Human Nature In Shakespeare s Hamlet
To, be or not to be, is one of William Shakespeare s most notable inquiries regarding the self in the
tragedy Hamlet (3.1.56). Hamlet is one of Shakespeare s most complicated characters, in that the
audience is able to view Hamlet s internal struggle. By orchestrating chaos, Shakespeare creates an
environment in which the male characters; Hamletand Claudius, are free to contemplate and express
their respective nature. However, when it comes to Gertrude; Hamlet s mother and initial instigator
of Hamlet s conflict, there is no interior examination. There is only recognition of her sexuality, and
the chaos that ensues from her decision to lay with Claudius. So why does someone so interested in
human nature, like William Shakespeare, not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
84). Already the concept of human nature alludes to a hierarchy. Those of a wealthier status are
more capable of attainting culture, and therefore able to cultivate their nature. This may be one of
the reasons why women, who were seen as imperfect men, did not have the freedom to explore
their interiority (Marquis 1257). Women were not made in the image of God, but rather: she is the
image of man in a restrictive and analogical sense, because woman was made from man, after man,
inferior to him and his likeness (Farber). Women were by design lower in the hierarchy. Not only
did the Renaissance now contemplate the self, but they also found celebration of the self. Cultural
historian, Jacob Burckhardt, argues that: In the Middle Ages, man was conscious of himself only
as a member of a race, people, party, family or corporation only through some general category
(Burke 193). During the Renaissance, however: ...this veil first melted into air...man became a
spiritual individual, and recognized himself as such (193). Man could now be a spiritual individual
outside of the theological realm because of this humanist movement of the Renaissance. This idea
was simplified by the Renaissance Italian philosopher, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, in his work
Oration on the Dignity of Man. He believed that

Puppies chew just about everything that gets near their mouths. There are several reasons why
they could be doing this. It could be separation anxiety, fabric sucking, or hunger. If your dog licks,
sucks, or chews on fabrics such as couches or blankets and of that nature. According to Virtual Pet

Housing In Floria Essay
Introduction Florida is a bellwether state for the U.S. in that trends that occur in Florida tend to
be experienced by the United States as a whole. Florida has pushed through some major events
such as the Florida Housing Boom in the early 2000 s, the recession in the mid 2000 s, and the
long but steady recovery phase towards the end of the 2000 s and modern times. This trend in
housing occured throughout the United States and was a key feature of the Great Recession. It is
possible to better understand housing trends and economic effects by focusing on a particular
example of housing in Florida. In addition to the direct relationship between prices and demand for
condominiums in Florida, there is also a direct correlation of how events... Show more content on

Once prices fell below the Q1 2003 price actually dipped below the Q1 2003 prices and finally
bottomed in 2012 at $181 dollars. These prices fell enough below a reasonable market value that
it started make financial sense that owners could start investing in these condos again. From this
point onwards there is a clear and consistent rise in price from Q1 of 2013 to Q4 of 2016. This
increase in price is linear in nature as opposed to the exponential growth of Q3 and Q4 of 2004,
and therefore appears sustainable.
Changes in Economy in Relation to Price and Sales
With the beginning of the collapse of the housing boom in 2006, Florida slipped into
approximately six years of nearly flat or negative growth within its economy. The dramatic
decrease in condo prices anticipated the overall housing boom by a year and a half to two years.
This makes sense because housing is a necessity, but luxury items such as condos are the first to go
in economic crisis. The job and consumption growth slowed down as consumers saw rising debt
payments on the record debt build up in the previous years. As a result, the debt squeeze left less
money available for key household expenditures and housing in general and pushed many families
over the edge with rising loan defaults and foreclosures.

Benefits Of Dual Language Bilingual Education
A dual language bilingual education strategy is usually employed in public schools. Typically the
minority language students and the majority language students are evenly distributed throughout
the classrooms. Both languages are used for instruction with evenly distributed 50/50 time. One
teacher shall instruct with the home language while other instruction is in English. The two
teachers work collaboratively through all the lessons. Since these students are in mainstream
education, it is no surprise that most students prefer to use English the majority language. The
goals of a dual language program are to develop high levels of proficiency of the first language then
subsequently the second language. Consequently, it is desired to... Show more content on

The bilingual education programs in the United States have a long history despite an ongoing
battle. The goal of bilingual education has been focused on two areas of assimilation and
integration. Bilingual education programs help immigrant children to learn English and adopt
American culture. Under social and political preferences, most of the schools use transitional
bilingual education but with English only. As a result, the students home languages, culture are
devalued in the schools. Students learn English while at the expense of losing their first language.
Despite much research bilingual education is not fairly recognized by the public. However in fact
when a bilingual education program supported the minority language were consistently superior in
various outcomes. Case closed, bilingual education programs should be properly administered with
the requisite support needed. We still wish to look at some further benefits though. Students who
are given instruction in their home language helps them to catch up to their English speaking peers
in subjects such as English language art, reading, and mathematics. Bilingual education students do
better than the English only instructed students overall. Bilingual education is more effective than
English only monolingual education. Actually, by using the students first language in schoolthis

Alicia In Wonder Tierra
On Friday, November 18th, I attended the play Alicia in Wonder Tierra which took place at
California State University of San Bernardino. The play was put together and made possible by
many students, professors and many others who dedicated their time and donations. I was
fortunate enough to have been able to work with Sara on the props and the paint portion of the
stage and set up. It was a great experience working on the props and seeing it all come together
and being able to see it all finally being used to create the vision of a producer and director. The
idea of Alicia in Wonder Tierra came from Silvia Gonzalez, she had created the characters based on
people and their way of seeing Hispanics and/or Latin Americans. The main character,... Show more

The costumes used on a few of the puppets were traditional Mexican ponchos. The Mexican
ponchos went well with the theme because it was a Mexican journey that Alicia went through
so the ponchos played a significant role. There was also Alicia, she wore regular skinny jeans
with a denim vest and a t shirt. The clothing Alicia wore was casual clothing, similar clothes to
what I wear. The clothing Alicia wore was a good representation of a Mexican American because
she did not understand the traditional Mexican wardrobe, the casual clothing she was wearing is
more of American attire. The puppet who accompanies Alicia on her journey, Ramon, was
wearing a traditional mariachi suit. The character also had a mustache and a trumpet, they were
two good characteristics because when most Mexicans think of a male mariachi, he has a thick
mustache and the instrument he plays. Some other costumes that are were significant were those
of the Elvira gang. The Elvira gang was made of a group of three girls, the tree girls wore black
clothing, wore their black hair teased enormously high and wore a lot of mascara. They each
carried around two chicken claws and used them to scare the other characters, another accessory
they carried was a few bottles of hairspray. Each of the costumes were able to represent who the
characters were. The costumes each had their own unique representation of the

Comparing Ulysses And The Siren
Mumford and Sons The Cave and John William Waterhouse s painting Ulysses and the Sirens
both show temptation through their powerful ideas. (Simple Sentence). They both give off a
whole concept that makes the audience come back for more and analyze what is really
happening. During The Cave , Mumford and Son s include The harvest left no food for you to
eat/ You cannibal, you meat eater, you see/ But I have see the same/ I know the shame in your
defeat (Mumford 5 8). The mood in these lines are slightly dark and mysterious, but it allows the
reader to really process what is going on (Compound Sentence). The reader can fully discover that

