germinate) is known as scarification.

Nintendo Chapter 1 Summary
What would it be like to wake up inside a linear world where turtles, mushrooms, princesses,
dinosaurs, and a little mustached Italian plumber are caught in a deadly fight for their lives? The
makers of Nintendo made this possible through the game of Super Mario Bros . In the late 1980s
and through the 1990s, Nintendowas a major contender for taking over the technological age. As
one of the biggest gaming console makers, Nintendo has supplied children all over the world with
the opportunity to escape into a world other than their own, without them having to leave the
comfort of their own home. I chose this book because I was one of those children and Nintendo
has always been a part of my life.

The Untimely Meditations Of 19th Century Germany
Contrarily to Lear, Nietzsche clearly underlines that the failure to become ourselves has not
simply to do with whether we live up to our ideals, but also with the fact that our ideals are bad
ones. Accordingly, these stand as obstacles to our way to achieve sagehood. Hence, in the first of
the Untimely Meditations Nietzsche does not criticize the cultural philistine of 19th century
Germany simply because he fail to be a man of culture . Indeed, the roots of Nietzsche s argument
lie in the fact that the cultural philistine s representation of life as a fully achieved man of culture
is wrong , insofar as it renders him unable to be in contact with all creative there is, and therefore is
cut off from the possbility of developing true culture.

Effect Of The Witches In Macbeth
How do the witches affect the actions of Macbeth?
Macduff enters Holding Macbeth s Lifeless head. Hail King of Scotland! , Cheer the people.
How did it get to this? How did a soft hearted and honest noble like Macbeth get into this position?
The quick and easy answer is that it was the work of the three witches.
At the beginning of the play, the three witches gave Macbeth and Banquo prophecies; Macbeth will
be king, thane of Cawdor, and be thane of Glamis. They also said that Banquo s sons will be kings.
At first, Macbeth didn t think much about what the witches said until the first prophecy came true;
Macbeth was awarded Thane of Cawdor. After that Macbeth was sure that the witches were telling
the truth. He knew that he would one day ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the apparitions told Macbeth to be bold, violent and laugh at men because no man born
from women would kill Macbeth. Be bloody, bold, and resolute. Laugh to scorn the power of man,
for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth (4.1.81 83). Another one told Macbeth that he wouldn
t be defeated until Birnam Wood comes to fight him at Dunsinane Hill Be lion mettled, proud, and
take no care Who chafes, who frets, or where conspirers are. Macbeth shall never vanquish be until
Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill Shall come against him.
All these predictions made Macbeth very confident in himself. No man born from a woman
would kill him and for the woods of Great Birnam To come to Dunsinane Hill was almost
impossible, Or so he thought. He was motivated to be violent and bold in his actions. He killed
Macduff s wife and children and stayed to fight Macduff when Edward s army marched to
Dunsinane Hill with branches of Great Birnam. Since no man born of a woman could ever harm
him, Macbeth thought that he would be able to defeat Macduff. For example, when he killed
Young Siward Macbeth didn t even feel accomplished because he believed that he would never
lose a battle to a man and that he wouldn t be defeated until Birnam Wood moves to Dunsinane

Early College High School Initiative Case Study
Success in a typical high school setting could be defined as working through four years of classes,
completing homework, activities, projects, and tests, and culminating with a walk across a
graduation stage to receive a High School Diploma. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation had a
different and more challenging idea for high schools when they developed the Early CollegeHigh
SchoolInitiative. This Initiative was a collaborative effort between their Foundation, Jobs for the
Future and several other partner organizations. The goal was to create schools where challenge, not

LCECHS maintained the core principles developed by the Early College High School Initiative, as
indicated by the mission statement on their website (reference lcechs website):
The Early College High School will genuinely engage first generation college bound students to
complete a rigorous curriculum, supported by technology, that is clearly aligned to student interest
and state standards. Flexible coursework will be provided in a challenging and supportive
environment with an applied learning focus that provides students a structure that enables them to
earn their high school diploma and to overlap those efforts with those needed to earn an associate
degree, leading to a bachelor degree and employment.
The educators at LCECHS all work towards the same goal by challenging students in the high
school classroom to promote their success with college and beyond. LCECHS defines the success
of their students when, after four years completing a combination of high school and college
courses, they walk across the graduation stage for their High School Diploma and also walk across
another graduation stage for their Associates Degree

