I Want To Intern At Elkhart General Hospital
Helping others in need is something that I have always been passionate about. For
as long as I can remember I have always stated that I wanted to do something in the
healthcare field. At first it was a doctor but over the past 12 years of school it has
shifted to nursing. I have the amazing opportunity to intern at Elkhart General
Hospitalthis year and it has changed my outlook on the healthcare field. I never had
first hand experience with anything in the medical field until this year and every
day I am shocked at what I learn, even just by observing. From age 5 15 I wanted to
be a doctor because I saw them as the pros and as people who knew everything about
the human body. The first week I stepped into the hospital and followed nurses I
Jude the Obscure
Jude the Obscure Theme Analysis of Marriage
Thomas Hardy, the author of Jude the Obscure, focuses on multiple themes
throughout his book including social order and higher learning which is mainly
seen in the first part of the book. Jude, a working class boy aiming to educate
himself, dreams of a high level education at a university, but is pushed away by the
cruel and rigid social order. In the second part of the book, Jude abandons his idea of
entering Christminster and the focus shifts to Sue. The themes of love, marriage,
freedom replace the earlier theme of education and idealism. Hardy pushes each of
these themes to his audience and challenges everyday ideology by his audacious
story about Jude Hawley.
Hardy begins an argument ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead, he is an extremely patient and liberal husband.
Sue s views on marriage should not necessarily be connected with Hardy s. Hardy
himself points out her emotional inconsistency, and there are several signs that she
is not really cut out for marriage. In Part V, both Jude s and Sue s divorces come
through, but Sue avoids their possible marriage. She calls marriage a sordid contract
and a hopelessly vulgar institution, and she fears that an iron contract should
extinguish all tenderness between them, reinforcing Hardy s negative view of the
nature of marriage.
Most of Sue s views on marriage are given in parts V and VI. She feels that the
contractual nature of it will kill all impulse and romance; it is foreign to a man s
nature to go on loving a person when he is told that he must and shall be a person s
lover, (193). The visit to the unclean registry office in part V, chapter 4 is
horrifying for her, and she shows abhorrence to the ordinary church wedding. She
sees it in terms of a sacrifice of the bride: the flowers in the bride s hand are sadly like
the garland which decked the heifers of sacrifice in olden times, (215). Sue s views
on marriage are rather extreme, and they represent a push away from the norms of
marriage.
Hardy also raises some valid arguments of the overly rigid attitude of society towards
the unmarried and the unconventional. Phillotson s

Lala Lajpat Rai
Thesis: Lala Lajpat Rai was an all around freedom fighter for India. He wanted
them to be free from British rule. He protested openly and was arrested several
times, and eventually killed during a protest. He fought bravely and faithfully for
what he believed in, he fought for what he thought was wrong and the ways to make
it right. India for a long time had grown tired of British rule, and they wanted to run
their own country. They fought hard and protested with little to no success, until one
man came onto the scene, his name was Lala Lajpat Rai. His goal was to reform
Indian Policy through political tactics and through his writings. Lala focused on

Punjab was adversely affected by the commission because the Arya Samaj was
extremely active in the field of education. After the commission, it became
impossible for the people to have any say in their children s education. Lala
declared that The Government, by these new regulations, has made it almost
impossible for the Private Education Societies to start schools or improve them.
People are compelled to conclude that the Government does not want to spend
money for educational work, nor can they endure that Indians should voluntarily
undertake this work by spending money, unless the Indians hand over their money
and efforts to the Government. It would have been impossible for institutions like
the Metropolitan College, Calcutta College, Fergusson College, Poona and D.A.V.
College to come into existence under the present policies. Lala dove headlong in
the struggle against division of Bengal. Along with Surendra Nath Banerjea, Bipin
Chandra Pal and Arvinda Ghosh, he aroused Bengal and the nation in a vigorous
campaign of swadeshi. The British Government claimed that partition would make
administering the region easier. The leaders saw through this excuse as the age old
British policy of divide and rule at work. Lala was arrested on May 3, 1907 for
creating turmoil in Rawalpindi. Lala went there when he learned that five prominent
Indian lawyers had been served notices by the Deputy Commissioner. The
Conflicts Of Power In King Of The Bingo Game By Ralph
Ellison
The chillingly strange fiction, King of the Bingo Game by Ralph Ellison explores
how the unnamed protagonist has difficulties determining the differences between
reality and his unreal fate. The unnamed protagonist circulates the madness and
obsession for power throughout his veins that he is receiving from the spinning
bingo wheel. In the beginning of the story, Ellison condemns the way the unnamed
protagonist struggles to find hope from his own society, where he cannot even
have an identity of his own, and deals with developing racial conflicts. In the
middle of the story King of the Bingo Game , Ellison depicts a powerless
protagonist allowing a reflection on conflicts between the Black and White. Using
Ellison s writing fluency, the story deepens the empathy toward the outcasted
individuals and easily projects the messages that Blacks in Harlem can only have the
power when they are close to death. One of the key factors that Ellison defines in the
King of the Bingo Game is differences between the Black society of the north and
south; Ellison develops a society where a person holds the feeling of not fitting in. In
the short story, the unnamed protagonist defines the lives of the southern Blacks in
the northern United States. In fact, the unnamed protagonist contrasts where he used
to stay in North Carolina with Harlem: Folks down South stuck together that way;
they didn t even have to know you. But up here it was different. Ask somebody for

Professional Counselors For The State Of Alabama Essay
Introduction
Professional counselors have to meet distinct requirements set by individual states.
This work focuses on the requirements counselors have to meet in the state of
Alabama. The difference between licensure, certification, and accreditation will be
highlighted. The state has two levels of counseling license; the associate licensed
counselor, and the licensed professional counselor (LPC). Licensed counselors in
other states can apply for licensure through endorsement.
Criteria and Standards to becoming a LPC
Educational Requirements
The initial step to becoming a LPC in the state is to complete a graduate level
educational program at an accredited college. This same program has to be
accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational
Programs (CACREP) or the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE). In any
instances that the program is not accredited by either of these councils, it must be the
equivalent. About 48 semester hours of coursework are expected of each candidate.
The state law allows prospective counselors to acquire a high quality education that
initially serves them as they prepare to meet the needs of individual patients.
Students are expected to meet coursework in: human development; social and cultural
foundations; counseling theory; lifestyle and career development; the helping
relationship; individual appraisal; group dynamics, processing, and counseling; and
research and evaluation. To be qualified as LPC,
Autism Refers To A Neuron Developmental Condition,
Which
Autism refers to a neuron developmental condition, which impedes the normal child s
growth and progress within a social setting. According to Tzanakaki et al., an autistic
individual finds it challenging to interact with other people and cannot relate to
societal norms ably (63). Health practitioners believe that failure of neuron synaptic
networks in the brain to develop in a normal way owing to chromosomal deficiency
causes autism. The symptoms and signs of autism become visible right from infancy.
For autistic patients, their cognitive processes are inhibited because their neuron
synaptic junctions are underdeveloped. Arguably, although there is neither scientific
nor a clinical, pathological experiment, which can prove with surety... Show more

Secondly, autism is a highly inheritable disease. The Medical Research Council
(MRC) based in the United Kingdom pinpoints that the genetic effect on autism
ranges between 74 to 98% according to their study involving 258 twins (Hill et al.
15). They used both dizygotic and monozygotic twins raised within the same
environmental setting by their parents. Dizygotic refers to twins that result from
fertilization of two different eggs by two different sperms while monozygotic refers
to twins that result from one egg fertilization by one sperm. The outcomes of the
study indicate that if one identical twin suffers from the autism spectrum condition,
there is approximately 76% probability that the other twin could be diagnosed with
it (Biederman et al. 79). However, fraternal twins, a pair of twins of the same sex
but not necessarily alike resulting from fertilization of two separate ova, exhibited a
low prevalence rate. The proportion of fraternal twins with autism was 18% for girl
boy pairs and 34% for the same sex twins (Jeste and Geschwind 77). This population
based twin illustration signifies the role played by genetics and most importantly
opens up the likelihood of health practitioners getting a better understanding of the
autism condition.
Correspondingly, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a family
whose first child has autism has a 5% possibility that the second child would also
have autism

The disillusionment of American dream in the Great Gatsby and Tender is the night
Chapter I Introduction
F. Scott Fitzgerald is the spokesman of the Jazz Age and is also one of the greatest
novelists in the 20th century. His novels mainly deal with the theme of the
disillusionment of the American dream of the self made young men in the 20th
century. In this thesis, Fitzgerald s two most important novels The Great Gatsby
(2003) and Tender is the Night(2005) are analyzed. Both these two novels tell us the
story of the pursuit and failure of the American dream of the young men in the
twenties. Jay Gatsby is the central character of The Great Gatsby and Dick Diver is
the counterpart of Tender Is the Night and both these two men fall in ... Show more

She is the daughter of a millionaire, but unfortunately she is the victim of the incest
and has a serious mental disease. As a doctor, Dick is sympathetic with her and
wants to cure her to realize his American dream that s to get the admission and
acceptance of the upper class, so he marries her and devotes more than his decade
of life to curing her. But Nicole leaves him after her recovery and turns to her new
lover, Tommy Barban. Dick goes back to his hometown quietly. Dick s weaknesses
and his identity as a spoiled priest are rooted in his personality his egotism and
desire to please and be loved that transform him into a social climber whose natural
idealism is finally corrupted by the amoral values of his flock. (Stavola 1979:148)
We are not allowed to forget that both Jay Gatsby and Dick Diver are the
representative figures of the American dream of the 20th century. Both these two men
come from a family with little or no money, but they manage to attend a famous
university Oxford to raise their social positions. When the rising young men are