The audience must realize that the concept of the song is to fight the urge of seduction. The Siren s
voices are seductive to the all the men who will listen. Furthermore, temptation is a struggling event
that kills people s inner beliefs. This adds to the singer starting to believe that he is not strong
enough. However, he knows that he will keep fighting. With the same concept, John William
Waterhouse s painting Ulysses and the Sirens gives off the idea to use a contrast with darker and
lighter colors. Ulysses and the Sirens shows Odysseus and his crew surrounded by seven Sirens.
When looking at this picture, the viewer might feel a sudden flash of chills because of how dark
the scene is. It forces the viewer to take a closer look at the scene and see what is really
happening with Odysseus and his men. Waterhouse s painting also shows a dark scene with light
peeking through the two cliffs (Waterhouse). No hope is given off with this scene. The concept is
that temptation will beat the men and it will force them to give up. The men are believed to have
no hope until they reach the end of the

sweet bitter love, twists and cliff hangers, and action packed chapters. This novel is wonderfully
crafted and a breathtaking novel to read. Each of the characters are beautifully crafted and each
have special traits of their own, but the plot of the book is what makes, The No Promises In The
Wind, a page turner. It is about Josh and Joey s journey, through the United States, during the great

For Josh I strongly recommend Peyton Meyer,r a teenage boy with dark brown hair and light
blue eyes. He is in shape and has acted in many TV series before so he would fit the role perfectly.
For Joey, I suggest Max Charles, a 13 year old young man who has been featured in everything
from Spiderman to The Three Stooges. He has the looks, and the talent along with who we have
selected to play Emily. Bella Thorne is a tall, 19 year old woman with red hair and fair skin, she has
starred in the hit show, Shake It Off and comedy, Blended. For Janey we believe that 12 year old
Mackenzie Zeigler would be the perfect choice with her brown hair and dimples, and her
experience being featured on Nicky Ricky Dicky and Dawn along with a full time star on dance
moms. Lastly, for Lonnie, we have chosen Robert Downey Jr. a 51 year old man with a small
beard, but a big personality and role on Iron man. Ben affleck and Kate Beckinsale would play as
the parents of Josh, both over the age of 40, they are very experienced actors and have starred in
some of the most popular movies. This we strongly suggest to be the cast for this upcoming movie,

Obesity Is A Bad Addiction
Obesity is anabnormal accumulation of body fat, usually 20% or more over an individual s
ideal body weight. Obesity is associated with increased risk of illness, disability, and death.
National Health recommends 2000 kcal per day; of course it varies by people s physical
engagement activity. Nowadays there are loads of statistics which show that the substantial cause
of obesity is not extensive intake of food, but lack of exercises and intake of fatty and sugary
food. For instance, 30 years ago people used to eat more than today, yet they were more physically
active and they ingested more quality food.
Obesity is certainly a bad addiction, it is one of the most common bad habits, because it is easily
accessible and it is cheap. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indirect tax it tax that increases the price of a good, so that consumers are actually paying the tax
by paying more for the products. An indirect tax is most often thought of as a tax that is shifted
from one taxpayer to another, by way of an increase in the price of the good. Fuel, liquor and
cigarette taxes are all considered examples of indirect taxes, as many argue that the tax is actually
paid by the end consumer, by way of a higher retail price. Those taxes include VAT and duties.
There are some arguments that those taxes can be either positive or negative to economic
progression.
As we can see there are two different types of indirect taxes. One is inelastic and other is elastic.
They differ because of their steepness of grading, representing the demand curve. In this case
sugar would be some kind of hybrid, because it is not fully addiction substance, but many people
can t imagine day without one. When the demand is inelastic consumer have to spend more money
on the tax than producer, which makes government to raise most revenue. However this would
decrease a really small percent of consumers, which will not be willing to buy this item. So this
would allow government to set up gradually higher prices and there would be obvious increase in
the country revenue, which will allow government to spend more money and to cover all the cost of
the sugar consumption.
Tax incidence is an economic term for the division of a tax burden between

Horror Media Essay
Horror media has been around for many years. Era to era horror media has been passed down.
They started from just spoken words and myths, growing into much more. From the beginning,
horror movies have been a strong point in our culture and have adapted with it.
In the beginning, there was no such thing as the horror genre. Horror movies were then called
spook tales till the horror genre came around in the 1930 s. The first horror movie, or spook tail,
was a French silent film produced in 1896 called Le Manoir Du Diable or The House of the Devil.
It was created by Georges MГ©liГЁs, one of films most influential people at the time. During the
first world war, Germany had isolated them from the rest of the world. This caused Germany to
focus on film advance with movies like The Golem , which is considered as the first monster
movie. As silent films became obsolete, a new twist to the genre came with the advancements in
technology.
As we enter the 1930s, horror movies are officially classified as a genre. Also entering with the 30s

today, his work still influences the horror genre. The 60s also set a new bar for gore, with

The higher budget brought a higher production value, and that has left us with high tech and
thrilling movies like: The Exorcist , Jaws , Alien , The Shining , A Nightmare on Elm Street , and
Child s Play. With the 90s we shied away from the monsters of fiction and focused more on the
monster inside of us, serial killers. This brought about movies such as The Silence of the Lambs
and Se7en which show and examine the worst of the human

Why Hong Kong Is a Consultative Government in the First...
Historian G.B. Endacott thought that the Hong Kong government was a consultative government.
The definition of a consultative government is that it consults people s opinions and listens to
them. The features of a consultative Government are that it establishes communication between
local associations, asks and listen to opinion of people, asks for opinion and support in decisions
making, sets up advisory bodies to collect opinions and set up departments to consult people s
opinions. To a large extent, I agree that the Hong Konggovernment was a consultative government

can understand the public opinions. The department provided the government with information of
the Chinese, for example, the Chinese custom and religious belief, and helped explaining the

especially before the Second World War. To a smaller extent, I don t agree that Hong Kong was a

Cryptography is a method of storing and transmitting data in a particular form so that only those for
whom it is intended can read and process it. (Rouse, Definition: Cryptography, 2016)
It s meant for keeping secrets secret.
The objectives of Cryptography are as follows:
Confidentiality Ensuring that the information cannot be understood by anyone other than whom it
was intended.
Integrity Ensuring that the information cannot be altered in storage or in transit.
Non repudiation Where the creator or sender of information cannot later deny creation of the

