2. The Long-Term Effects Of Stress
The definition of stress according to Webster Dictionary (fourth edition) is strain,
chronic pressure: tension. Stress can come from different circumstances, for Instance,
children missing the school bus, a traffic jam, or a car accident. These are examples
of events that could create stress for some individual stress, yet, the same actions; do
not affect anothers level of stress. Regardless, stress has become a common issue for
many individuals and the constant stress can have an adverse effect on their lives.
The expression, I m stressed out! is a phase to express feeling of being overwhelmed,
nevertheless, what does the phase actually mean in terms of physical health? The
long term effect of stress can generate numerous health
3. The Benefits Of The Affordable Health Care Act
In March 2010, the Affordable Health Care Act (ACA) was signed into law by
President Barack Obama; among the most commendable benefits of the ACA is
universal coverage. This act made it possible for people of classes and racial descent
in the United States to access health care insurance, regardless of their pre existing
conditions and gender. ACA prevented insurers from denying insurancecoverage as a
result of any pre existing conditions, meaning that no one would be excessively
charged for health care, left without coverage or, denied treatment due to their health
status or condition. This health reform meant a tremendous increase in health
insurancecoverage for the uninsured, and implemented reforms to the health
insurance market... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ethnic and racial disparities in the health system will expand if the new policy
reform takes place. Blacks and Hispanics in the United States will suffer most if they
are denied services because of their health status. Under the current Affordable Care
Act that was signed in 2010, insurers did not have the power to reject or deny
coverage to anyone based on their health status but the new reform represents a
violation of human rights where equality to access health insurance is threatened.
Under Article 15 in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, everyone has the
right to medical care and the right to security in the case of sickness Everyone has
the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well being of himself and
of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social
services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability,
widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control
(Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948). In enacting the repeal of ACA and
denying coverage for people with pre existing conditions, the United States is
standing against its promises and commitment from its international treaty obligations
to end racial discrimination in health care access. In addition, the U.S has accepted its
obligations to stop discrimination in the health system by its agreements with the

4. Culture And Japanese Culture
Culture. The arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement
regarded collectively. The dictionary definition seems a little harsh, so let s fix that.
Culture. Something that we are all born into, one that we can t escape, but it doesn t
define who we are as a person most of the time. You can t just look at somebody,
somebody who might be Japanese for example, and just blatantly expect that person
to become the next doctor or lawyer. Just because a cultureis well known or
stereotypically seen to be something, doesn t mean the individual bearing that
culture has to live up to those standards. That Japanese person could want to be the
next New York Best Selling author or just a mere teacher because that s what
interests them. Nobody s future is set in stone the second they come into the
world, nor does it come easy as their lives go on. Sure, culture has some helping
guidelines to what they should do in their lives, maybe it be the habits or nature of
Japanese parents always pushing you to do your best, or it s just the different
cultures of a family. Sometimes there are people born into two or more cultures,
and they have to come to the conclusion that they can be any amount of any culture
they want. Just because you re born in America but come from a long line of
Mexicans doesn t mean you can t be both. Ok yes, sometimes it s hard to fit in with
both cultures because both cultures see you as the other, but it s not their choice to
define who you are and what you believe in. It s your job to come to that
conclusion on your own and you must make that decision that you are proud of.
Sometimes people can be cruel, judging you based on looks rather than personality
or morals, but it s just the way of life. How you choose to handle that as time goes
on is the only thing that matters. No matter what the case, culture still plays a minor
role in the scripting of your life but remember, you re the author with the pen. You
are in charge of writing your life story. Nobody else.

5. Hope In The American Red Cross
As discussed in my first essay, the virtue of hope is crucial for attaining any other
virtue as well as the inseparable part of human nature. However, sometimes a burden
of harsh and unpredictable circumstances causes the unfortunate to doubt hope. In
that case, according to Mary Wollstonecraft, others should disregard their ignorance
and mistaken self interest to help the unfortunate regain the essential virtue of hope
(Wollstonecraft, 211). Furthermore, as Niccolo Machiavelli emphasizes, when
disregarding their self interest, the ones helping should not only appear to be hopeful,
but also demonstrate hope in their actions (Machiavelli, 203). But how is the virtue
of hope demonstrated to others? By looking at the work of Mary Wollstonecraft...