Discrimination Against Homosexualsandafrican- Americans
Discrimination against homosexuals and African Americans both entail feelings of
shame and pain for the victims. Back in the 1960s, homosexuality and being an
African American caused people to look down on you. Racial segregation was in full
swing, with the black population being victimized, brutalized, and essentially being
considered second class citizens. Being a homosexual during this time also meant
that society would shun and also consider you as a lesser human being. James
Baldwin(1924 1987) was an African Americanwriter, novelist, and playwright who
also happened to be homosexual. An imperative social context to point out would be
the lack of opportunities for the black population along with an accumulation of
criticism.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of self evaluating himself, David chose the convenient path of being married
to a woman he doesn t even love without much of an internal fight. The social
construct of racism also forced affected individuals to choose a path which is
convenient or even safe from all the brutality.
The Fire Next Time is a narrative which is composed of two essays. In the first
essay, Baldwin is writing a message to his nephew and young African Americans in
general describing and evaluating racism from a personal viewpoint in America.
The essay is meant to educate his nephew with the practice of compassion and
patience in these horrible times which endorse this social separation due to
misconception of inferiority. James Baldwin offers an analysis of the causes of
racism, why the concept has perpetuated in the United States, and how African
Americans can positively bring an end to it. A term which was used was the Negro
Problem, which was used at the time to describe the severe racial tension. As the
reader progresses into the work, several relationships are analyzed by James
Baldwin. Through each of these relationships, James Baldwin emphasizes how these
individuals choose to live conveniently and in power falling to the status quo. The
second essay describes Baldwin s personal experience growing up in the Harlem
Ghetto, which
Analysis Of The Movie Hot Seat
A former hacker is trapped in his office with his chair wired to explode if he stands
up and in order to survive he must hack his way into a computer mainframe to open a
vault for an unseen assailant.
STORY COMMENTS
HOT SEAT is a well written thriller that fully engages the audience. It s the type of
script in which one feels as if they are watching the film. The plot is similar to the
concepts used in SPEED and in the film PHONE BOOTH.
In this story, the protagonist finds himself trapped in his office and forced to remain
seated in a chair wired by a bomb. If he stands up, the bomb goes off. The hero is
forced to hack his way into a complicated mainframe to open a vault for a mysterious

He s proactive with trying and failing. There s a nice twist with the reveal of the
perpetrator and a nice climax at the end except for the perpetrator strapping a bomb
vest on an 8 year old. This could be highly disturbing to the audience. Even though
the idea of the other right is skillfully set up, there s a taboo about exploiting
children and seeing an explosive vest on a child could dissuade a producer.
With that said there are other areas worth discussing for possible revisions. However,
even without these possible revisions, the script feels marketable.
The first area worth discussing is the opening scene in central park and the hot dog
cart. It s creative and interesting choice, but highly unrealistic. When first read, one
was not sure of the tone, especially with the description of processed guts and
yumminess. A more realistic scene doesn t involve a hot dog cart, but simply
people strolling in the park, and perhaps some teens or a homeless person find
something like a box and it s a bomb. The idea of the bomber going to the trouble of
getting a hot dog cart is more for dramatic purposes than realistic.
The scene between Jackson and Wally on page 2 isn t the most engaging i.e. their
dialogue. What works is the subtext about Life is chess. You better have a plan A,
B, and C, or game over. On page 28, again, their dialogue doesn t fully engage.
On page 3, a frantic officer tells them that there s an explosion in central park, and
then on page 28,
How Random Are Random Events
Just how random are random events? I was in the third grade when I watched my
grandma place diyas, small cup shaped oil lamps, around the house on Diwali, the
Hindu festival of lights. Because I was too young to light the matches myself, I
would watch my grandma ignite the fire on the matches to light the candles. As an
eight year old fascinated with the idea of pretty lights, I would watch as the flames
danced in random directions, intrigued by the flickering images they were capable
of producing. Surely, I thought, there must be some way to predict their motion?
This curiosity only gained momentum as I grew older. I would turn on the sink tap
and observe the flow of water. I would observe that not only did the shape of the
water continually change with varying streaks and peaks in the outflow, but there
would be subtle changes in the sound that would take place without intervention. It
was amusing and interesting. During summer vacation, while playing soccer in the
garage, I would see rays of light shyly sneaking in through the cracks of the garage
door. These rays would reveal a host of dust particles randomly racing to reach their
destinations. What is the force behind all of this randomness? In science class, I get

outcome at the beginning of any human played game. Although there may be a
strong correlation, I have learned that past performance does not always guarantee

game, not to take pieces for granted, and never to be too comfortable. By playing
numerous chess games, I have contemplated that my outlook on chess games is a
metaphor for my life where I value all people and I am constantly looking for ways

The Formal Relationship And Usage Of An Organization s...
Structure defines the formal relationship and usage of people to accomplish all of
an organization s activities (5). Mercedes Benz is well organized when it comes
down to making sure all organizational activities and jobs are accomplished. It
follows a matrix structure, which is a connection of one type of organization to
another so that two chains of command are directing individual employees. Figure
1.1.shows the main operating companies and how their structure works. The reason
why they follow this structure is because they require large numbers of technical
people with different skills to work in projects as a team. Mercedes works as a
pyramid with top managers on top, middle managers, human resources, finances,
marketing, sales etc. Every department has specific jobs and task to follow,
Corporate Communications/Public Relations job is to manage public relations and
internal communications to retailers, to foster a positive news media environment
for MBUSA, Mercedes Benz, smart USA and Sprinter products, and smart USA
and Sprinter retailers, by cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and
maintaining a positive media image. In the customer service department Whenever
Mercedes Benz owners are in need, customer service is there, 24 hours a day and
seven days a week, to answer their questions, provide solutions to problems, and offer
technical and roadside assistance. Their employees are trained professionals who also

Food Security In America
Food Security in America
When asked the question who in the United states is food insecure? one must first
answer the question of what it means to have food security in America. Food
security is defined by Edelstein (2010) as assured access at all times to enough food
for an active, healthy life, as well as access to enough food that is safe, nutritious,
and acquired in a socially acceptable way. (pg. 71). Hunger would then be
considered the absence of food. According to statistics by the Feeding America
Organization, in 2014 they reported that 48.1 million Americans where considered
to be food insecure, with 32.8 of them being adults while 15.3 were children
(2014). I believe that is also important to characterize where exactly Americans are
more likely to be in this category. These same statistics also showed that there was a
correlation of region when it came to Americans being more food insecure. This
region was shown to be the southern states of the US, as states like Texas, Kentucky
and Louisiana all were in the top ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, there are those that live in city and yet fully understand the concept of being in
said desert. WSB TV in Atlanta posted on their website in 2013 about what
qualifies living in a food desert. The article states By CDC standards, if there is no
grocery store or farmer s market, and no other option within a half mile of a census
block or neighborhood, that s considered a food desert. Many people live in cities
where it is difficult to travel from point A to B, and typically this means not having
a vehicle of sorts to travel to the nearest store. Whether it be a lack of public
transportation or private transportation, the reality that food deserts do exist is
apparent when you see the struggle of families having to make ends meet when it
comes to providing food for their
James Earl Ray s Murder
Yes, I could have won this case because it was endorsed by the FBI as James Earl
Ray being the killer, the case involved someone who was hated in the South. It was
not meant for Ray to have a fair trial where the murder occurred, and biased and
corrupt criminal justice professionals were present throughout the entire
investigation including the FBI. Therefore, whether or not James Earl Ray was
guilty was immaterial to the fact that he was going to be convicted. Many people
doubt the authenticity of his guilt as well as the evidence presented at trial.
However, the 1960s in America, the murder of a black man, even one as prominent
and world renowned as Martin Luther King Jr. could easily be subjected to
corruption and a cover up that involved
The Impact Of The GAA On The Easter Rising
On the 1st of November 1884, a small group of nationalist men which included
Michael Cusack, Maurice Davin and John Wyse Power, amongst others met at Hayes
Hotel in Thurles, County Tipperary. At that short meeting the Gaelic Athletic
Association for the Preservation and Cultivation was founded. From the following
year the Irish Republican Brotherhoodbegan to take a strong interest in the
Association and attempted to take over the Association in its early years, an attempt
that had it succeeded may well have destroyed and ended the Association at that time.
From then the GAA became engrained in the nationalist movement, with WF Mandle
later claiming that by 1914 the GAA could claim to be the single most important
institution in the country,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With all these sources at hand I set out to construct this these which will argue that
not only did the GAA had a great impact on the Easter Rising, but the Easter Rising
also had a great impact on the GAA, in a way that was more positive than maybe
understood and contributed to the Association becoming greater after 1916 than it
had before and therefore becoming the Association that it s founding members had
wanted it to become.
In my construction of this thesis I decided to separate the thesis into five different
chapters which would each deal with different aspects of the GAA before, during and
after the Easter Rising of
The On Hidden Antigen Of Haemonchus Contortus
1. Introduction
The best characterised hidden antigen of Haemonchus contortus, called H11, is a
110 kDa gut membrane glycoprotein (Smith et al., 1993) belonging to the M1
aminopeptidase family. Native H11, isolated from adult H. contortus, had been
evaluated in numerous vaccine experiments in sheep of different breeds, including
very young lambs, and shown to induce high levels of antibody mediated
protection, reflected in (on average) a 90% reduction in faecal egg counts (FECs)
and 75% reduction in worm burdens (reviewed by Newton and Munn, 1999; Newton
and Meeusen, 2003; Knox, 2011). Molecular characterisation showed that H11 is a
microsomal aminopeptidase (Graham et al., 1993; Smith et al., 1997), believed to be
involved in the degradation of small peptides from dietary proteins (Munn and Munn,
2002). At the time, it was proposed that protection was achieved via antibody induced
disruption of nutrient absorption by the worm.
Originally, three isoforms of H11 (designated H11 1, 2 and 3; GenBank accession
nos. AJ249941, AJ249942 and AJ311316, respectively), sharing ~ 61 70% amino acid
sequence identity, were reported (Graham et al., 1993; Hederer et al. 2001, direct
submission to GenBank). Subsequently, two other isoforms (H11 4 and 5) had been
sequenced and deposited in the GenBank database (accession nos. FJ481146 and
X94187) (Smith et al., 1997; Zhou et al., 2010). Although vaccination success was
achieved using purified, native H11, and cDNA clones were patented
The Relations I Have With Siblings Essay
Writing Project One Rough Draft The Relations I have with my siblings are the
most important in my life for many reasons. My family includes my mom five
siblings and I. Being the oldest child comes with great responsibilities and lots of
expectations. When I was eleven I wished I was the youngest because I knew my
younger brothers had the type of life I wanted. No chores just love and laughter
with some video games thrown in. I always held my feelings in and just kept them
to myself, I did not want to be a burden to mom. Looking back, I am truly happy my
wish to be the youngest never came true. I am happy my life turned out to be like
coal that turned into a diamond only; from time and the heavy pressure of
exceptions and responsibility s. I Knew I was loved as a child, but I had so much
responsibility that at times I would quietly resent my mom for placing such a
heavy burden on my tiny shoulders. When all I wanted was to be like other
children, without a care in the world, playing in a playground with the beautiful
sun shining down on us as our childhood minds captured these moments to enjoy
again as adults reminiscing about it as if it was an old video or picture. I
remember keeping my resent locked down and just being a good mommy s helper.
All my sadness fears and things I found to be a challenge would be kept in my
heart. I would find my validation from helping other and putting myself on the back
burner because I felt like I would be too selfish if I just did not