Tidal Power
Engineering Design for Sustainability
TIDAL WAVE ENERGY
Introduction
Tidal power is a form of energy which derives directly from the relative motions of the Earth/Moon
system, and to a lesser extent from the Earth/Sol system.
Tidal energy is gained from the exchange of large bodies of water. Changes in water levels, and
associated tidal currents, are due to the gravitational pull of the Sun and Moon. This makes Tidal
Power completely predictable; furthermore, because it is created by relative motion of the special
bodies, it is in exhaustible.
Therefore Tidal power is much more reliable than other renewable sources such as wind or solar
power and will long outlast fossil fuels.
Tidal Power in the UK
It is estimated that tidal power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At high tide sea water flows into the reservoir through a one way gate. The gate closes when the
tide begin to fall and when the tide is low enough, the stored water is released at pressure through
turbines, back into the sea. The rotation of these turbines generates electricity.
The first commercial scale tidal generating barrage rated at 240 MW was built in La Rance. There
is smaller plant in Nova Scotia, rated at 20 megawatts (enough power for 4,500 homes).
The Dam for the tidal power plant on the estuary of the Rance River, Bretagne, France
The viability of Barrage systems has been questioned due to high civil infrastructure costs and
environmental issues. Although this method have proven very durable, barrage style power plants
are very expensive to build and are fraught with environmental problems from the accumulation of
silt within the dam catchment area (requiring regular, expensive dredging).
There are only a few potential sites across the globe and there are only three functioning plants
worldwide (Rance River, Bay of Fundy and Kislaya Guba).
Tidal Stream Systems
Engineers have created two new kinds of devices to harness the energy of tidal currents and
generate renewable, pollution free electricity. These are: Vertical axis and Horizontal axis models.
They are determined by the orientation of a subsea, rotating shaft that turns a gearbox linked to a
turbine with

Comparison Between Because He Loves Her And Girl Afraid
The poem Because He loves Her , by Emily Dickinson, and the song Girl Afraid by The Smiths
share a common topic: relationship dynamics. They discuss two different couples and show both
ends of the spectrum. In Dickinson s poem, the two are in love and the man treats his love
exceptionally well. In Girl Afraid , the couple is in a vastly different situation. They seem listless
and completely lacking in love or feelings of intimacy. Emily Dickinsons poem seems to be from an
outsider s perspective. We will pry and see if she is fair gives the impression that perhaps the
narrator deems the man s paramour maybe lacking, or maybe the narrator is jealous (Dickinson

A Person With Antisocial Personality Disorder
Undoubtedly, the first question asked by many upon the gruesome discovery of a murder victim is,
Who could commit such a heinous crime? Newspaper journalists, broadcast reporters, and the
public alike, have asked the question, What kind of person is capable of taking another person s
life? A person with Antisocial Personality Disorder(APD) is capable of just that and much more.
Common careers of people diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder include, sales,
management, and business professionals, as well as con artists. This is not an exhaustive list of
careers for the antisocial person, as it is common practice for an antisocial person to be a career
criminal, and in the most severe cases a serial killer.
APD has been defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM),
published by the American Psychiatric Association as a person having, a pervasive pattern of

What Is Pagerank Is An Algorithm Developed By Sergey Brin...
Abstract:
PageRank is an algorithm developed by Sergey Brin and Lawrence Page which uses subset of
network analysis to understand associations between nodes in a linked database. The algorithm
uses multitude of parameters to assign PageRank to various pages and is the backbone to Google
search functionality. Rank assigned to a webpage is calculated based on the ranks of the webpage
citing it.
This algorithm was developed as part of the research project supported by National Science
Foundation grant provided to Stanford University. The patent was filed by Stanford University in
1998 and is still owned by Stanford University, however Google has exclusive rights to use the
patent. PageRank is trademark of Google Inc. and Google pays royalties to Stanford University for
using the patent in Google search.
With the advent of computer technology in 1990 s the need to search large databases was
increasingly becoming vital. The search engines prior to PageRank had limitations, the then most
widely used algorithm used text based indexes to provide search results on World Wide Web
however had limitations of improper search results as the logic used by the search engines looked
at the number of occurrences of the search word in webpage which sometimes resulted in
improper search results. Another technique used during the time was based on variations of
standard vector space model i.e. search based on how recent the webpage was updated and/or how
close the search terms are to the

Argument Wellness
According to Maritain, the individual is a complex entity that holds the desires and wants of the
human being, and is willed to the universe for its own sake and stability. The person requires
community to manifest dignity, and seeks acknowledgement for who we are, and what we are,
as humans, and it allows for preferences of each being as it evolves. Because people have
inherent good in their essence, and, according to the encyclicals, are created in God s image, the
good is capable of transcending anything a political system has created. The good of the human
being is above the combined good of the physical universe because God became us, and so our
goodness is above anything and everything else. This inherent goodness that is within the being

JSF Program Analysis
The DoD communicated to Congress that the JSF program was essential to national security and
needed to continue. DoD was not the only corner of the iron triangle to influence Congress s
decision to continue the program. Lockheed Martin and various lobby groups highlighted the fact
that the JSF program supported 133,000 jobs many of them subcontractors and parts suppliers that
were spread across 45 states. Moreover, when full rate production was to begin, the employment
figure would grow to well over 250,000. With constituents in 45 states tied to the JSF program it
was a given that Congress would decide to continue with the JSF program. It is unlikely that

At times a strength can also be considered a weakness depending on the context. The JSF
program has a number of dual strength and weakness aspects to its program. The fact that the
program is a joint venture between the Navy and Air Force is theoretically a strength. The JSF
is replacing the A 10, F 16, F/A 18A D, and the AV 8 which are airframes from the Air Force,
Navy, and Marines. The original idea was to use a common production line to produce three
versions of a single aircraft thereby saving money. The concept was that each version would share
70% similarities with the others. It is more cost effective to produce one aircraft with three versions
vice three distinct aircraft. Moreover, there were eight nations that partnered with the U.S. in the
JSF program providing significant financial contributions especially as compared to what they
typically spent on their military budget in a given year. Partnering with other nations would reduce
the overall cost of each

Psychopaths In Prison
Generally defined, psychopathy is a personality disorder that is characterized by a combination of
superficial charm, strong antisocial behavior, and extreme sensation seeking and impulsivity.
Psychopaths make up approximately 15% of the prison population while between 50% 80% of that
prison population could be diagnosed more broadly with antisocial personality disorder(Ogloff,
2006). While the percentage of those diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder is high, the
percentage of psychopaths in prison is extremely overrepresented compared to the average
population which hovers between 1% 4% (Ogloff, 2006). While it would be disingenuous to say

In prison, they figured out that the best way to leave was to operate at the best behavior possible.
From there, once they were outside again, they were able to operate the same way they were before.
This aspect emphasizes the effect that the striatum and the amygdala play. The amygdala acted in
complete disregard for previous punishment once the subject was out of prison; meanwhile, the
striatum drives the constant desire for stimulation. This drives the thought that there may be
psychopaths in existence who are caught less frequently and how that may influence their

Nobody Never Gets To Heaven And Nobody Gets No Land Analysis
The quote from the book, Nobody never gets to heaven, and nobody gets no land (74), subtlety
explains an underlying detail to the grand theme regarding the American Dream in the story Of
Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. The statement mentioned by Crooks, one of the characters that
had once sought for the dream, sums up the theme that humanity keeps chasing the same objective
of living a successful life, yet it remains unachievable. The plot of the story revolves around
George and Lennie, a pair of migrant farmers that work towards their personal dream of owning
personal land for by working on a ranch where they must attempt to cooperate with the multiple
personalities of the other workers to gain enough money to leave the ranch for their dream.
Throughout the story, multiple characters strive for the American Dream, seeking fulfillment in
their lives, but achievement of the dream proved to be insurmountable by the experience of Curley
s wife, George, and Crooks. Curley s wife never accomplished her... Show more content on