Firstly, the Red Cross is tempted by the immorality since groups tend to be more
immoral than individuals as discussed by Martin Luther King (Dr. King, 274). To
simplify, an individual who acts immorally is the only one held accountable for his
immorality. On the other hand, the organization s responsibility for immoral actions
is distributed among the members of the group, which means that none of the
individuals is exclusively responsible for the organization s actions, so none of the
members can be individually punished for immorality of the organization. Since
partial responsibility involves less accountability than total responsibility, individuals
are more likely to be immoral in a group than by themselves. Similarly, Henry David
Thoreau explains the same issue by stating that a corporation has no conscience
(Thoreau, 256). Therefore, like any other organization, the American Red Cross has
to fight against immorality of the group to manifest their purpose of helping others.
But how do they fight it? Thoreau explains that even though a corporation itself has
no conscience, its members do and a corporation of conscientious men is a
corporation with a conscience (Thoreau, 256). And the American Red Cross makes
sure that all its members are conscientious by incorporating the moral laws in the
organization s fundamental

Related Work
Various image processing researches related to face have been of keen interest since
a long time. From past decade, though the study related with respect to aging pattern
and age estimation has become important, it is still very challenging. Mostly age
estimation is done using shape patterns of face or using facial texture information
such as wrinkles.
Existing methods for facial age estimation typically consists of 2 main steps: image
representation and age prediction [3]. The general models used for representing
images are Active Shape Model (ASM) [4], Active Appearance Model (AAM) [5],

After researching a bit more about the 2013 Target hack, I found out that it ended up
becoming the largest retail hack in U.S. history (Bloomberg, 2014). Target failed
their customers largely in part because of one main reason. They were alerted not
once, not twice, but three times of the suspicious activity, before finally reacting to
it. Ironically, this hack took place just six months after spending $1.6 million for a
new malware detection program (Bloomberg, 2014). Unfortunately for the 40 million
people whose credit cardinformation was taken and the other 70 million people
whose address, phone numbers and other information was breached, Target failed to

to have some decently established interpersonal skills. He understands the
importance of teamwork and that in order to accomplish great things you need to
set forth a great effort. During his Fast Company interview, he also speaks about
the respect he has for his team and making it a point to not call people at night
(Dishman, 2012). As for the decisional aspect of things, he would negotiate deals
with other brands but only if they share the same characteristics and values Target
strives to uphold (Dishman, 2012). Given the positive words I have read about
Steinhafel, I still believe that the timeframe in which the Target hack was disclosed to
the public could have been handled better. Being the spokesperson for such a large
company and given the impact this hack had on the vast portion of the United States,
Steinhafel should have responded to the public sooner than four days after the

12. Ethical Argument Against Euthanasia
Medical Ethics
Medical ethics is always seen by many as an unusual blend; one many always seem
to question. The fuse appeals to a range of different temperaments, to the
philosopher, the doctor, and to the man or woman of action. It tackles the big
questions of the morality of killing and the painstakingly difficult decisions having
to be made by many on a daily basis. It also relates to the ethical spectrum as well,
when can a mentally ill person be treated against their will? Is it a crime for any
doctor to practice a form of euthanasia? Where better to start medical ethics, than
with the complex topic of euthanasia.
The main idea of euthanasia goes against the oldest and most famous moral
instructions in religion, Thou shalt not kill [Exodus 20:13]. To be technical, the
practice of euthanasia is morally required by the two main principles of medical
practice: the respect for the patient s autonomy, and to promote their best interests. ...

