They are Often Intentionally Brought Over to help deal with other pests or problems but later become a problem of their own.
Rats are thought to have been carried on boats coming to hawaii before to 1700’s. Later to combate this problem Europeans brought the mongoose, which is now a problem of its own. It kills local chickens, animals and other property.
Cane grubs where a problem for the sugar plantation owners. The solution was to introduce cane toads, unfortunatly without predators the toads have overpopulated and now are a serious issue.
Primarily the Northern Hawaiian Islands where included in the trash cleanup.
Hawaiian coral reefs have some world class marine life, some of which is only found in Hawaii. This marine life is seriously threatened by the polluting plastics found in our oceans.

Super Fund Sites are sites with toxic environmental waste which needs government aid or investigation in order to clean up.
Dirt and low groundwater at Del Monte have been mixed with the fumigants EDB, DBCP, and DCP, the solvents TCP, benzene and the pesticide lindane.
Soil, groundwater and sediment are contaminated with metals, organic compounds and petroleum hydrocarbons.
