Dale Chihuly was a pioneering American glass artist who established the first glass program at the University of Wisconsin and later taught glass art at the Rhode Island School of Design for over 10 years. Some of his most famous works include the Cylinders, Baskets, Seaforms, and Persians series. Chihuly has received widespread recognition for his avant-garde glass sculptures and large-scale installations, with his work included in over 200 museum collections worldwide.

- 1. Telecommunications What is telecommunications? It is the branch of technology which deals with the transmission of information over great distances, through the radio, telephone or television. Pre activities Look at the sentences written on the board and in pairs infer the meaning of the words in blue. The government of Tanzania is constructing the National fibre backbone which is managed by the Tanzania Telecommunications Company Ltd on behalf of the government. Global Ethernet is the best solution for companies seeking to connect their offices across the world. My telepohone cannot connect with the company’s central office because the local loop has failed.

While -activities You will hear two people, Dave Wells, the telecom manager of an Oil company in London and Jerry Rigg, a geophysicist in charge of a small exploration team in West Africa having a telephone conversation.