Curley s wife relied on the possibility that her dream would come true, though the opportunity
had clearly passed while also living a life without any genuine friends. Likewise, George always
subconsciously felt that he could never own his own land with Lennie because there wasn t a
sufficient margin for error to accommodate for Lennie s inevitable mistakes. Finally, as strongly
as Crooks sought equality, he knew there was no real leniency for change because his position in
life would always be definite. Overall, an analytical reader of this story can reveal the darker,
depressing side to not only the book, but the American Dream as a whole. The audience can learn
that no matter how hard you try to change fate, the overall outcome will not be

When Reading “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” By
When reading Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas, Acquainted with the
Night by Robert Frost, and Sestina by Elizabeth Bishops, the authors use unique imagery,
symbolism, and metaphors to demonstrate a dark atmosphere during the poems. Each poem deals
with dark tones such as depression, sadness, and death. By using imagery, symbolism, and
metaphors, the authors are able to intensify the overall mood of the poems. Thomas uses metaphors
to show different settings of his poem throughout the days and Frost utilizes metaphors, symbolism
and imagery to represent the local setting and distant surroundings. In Sestina , Bishop uses imagery
and metaphors to enhance the details of her poem.

The poem has a balanced rhythm and the first line rhymes with the third and final line of each stanza
until the final stanza. The final stanza completes the circle and repeats the initial line of the
poem. In addition to the rhyming within each stanza, Frost wrote this poem to consistently
throughout where each stanza had exactly ten syllables and every other word was stressed
while reading. This poem also uses night as a metaphor. Throughout the poem, darkness is
represented by the night. It doesn t represent death, but it is more of a metaphor for depression
or sadness. The poem tells of a man that is walking alone at night through a city. The narration of
the poem not only uses night as a metaphor, it also uses imagery and symbolism to enhance the
depth of the poem. In the poem, the man hears a cry far away (Frost 503) and he is said to have
outwalked the city light. (Frost 503) This symbolism is used to depict the man as being alone
and not around anything. He has walked away from all the lights of the city and is in the
darkness of the night. No one else is around and people would have a hard time hearing him from
where he is. When the man passed a watchman, he dropped my eyes. (Frost 503) He seemed shy
and distant and refused to make any sort of contact with other individuals. In addition to the
darkness, Frost writes that it is raining as the man is walking alone at night. The poet uses the dark

Child Murderer Personification
I chose the above paragraph to draw information from for my poem because the lead paragraph

disturbing topic it revolved around. Stories of child murderers are relatively uncommon and
oppose societal norms which is why I find them to be interesting. Moreover, I have always been
curious to learn more about child murderers as I do not understand why a child would want to
murder their family, which is also why I was drawn to this article. I did make one modification to
the original idea of the newspaper by presenting the murderer as an individual who is also
suffering from a mental illness, namely, schizophrenia. It is not mentioned in the article whether or
not the child suffers from a mental illness. However, I decided to present him in the way I did in

Illegal drug to be hidden or legal pharmaceutical can be argued until the end of time while there
will always be some who disagree, it s human nature. Truly it is hard to remove the programmed
thoughts that still remain in our culture that marijuana will always be the reefer madness culprit of
the past. Yet the actual benefits need to be given a chance. Why not? If it is something that can
help even one person should the public not at least think about it? So while the arguments for both
sides remain firm in their belief of the harms and the cures of marijuana, we as an educated society
need to follow through with the proper research.
Marijuana was initially made illegal at the federal level by the Marijuana TaxStamp Act of 1937.
Anyone wanting to sell the drug had to register and pay taxes on it. Then the federal government
simply did not allow people to register or pay taxes, so everyone selling marijuana was doing so
against the law. This act was struck down after a court challenge by Timothy Leary on Fifth
Amendment grounds (of course the government immediately passed another law against it). The
IRS, however, still officially requires people to pay taxes on their income from illegal drugs:

The International Economy And Its Far Reaching Financial...
The interconnectedness of the international economy and its far reaching financial crises has
convinced many to start rethinking the international finance system once more. In short, there is a
need for an LOLR (international lender of last resort) due to the fact that international capital flows
are not only immensely volatile but also influential in destabilizing other countries. Many argue that
an LOLR can help mitigate the effects of instability and help countries facing a crisis to restabilize.
In industrialized countries, domestic central banks have the ability to do this with the lender of last
resort operation in which the central banklends freely during a financial crisis. However, central
banks in emerging market countries are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, no bank runs occurred and a panic was avoided. The advantage to having a LOLR in a
developed country is that it can be a lender of last resort not only to banks but also the the entire
system. This is exemplified in 1987 when the stock market crashed but the Federal Reserve was
able to offer liquidity to those that would make loans to the securities industry. The end result was
a negligible impact on the economy and a small amount of liquidity needed to be provided by Fed
needed to remedy the situation.
An LOLR becomes problematic in emerging markets in developing countries for a number of
reasons. First, many emerging market countries have most of their debt denominated in foreign
currency. Second, since their history of high and variable inflation have resulted in debt
contracts, expansionary monetary would cause expected inflation to rise drastically and
domestic currency to depreciate sharply. As a result, a LOLR has a much lower success rate than
a developed country s. From a larger perspective, the depreciation of the domestic currency leads
to a deterioration in firms and banks balance sheets because much of their debt is denominated in
foreign currency. This raises the burden of indebtedness and lowers banks and firms net worth.
Third, the sharp rise of expected inflation would cause interest rates to rise as well due to the need
to protect lenders from the loss of purchasing power when they lend.

Legalization of Doping in Professional Sports
The incident of Ben Johnson s steroid disgrace during the Olympics of 1988 was not the genesis
of drug use in sport. The use of performance improving drugs has a history with research
indicating cases dating back to the creation of Olympic Games. Doping has shaken most, if not all
of the sports competitions today. A lot of winners in various sportcategories have been stripped their
medals due positive elements of drug and substances in their blood or urine during tests. Sportsmen
and women have been subjected to drug test frequently with those having positive results getting
disqualified from competing.
There are various types of doping drugs in sport which include; Steroids, body development
hormone, stimulants, blood doping for increased performance in competition. Performance
enhancing drugs has a huge market in the world with billions of dollars in flow.
Proponents of drug ban have enough reasons to support their course, with most of them pointing
at; reverence for guidelines of sport, acknowledgement that ordinary abilities and their aptness are
the argument of sports, and the vision of an arms race in physical performance. Performance
augmenting tablets have the influence to overcome variances in ordinary abilities and the
inclination to expense and endure in the pursuit to effect those aptitudes. For the worth of sport

