A study was conducted at Cranford Community College to quantify food and general waste produced at lunchtime and breaks. Over the course of a year, it was estimated that 1080 bags of waste are generated, including 720 bags just at lunchtime. The document advocates creating sculptures out of collected waste to encourage more sustainable behaviors and reduce waste production on campus. A survey found most students believe waste is a problem at Cranford and that visual reminders through sculptures could help address the issue.