British Towns And Cities Overcrowded
British towns and cities were overcrowded. Population began increasing due to more people
moving in. As businesses began to boom and the national markets grew, more people from the
countryside flocked to the towns and the new factories because they wanted jobs. Small towns
became large cities and the cityof London grew from a population of 2 million in 1840 to 5 million
forty years later. This resulted in more people in a country (Great Britain) living in cities than in
rural areas like never before. Houses were tiny and densely packed because as new towns and
cities began to rapidly develop, the need for housing escalated. In a rush to build the houses,
many were constructed too quickly in rows and often back to back every scrap of space left by
the old way of building has been filled up and patched over until not a foot of land is left to be
further occupied . And if houses being really close together externally wasn t enough, they were
also very crowded internally as a result of the fast increase in population. Five to Nine people
lived in a small one storied, one roomed hut which was as big as an apartment and families had to
share the tight space with other families or even complete strangers.
British towns and cities were poor. Workers were not paid much at all for almost a whole day of
work. As factories were being built, businesses were in need of workers and with a long line of
people willing to work, employers could set wages as low as they wanted because

L. A. Confidential Theme
Focus On L.A. Confidential
L.A. Confidential is a gorgeous, but tough throwback that did right things to Hollywood. Despite
the film breaking most of today s filmmaking rules, it is considered as one film that will keep the
audience glued on the screen. The film cited its origin from James Elroy s nearly impossible to film
cult novel. The film raises stars with three main characters. The film embroils the three characters in
a vigorously surprising tale, which puts them in a clichГ© free true mystery. The movie brings out
the true mystery rather that the thriller revealing all the endless complications.
L.A. Confidential comes out with a full expanse of 1950s Los Angeles, a film noir paradise of
knee weakening glamor and smoldering evilly blended together with little dirty secret. The main
theme the film focuses on is the form of corruption that has deep roots in the town. Wish fulfilling
whores, drugs, mobsters and brutally racist cops resemble the movie stars. The actors all have the
ambition of dragging the movie to the gutter; the films reach its best in terms of achievement.

Currently, the company offers three technological devices specifically tablets under the names X5,

However, at 2015, the product will have reached shakeout stage, and it will have increasingly
declining new customers. When the price is lowered to $420, and R D for the product lowered
to 25% then, the tablet will perform better than its competitors in the market. At this time, the
total sales will be 1, 371, 992 in 2012, and 2, 316, 675 in 2013. However, according to SLP 3 that
would mean that the company would have to reduce the production volume to achieve default
run profitability. On the other hand, if the company increases the cost of X6 tablet to $450 and
R D to 40% it would mean that the customers pay the same for the tablet as they pay for other
competing tablets in the market. In that case, it would call for a decision on the side of the
customer based on their loyalty for them to purchase the tablet. In so doing, the organization
will register a sale volume of $1, 854, 036 in 2014 and $2, 337, 247 in 2015. If the company will
increase the price further to $470 and increase R D to 45%, then tablet X6 will be less expensive
for customers to buy than competing tablets. With that change, the company will make sales of
2, 337, 247 in 2014 and 1, 180 751 in 2015. The reason for the decline will be because the product
will have reached the shakeout stage where the number of new customers will progressively
decline (Calvin, 2002). Following the analysis above, the best strategy for tablet X6 is to increase
the price to $450 and R D to 40% for between 2012 and

The cast featured Clint Eastwood as Walt Kowalski, a white, Korean War veteran who is very

Christopher Carley as Father Janovich, the priest with whom Walt s wife was very close, Sonny

and the leader of the Hmong gang. The movie is set in current day Detroit, Michigan and does a

has in society. The target audience of the movie is anyone over the age of 17 anywhere in the world.