(Figure 2) This module consists of the barriers that affect technology adoption. This
model will be further developed in order to remove the barriers of technology
integration and provide support to integrate technology into ESL curriculum.
Therefore this model will be suitable for integrating technology in Sri Lankan ESL
context.
Implementing the above proposed model will require few steps. The first step is to
identify the necessary plans to provide computers to schools. Second step is Sri
Lankan policy makers need to be aware of providing necessary training for teachers
to be familiar with classroom technology. Not only computer education, but also
teachers pedagogical training is important to motivate the teachers to incorporate
technology into pedagogy.
A future study would be important to consider the impact each of the above factors
has on educational planning. Future researchers must also examine these particular
barriers. Further research would be needed to determine whether the perceived
changes can be quantified to increase student engagement and understanding. Future
research may want to explore teachers access to, not only the technology, but also to
opportunities for professional development focused on integrating technology into
Voltaire s Candide And The Age Of Enlightenment
The Age of Enlightenment was a philosophical and an intellectual movement that
took place in Europe during the 18th century. From the 1600 s to the 1800 s,
philosophers opened a path for independent thought and there were many advances in
the scientific, political, economic, and mathematical realms. Many ideas were
transpiring and people began to mature, becoming less dependent on others. This time
is known for four major components: the idea of freedom of thought, rationality,
progress and humanitarianism. Philosophers such as Thomas Hobbes, John Locke,
Jean Jacques Rousseau, Immanuel Kant, and Voltairewere all major minds that
contributed to the Age of Enlightenment. Voltaire, the author of Candide, wrote
about the positives and negatives impacting a person s life. The plot of the novel
revolves around Candide s journey to find Cunegonde, the supposed love of his life.
Throughout the novel, characters face highs and lows, such as becoming rich, being
scammed, and forced into exile. Using Candide s life and the lives and philosophies
of minor characters, Voltaire satirizes aspects of the Age of Enlightenment, especially
the idea of rationality.
Voltaire is not criticizing the idea of being rational but rather he is criticizing the way
people determine rationality through the philosophies of Pangloss and Martin, while
utilizing the character, Candide, to satirize their thoughts through a crude lens.
Throughout the book, Voltaire emphasizes that Pangloss, a philosopher who
##bolic Implications Of JesusExorcism In The Bible
In the synoptic gospels, Jesus exorcisms are portrayed as one of the major acts in
Jesus mission to the kingdom of God. The gospels not only narrate Jesus casting
out the demons and cleansing the possessed bodies, but also implicitly suggests the
controversy he evokes among the Jewish and Roman authorities of Judea and
Galilee. The context of New Testament Gospels is deeply rooted in the Greco
Roman world and as such paints the background of the Jesus actions and messages.
Several scholarly publications that analyze biblical texts from the social science
perspective have established a relationship between the politics and religion of the
ancient world.
The aim of this paper is to assess the events of demon possession and exorcism
narrated in the Bible not from a theological perspective but from sociopolitical
standpoint. Drawing references from scholarly publications on Bible, this paper
would investigate the symbolic meanings of Jesus exorcism in socio political sphere
of Galilee and Judea at the very beginning of the first century. This paper heavily
relies upon the concepts proposed by Amanda Witmer in her publication Jesus, the
Galilean Exorcist, His Exorcisms in Social and Political Context.
The historically accurate reconstruction of Jesus is extremely improbable. This is
largely due to the limited quantity of resources survived and those that do, New
Testament Gospels, are written under the lens of religious followers. As such, there
exists great challenge in
Essay about Importance of Punctuality in the Military
Punctuality Punctuality is a very important part of military life for several
reasons. one reason is that if someone is late for a patrol or convoy that patrol or

make whoever your relieving have to stay at work for longer than they are

whatever work that person does would be sub par and not up to standards because
of lack of sleep. Punctuality also shows your chain of command that you are

be your fault that your battle can t perform his duties to the best of his ability. Your
battle buddies credability could also start to slip in the eyes of your chain of
command because of lack of motivation or professionalism at work. Being Punctual
shows your chain of command that you are dependable. they can count on you to
follow orders and be where you are supposed to be at the right place at the right
time. Doing this lead to them trusting you with a little more responsibility as time
goes on. being late however shows them that you can not be relied on to do
anything if you cant even be somewhere on time. being on time is the easiest thing
to do in the military andif you cant even do that how is your chain of command
supposed to trust you with anything else? Being punctual also shows your chain of
command that you have the discipline to be somewhere when you are supposed to.
Having the discipline to follow orders shows them as you spend more time in the
military that just maybe your ready for that next promotion or to be put in to go to
the board so you can become an NCO yourself. On the other hand not being punctual
shows them that you have no discipline, which makes them have to limit the things
you are allowed to do even when your off duty for the day because if they cant trust

Nivolumab Case Study
Opdivo (nivolumab)
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States, having been
diagnosed more than 224,000 times and causing more than 159,000 deaths in 2014,
the FDA claims. NSCLC is the most common type, affecting seven of eight people
with lung cancer.
A new drug has come out for treatment of metastatic squamous non small cell lung
cancer. Opdivo (nivolumab) the company that came out with it is Bristol Myers
Squibb. The approval came March 2015 for public use and became available on the
market for consumer purchase. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of
Opdivo (nivolumab) has given the drug and expanded base of usage to include
advanced non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the agency said in a news release. ...

The first thing we will want to review is the mechanism of action: Nivolumab is an
inhibitory ligand blocking antibody against the programmed death receptor. In
contrast to traditional chemotherapies and targeted anti cancer therapies, which exert
their effects by direct cytotoxic or tumor growth inhibition, nivolumab acts by
blocking a negative regulator of T cell activation and response thus allowing the
immune system to attack the tumor.[5][6] This is an example of immune checkpoint
blockade. The indications of nivolumab is indicated for the treatment of patients with
metastatic squamous non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with progression on or
after platinum based chemotherapy . There are a few cautions that need to be
addressed immune mediated pneumonitis, melanoma, immune mediated colitis,
hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, immune mediated nephritis and renal
dysfunction just to name a few. Immune mediated colitis reported; withhold for
moderate or severe and permanently discontinue for life threatening colitis. Immune
mediated hepatitis observed in clinical trials; monitor for changes in liver function;
withhold for moderate and permanently discontinue for severe or life threatening
transaminase or total bilirubin elevation. Immune mediated nephritis and renal
dysfunction may occur; monitor for changes in renal function; withhold for moderate
and permanently discontinue for severe or life threatening serum creatinine elevation.
Immune mediated hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism reported; monitor for
changes in thyroid function and initiate thyroid hormone replacement as needed.
Other clinically significant immune mediated adverse reactions (eg, rash,
encephalitis) can occur after therapy discontinuation. Severe infusion reactions

Whats Eating Gilbert Grape Research Paper
What s Eating Gilbert Grape
In the film What s Eating Gilbert Grape, the main character Gilbert takes on the
Father Role to support his family economically and financially. The fact Gilbert is
the man of the house causes him to repress his anger. His sorrow begins to strengthen
his rage in a very unhealthy manner. The melancholy that leads to Gilberts weakening
has its roots in his family which is what begins to eat Gilbert alive. All his family
members play important individual roles in finding out what s eating Gilbert Grape.