Modernism Vs Surrealism
The definition of the Modernist period of art is artistic work produced during the period of the
1860s to the 1970s, and it denotes the styles and philosophy of the art produced during that era.
The term Modernist is usually associated with art that is experimenting and is not regarding
traditions of the past. Two examples Modernist movements include geometric abstraction and
surrealism which are both similar and different in many ways. Geometric abstraction is a form
of abstract art based on the use of geometric figures to create an emotion for the viewer based on
reality that rose in the Modernist period of art. Horseman of the Apocalypse painted by Pierre
Daura in Spain, 1939 is a perfect example of a painting demonstrating geometric abstraction.
When looking at that the painting Horseman of the Apocalypse, there is a big diamond shape
with the edges touching the corners of the canvas. The reason the diamond stands out so much
is because Pierre Daura purposely made the colors inside of it lighter which created a strong
focal point to what is inside of the diamond. Inside of the diamond is a galloping horse including
the colors red, black, pale, and white. Outside of the diamond there is four horse riders which
correspond to the four colors of the horses. In the Book of Revelation it states that when these
horses and their riders go forth to conquer it will symbolize the end of the world. But, Pierre Daura
put meaning behind it because instead of calling it Horse of the

There is unlikely any other form of currency that has an equivalent amount to existing fiat
currencies (Meiklejohn, et al., 2016). There is no overruling administration which has led to the

Bitcoin is an independent online system that uses features of both cash and online payment
methods. Similar to the use of cash, Bitcoins allow the individuals to be anonymous with their
transactions. The transaction is cryptographically signed to transfer the amount from one
individual to another. At the same time these transactions are irreversible. This is similar to the no
charge back risk that is found with credit cards. All Bitcoin transactions require a third party
mediation: a global peer to peer network of participants validates and certifies all transactions
(Meiklejohn, et al., 2016). This decentralization entails each transaction of the entire system to be
stored by each individual who uses Bitcoins. In 2012 this amounted to over three gigabits of
compressed data (Meiklejohn, et al., 2016).

The Roman Pantheon is an architectural wonder built by the Roman s over 18 centuries ago that

the beauty in which it has been described back when it was first built and how proud the Roman

beautiful but how almost every aspect within it has meaning makes the name its given well

Observation In Early Childhood Education
Observation
In order to be a good educator, it is critical to observe children during their learning experiences.
Observations allow the educator to determine what the child knows, can do and understand (Early
Childhood Australia, 2012, p.1). Observations help the educator to implement experiences, which
are of interest to the children helping to build on their knowledge. According to Curtis Carter (2013,
p. 16) educators have many demands and distractions; therefore learning to pay attention requires
systematic study and ongoing practice. It was nice to conduct an experience with two children,
however, I feel that in an early childhood setting there would be many distractions that I would have
to overcome.
Observing Liliana and Ella ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When interacting with the children I was sure to stand back and observe them allowing them to
engage with one another. Only when the children asked for help or included me in the experience
did I contribute. By doing this I felt that I was able to offer both Liliana and Ella the time required
to engage in the experience and with one another. Liliana took photos of Ella and I and we all
reflected on what was happening (Curtis Carter, 2013, p.15). This continued throughout the
experience with us discussing what could be seen and what the children were doing allowing us to
all reflect on the experience and the chance for me to enhance their learning.
Interpretation
Interpreting what is happening throughout the experience is essential, allowing the educator to
reflect on the experience. According to the DEEWR (2009, p. 17) interpretation allows educators to
collect rich and meaningful information, which describes their progress and identifies the children
s strengths, skills, and understanding. By conducting observations during the experience, I was
able to interpret what was happening in the experience at a later time.
I used observations, which included jottings, photographs and recorded the experience. By using a
variety of different observations I was able to interpret what the

Karl Marx And The Proletariat
Marx and the Proletariat
Following the industrial revolution, the world saw the rise of a new social and economic class
that became known as the working class. The working class, made up of wage dependent
laborers, began growing very rapidly as industrialization spread throughout the globe. Karl Marx
was one of the first people to see the growing potential within this class which he referred to as the
proletariat. Marx saw a divide forming within society due to the bourgeoisie continuing to rise in
power, while the proletariat grew stagnate or declined in power To understand Karl Marxs and
Frederick Engel s Communist Manifesto, the proletariat must be defined, also the importance of the
proletariat must be understood.

Rebirth Is A Sci Fi Thriller
REBIRTH is a sci fi thriller that offers a visionary and cautionary new world. The script nicely
poses the question about the advancement of technology and medicine. The hero questions the
morality of living life with out defects or the need to procreate. It s a compelling question to
examine.
The idea of searching for a new planet has merit. The idea of finding an abandoned spacecraft and
trying to put the pieces together of what happened to the ship also is engaging. There s a ticking
clock tension to get home or to get to the new planet.
The script is driven by the theme of second chances. It also examines the man vs. machine premise.
Ironically, due to social engineering, the humans have become more robot like, suppressing their
emotions, while the android featured in the script, is almost more human than the real humans. It s a
clever contradiction.
While the script has definite strengths, the overall script would benefit from more development to
build upon those strengths.
One area that would benefit from more development is the structure and pace. It s crucial to
immediately engage and grab the audience, especially in the first ten pages. The current first ten
pages of the script feels slow. It introduces the characters, but nothing exciting happens to
immediately draw the audience into the plot. It s not until around pages 16 or 17 that they find the
planet and this perks our interest.
The fire is the major inciting event that traps the crew in a strong dilemma.

functions. The function of the thyroid gland is to increase the metabolic rate to speed digestion.
Now that the endocrine glands of the head and neck area have been introduced, now the glands of
the upper and lower torso will be introduced and overviewed. The endocrine gland located in the
upper torso is the thymus gland, in the lower torso the adrenal glands, pancreas, and testis/ovaries
can be found. The function of the thymus gland is to stimulate the production and maturation of T
Lymphocytes. The functions of the adrenal glands are the raising of glucose levels, the reabsorption
of sodium and the excretion of potassium, and the stimulating of reproductive organs that bring
about sex characteristics. The function of pancreas is to regulate blood glucose levels. And finally
the function of the testis/ovaries is to stimulate sex characteristics. All of these glands make up the

Disadvantages Of White Food
White can be dangerous! People who care about nutrition often search for regulations that might
end up in good food habits. These rules concentrate on eliminating hydrogenated oils and
including at least half plate of vegetables. But not every rule is helpful or necessary at all. One of
the perplexed advices suggested is to avoid white coloured foods. One may be surprised if there
are any proof to backup these plain advices. Does it apply all the white coloured foods? If so,
what is strange with the colour white? Like other slogans that transform information into attractive

high glycemic index and it is a fast carb. This indicates that it breaks into sugar in the body. This
leads to insulin resistance. Glucose level increases after eating white rice. A fact is that while

the nutrients present in the outer periphery that is removed while processing. Polished rice leads
to diabetes risk and it increases the blood sugar levels to rise than brown rice. Also it reduces the