In the final scenes he buys a nice suit, locks Thao in his basement, and goes to confession. At
confession he admits that he was a bad dad but does not mention anything about what he had
done in the war. His inability to admit to his actions during the war can show that Walt either
does not regret what he has done or that he may view his plan to give up his life to save Thao as
a redemption for his sins during the war. After the confession Father Janovich is worried that
Walt is going to do something to the gang, so he gathers up two police men and heads to the
neighborhood where the gang resides. They wait for a long time and finally leave because many
hours had passed and Walt was still not there. When Walt arrives at house of the gang he has
already decided what he wanted to do. He is confronting the gang and talks very loud in order to
draw attention to himself. As he is reaching for his lighter he begins to say the Hail Mary and
the gang members shoot at him. He falls to the ground in a holy way. I believe that this scene
shows that giving up your life for others is the ultimate form of redemption. It turns out that he
left Thao his Gran Torino and he gave his house to the church and left nothing to his family. Walt
s action of giving his life to keep the Lors safe can be viewed as him emulating the savior

Early Onset Anorexia Essays
Early Onset Anorexia
In recent years, it seems that the public has begun to pay more attention to eating disorders. This
trend could be a consequence of the heightened nutrition and fitness craze that the 1990 s has
brought about, or possibly a result of more intense and conclusive research studies. More clearly
defined definitions of anorexia and bulimia in the DSM IV may also have contributed to better
diagnosis of eating disorders.
Anorexia nervosa is a disorder that in the majority of cases will start when the patient is a

Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death by Patrick Henry
Henry s Speech Was a Call to Action. What Did He Want His Fellow Virginians To Do? What
Were His Justifications For The Proposed Action? How Did Henry Address The Concerns Of
Those Who Did Not Agree With Him?
At the Second Virginia Convention held on 23rd March, 1775 in St. John s Church, Richmond
Virginia, Patrick Henry stood and addressed his fellow delegates regarding the defense and arming
of Virginia State.[1] While some delegated supported the reconciliation with... Show more content

Through the use of the image of slavery, Henry managed to paint a clear picture of how the
situation was, therefore, making it easier for him to emphasize the need for America s
independence. Also, Henry uses a change in the volume of his voice in his video speech to
appeal to the emotions of his fellow delegates. Henry begins his speech in a normal tone of voice,
but throughout the video, his voice gradually gets louder with time, and in the end, he shouts his
concluding line, give me liberty, or give me death! [4] This gradual volume change in Henry s
voice enabled him to appeal to the feelings of his audience effectively, and eventually emphasize on
his message of fighting for liberty.
At the beginning of Henry s speech, he was aware of the fact that not every delegate supported
his idea of fighting British rule; some wanted America to make peace and reconciliation with
Britain. He politely acknowledged different men often see the same subject in different lights [5]
and that his aim was to express his sentiments unreservedly regarding the debate on whether
Americans should fight for their freedom or remain enslaved by the British rule. Henry hoped his
fellow delegates would not see his sentiments as disrespectful. He also told his audience that they
had a responsibility towards America and God to seek the truth and that if he held back his
opinions for fear of offending others; he would be

Communication Is The Greatest Asset Of Civilization
Communication is the greatest asset of civilization. It is through our ability to understand and
convey thoughts that we are able to cooperate for the good of our community, whether it be local
or global. Because communication holds so much power it must also be used with care. If used
unwisely, communication has the ability to destroy relationships and make cooperation impossible.
The six barriers of communication will be discussed in the following paragraphs and they are
clichГ©, jargon, slang, sexist and racist language, euphemisms, and doublespeak. ClichГ© is
what happens when a saying that once held great power has fallen into disuse. Due to repetition
all great sayings tend to lose their luster, just as a joke is hardly ever as funny as the first time it
was heard. One example of this is you ll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Though
there may be a valuable point here it is often lost because no one wants to catch flies and most
people are too caught up on the strangeness of the saying to truly consider the wisdom of its
message. Jargon is the language of academia or other groups that use vocabulary that is specific
to their particular area of expertise. The vast majority of the population are unfamiliar with this
range of vocabulary. Some people may try to use it in an attempt to sound more intelligent to lay
folk, though they will only manage to insult such an audience and possibly inspire hatred or
loathing. Medicine is a good example of where