In the film, Amy, being the eldest sibling and daughter of the Grapes, plays the
Mother Role having to take care of the household. My older sister Amy is more
like a mother , explains Gilbert, making him portray the Father Figure ; as he
states, My father built this house, and it s my job to do the repairs. Amy being the
voice of reason tries her best to keep the family together, which causes Gilbert to
repress his feelings the more Amy tells him he has to do better . In the scene when
Gilbert leaves Arnie in the bathtub overnight, causes a fright to the family; which is
when Amy begins to tell him, You gotta do better because without his help the
family will fall apart quickly. This builds up Gilbert s emotion because he knows just
as Amy he has an important role in the family to fill in.
Ellen, the youngest of the siblings, concentrates on appearances, specifically hers.
While the family is eating dinner, Ellen begins to chew with her mouth open
which disgusts Gilbert. He tells Ellen to close her mouth when she is eating, to
which Ellen responds sarcastically, Oh. Okay Dad. Sure thing, Dad. This
aggravates Gilbert because for him it is an insult to be compared to such a man.
Gilbert s job is to support his family financially yet Ellen s character seems to make
Gilbert feel guilty and responsible for all the bad things
The Three Concepts Of Teacher Efficacy
Bandura (1977) has defined Teacher Efficacy as a type of Self Efficacy in which
people construct belief about their capacity to perform at a given level of attainment.
This type of Self Efficacy is future oriented and influences thought patterns and
emotions. According to this theory, Efficacy may be easily influenced early in learning
, so the first years of teaching could be critical to the long term development of
Teacher Efficacy.
Tschannen Moran et al., (1998) Teachers sense of Efficacy is related to student

If well managed, classrooms can become places of freedom to learn and can provide
safety for students. If not distracted, students can attend to instruction and further
their long term memory for retrieving information when taking examinations, doing
assignments, and studying. Such an environment can obviously reduce the number
low achieving students. Unfortunately, little research exists regarding teacher self
efficacy for Classroom Management. According to Woolfolk, Rosoff, and Hoy

Kohlberg
Customized Learning Theory Learning has been studied by numerous psychologist
and theories over the years by men and women around the world such as Jean Piaget,
Lev Vygotsky, and Lawrence Kohlberg. These theorists and psychologists studied
ways to improve teaching and motivating children in learning. The study on how
children are learning is important for both the teacher and the student. You shall teach
them diligently to your children, and shall talk to them when you sit in your house,
and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise
(Deuteronomy 6:7, English Standard Version, 2017). Teaching the children is the
responsibility as a Christian. As the time passes, it appears that these theories and
approaches to learning are revolutionized as well. The Bible is the most consistent
guidance in learning theory that never appears to change.
Learning Theory and Its Importance Children that knows his or her assignment are

inclined to continuing his or her involvement in learning. The eyes of your

Problems Faced By People Right, And Do The Right Thing
Essay
Problems in America Treat people right, and do the right thing, is something I have
been taught as a young child. Being clueless child that I was, I had no idea what
was going on in America and the problems we had to deal with. I thought America
was this perfect place, when in reality, it s not. People don t treat each other with
respect, nor do they do what is morally right. The United Statesis trying to make our
country a better place, but it s taking time for all the changes to happen. America is
facing many problems that have or could affect our country in a negative way
including, inequality, unqualified politicians, and terrorism.
Inequality
A problem that America is facing is inequality which include racial differences
between Africans Americans and whites and also gender differences between males
and females. In America, we all assume that everyone has freedom , but in reality
that it isn t true. Right now the African Americans are fighting for their rights
because they feel that they don t have the rights and freedom that white people do. A
contribution that African Americans have set up was Black Lives Matter and it
states that it goes beyond extrajudicial killings of Black people by police and
vigilantes (Black Lives Matter). The movement started when Trayvon Martin got
murdered by George Zimmerman. Trayvon Martin was a Aftrican American teenage
and was shot by white police officer and killed. Recently, many other shootings have

The Look, By Nancy Leigh Demoss
Many women consider modesty to be an outdated principle founded on legalistic
ideas and a promotion of chauvinism. Although this is the prevailing thought within
society, it could not be farther from the truth. In The Look, a book written by Nancy
leigh Demoss, she explains the misconceptions people have about modestyand
explains what it truly is: an intentional representation of Christ through every aspect
of our lives. I have had a fairly decent view of modesty growing up, and I have
always held it in high regards when it comes to clothing, yet I failed to realize that it
is a matter of the heart and not just about the clothes that I wear. Demoss book has
provided me with a new understanding of modesty, as well as how to apply it.
Through my reading, the most influential piece of information that I have learned is
that God does care about a woman s modesty in the areas of dress, intent, and
appearance.
A Woman s Dress Before I explain the importance of why a woman should dress
modestly, I believe that it is important to address why a woman should dress. In
Genesis 3 we find the story of the fall of man: Adam and Eve sinned against God and
broke the relationship between Him and them. When Adam and Eve broke their
relationship with God it allowed for sin to enter the earth, which opened their eyes to
their own nakedness. After realizing that they were exposed they sewed fig leaves
together to make clothing, but it only covered their private parts, not their bodies. God
Art History And Its Impact On Art
Art history allows for a greater understanding of the progression of human thought
and how conditions from one time period to another are reflected in art. Humanity
represents itself through art and by doing so we are able to take a deeper look into
the mentality and emotions that were held within a certain time period. Human
studies such as cultural studies or history only highlight small specific areas of
humanity while art history combines the two and gives a comprehensive look into
all factors that influenced not only the art of a certain time but the events that
influenced certain styles. Through the study of art history we are able to see the
different events that caused shifts in prospective and influenced changes in art
styles. For example the iconoclasm during the protestant reformation drastically
altered the type of art that was being produced and greatly limited forward
progression of certain styles. All images of God, Jesus, and any other paintings or
sculptures that depicted images of false idols were destroyed or removed from view.
In ancient Egypt, the carved visages of some pharaohs were obliterated by their
successors. The destruction of art was used as a way to influence ideas through out a
community of people. By limiting the growth of art, the recorded history of
Christianity was greatly altered. Humanity is constantly changing and evolving in
relation to its surroundings as viewed through the study of art. Art is all

Bullying In Schools Essay
Bullying in Schools: Every second and minute of the day a kid is bullied. Bullying
is something that is not only happening here in the U.S. but all over the world. We
need to put a stop to! As parents, school educators, and a community we need to
stand up to bullies and give kids who are being bullied an outlet to reach out for help.
According to No Bully.com bullyingis defined as a form of repeated aggression that
is directed by one or more people towards another person. One of the biggest
problems facing our school kids today is bullying. A typical schoolchild has a nearly
25 percent chance of being involved in bullying on school grounds, teasing or

Whatever forms the bullying takes and also regardless of the content, just about
every bullying victim reports that they feel worse about themselves after they have
been bullied. Especially in our young and developing children, self esteem is critical;
5) Victims of bullying have much higher absenteeism levels than that of normal
children. Obviously the more time spent away from classes and work not only limits
their education and achievement but also takes them out of the necessary social
circles, stopping them from making new friends, benefiting from the support of
current friends and learning how to actually deal with these bullies. These statics are
outrageously high. Our kids shouldn t have to live in fear of going to school to get
an education.
A bully isn t born a bully. Parents need to step up and help stop the bullying from an
early age. Children who engage in aggressive bullying behavior have problems at
home or are not getting enough attention and guidance from their parents. If
parents take the time to help their children, we might very well get rid of the
bullying problems in school. Parents need to take an active role in their child s
lives. As parents we need to teach our children that name calling isn t right or there
are different ways to solve your problems with your classmates, violence is never the
answer. We need to hold our kids accountable, if they see one of their friends being
bullied then they need to stand up for their friend

The diagram is a depiction of loading a skipper, a small boat designed to deposit

officers, distinguished by their blue coats, are recording the results. I picked this
diagram to use and relate to commerce, because the strength in London trading lied
in several aspects that are represented in the presentation. This has clear implications
and can be used to give analysis on commerce in Victorian London. In order to
demonstrate this, I would like to focus on three specific objects, and how each of
them relate to commerce, within the diagram: the containers that are being loaded,
the sigil in the middle of the picture, and the officers in the picture. The barrels that
are being used contain various items judging from the different types of containers.

This is the sigil that represents the City of London, which is the inner and distinct
city, similar to the relationship of Vatican City and Rome. There are two important
things about this fact: the first being that the City of London is the epicenter for
international trade and commerce and the relationship between commerce and the
picture indicates that the cargo is inspected there. The City of London is the area in
London where commerce and trade were negotiated; this is in part due to its own tax
system that tries to incentivize working their; the museum included the detailed sigil
then to demonstrate the importance of commerce on the City of London. Another
reason this sigil is included is because, until the 19th century, The Port of London
handled all shipping. The creators of the diagram, then, wanted the museum goer to
recognize the importance of commerce upon the City of London by including this

STAR WARS POPULARITY IS MIND BLOWING
It is truly amazing to think that an organization as big as NASA is even talking
about Star Wars. Star Wars has truly become a global phenomenon and I do not
think people realize how widespread it is. The upcoming movie is only helping

new level of popularity. That is almost hard to imagine.

