July 20th 2010 on virgin media cable television platform.
In order to make the public of the channels re-launch film four going free, they launched a huge
campaign directed by Kevin Spacey featuring well-known celebrities who advertised in odd ways.
The slogan of the campaign was “Films for free”. An example of the way they advertised was when
Judi Dench wore a red lobster costume (connotation the colour of the logo) and sung the words ‘film
four’. Also Ewan McGregor wore a tomato costume; Rhys Ifans advertised the channel by knocking
on doors and explaining to individuals.