Early American Ice Age The early Americans came to America in search of food Ice Ages have extremely cold temperatures they make massive ice sheets or glaciers over the planet and for that extremely cold temperature the sea levels were much lower. Since, the sea levels were so low there was massive areas of land. That land is called Beringia. It s a land bridge that is connecting Siberia which is in Asia to Alaska that is in North America. Not long ago when the Europeans arrived in America they had found that Native Americans were living there. The Europeans had thought that the Native Americans had came from a mythical island called Atlantis. To illustrate Nomads gathered wild grains and mostly relied on hunting for animals. When the Nomads were in search of food they had crossed the Beringia. The recent Ice Age was 100,000 years ago and had ended 12,000 years ago. When the Ice Age ended the Ice sheets had melted so the sea level had leveled out and Beringia had disappeared. Now the Beringia lies under the Bering Strait. • 4. Trailer Video Analysis In my movie trailer video I used pictures from shutterstock and google images, the music I used is off on the wevideo site I used. I chose upbeat music at first to represent that in the book everything is normal and happy at first. Then I used more sad and suspenseful music, because in the book you don t know what s going to happen next. In my video I included a lot of pictures of Sam with her friends, because that s is one of the main elements of her is that she is always surrounded by her friends. The mood conveyed in the trailer is suspenseful. I tried to make it suspenseful because in the book it is hard to tell what s going to happen next so it is suspenseful. To make it suspenseful I changed the music to a sad and slower pace song. I also sped up some images and the ones I wanted the watcher to really think about I slowed down. That is how I tried to make the mood in my... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I showed these themes by showing a lot of pictures of Sam and her friends and then the event that something bad happened to them. Then for the next theme I explained it more in words about how Sam has to risk it all to save her life. The two symbols were the snow and friends. In the book the snow changed a lot of the outcomes with the accident. With Sam s friends they changed a lot of the outcomes as well. This being said it is clear I chose symbols that changed the path that the story went in and those symbols were mainly the reason why. The main character is Sam Kingston, this is the only character named in my trailer. Throughout the story it is mostly just her making decisions on her own. For Sam this is hard and the end of the book relies on her. So in my trailer I made it seem the book was really just about her and her choices because it mostly is. Also this makes it seem more suspenseful and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay On Self Analysis Paper Self Analysis My junior year I was pretty nervous hearing the word college class, worrying that it was going to be harder than any other english class I would of been able to take. But I knew I needed to take the class it would look better on college applications and would get me a better idea how a college class would be, so I would be ready for next year. Something I have learned so far in my English 1101 class, to always read your paper two or three times because you could always miss a mistake that could make or break your grade peer editing is so important. There has been some challenges throughout the semester my biggest thing has been in my papers I have had many run on sentences that I had no idea to fix. If my teacher didn t teach me how to check for it. My papers have improved a lot since I have seen the actual mistakes that I have made because I never had a teacher that peer edited and then showed me how to fix, I never knew how to fix it until now. I plan to improve on my organization in my papers because sometimes I get off track i ll be talking about something then go straight to a complete different topic. I m hoping I will improve on that by the end of the year. I plan to improve on many other things in my papers, I know that I have a teacher that will help with my papers. ... • 6. Reversal Of Revenge In Medea Throughout the play we see a rising culmination of emotions of anger and hate to the point where there is an anticlimactic resolution when Medea gets revenge on Jason. If Aristotle were to comment on this so called tragedy that Euripedes wrote, he would mention that this play does not contain the complexity and quality that a tragedymost definitely needs. According to Aristotle, the most important part of a tragedy is its plot or as Aristotle puts it, the imitation of an action or mimesis. Aristotle also states that in making a tragedy, three things must lead one after the other in a successive way; reversal of intention (peripetiea), recognition (anagnorisis) and the cleansing of pity and fear (catharsis). Euripedes fails to make Medea a tragedy as he does not include these main elements such as hermatia, peripeteia, anagnorisis and catharsis that Aristotle says make a tragedy successful. Euripedes ultimately fails to make a very complex play. The peripeteia or the