Ecclesiastes 1-3 Analysis
Existence of God Worksheet Ecclesiastes 1 3
Ecclesiastes is a book in the Hebrew Bible (the OT) that falls into the Wisdom literature genre. In
it the Teacher (possibly Solomon though this is far from certain and unnecessary for
understanding the book) expresses what life is like under the sun (see 1:3). Given the three storied
view of the world (heaven, earth, under the earth) that was common during this period, the
expression probably refers to life on the earth and, in particular, to life lived without reference to
God.
As the Teacher contemplates this world, verses 2 11 of chapter one appear to be a depiction of
what he finds: as things change, they really just stay the same. Generations pass, but the earth
remains. The sun comes up and goes down every day. The winds blow in a continual circuit,
returning again and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Teacher pursued the understanding of wisdom and the madness and folly (foolishness) (1:17).
The Teacher s conclusions about seeking wisdom and the madness and folly was that when you
receive wisdom it comes at a price of sorrow (1:18).
Would pursuing this same interest as an attempt to understand the divine order of things be likely to
change these conclusions? Why or why not? How different would this be than seeking this interest
just for itself?
I think that by attempting to understand the divine order of things you still would have the same
results of sorrow, the more knowledge, the more grief. Despite what the knowledge is about (For
example: God, languages, computers, or books) knowledge is knowledge. With that knowledge
comes responsibility. The responsibly of sharing that knowledge and wisdom with others. When
comparing this to seeking for your own interest I personally believe that the same standard stands.
That when you learn something you should share your knowledge.
In light of this how does God s existence provide purpose to this

This means that you will need to change your recruitment practices and perhaps extend beyond
Tacoma to find talent. Realistically I don t see Tanglewood meeting the demands for minority
incumbency for the store associate position in a single year. Hiring internally gives the current
employees more hope and will improve the problem you are facing with keeping your employees
loyal to the company. Although focusing primarily on internal promotions decreases the chance of
finding a stellar employee, it will solve a lot of the current problems your company is facing. I
recommend that you promote current females and minorities internally. This will keep more low
entry level employees motivated to stay and also improve your problems with incumbency
percentages as well. Wood himself mentioned in a recent interview with Business Monthly that,
Tanglewood really needs to slow down and take a hard look at our corporate culture . He goes
on by saying, Right now, we need to consolidate and make sure we re as close to the company s
original mission as we can be . Taking this quote into consideration it is clear that the recent
expansion increases have destroyed the relationship between the low level employees and
Tanglewood. This does not merely apply to the Washington stores, but to rather the entire store as a
whole. People are running in and out of this company and the only way to stop the large percentage

The Role Of Homeless Veterans In Texas
In Texas today there about 16,000 homeless veterans. Veterans who previously put their lives on
the line for this country, veterans who, at the very least, deserve a bed to sleep on at night. This
is not only an issue that needs to be addressed in Texas, but also an issue that should be a top
priority. Because Texas has the third largest population of homeless veterans, we should be doing
more to help those who served in combat and are now living on the streets. Although Austin has
recently helped lower the population of homeless veteran, the bill SB 267 the you wrote has made
it harder to find appropriate housing for these veterans. Understanding that the bill was passed to
protect private property rights, it was nevertheless detrimental to the overall goal of finding a place
to live for the homeless veterans on the street. Due to the bill, finding housing that would be
financially appropriate has proven to be more difficult.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

those that need their help. With the right programs and funding, Texas could do more to help
homeless veterans, like provide a bed for each one on the street, or have enough shelters and
outreach programs so those in need can find adequate help. After all, one on the street is one too

Hamlet As A Tragic Hero
A tragic hero is defined as the protagonist and driving force of a tragic drama. In Shakespeare s
tragedy Hamlet, Hamlet s father, the king, was killed by Hamlet s uncle Claudius, the brother of
Hamlet s father. Claudius killed Hamlet s father because he wanted to be the king. Claudius is also
marrying Hamlets mother, Gertrude, who is also the queen. The ghost of Hamlet s father tells
Hamlet he was murdered by Claudius, but Hamlet doesn t know what to do. Ideas that will be
addressed in this essay are: what makes hamlet a tragic hero, how does Hamlet relates to Aristotle s
definition of a tragic hero. and Hamlet s tragic demise. Hamlet is a tragic hero, which is evident
throughout Shakespeare s tragedyHamlet because he has a tragic flaw that leads to his demise.
Hamlet fits the characteristic of a tragic hero because tragic heroes typically have tragic flaws that
lead to their downfall, Hamlet s Tragic flaw is his constant contemplation and brooding
(literarydevices.net) Hamlet s contemplation leads him to opt out of killing Claudius when he had
the chance, and thus lead himself to his own downfall. A tragic hero also evokes emotions in the
audience; for example, By the end, Hamlet also falls in a bloodbath, touching the hearts of the
audience by highlighting the most primal fear, death (literarydevices.net). It evokes these feelings
because we all fear death, death is a scary thing because it is unknown what happens after death.

The And Law Enforcement Officers
Over the past couple years there has been an ever increasing amount of reports against police
using excessive force when the situation does not call for it. Every time a case like this happens
hundreds if not thousands of dollars are wasted to correct the situation. This is due to the conflicting
statements between eyewitnesses and law enforcement officers. Forensic investigations are needed
to understand what most likely occurred. When we are little we were told to always trust police
officers because they are there to look out for us, but not every police officerhas that same idea.
The officers are people and people are flawed by nature but we hold them to a higher standard
and that their word is worth more than the average citizen in a court of law. This leads to officers
being considered correct until valid conflicting evidence is introduced where the officer is shown
in the wrong. Thankfully modern advances in technology, specifically smart phones, are causing
new evidence to be provided to be in video format more often. Body cameras are one of the
proposed solutions to help solve this ongoing conflict due to their easy implementation but the
cameras have hidden costs that are not immediately thought of. Overall the cost of using cameras is
outweighed by the social benefits gained from implementing them. Michael Brown was an unarmed
eighteen year old African American male when he was shot and killed by a police officer in
Ferguson, Missouri. The incident caused an

Correspondingly, to gain the support of the German s, Hitler told the citizens what they wanted

news jobs, a strong economy, and military power. WIth the hardships that the Great Depression
brought to the society, the people were desperate for any and all relief that could get them back
on their feet. Using similar leading tactics, both Jack and Hitler developed methods of persuasion
to win over the groups they were trying to obtain. Both leaders were able to gain the support of
many through persuasion and promises, but after they gained that power, they used it as a way to
control their followers. The two were able to successfully do this because of the amount of faith
people had in them. Hitler once said, What luck for rulers that men do not think. In this sentence