Outsourcing of Aviation Maintenance Practices and the Effects of Globalization

May 16, 2016 Abstract
Within the aviation industry outsourced maintenance practices have become
increasingly more prevalent to maintain current assets. There is generally three
processes currently being utilized by the airline industry: outsourcing specific
maintenance needs, in house operations, and lastly, a hybrid approach, which entails
a combination of outsourcing and in house. How these are applied and to what extent
are driven by each company and their own unique needs. This paper compares and
contrasts the advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing maintenance practices as
well as the effects of globalization on the airline industry. Outsourcing of Aviation
Maintenance Practices and the Effects of Globalization
Outsourcing is defined as the process utilized when a company decides to subcontract
its business processes or functions to another company; therefore, instead of hiring
employees to perform a task, the company (outsourcer) enters into an outsourcing
arrangement with another firm to provide these services under contract for a certain
price and period (Motiwalla Thompson, 2012, p.268). This paper expands on the
notions of outsourcing and the effects it has had on the airline industry by briefly
discussing the advantages and disadvantages associated with outsourcing and the
effects of globalization on the
Sports Are A Huge Part Of The World s History
Sports are a huge part of the world s history. Anyone can look in a textbook or on
the internet and see that sports have been played for a long time, whether they be
competitive or recreational. Sports bring people of different beliefs, cultures, and
races together. Sports are something that can help people to forget the problems
that are happening in an increasingly scary world. While sports are great and the
athletes that perform for these crowds are dedicated to putting on a show, there are
some athletes that feel they need a competitive edge over the other players to truly
shine in some of the greatest spotlights in the world. These players go on to lead
their league in certain statistics in a year, or even start to work their way up the
record books. Not all athletes do this the ethical way however. Some athletes turn to
performance enhancing drugs, otherwise known as PEDs, to help them gain that
edge over the other athletes. There are issues that are occurring regularly in the
sporting world due to athletes taking PEDS. The playing field becomes quite
uneven for athletes, on and off the field. Another issue that arises when PEDs are
discussed is whether players should be able to make the decision for themselves
whether to take the performance enhancing drug or not. Lastly, a big issue that is
talked about is whether PEDs are effecting the history of sports and damaging the
past players achievements. How can these issues disappear? The answer is to close

The agency noted that the delays set off a number of quarrels between customers and
low cost carriers for failing to provide satisfactory explanations or solutions. At other
times, the website reported, the carriers didn t make staff available to answer

The carriers were accused of being poor problem solvers, as they usually informed
passengers of the delays or cancellation at the last possible minute, and repeatedly
changed flight times.
Many passengers complained to local media about a tendency for local airlines to
only inform passengers of cancellations a couple hours before the scheduled
departure time or after they have waited a couple hours at the airport.
When the carriers sent text messages to passengers about the delays, they did not

Worse still, many passengers at the airport were not provided with food while
waiting for their flights to be resumed.
Lack of proper punishments seems to be a problem in the country s aviation industry,

The Theme Of Romance And Romance In Romeo And Juliet
Romance and tragedy have captivated readers throughout the ages. These story
elements have gripped us, appealing to deep instincts and emotions. Romance
could be defined as a relationship between two lovers, in which a passionate
emotional attachment or involvement are there between both individuals.
Shakespeare s Romeo Juliet has been one of the major plays that explored love and
romance. Post modern novels, The Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins bring
romance and love with an action packed plot. Collins s Hunger Games clearly drew
her ideas from Shakespeare s Romeo Juliet, since the Hunger Games showed a lot of
enduring themes in which Romeo Juliet has these kinds of themes. Shakespeare
himself borrowed themes from Greek tragedies and traditions (Schwartz). In fact

Obviously Romeo Juliet has the sense of romance throughout the story and such
occurrence really shows in parts where Romeo started to take notice on Juliet and
sudden commotion of feelings in both individuals propels the plot. Romance is
very common in this novel, for instance in the novel, Juliet would do anything to
be with Romeo again. I gave thee mine before thou dids request it, And yet I would
it were to given again (Shakespeare). These words that Juliet spoke shows how
indeed Juliet would do anything until she pledges her love even before Romeo
asked her. She wouldn t want to disappoint Romeo by not trying to marry Paris.
Paris also admires and loves Juliet; this really pushes the idea of love and romantic
relationships in the characters. The plot of this novel is really a romantic tragedy
since at the end both lovers died because they desperately wanted to be together,
however this would be impossible due to the feud. Basically the family feud is
responsible for the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. Had there not been a family
feud, there would have been no need for Romeo and Juliet to hide their

is the fundamental basis under which lies various identity surrounded disputes within
modern communities. The influence of the Spanish conquest on Native Americans
and their struggle to reconstruct their identity today, and the Ayodhya dispute
between the Hindu and Muslim people depicts the consequences of the Western idea

The past is used to form and reinforce group identities, and physical things are used
as evidence of national identity, and powerful symbols of a civilization s impact on
an area . The Babri mosque stood as a religious symbol of Muslim national identity,
and for the Hindu community, a denial of their religious heritage. Since 1947, Hindus
have tried to prove that the first Mughal emperor, Babur, destroyed a temple for their
deity: Rama, and in its place built the mosque. In 1942, Hindu nationalists destroyed
the Mosque, and the riots that broke out in India and Bangladesh contributed to over
three thousand deaths. The destruction of the symbolic site was the Hindu nationalist
s attempt to erase Muslim national identity from India, to assert control over the
civilization they considered to be their subordinates. Excavatory efforts in 1990
unearthed sculptures that the Hindus believed to be of Rama. In 2003, upon court

the court of India divided the site into three parts, the Hindus receiving two thirds of

second piece that depicts propaganda in Mesopotamia is the Head of the Akkadian
ruler , from Nineveh, Iraq, ca. 2250 2200 BCE. The hollow cast sculpture made
with Cooper is believed to be an Akkadian king. The sculpture demonstrates
propaganda in Mesopotamian art because it reflects the idea of absolute monarchy,
and focuses on the kings, instead of the city state. However, the head was
vandalized as its eyes were gouged, and its beard and nose were slashed by the
Medes because they were opposers of the absolute monarchy. In addition, another
example of propaganda in Mesopotamia is the Votive disk of Enheduanna , from Ur,
Iraq, ca. 2300 2275, in which the Alabaster disks represents the daughter of King
Sargon, Enheduanna in which the cuneiform inscriptions which mentions that she is

A very well known dispute that The Supreme Court had to deal with is Plessy v.
Ferguson. On June 7, 1892 a thirty year old man by the name of Homer Plessy was
detained for sitting in the white car of the East Louisiana Railroad. Plessy was
very light complected, he could have been been thought out to be white . Despite
his color completion, by law he was still considered to be black . Despite the
dispute of his color completion he had to move back where he belonged , with the
colored people. When Louisiana passed the Separate Car Act, legally segregating
common carriers in 1892, a black civil rights organization decided to challenge the
law in the courts. Plessey deliberately sat in the white section and identified himself
as black; therefore, he was then arrested. The case was very well known throughout
the country that the case went all the way to the United States Supreme
Can India Sustain Its Present Economic Growth Rate
Can India sustain its present economic growth rate?
India is an emerging economy that is witnessing unprecedented levels of economic
expansion. It is widely expected that India may overtake China as the world s
fastest growing major economy by 2015. However it is not easy to sustain high
levels of economic growth rates. There were a number of countries that experienced
a high economic growth rate but were unable to sustain it for a long period of time.
In order to determine whether India can sustain its economic growth rate we need to
study the various factors that create an impact on India s economy.
There are several factors that have positive impact on India s economic growth rate.
The first is India s demography. India is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The literacy rate of India is only 66%. Shortage of skill aggravates the problem of
developing the infrastructure (Chrystal amp; Lipsey, 2003). Builders, electricians and
plumbers are often scarce.
Nevertheless, Indian government is trying its level best to tackle these problems.
Efforts are under way to get the private sector involved in building world class
infrastructure. The skill shortage, too, is being addressed. The literacy rate is rising
quickly. Among 15 24 years old, it is over 80%. In an attempt to curb corruption and
make India more business friendly, several reforms are being introduced. All these
corrective efforts coupled with the favorable factors will ensure that India will be
able to sustain its current economic growth rate.

