• Telegraph
History of Electronic
media starts with
Telegraph. It was
developed in the 1830s
and 1840s by Samuel
Morse.
Telephone
After the invention
of Telegraph then,
Telephone was
born. It was
invented by sir
Alexander Graham
Bell in 1876.
Radio
In 1895, a young
Italian named
Gugliemo Marconi
invented what he
called “the wireless
telegraph” while
experimenting in his
parents’ attic. He used
radio waves to
transmit Morse code
and the instrument he
used became known
as the radio
Television
Philo
Farnsworth,
was a American
inventor who
developed the first
all-electronic
Television System.
Definition of Electronic Media?
 Electronic media is a
category of media
through which one can
spread information or
communicate to a mass
with the help of
electronic devices and
digital means.
Purpose of Electronic Media
• The purpose of using Electronic
Media can be for many
reasons; one of the reasons is
that you can connect yourself
with entire world. Electronic
media is an efficient way to
communicate to one another,
either by the use of media
devices and networks or social
media sources such as
Television or the Internet these
are a few of the many ways you
can use Electronic Media to
your advantage.
Types of Electronic Media
Different Electronic media
types are famous now a
days and these are
below:
• Television
• Radio
• Internet.
TYPES OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA
Television
• A meaurable and accountable
mean of television is advertising .
• Television provides immediate
response.
• Television communicates with
sound, action, and color.
• It provides advertisements that
can promotes the information
about product or service
• Three types of advertisements:
• Comerical
• Political
• social

Radio
• Radio is the oldest form of
electronic media.
• Radio is a premier mass
medium for user and
advertisers.
• There are thousands of radio
stations across the world.
• Advertisements are the
frequent features on the radio.
• Radar, radio navigation,
remote sensing, are the
application of radio
communication
TYPES OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA
Internet
• Internet is the network of
networking that consists of
interconnected computer
network that used to
communicate between
network and device.
• Internet includes all social
media like : Facebook,
Skype, Instagram, Gmail,
Google, YouTube, Twitter
and many other wibsites
Advantages
• Easily accessible and distributable.
• Faster than Print media.
• We can see, listen and read, as well It is for
both literate and illiterate.
• It provides a wide range of info, entertainment
& knowledge.
• Greater opportunities you get through this
media sitting at your place, this is an
advantage of media.
Disadvantages
• It leads to individualism. People spend too much time
on the internet and watching television. As a result,
socialization with friends, family and neighbors is
affected.
• Some media contents are not suitable for children.
Limiting children’s access to such content can be
difficult.
• Newspaper is geographically selective.
• Increase in advertisements in television and radio is
making them less attractive
• Internet as a form of media opens up possibilities of
imposters, fraud and hacking.
Conclusion
Although media has many advantages it also
has its limits. It is up to us, the users, to
decide to use it wisely for the best impact.