The second more widely known view is that all views by the Nazis are immoral.
Some Nazis may hold views that do not relate directly, but they would not be seen
as Nazi views . The Nazi views being referred are their horrific actions of torture and
senseless killing. The problem with this view is however that the supporters of
euthanasia are not supporters of the Nazis, and so this point can be considered
invalid. The point at issue is whether euthanasia in certain circumstances is moral or
immoral. All depends on the specific circumstances at hand and the best interests of

15. The Importance Of Food Aid In Africa
Food aid is hard to summarize succinctly due to many related issues, but in general
it is about providing food and related assistance to tackle hunger, either in emergency
situations, or to help with deeper, longer term hunger alleviation and achieve food
security (where people do not have to live in hunger or in fear of starvation). Food aid
constituted over 20% of global aid flows in the 1960s, but is now less than 5%.
Yet, it is still important because of the prevalence of world hunger and the increase
in food emergencies in the past decade. The decline of food aid, as well as the way
in which it is delivered and used, are therefore of importance. Food aid started off in
the 1950s with the US and together with Canada accounted for over 90% of global
food aid until the 1970s when the United Nations World Food Programme(WFP)
became a major player.
International food aid is largely driven by donors and international institutions
(typically influenced by the interests of the donors). In 1967, the Food Aid
Convention (FAC) provided a set of policies for the donor countries, and is
monitored by the Consultative Sub Committee on Surplus Disposal (CSSD). The
CSSD s primary purpose is to ensure that food aid does not affect commercial
imports and local production in recipient countries. In effect, the CSSD ensures
that food aid does not displace trade. And so it is criticized for serving the interests
of donors, because when accepting food aid, recipients commit to pay for imports
of commercial food along with food aid as Frederic Mousseau notes in a report titled
Food Aid or Food Sovereignty? Ending World Hunger In Our Time.
In 2002 the Zambian government rejected 35,000 tons of food aid because of the
possibility that it could be genetically modified (GM). During this time roughly 3
million people in Zambia faced severe food shortages and extreme hunger. As the
government turned away this food aid, a debate over GM food aid arose globally.
The government of Zambia remains firmly against both milled and nonmilled GM
food imports. Other governments throughout southern Africa have placed similar
restrictions, although most will accept milled GM food aid. Much of southern Africa
remains skeptical of GM food for a
16. Securing the Castilian Throne Essay example
To suggest that Isabella was successful from the outset in securing the Castilian
crown and the support of its people would be a foolish interpretation. It took ten
years before she was fully accepted as rightful ruler, during which time a number of
important factors developed that today can be seen as the clearest reasons for her
success. Paramount among these was her determined, intellectual and shrewd
personality and character. Without these traits, the other factors would have been
irrelevant. In October 1469, Isabella was married to Ferdinand of Aragon. What is
interesting here is the terms of the treaty drawn up after the ceremony that both of
them signed. It claimed Isabella to be the rightful and true heir of Castile, that their...

In the early years of Ferdinand and Isabella s union, the advantages were firmly
weighted in favour of Castile. This is no great surprise as, after all, there was no
problem with a succession in Aragon. Influences that Ferdinand had over affairs
concerning Castilian affairs most concerned the military. He and his troops played
a vital role in putting down rebellions in towns and cities. Men were supplied (in
line with the terms of the marriage contract) from Castile to help stave off and
defeat the Portuguese as well as supporters of Joanna Enriquez, who was Isabella s
main rival to the throne. Because Ferdinand played an important part in halting
these problems, the union between Isabella and Ferdinand, and the acquiescence
that Ferdinand and Aragon showed them, can be seen to be a significant contributor
to Isabella s eventual victory in 1479. The fact that Ferdinand s presence was not
too overbearing helped keep grandees happy. They were important members of
society. Isabella needed their support and without it she would have struggled to
retain popularity and secure her throne. Therefore, before even becoming Queen, it
was imperative that she had them on her side, away from Joanna. Originally, only a
few grandee families supported Isabella s cause. It was not until 1470, four years
before Isabella became Queen, that opinion switched. An important reason for

Donato Bramante was born in 1444 in Fermignano, Duchy of Urbino. Donato was
born so early on that there is not an exact date. He grew up in Urbino, with his
family. He was born into a farming rich family. His father was a major influence on
his life because he steered Donato towards the direction of painting at a very young
age. Donato eventually became the first High RenaissanceArchitect. He was
educated by reading, writing and practice with the abacus. He served as an assistant
to Piero della Francesca. Donato received most of his training through other artists.