Human Security And The Security Of A State
When it comes to the security of a state, more traditional perspectives place security
of the state above the security of its people. A direct opposition would be a less
traditional perspective that the state should protect its most valuable asset, the people.
Before comparing human security topics and traditional securitytopics, both must be
explained because incorporation of human security to traditional security values
causes mass tension. In the most basic of definitions, human security is keeping the
people free from any ridicule, discrimination or terror that they may encounter. While
human security is key to the function of a state, the issue should not be implemented
to be covered by traditional security topics. Security as a whole, should be more
specific to state security and human security. Security of one should not trump nor
take away from the security of another. Both the state and the people or co dependant
and the safety of both is key to the progression of a state.
These contradictory perspectives create tension between the state and the people
making security decisions very difficult. The inability to determine a distinction
between hard security, a more fundamental and more access based way of security.
This applies to the intricate system of encryption and data restrictions that the state
enforces. A soft security standpoint would apply to more awareness bases ways of
providing security. Soft security uses the people as its driving force and its
Staphylococcus aureas versus Methicillin Resistant...
From Staphylococcus aureus to MRSA
Abstract
I investigated the difference between Staphylococcus aureas and its super bacteria
form of Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureas. I used books, websites, and
scholarly projects to understand the topic at a molecular level. After researching
penicillin, Staphylococcus aureas, and Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureas, I
found that both the drug and the bacteria use enzymes as their defense and attack
mechanism. Penicillin uses a Гџ lactam ring as a substrate to clog the active site of
transpeptidase, and in defense, the bacteria uses Гџ lactamase to break down the Гџ
lactam ring. I hope to continue research on super bacteria to determine whether or not

B lactam Antibiotics and Bacteria
To understand how MRSA works against antibiotics, we must first look at the cell
wall and how antibiotics work. The cell wall is designed to maintain the cell s
shape and to keep the inner workings of the bacteria safe. Without a cell wall, the
bacteria could not survive. The wall of a bacterial cell can fit into two major
categories: gram positive and gram negative. Staphylococcus aureas is a common
example of a gram positive bacteria. Gram positive bacteria is made up of polymer
layers of peptidoglycan connected by amino acid bridges. Peptidoglycan is a
polymer made of Nacetylglucosamine and N acetyl muraminic acid, or for the
purpose of convenience,
NAG and NAMA. [6] These layers of polymers are cross linked with amino acids
as shown in the diagram below. The polymers are connected and layered by an
enzyme known as transpeptidase. The enzyme is responsible for catalyzing the
reaction that cross links the cell wall to make it strong.[1] Making the cell wall is
easily one of the most basic and essential processes that takes place.
[6]
Penicillin and Methicillin, two antibiotics used to treat Staphylococcus aureas, are
known as Гџ lactam antibiotics. They prevent the bacteria from forming a cell
wall.[1] The
NAM of the peptidoglycan leaves residue of D alanyl D alanine which bind to the
transpeptidase in order to cross link the chain. Гџ lactam antibiotics
Outlawing The 8th Amendment
The constitution says nothing pertaining to capital punishment, thus the supreme
court left the decision up to individual states to decide what to do with their residents.
Some states, such as Michigan, do not partake in the death penalty. Eighteen states
have completely outlawed the act, and many more have not executed a person in over
a decade. This permissible act is degrading to human dignity and violates the eighth
amendment. This amendment states that the federal government is not allowed to
impose excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishment upon United
States citizens, yet every state was given the power to execute its occupants if they
are involved in a wrongdoing of sorts. The sentencing process is too significant
Next Level Education
Marie and Howard Dahn obvious know the value of next education. The very
reason why they ask this is to see if the person writing the essay knows that reason
or has their own. I believe I have come up the many reasons for why I value a next
level of education. I believe one of the many reasons is knowledge, the creation of
new bonds, and in general to experiencenew things. These are the some of the
reasons why I believe next level educationis important. Like I previously said,
Knowledge is a big reason why the next level of education is really important.
Knowledge of course doesn t have to be being the most intelligent in the world. It s
about learningnew things and applying them or knowing why it affects your day to
day life. A more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I still think that Mrs. and Mr. Dahn would agree with my claims. If I were just to
say that a next level of education is only important only getting your degree then
that would be ignoring the other benefits. Which are knowledge, the creation of new
bonds, and experiencing new things. In a next level of education you will meet
some people who will teach you new things and vice versa. You might find someone
really inspiring that will be a sort of encouragement to continue to succeed. Of course
the end goal is to have a more educated community and experts in many fields to
create more advancements for humankind. That s the end goal for humankind, it s to
advancements and make the world

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen

from God s Word, I was reminded by my Professor this week of one of my favorite
verses from the book of Isaiah. Interestingly enough, before I began my venture into
higher education, I was scared: scared of failure, scared of the commitment it would
require, and even scared of the possibility that I just might not be cut out for the task
ahead. This verse, Isaiah 41:10, along with several other Scriptures, helped to assure

Just as 1 Corinthians 13:11 reminds us, When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I
understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away
childish things, even my style of learning has changed. Until this semester, I would
say that of course I had the characteristics to be a successful online student; how
hard could it be? But, ironically, during the same week that I first read Taormino s
article, I began to fall behind in my classes. As I write this paper, I m juggling extra
duties at home while my wife and I both recover from a nasty car accident.
Fortunately neither of us were seriously hurt, but because my wife already suffers
from a chronic autoimmune disease, even her minor injuries were enough to throw
her into a painful exacerbation. What does this have to do with my online education?
Well, everything, to be honest. All of the time I normally had set aside for my
coursework must now be devoted to the daily management of our home (things that
my wife usually takes care of). It s astonishing how quickly time gets away from us! I
ve learned through this series of unfortunate events that I must take control of my
time, rather than allowing it to take control of me. As Taormino asserts, Students need
to plan their time accordingly to have sufficient opportunity to complete assignments
and work iteratively based on feedback. Without time
Preserving And Developing A National Identity
Preserving and developing a national identity in China has been and continues to be
an ongoing commitment, most notably since the seventeenth century. A nation is an
imagined community consisting of a so called myth of common descent, where those
who contribute to society share a common experience. The concept of a national
identity is crucial in understanding the history of Chinaas it developed into a nation.
Factors that have been established to define identity can consist of the following: the
relation one has to a specific territory; the government system; religions; ideologies
and beliefs; and importantly, in China, the relationship between government and class
social structures. Moreover, the notion of ethnic identity surfaces... Show more

With the conquest of the Manchus over the Ming Empire during the transition from
the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, the loss of ones native identity was on the
line. The preservation of national identity was critical for both the Han and the
Manchus. Manchus feared in losing their national identity in which they ensured to
preserve their shamanism: the notion of having a spiritual death and rebirth, thus
going into a supernatural world where they could then influence events (Schoppa,
36). With the Manchus fighting for the recognition and preservation of their national
identity, they would perform their shamanic rituals in the city, such as in the
Forbidden City, along with enforcing tactics that would prevent the Manchus and the
Chinese mainlanders to associate with one another closely. However, at a point, as
Schoppa elaborated, the Manchus conformed and [bought themselves] into Chinese
culture (Schoppa, 26). By doing so, the political and social contributers of the empire
felt as if their identity was on the line.
Moreover, during the reign of the Qian long Emperor, when China peaked with its
wealth and power, when it was in its prime of commercialization and urbanization,
was when it led to more social development, and an increase in population. This
urbanization and social development due to increasing population was a large
contributor to the dissolving national identity of China (Schoppa, 35). During this
period, in the

saying his wife that hurry up the temple will be closed in 15 minutes. I surprised
hearing those words from that guy, I thought there are so many people come here to

was full of people because it was Sunday. All the religious programs happen at the