  • 2. Human Nature In Shakespeare s Hamlet To, be or not to be, is one of William Shakespeare s most notable inquiries regarding the self in the tragedy Hamlet (3.1.56). Hamlet is one of Shakespeare s most complicated characters, in that the audience is able to view Hamlet s internal struggle. By orchestrating chaos, Shakespeare creates an environment in which the male characters; Hamletand Claudius, are free to contemplate and express their respective nature. However, when it comes to Gertrude; Hamlet s mother and initial instigator of Hamlet s conflict, there is no interior examination. There is only recognition of her sexuality, and the chaos that ensues from her decision to lay with Claudius. So why does someone so interested in human nature, like William Shakespeare, not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 84). Already the concept of human nature alludes to a hierarchy. Those of a wealthier status are more capable of attainting culture, and therefore able to cultivate their nature. This may be one of the reasons why women, who were seen as imperfect men, did not have the freedom to explore their interiority (Marquis 1257). Women were not made in the image of God, but rather: she is the image of man in a restrictive and analogical sense, because woman was made from man, after man, inferior to him and his likeness (Farber). Women were by design lower in the hierarchy. Not only did the Renaissance now contemplate the self, but they also found celebration of the self. Cultural historian, Jacob Burckhardt, argues that: In the Middle Ages, man was conscious of himself only as a member of a race, people, party, family or corporation only through some general category (Burke 193). During the Renaissance, however: ...this veil first melted into air...man became a spiritual individual, and recognized himself as such (193). Man could now be a spiritual individual outside of the theological realm because of this humanist movement of the Renaissance. This idea was simplified by the Renaissance Italian philosopher, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, in his work Oration on the Dignity of Man. He believed that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Housing In Floria Essay Introduction Florida is a bellwether state for the U.S. in that trends that occur in Florida tend to be experienced by the United States as a whole. Florida has pushed through some major events such as the Florida Housing Boom in the early 2000 s, the recession in the mid 2000 s, and the long but steady recovery phase towards the end of the 2000 s and modern times. This trend in housing occured throughout the United States and was a key feature of the Great Recession. It is possible to better understand housing trends and economic effects by focusing on a particular example of housing in Florida. In addition to the direct relationship between prices and demand for condominiums in Florida, there is also a direct correlation of how events... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once prices fell below the Q1 2003 price actually dipped below the Q1 2003 prices and finally bottomed in 2012 at $181 dollars. These prices fell enough below a reasonable market value that it started make financial sense that owners could start investing in these condos again. From this point onwards there is a clear and consistent rise in price from Q1 of 2013 to Q4 of 2016. This increase in price is linear in nature as opposed to the exponential growth of Q3 and Q4 of 2004, and therefore appears sustainable. Changes in Economy in Relation to Price and Sales With the beginning of the collapse of the housing boom in 2006, Florida slipped into approximately six years of nearly flat or negative growth within its economy. The dramatic decrease in condo prices anticipated the overall housing boom by a year and a half to two years. This makes sense because housing is a necessity, but luxury items such as condos are the first to go in economic crisis. The job and consumption growth slowed down as consumers saw rising debt payments on the record debt build up in the previous years. As a result, the debt squeeze left less money available for key household expenditures and housing in general and pushed many families over the edge with rising loan defaults and foreclosures. Home appreciations started to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Benefits Of Dual Language Bilingual Education A dual language bilingual education strategy is usually employed in public schools. Typically the minority language students and the majority language students are evenly distributed throughout the classrooms. Both languages are used for instruction with evenly distributed 50/50 time. One teacher shall instruct with the home language while other instruction is in English. The two teachers work collaboratively through all the lessons. Since these students are in mainstream education, it is no surprise that most students prefer to use English the majority language. The goals of a dual language program are to develop high levels of proficiency of the first language then subsequently the second language. Consequently, it is desired to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The bilingual education programs in the United States have a long history despite an ongoing battle. The goal of bilingual education has been focused on two areas of assimilation and integration. Bilingual education programs help immigrant children to learn English and adopt American culture. Under social and political preferences, most of the schools use transitional bilingual education but with English only. As a result, the students home languages, culture are devalued in the schools. Students learn English while at the expense of losing their first language. Despite much research bilingual education is not fairly recognized by the public. However in fact when a bilingual education program supported the minority language were consistently superior in various outcomes. Case closed, bilingual education programs should be properly administered with the requisite support needed. We still wish to look at some further benefits though. Students who are given instruction in their home language helps them to catch up to their English speaking peers in subjects such as English language art, reading, and mathematics. Bilingual education students do better than the English only instructed students overall. Bilingual education is more effective than English only monolingual education. • 7. Alicia In Wonder Tierra On Friday, November 18th, I attended the play Alicia in Wonder Tierra which took place at California State University of San Bernardino. The play was put together and made possible by many students, professors and many others who dedicated their time and donations. I was fortunate enough to have been able to work with Sara on the props and the paint portion of the stage and set up. It was a great experience working on the props and seeing it all come together and being able to see it all finally being used to create the vision of a producer and director. The idea of Alicia in Wonder Tierra came from Silvia Gonzalez, she had created the characters based on people and their way of seeing Hispanics and/or Latin Americans. The main character,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The costumes used on a few of the puppets were traditional Mexican ponchos. The Mexican ponchos went well with the theme because it was a Mexican journey that Alicia went through so the ponchos played a significant role. There was also Alicia, she wore regular skinny jeans with a denim vest and a t shirt. The clothing Alicia wore was casual clothing, similar clothes to what I wear. The clothing Alicia wore was a good representation of a Mexican American because she did not understand the traditional Mexican wardrobe, the casual clothing she was wearing is more of American attire. The puppet who accompanies Alicia on her journey, Ramon, was wearing a traditional mariachi suit. The character also had a mustache and a trumpet, they were two good characteristics because when most Mexicans think of a male mariachi, he has a thick mustache and the instrument he plays. Some other costumes that are were significant were those of the Elvira gang. The Elvira gang was made of a group of three girls, the tree girls wore black clothing, wore their black hair teased enormously high and wore a lot of mascara. He has the looks, and the talent along with who we have selected to play Emily. Bella Thorne is a tall, 19 year old woman with red hair and fair skin, she has starred in the hit show, Shake It Off and comedy, Blended. For Janey we believe that 12 year old Mackenzie Zeigler would be the perfect choice with her brown hair and dimples, and her experience being featured on Nicky Ricky Dicky and Dawn along with a full time star on dance moms. Lastly, for Lonnie, we have chosen Robert Downey Jr. a 51 year old man with a small beard, but a big personality and role on Iron man. Ben affleck and Kate Beckinsale would play as the parents of Josh, both over the age of 40, they are very experienced actors and have starred in some of the most popular movies. Nowadays there are loads of statistics which show that the substantial cause of obesity is not extensive intake of food, but lack of exercises and intake of fatty and sugary food. Indirect tax it tax that increases the price of a good, so that consumers are actually paying the tax by paying more for the products. An indirect tax is most often thought of as a tax that is shifted from one taxpayer to another, by way of an increase in the price of the good. Fuel, liquor and cigarette taxes are all considered examples of indirect taxes, as many argue that the tax is actually paid by the end consumer, by way of a higher retail price. Those taxes include VAT and duties. There are some arguments that those taxes can be either positive or negative to economic progression. As we can see there are two different types of indirect taxes. One is inelastic and other is elastic. They differ because of their steepness of grading, representing the demand curve. In this case sugar would be some kind of hybrid, because it is not fully