reversal of intention, which according to Aristotle is the first element that should come in a tragedy, in Medea is absent or seldom occurs in the play as Medea is well determined in her motives from the very beginning to take revenge on Jason. From the very beginning of the play where Medea learns that her husband, Jason, has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He literally writes that she is realizing the wrong her husband does her. Though there is no Peripeteia that precedes this anagnorisis which is usually the case in a tragedy, as Aristotle notes, it still is the turning point of the play and the time in which Medea becomes a dangerous and vile woman who will again get revenge because of her love and passion for Jason. But from this point on, Medea s plan never changes. She never passes from ignorance to knowledge. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scientists suspect that a caffeine withdrawal could be the possible cause of common migraines. Why? Well, caffeine is a powerful psychoactive drug that is addictive. Caffeine withdrawals produce all the same symptoms as migraine. Chronic caffeine use causes a number of changes to the central nervous system. Caffeine use increases the number of some types of serotonin receptors and some types of adenosine receptors as well. Adenosine is another neurotransmitter; adenosine strongly inhibits serotonin release. Chronic caffeine use increases the number of adenosine receptors.(The body is trying to compensate for the constant presence of caffeine, which occupies and blockades adenosine receptors and thus interferes with adenosine reception.) When caffeine is withdrawn, however, the chronic caffeine user is left with too many adenosine receptors. Having too many adenosine receptors is equivalent to having too much adenosine. As a result, serotonin release is inhibited and this leads to migraine symptoms. As you know there are many drugs used against migraine. Many of these drugs contain caffeine, for good reason: caffeine relieves migraine by reversing caffeine withdrawal. Migraine drugs that contain caffeine include Fiorinal (40mg caffeine), Fioricet (40mg caffeine), Excedrin (65mg caffeine), Anacin (32mg caffeine), Cafergot, Norgesic Forte (60mg caffeine), and others. Fallacies Examples According to the text, The Power of Critical Thinking, by Louis Vaughn, a fallacy is defined as, An argument form that is both common and defective; a recurring mistake in reasoning (Vaughn, 561). Fallacies can be found in many places whether it is in the media, the workplace, or around your peers. Some fallacies contain the truth while others at a time can be false or misleading. It is essential to be able to identify fallacies because they can be used in many ways, some good some bad. Fallacies are used every day, whether it is to influence someone s opinion to agree with one side of an argumentrather than the other or to draw in others by appealing to their emotions or authority. Today, I will be discussing three important fallacies and give examples of each. These fallacies include Genetic Fallacy, Ad Hominem, and Appeal to Tradition. As stated by Vaughn, a Genetic Fallacy is the fallacy of arguing that a claim is true or false solely because of its abstract or nonhuman origins (Vaughn, 561). Instead of looking into what someone is actually implying is valid, the source gets attacked. It does not matter whether it is an organization or a single person their reasoning is being invalidated simply because of their origin. • 28. British Towns And Cities Overcrowded British towns and cities were overcrowded. Population began increasing due to more people moving in. As businesses began to boom and the national markets grew, more people from the countryside flocked to the towns and the new factories because they wanted jobs. Small towns became large cities and the cityof London grew from a population of 2 million in 1840 to 5 million forty years later. This resulted in more people in a country (Great Britain) living in cities than in rural areas like never before. Houses were tiny and densely packed because as new towns and cities began to rapidly develop, the need for housing escalated. In a rush to build the houses, many were constructed too quickly in rows and often back to back every scrap of space left by the old way of building has been filled up and patched over until not a foot of land is left to be further occupied . And if houses being really close together externally wasn t enough, they were also very crowded internally as a result of the fast increase in population. Five to Nine people lived in a small one storied, one roomed hut which was as big as an apartment and families had to share the tight space with other families or even complete strangers. British towns and cities were poor. Workers were not paid much at all for almost a whole day of work. As factories were being built, businesses were in need of workers and with a long line of people willing to work, employers could set wages as low as they wanted because ... Despite the film breaking most of today s filmmaking rules, it is considered as one film that will keep the audience glued on the screen. When the price is lowered to $420, and R D for the product lowered to 25% then, the tablet will perform