After took out my shoes I start walking toward the main temple and I saw people

  • 2. I Want To Intern At Elkhart General Hospital Helping others in need is something that I have always been passionate about. For as long as I can remember I have always stated that I wanted to do something in the healthcare field. At first it was a doctor but over the past 12 years of school it has shifted to nursing. I have the amazing opportunity to intern at Elkhart General Hospitalthis year and it has changed my outlook on the healthcare field. I never had first hand experience with anything in the medical field until this year and every day I am shocked at what I learn, even just by observing. From age 5 15 I wanted to be a doctor because I saw them as the pros and as people who knew everything about the human body. The first week I stepped into the hospital and followed nurses I
  • 3. Jude the Obscure Jude the Obscure Theme Analysis of Marriage Thomas Hardy, the author of Jude the Obscure, focuses on multiple themes throughout his book including social order and higher learning which is mainly seen in the first part of the book. Jude, a working class boy aiming to educate himself, dreams of a high level education at a university, but is pushed away by the cruel and rigid social order. In the second part of the book, Jude abandons his idea of entering Christminster and the focus shifts to Sue. The themes of love, marriage, freedom replace the earlier theme of education and idealism. Hardy pushes each of these themes to his audience and challenges everyday ideology by his audacious story about Jude Hawley. Hardy begins an argument ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, he is an extremely patient and liberal husband. Sue s views on marriage should not necessarily be connected with Hardy s. Hardy himself points out her emotional inconsistency, and there are several signs that she is not really cut out for marriage. In Part V, both Jude s and Sue s divorces come through, but Sue avoids their possible marriage. She calls marriage a sordid contract and a hopelessly vulgar institution, and she fears that an iron contract should extinguish all tenderness between them, reinforcing Hardy s negative view of the nature of marriage. Most of Sue s views on marriage are given in parts V and VI. She feels that the contractual nature of it will kill all impulse and romance; it is foreign to a man s nature to go on loving a person when he is told that he must and shall be a person s lover, (193). The visit to the unclean registry office in part V, chapter 4 is horrifying for her, and she shows abhorrence to the ordinary church wedding. She sees it in terms of a sacrifice of the bride: the flowers in the bride s hand are sadly like the garland which decked the heifers of sacrifice in olden times, (215). Sue s views on marriage are rather extreme, and they represent a push away from the norms of marriage. Hardy also raises some valid arguments of the overly rigid attitude of society towards the unmarried and the unconventional. Phillotson s
  • 4. Lala Lajpat Rai Ashely Newsome Period 7 Avid Mrs.McGough Lala Lajpat Rai Thesis: Lala Lajpat Rai was an all around freedom fighter for India. He wanted them to be free from British rule. He protested openly and was arrested several times, and eventually killed during a protest. He fought bravely and faithfully for what he believed in, he fought for what he thought was wrong and the ways to make it right. India for a long time had grown tired of British rule, and they wanted to run their own country. They fought hard and protested with little to no success, until one man came onto the scene, his name was Lala Lajpat Rai. His goal was to reform Indian Policy through political tactics and through his writings. Lala focused on peaceful movements to create ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Punjab was adversely affected by the commission because the Arya Samaj was extremely active in the field of education. After the commission, it became impossible for the people to have any say in their children s education. Lala declared that The Government, by these new regulations, has made it almost impossible for the Private Education Societies to start schools or improve them. People are compelled to conclude that the Government does not want to spend money for educational work, nor can they endure that Indians should voluntarily undertake this work by spending money, unless the Indians hand over their money and efforts to the Government. It would have been impossible for institutions like the Metropolitan College, Calcutta College, Fergusson College, Poona and D.A.V. College to come into existence under the present policies. Lala dove headlong in the struggle against division of Bengal. Along with Surendra Nath Banerjea, Bipin Chandra Pal and Arvinda Ghosh, he aroused Bengal and the nation in a vigorous campaign of swadeshi. The British Government claimed that partition would make administering the region easier. The leaders saw through this excuse as the age old British policy of divide and rule at work. Lala was arrested on May 3, 1907 for creating turmoil in Rawalpindi. Lala went there when he learned that five prominent Indian lawyers had been served notices by the Deputy Commissioner. The
  • 5. Conflicts Of Power In King Of The Bingo Game By Ralph Ellison The chillingly strange fiction, King of the Bingo Game by Ralph Ellison explores how the unnamed protagonist has difficulties determining the differences between reality and his unreal fate. The unnamed protagonist circulates the madness and obsession for power throughout his veins that he is receiving from the spinning bingo wheel. In the beginning of the story, Ellison condemns the way the unnamed protagonist struggles to find hope from his own society, where he cannot even have an identity of his own, and deals with developing racial conflicts. In the middle of the story King of the Bingo Game , Ellison depicts a powerless protagonist allowing a reflection on conflicts between the Black and White. Using Ellison s writing fluency, the story deepens the empathy toward the outcasted individuals and easily projects the messages that Blacks in Harlem can only have the power when they are close to death. One of the key factors that Ellison defines in the King of the Bingo Game is differences between the Black society of the north and south; Ellison develops a society where a person holds the feeling of not fitting in. In the short story, the unnamed protagonist defines the lives of the southern Blacks in the northern United States. In fact, the unnamed protagonist contrasts where he used to stay in North Carolina with Harlem: Folks down South stuck together that way; they didn t even have to know you. But up here it was different. Ask somebody for something, and
  • 6. Professional Counselors For The State Of Alabama Essay Introduction Professional counselors have to meet distinct requirements set by individual states. This work focuses on the requirements counselors have to meet in the state of Alabama. The difference between licensure, certification, and accreditation will be highlighted. The state has two levels of counseling license; the associate licensed counselor, and the licensed professional counselor (LPC). Licensed counselors in other states can apply for licensure through endorsement. Criteria and Standards to becoming a LPC Educational Requirements The initial step to becoming a LPC in the state is to complete a graduate level educational program at an accredited college. In any instances that the program is not accredited by either of these councils, it must be the equivalent. About 48 semester hours of coursework are expected of each candidate. • 7. Autism Refers To A Neuron Developmental Condition, Which Autism refers to a neuron developmental condition, which impedes the normal child s growth and progress within a social setting. According to Tzanakaki et al., an autistic individual finds it challenging to interact with other people and cannot relate to societal norms ably (63). Health practitioners believe that failure of neuron synaptic networks in the brain to develop in a normal way owing to chromosomal deficiency causes autism. The symptoms and signs of autism become visible right from infancy. For autistic patients, their cognitive processes are inhibited because their neuron synaptic junctions are underdeveloped. Secondly, autism is a highly inheritable disease. The Medical Research Council (MRC) based in the United Kingdom pinpoints that the genetic effect on autism ranges between 74 to 98% according to their study involving 258 twins (Hill et al. 15). They used both dizygotic and monozygotic twins raised within the same environmental setting by their parents. Dizygotic refers to twins that result from fertilization of two different eggs by two different sperms while monozygotic refers to twins that result from one egg fertilization by one sperm. The outcomes of the study indicate that if one identical twin suffers from the autism spectrum condition, there is approximately 76% probability that the other twin could be diagnosed with it (Biederman et al. 79). However, fraternal twins, a pair of twins of the same sex but not necessarily alike resulting from fertilization of two separate ova, exhibited a low prevalence rate. The proportion of fraternal twins with autism was 18% for girl boy pairs and 34% for the same sex twins (Jeste and Geschwind 77). This population based twin illustration signifies the role played by genetics and most importantly opens up the likelihood of health practitioners getting a better understanding of the autism condition. Correspondingly, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a family whose first child has autism has a 5% possibility that the second child would also have autism

  • 9. Discrimination Against Homosexualsandafrican- Americans Discrimination against homosexuals and African Americans both entail feelings of shame and pain for the victims. Back in the 1960s, homosexuality and being an African American caused people to look down on you. Racial segregation was in full swing, with the black population being victimized, brutalized, and essentially being considered second class citizens. Being a homosexual during this time also meant that society would shun and also consider you as a lesser human being. James Baldwin(1924 1987) was an African Americanwriter, novelist, and playwright who also happened to be homosexual. An imperative social context to point out would be the lack of opportunities for the black population along with an accumulation of criticism.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead of self evaluating himself, David chose the convenient path of being married to a woman he doesn t even love without much of an internal fight. The social construct of racism also forced affected individuals to choose a path which is convenient or even safe from all the brutality. The Fire Next Time is a narrative which is composed of two essays. In the first essay, Baldwin is writing a message to his nephew and young African Americans in general describing and evaluating racism from a personal viewpoint in America. The essay is meant to educate his nephew with the practice of compassion and patience in these horrible times which endorse this social separation due to misconception of inferiority. James Baldwin offers an analysis of the causes of racism, why the concept has perpetuated in the United States, and how African Americans can positively bring an end to it. A term which was used was the Negro Problem, which was used at the time to describe the severe racial tension. As the reader progresses into the work, several relationships are analyzed by James Baldwin. Through each of these relationships, James Baldwin emphasizes how these individuals choose to live conveniently and in power falling to the status quo. The second essay describes Baldwin s personal experience growing up in the Harlem Ghetto, which

Even though the idea of the other right is skillfully set up, there s a taboo about exploiting children and seeing an explosive vest on a child could dissuade a producer. With that said there are other areas worth discussing for possible revisions. However, even without these possible revisions, the script feels marketable. The first area worth discussing is the opening scene in central park and the hot dog cart. It s creative and interesting choice, but highly unrealistic. When first read, one was not sure of the tone, especially with the description of processed guts and yumminess. A more realistic scene doesn t involve a hot dog cart, but simply people strolling in the park, and perhaps some teens or a homeless person find something like a box and it s a bomb. The idea of the bomber going to the trouble of getting a hot dog cart is more for dramatic purposes than realistic. The scene between Jackson and Wally on page 2 isn t the most engaging i.e. their dialogue. What works is the subtext about Life is chess. You better have a plan A, B, and C, or game over. On page 28, again, their dialogue doesn t fully engage. On page 3, a frantic officer tells them that there s an explosion in central park, and then on page 28,
  • 11. How Random Are Random Events Just how random are random events? I was in the third grade when I watched my grandma place diyas, small cup shaped oil lamps, around the house on Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. Because I was too young to light the matches myself, I would watch my grandma ignite the fire on the matches to light the candles. As an eight year old fascinated with the idea of pretty lights, I would watch as the flames danced in random directions, intrigued by the flickering images they were capable of producing. Surely, I thought, there must be some way to predict their motion? This curiosity only gained momentum as I grew older. I would turn on the sink tap and observe the flow of water. I would observe that not only did the shape of the water continually change with varying streaks and peaks in the outflow, but there would be subtle changes in the sound that would take place without intervention. It was amusing and interesting. During summer vacation, while playing soccer in the garage, I would see rays of light shyly sneaking in through the cracks of the garage door. These rays would reveal a host of dust particles randomly racing to reach their destinations. What is the force behind all of this randomness? In science class, I get the... Mercedes Benz is well organized when it comes down to making sure all organizational activities and jobs are accomplished. It follows a matrix structure, which is a connection of one type of organization to another so that two chains of command are directing individual employees. • 13. Food Security In America Food Security in America When asked the question who in the United states is food insecure? one must first answer the question of what it means to have food security in America. Food security is defined by Edelstein (2010) as assured access at all times to enough food for an active, healthy life, as well as access to enough food that is safe, nutritious, and acquired in a socially acceptable way. (pg. 71). Hunger would then be considered the absence of food. According to statistics by the Feeding America Organization, in 2014 they reported that 48.1 million Americans where considered to be food insecure, with 32.8 of them being adults while 15.3 were children (2014). I believe that is also important to characterize where exactly Americans are more likely to be in this category. • 16. The On Hidden Antigen Of Haemonchus Contortus 1. Introduction The best characterised hidden antigen of Haemonchus contortus, called H11, is a 110 kDa gut membrane glycoprotein (Smith et al., 1993) belonging to the M1 aminopeptidase family. Native H11, isolated from adult H. contortus, had been evaluated in numerous vaccine experiments in sheep of different breeds, including very young lambs, and shown to induce high levels of antibody mediated protection, reflected in (on average) a 90% reduction in faecal egg counts (FECs) and 75% reduction in worm burdens (reviewed by Newton and Munn, 1999; Newton and Meeusen, 2003; Knox, 2011). Molecular characterisation showed that H11 is a microsomal aminopeptidase (Graham et al., 1993; Smith et al., 1997), believed to be involved in the degradation of small peptides from dietary proteins (Munn and Munn, 2002). At the time, it was proposed that protection was achieved via antibody induced disruption of nutrient absorption by the worm. Originally, three isoforms of H11 (designated H11 1, 2 and 3; GenBank accession nos. AJ249941, AJ249942 and AJ311316, respectively), sharing ~ 61 70% amino acid sequence identity, were reported (Graham et al., 1993; Hederer et al. 2001, direct submission to GenBank). Subsequently, two other isoforms (H11 4 and 5) had been sequenced and deposited in the GenBank database (accession nos. FJ481146 and X94187) (Smith et al., 1997; Zhou et al., 2010). Although vaccination success was achieved using purified, native H11, and cDNA clones were patented