addiction substance, but many people can t imagine day without one. When the demand is inelastic consumer have to spend more money on the tax than producer, which makes government to raise most revenue. However this would decrease a really small percent of consumers, which will not be willing to buy this item. Tidal Power Engineering Design for Sustainability TIDAL WAVE ENERGY Introduction Tidal power is a form of energy which derives directly from the relative motions of the Earth/Moon system, and to a lesser extent from the Earth/Sol system. Tidal energy is gained from the exchange of large bodies of water. Changes in water levels, and associated tidal currents, are due to the gravitational pull of the Sun and Moon. This makes Tidal Power completely predictable; furthermore, because it is created by relative motion of the special bodies, it is in exhaustible. Therefore Tidal power is much more reliable than other renewable sources such as wind or solar power and will long outlast fossil fuels. Tidal Power in the UK It is estimated that tidal power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Illegal drug to be hidden or legal pharmaceutical can be argued until the end of time while there will always be some who disagree, it s human nature. Truly it is hard to remove the programmed thoughts that still remain in our culture that marijuana will always be the reefer madness culprit of the past. Yet the actual benefits need to be given a chance. Why not? If it is something that can help even one person should the public not at least think about it? So while the arguments for both sides remain firm in their belief of the harms and the cures of marijuana, we as an educated society need to follow through with the proper research. Marijuana was initially made illegal at the federal level by the Marijuana TaxStamp Act of 1937. Anyone wanting to sell the drug had to register and pay taxes on it. Then the federal government simply did not allow people to register or pay taxes, so everyone selling marijuana was doing so against the law. This act was struck down after a court challenge by Timothy Leary on Fifth Amendment grounds (of course the government immediately passed another law against it). The IRS, however, still officially requires people to pay taxes on their income from illegal drugs: Illegal income, such as money from dealing illegal drugs, must be include in your income on Form 1040, line 21... • 32. The International Economy And Its Far Reaching Financial... The interconnectedness of the international economy and its far reaching financial crises has convinced many to start rethinking the international finance system once more. In short, there is a need for an LOLR (international lender of last resort) due to the fact that international capital flows are not only immensely volatile but also influential in destabilizing other countries. Many argue that an LOLR can help mitigate the effects of instability and help countries facing a crisis to restabilize. In industrialized countries, domestic central banks have the ability to do this with the lender of last resort operation in which the central banklends freely during a financial crisis. However, central banks in emerging market countries are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, no bank runs occurred and a panic was avoided. The advantage to having a LOLR in a developed country is that it can be a lender of last resort not only to banks but also the the entire system. This is exemplified in 1987 when the stock market crashed but the Federal Reserve was able to offer liquidity to those that would make loans to the securities industry. The end result was a negligible impact on the economy and a small amount of liquidity needed to be provided by Fed needed to remedy the situation. An LOLR becomes problematic in emerging markets in developing countries for a number of reasons. First, many emerging market countries have most of their debt denominated in foreign currency. Second, since their history of high and variable inflation have resulted in debt contracts, expansionary monetary would cause expected inflation to rise drastically and domestic currency to depreciate sharply. As a result, a LOLR has a much lower success rate than a developed country s. From a larger perspective, the depreciation of the domestic currency leads to a deterioration in firms and banks balance sheets because much of their debt is denominated in foreign currency. This raises the burden of indebtedness and lowers banks and firms net worth. Third, the sharp rise of expected inflation would cause interest rates to rise as well due to the need to protect lenders from the loss of purchasing power when they lend. ... Modernism Vs Surrealism The definition of the Modernist period of art is artistic work produced during the period of the 1860s to the 1970s, and it denotes the styles and philosophy of the art produced during that era. The term Modernist is usually associated with art that is experimenting and is not regarding traditions of the past. Two examples Modernist movements include geometric abstraction and surrealism which are both similar and different in many ways. Geometric abstraction is a form of abstract art based on the use of geometric figures to create an emotion for the viewer based on reality that rose in the Modernist period of art. Horseman of the Apocalypse painted by Pierre Daura in Spain, 1939 is a perfect example of a painting demonstrating geometric abstraction. When looking at that the painting Horseman of the Apocalypse, there is a big diamond shape with the edges touching the corners of the canvas. The reason the diamond stands out so much is because Pierre Daura purposely made the colors inside of it lighter which created a strong focal point to what is inside of the diamond. Inside of the diamond is a galloping horse including the colors red, black, pale, and white. Outside of the diamond there is four horse riders which correspond to the four colors of the horses. In the Book of Revelation it states that when these horses and their riders go forth to conquer it will symbolize the end of the world. The transaction is cryptographically signed to transfer the amount from one individual to another. At the same time these transactions are irreversible. Built under the reign of Emperor Hadrian 118 128A.D during the High Empire Period the Pantheon we know today was built in the same location as two prior pantheon s that both fell to fire (Kleiner 210). The meanings and feelings portrayed within the building and the engineering task they had to overcome simply amazes me. I can only imagine the beauty in which it has been described back when it was first built and how proud the Roman s must have been to call such a miraculous construction there own. Not only is the building itself beautiful but how almost every aspect within it has meaning makes the name its given well deserved. I wish that today we still put the same time, effort and meaning into the architecture that is created in the present instead of just building what ever is the cheapest and fastest. Observations allow the educator to determine what the child knows, can do and understand (Early Childhood Australia, 2012, p.1). Observations help the educator to implement experiences, which are of interest to the children helping to build on their knowledge. According to Curtis Carter (2013, p. 16) educators have many demands and distractions; therefore learning to pay attention requires systematic study and ongoing practice. The script nicely poses the question about the advancement of technology and medicine. The hero questions the morality of living life with out defects or the need to procreate. It s a compelling question to examine. The idea of searching for a new planet has merit. The idea of finding an abandoned spacecraft and trying to put the pieces together of what happened to the ship also is engaging. There s a ticking clock tension to get home or to get to the new planet. The script is driven by the theme of second chances. It also examines the man vs. machine premise. Ironically, due to social engineering, the humans have become more robot like, suppressing their emotions, while the android featured in the script, is almost more human than the real humans. It s a clever contradiction. While the script has definite strengths, the overall script would benefit from more development to build upon those strengths. One area that would benefit from more development is the structure and pace. It s crucial to immediately engage and grab the audience, especially in the first ten pages. The current first ten pages of the script feels slow. It introduces the characters, but nothing exciting happens to immediately draw the audience into the plot. In it the Teacher (possibly Solomon though this is far from certain and unnecessary for understanding the book) expresses what life is like under the sun (see 1:3). Given the three storied view of the world (heaven, earth, under the earth) that was common during this period, the expression probably refers to life on the earth and, in particular, to life lived without reference to God. As the Teacher contemplates this world, verses 2 11 of chapter one appear to be a depiction of what he finds: as things change, they really just stay the same. Because Texas has the third largest population of homeless veterans, we should be doing more to help those who served in combat and are now living on the streets. Although Austin has recently helped lower the population of homeless veteran, the bill SB 267 the you wrote has made it harder to find appropriate housing for these veterans. Understanding that the bill was passed to protect private property rights, it was nevertheless detrimental to the overall goal of finding a place to live for the homeless veterans on the street. Due to the bill, finding housing that would be financially appropriate has proven to be more difficult.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Michael Brown was an unarmed eighteen year old African American male when he was shot and killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. The incident caused an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
