Em consonância com os ODS – Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável e a Estratégia Global para a Saúde das Mulheres, Crianças e Adolescentes, e aplicando uma abordagem baseada nos direitos humanos, os esforços de cuidados pós-natais devem expandir-se para além da cobertura e da simples sobrevivência, de modo a incluir cuidados de qualidade.
Estas diretrizes visam melhorar a qualidade dos cuidados pós-natais essenciais e de rotina prestados às mulheres e aos recém-nascidos, com o objetivo final de melhorar a saúde e o bem-estar materno e neonatal.
Uma “experiência pós-natal positiva” é um resultado importante para todas as mulheres que dão à luz e para os seus recém-nascidos, estabelecendo as bases para a melhoria da saúde e do bem-estar a curto e longo prazo. Uma experiência pós-natal positiva é definida como aquela em que as mulheres, pessoas que gestam, os recém-nascidos, os casais, os pais, os cuidadores e as famílias recebem informação consistente, garantia e apoio de profissionais de saúde motivados; e onde um sistema de saúde flexível e com recursos reconheça as necessidades das mulheres e dos bebês e respeite o seu contexto cultural.
Estas diretrizes consolidadas apresentam algumas recomendações novas e já bem fundamentadas sobre cuidados pós-natais de rotina para mulheres e neonatos que recebem cuidados no pós-parto em unidades de saúde ou na comunidade, independentemente dos recursos disponíveis.
É fornecido um conjunto abrangente de recomendações para cuidados durante o período puerperal, com ênfase nos cuidados essenciais que todas as mulheres e recém-nascidos devem receber, e com a devida atenção à qualidade dos cuidados; isto é, a entrega e a experiência do cuidado recebido. Estas diretrizes atualizam e ampliam as recomendações da OMS de 2014 sobre cuidados pós-natais da mãe e do recém-nascido e complementam as atuais diretrizes da OMS sobre a gestão de complicações pós-natais.

My current plans following completion of my current studies are to continue in on in my
education.
As of this point in my career I am undecided as to the concentration I wish to advance in. The
list right now is long for the different fields I am interested in and I plan on posting at a later
date as the area I wish to concentrate my degree on becomes clearer to me.
Out of high school I went on to college and graduated as a Registered nurse. I have worked in
hospital settings as a nurse in pediatrics, oncology, labor and delivery, maternity, med-surg,
psychiatrics, cardiac step down and emergency room care. I have held positions of staff
nurse charge nurse, assistant head nurse and head nurse. I am currently working with
palliative care and provide nursing support for families. I have always had good rapports
with my patients and was able to communicate well with each of them. Many times I was
called in to talk to some distressed patients and calm them down or assist them with their
worries or problems. I have always loved psychology and have taken classes and seminars
through the years in dealing with people, communication, listening skills, and conflict and
resolution. When my children entered college I returned to college to peruse my degree in
psychology.
I am very active in my community where I have volunteered for the last 10 years in the many of
the local non-profit organizations. I have cheered and ran events such as golf tournaments,
casino nights, and children activities. I have organized CPR and first aid classes, and
physicals for the town I live in. I have been on numerous boards as treasurer for the swim
team, weightlifting team and football team for the local high school for the last 9 years. I
have also recently been involved with the girl scouts and local after school programs and
sports teams that my grandchildren attend and participate in.

4. Reflection
I learned in a psychological issue how to employ skeptical inquiry and scientific
approach. I was able to access information from a variety of sources and select
appropriate sources to respond to questions in a research hypothesis. I had
extreme exposure in finding research articles from scholarly journals that
identifies research design and statistical tools in those findings. I excelled in
learning about communications skills and effectively presented psychological
concepts orally to an audience. My written communications skill was effective in
presenting psychological information in writing using software and style that was
appropriate for any audiences. I do have a weakness in grammar. I was able to
identify the issues and challenges related to ethnics in the field of psychology. I