My family includes my mom five siblings and I. Being the oldest child comes with great responsibilities and lots of expectations. When I was eleven I wished I was the youngest because I knew my younger brothers had the type of life I wanted. No chores just love and laughter with some video games thrown in. I always held my feelings in and just kept them to myself, I did not want to be a burden to mom. Looking back, I am truly happy my wish to be the youngest never came true. I am happy my life turned out to be like coal that turned into a diamond only; from time and the heavy pressure of exceptions and responsibility s. I Knew I was loved as a child, but I had so much responsibility that at times I would quietly resent my mom for placing such a heavy burden on my tiny shoulders. When all I wanted was to be like other children, without a care in the world, playing in a playground with the beautiful sun shining down on us as our childhood minds captured these moments to enjoy again as adults reminiscing about it as if it was an old video or picture. I remember keeping my resent locked down and just being a good mommy s helper. All my sadness fears and things I found to be a challenge would be kept in my heart. I would find my validation from helping other and putting myself on the back burner because I felt like I would be too selfish if I just did not

  • 19. Voltaire s Candide And The Age Of Enlightenment The Age of Enlightenment was a philosophical and an intellectual movement that took place in Europe during the 18th century. From the 1600 s to the 1800 s, philosophers opened a path for independent thought and there were many advances in the scientific, political, economic, and mathematical realms. Many ideas were transpiring and people began to mature, becoming less dependent on others. This time is known for four major components: the idea of freedom of thought, rationality, progress and humanitarianism. Philosophers such as Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, Jean Jacques Rousseau, Immanuel Kant, and Voltairewere all major minds that contributed to the Age of Enlightenment. Voltaire, the author of Candide, wrote about the positives and negatives impacting a person s life. The plot of the novel revolves around Candide s journey to find Cunegonde, the supposed love of his life. Throughout the novel, characters face highs and lows, such as becoming rich, being scammed, and forced into exile. Using Candide s life and the lives and philosophies of minor characters, Voltaire satirizes aspects of the Age of Enlightenment, especially the idea of rationality. Voltaire is not criticizing the idea of being rational but rather he is criticizing the way people determine rationality through the philosophies of Pangloss and Martin, while utilizing the character, Candide, to satirize their thoughts through a crude lens. Throughout the book, Voltaire emphasizes that Pangloss, a philosopher who

The context of New Testament Gospels is deeply rooted in the Greco Roman world and as such paints the background of the Jesus actions and messages. Several scholarly publications that analyze biblical texts from the social science perspective have established a relationship between the politics and religion of the ancient world. The aim of this paper is to assess the events of demon possession and exorcism narrated in the Bible not from a theological perspective but from sociopolitical standpoint. Drawing references from scholarly publications on Bible, this paper would investigate the symbolic meanings of Jesus exorcism in socio political sphere of Galilee and Judea at the very beginning of the first century. This paper heavily relies upon the concepts proposed by Amanda Witmer in her publication Jesus, the Galilean Exorcist, His Exorcisms in Social and Political Context. The historically accurate reconstruction of Jesus is extremely improbable. This is largely due to the limited quantity of resources survived and those that do, New Testament Gospels, are written under the lens of religious followers. As such, there exists great challenge in

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk to them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise (Deuteronomy 6:7, English Standard Version, 2017). Although this is the prevailing thought within society, it could not be farther from the truth. In The Look, a book written by Nancy leigh Demoss, she explains the misconceptions people have about modestyand explains what it truly is: an intentional representation of Christ through every aspect of our lives. I have had a fairly decent view of modesty growing up, and I have always held it in high regards when it comes to clothing, yet I failed to realize that it is a matter of the heart and not just about the clothes that I wear. Demoss book has provided me with a new understanding of modesty, as well as how to apply it. Through my reading, the most influential piece of information that I have learned is that God does care about a woman s modesty in the areas of dress, intent, and appearance. A Woman s Dress Before I explain the importance of why a woman should dress modestly, I believe that it is important to address why a woman should dress. In Genesis 3 we find the story of the fall of man: Adam and Eve sinned against God and broke the relationship between Him and them. When Adam and Eve broke their relationship with God it allowed for sin to enter the earth, which opened their eyes to their own nakedness. After realizing that they were exposed they sewed fig leaves together to make clothing, but it only covered their private parts, not their bodies. God

Humanity represents itself through art and by doing so we are able to take a deeper look into the mentality and emotions that were held within a certain time period. Human studies such as cultural studies or history only highlight small specific areas of humanity while art history combines the two and gives a comprehensive look into all factors that influenced not only the art of a certain time but the events that influenced certain styles. Through the study of art history we are able to see the different events that caused shifts in prospective and influenced changes in art styles. For example the iconoclasm during the protestant reformation drastically altered the type of art that was being produced and greatly limited forward progression of certain styles. All images of God, Jesus, and any other paintings or sculptures that depicted images of false idols were destroyed or removed from view. In ancient Egypt, the carved visages of some pharaohs were obliterated by their successors. The destruction of art was used as a way to influence ideas through out a community of people. By limiting the growth of art, the recorded history of Christianity was greatly altered. Humanity is constantly changing and evolving in relation to its surroundings as viewed through the study of art. Art is all encompassing of a multitude of

The City of London is the area in London where commerce and trade were negotiated; this is in part due to its own tax system that tries to incentivize working their; the museum included the detailed sigil then to demonstrate the importance of commerce on the City of London. Outsourcing of Aviation Maintenance Practices and the Effects of Globalization Matthew Wilkerson Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide May 16, 2016 Abstract Within the aviation industry outsourced maintenance practices have become increasingly more prevalent to maintain current assets. There is generally three processes currently being utilized by the airline industry: outsourcing specific maintenance needs, in house operations, and lastly, a hybrid approach, which entails a combination of outsourcing and in house. How these are applied and to what extent are driven by each company and their own unique needs. This paper compares and contrasts the advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing maintenance practices as well as the effects of globalization on the airline industry. Outsourcing of Aviation Maintenance Practices and the Effects of Globalization Outsourcing is defined as the process utilized when a company decides to subcontract its business processes or functions to another company; therefore, instead of hiring employees to perform a task, the company (outsourcer) enters into an outsourcing arrangement with another firm to provide these services under contract for a certain price and period (Motiwalla Thompson, 2012, p.268). A direct opposition would be a less traditional perspective that the state should protect its most valuable asset, the people. In the most basic of definitions, human security is keeping the people free from any ridicule, discrimination or terror that they may encounter. B lactam Antibiotics and Bacteria To understand how MRSA works against antibiotics, we must first look at the cell wall and how antibiotics work. The cell wall is designed to maintain the cell s shape and to keep the inner workings of the bacteria safe. Without a cell wall, the bacteria could not survive. The wall of a bacterial cell can fit into two major categories: gram positive and gram negative. Staphylococcus aureas is a common example of a gram positive bacteria. Gram positive bacteria is made up of polymer layers of peptidoglycan connected by amino acid bridges. Peptidoglycan is a polymer made of Nacetylglucosamine and N acetyl muraminic acid, or for the purpose of convenience, NAG and NAMA. [6] These layers of polymers are cross linked with amino acids as shown in the diagram below. The polymers are connected and layered by an enzyme known as transpeptidase. The enzyme is responsible for catalyzing the reaction that cross links the cell wall to make it strong.[1] Making the cell wall is easily one of the most basic and essential processes that takes place. [6] Penicillin and Methicillin, two antibiotics used to treat Staphylococcus aureas, are known as Гџ lactam antibiotics. They prevent the bacteria from forming a cell wall.[1] The NAM of the peptidoglycan leaves residue of D alanyl D alanine which bind to the transpeptidase in order to cross link the chain.