better than its competitors in the market. At this time, the total sales will be 1, 371, 992 in 2012, and 2, 316, 675 in 2013. However, according to SLP 3 that would mean that the company would have to reduce the production volume to achieve default run profitability. On the other hand, if the company increases the cost of X6 tablet to $450 and R D to 40% it would mean that the customers pay the same for the tablet as they pay for other competing tablets in the market. In that case, it would call for a decision on the side of the customer based on their loyalty for them to purchase the tablet. In so doing, the organization will register a sale volume of $1, 854, 036 in 2014 and $2, 337, 247 in 2015. If the company will increase the price further to $470 and increase R D to 45%, then tablet X6 will be less expensive for customers to buy than competing tablets. With that change, the company will make sales of 2, 337, 247 in 2014 and 1, 180 751 in 2015. The reason for the decline will be because the product will have reached the shakeout stage where the number of new customers will progressively decline (Calvin, 2002). In the final scenes he buys a nice suit, locks Thao in his basement, and goes to confession. At confession he admits that he was a bad dad but does not mention anything about what he had done in the war. His inability to admit to his actions during the war can show that Walt either does not regret what he has done or that he may view his plan to give up his life to save Thao as a redemption for his sins during the war. After the confession Father Janovich is worried that Walt is going to do something to the gang, so he gathers up two police men and heads to the neighborhood where the gang resides. They wait for a long time and finally leave because many hours had passed and Walt was still not there. When Walt arrives at house of the gang he has already decided what he wanted to do. He is confronting the gang and talks very loud in order to draw attention to himself. As he is reaching for his lighter he begins to say the Hail Mary and the gang members shoot at him. He falls to the ground in a holy way. I believe that this scene shows that giving up your life for others is the ultimate form of redemption. It turns out that he left Thao his Gran Torino and he gave his house to the church and left nothing to his family. Walt s action of giving his life to keep the Lors safe can be viewed as him emulating the savior complex that some may believe that he has or it can show the selflessness that can come from overcoming racism by giving his life for those that he cares about regardless of their ... Through the use of the image of slavery, Henry managed to paint a clear picture of how the situation was, therefore, making it easier for him to emphasize the need for America s independence. Also, Henry uses a change in the volume of his voice in his video speech to appeal to the emotions of his fellow delegates. Henry begins his speech in a normal tone of voice, but throughout the video, his voice gradually gets louder with time, and in the end, he shouts his concluding line, give me liberty, or give me death! [4] This gradual volume change in Henry s voice enabled him to appeal to the feelings of his audience effectively, and eventually emphasize on his message of fighting for liberty. At the beginning of Henry s speech, he was aware of the fact that not every delegate supported his idea of fighting British rule; some wanted America to make peace and reconciliation with Britain. He politely acknowledged different men often see the same subject in different lights [5] and that his aim was to express his sentiments unreservedly regarding the debate on whether Americans should fight for their freedom or remain enslaved by the British rule. • 41. Communication Is The Greatest Asset Of Civilization Communication is the greatest asset of civilization. It is through our ability to understand and convey thoughts that we are able to cooperate for the good of our community, whether it be local or global. Because communication holds so much power it must also be used with care. If used unwisely, communication has the ability to destroy relationships and make cooperation impossible. The six barriers of communication will be discussed in the following paragraphs and they are clichГ©, jargon, slang, sexist and racist language, euphemisms, and doublespeak. ClichГ© is what happens when a saying that once held great power has fallen into disuse. Due to repetition all great sayings tend to lose their luster, just as a joke is hardly ever as funny as the first time it was heard. One example of this is you ll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Though there may be a valuable point here it is often lost because no one wants to catch flies and most people are too caught up on the strangeness of the saying to truly consider the wisdom of its message. Jargon is the language of academia or other groups that use vocabulary that is specific to their particular area of expertise. The vast majority of the population are unfamiliar with this range of vocabulary. Some people may try to use it in an attempt to sound more intelligent to lay folk, though they will only manage to insult such an audience and possibly inspire hatred or loathing.
