2. EMPLOYMENT/WORKING EXPERIENCE
Worked as Community safety Facilitator from June 2013 to date in West
Pokot ,Turkana and Karamoja region with Danish Demining Group Safety
Project.
Key responsibilities
Act as primary link between the assigned target communities and DRC
Responsible for assisting district authorities in target areas with selecting target
communities in accordance with DRC selection criteria and process;
Liaise with community leaders and local government authorities about the safety in
the assigned target communities (i.e. community entry);
Provide inputs and participate in the baseline study process
Facilitate community entry and Community Safety Planning processes in target
communities and ensure the representation and participation of all socio-economic
groups in the communities;
Facilitate awareness and dialogue activities aimed at reducing armed violence,
including:
Activities to strengthen local conflict management capacity;
Activities to change mind sets underlying conflict to mind sets committed to
peace, including community perceptions of small arms;
Activities to promote better collaboration between local communities and
formal security providers;
Monitor the implementation of the community safety plan by the assigned target
communities and support the communities to improve implementation;
Ensure good cooperation with partners and other organizations working in the
project target areas;
Ensure excellent collaboration with DRC staff and partners from other target
areas irrespective of their tribal identity;
Compile the required monitoring forms and reports using the prescribed DRC
formats and submit reports to the Community Safety Project Officer (CSPO) by
the end of each Month;
Provide inputs and participate in the development of community Safety Concept;
Ensure that all tasks allocated by the Community Safety Project Manager (CSPM)
or his delegate are executed promptly, efficiently and in accordance with DRC
operational guidelines;
Take good care of all assigned equipment including motorcycles, computers and
communication equipment;
3. Ensure that there are receipts for all expenses and compile all receipts according
to DRC’s financial guidelines by the end of each week financial reporting period and
submit to the CSPO;
Fully adhere to DRC procedures for security, financial management, logistics, human
resources and administration.
Worked as Biometric Clerk with IEBC in the Voter registration in November
2012 and became
Presiding Officer in 4th March 2013 General Election.