18. Why We Should Continue Spending Money For Space
Explorations
For many centuries, humans have looked up to the stars for help. They have used
constellations for guidance, and also have found the positions of our neighboring
planets. In the past, many people had the idea of humans leaving Earth and
exploring outer space. This became a reality during the 20th century, when
American astronauts first landed and walked on the moon. With the many benefits
we have gotten from explorations in the past, I think that we should continue
spending money for space explorations in the future. The new inventions and
discoveries that help us today in modern life, the pride that our nation as a whole
feels, and other advantages and conveniences we receive are sufficient enough to
determine that we shouldn t stop exploring what is beyond the horizon. Many new
tools and devices were needed for the astronauts who originally traveled in outer
space, so new objects were created and designed to fit the needs and comforts of the
astronauts. But who knew that some of their inventions would help us in our daily
lives? Many items and objects we commonly use today were designed and created to
be intended for space travel (Farrar). These items are just a part of our life today. And
to make these common items, it created new manufacturing industries. The Tempur
Pedic mattress company got its start when NASAscientists wanted to provide
comfortable seating for pilots that needed to remain in one position for a long time.

While terrorism has affected airline travel for decades, the Al Qaeda perpetrated

U.S. air travel policy. Prior to the 9/11 attacks, hijackings like the Dawson s Field
incident drove international changes to passenger security screening protocols
(Clark, 2016). Even still, incidents like 1988 s downing of Pan Am Flight 103 over
Lockerbie, Scotland, occurred before electronic baggage scanning became standard
(Donavan, Delawala, and Santichen, 2009). Despite these tragic events, Al Qaeda
and its affiliates actions, both those successful and failed, drove the U.S. s changes
to law and policy for air travel. Al Qaeda s immediate, and possibly most

21. Betrayed By Milan Kundera Analysis
In his excerpt from Testaments Betrayed, Milan Kundera claims that for one to be
truly free, one must have the right to privacy. He says that the curtain must remain
closed between private and public and that those curtain rippers are criminals.
However, although I believe that privacy must be respected and protected, there
are times when the invasion of privacy may be necessary if a person s life or well
being is in immediate danger. Kundera claims that for a man to be free; that the
curtain separating these two worlds is not to be tampered with... I agree with this
part of his argument; privacy is something that has to be revered and enforced, as it is
every man s right to have that freedom. My stance on this is supported by the U.S
Constitution.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a parent suspects that his or her child is suffering from depression or is involved
in hazardous activity like drugs, alcohol, or a bad relationship, I believe should be
allowed to violate the child s privacy. By simply looking through the kid s phone or
computer, a parent can find an underlying problem that the child would have
otherwise not have told them. A parent must protect their child from anything that
could harm them, even if it s protecting the children from themselves, and the only
way to do this (if the child refuses to confide) is to deliberately invade their privacy.
As it happens, this violation of a child s privacy also occurs in a medical
environment. If a psychologist s patient is exhibiting either suicidal tendencies or is
under danger of any form of abuse, the doctor is required by law to make it known
to either authorities or the parental guardians that their child is in danger. These
actions are a direct infringement of a person s freedom that Kundera will readily
disagree with, but if the curtain that keeps privacy undisclosed remains tightly shut,
these cases may never be uncovered and these lives might not be
22. Disinfection And Sterilization In A Dental Office
Disinfection and sterilization techniques contribute greatly in the world and
practice of dentistry. Proper disinfection and sterilization, help keep bioburdens,
microbes, and any other bacteria left behind after a dental exam or procedure,
sterile and destroyed. If this was not done properly, bioburdens would still be left
untouched and passed on to other patients coming in for an exam. When working in
a dental office, disinfection and sterilization play important key roles in the every
day workplace. During a dental exam or procedure, many forms of bioburden, blood
and/or saliva, get sprayed everywhere or even left behind once the dentist is done.
This is why it is important for the dental assistant to use proper disinfectants and

the return of the car. Nick can only succeed if he can prove there is no
consideration. Consideration can be defined by Sir Frederick Pollock, approved
by Lord Dunedin in Dunlop v Selfridge Ltd [1915] AC 847 where each party must
give something in return from what is gained from the other party; An act or
forbearance of one party, or the promise thereof, is the price for which the promise
of the other is bought, and the promise thus given for value is enforceable. The
traditional definition in Currie v Misa (1875) LR 10 Ex 153; (1875 76) LR 1 App
Cas 554 has been criticised where a valuable consideration, in the sense of the law,
may consist either... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Certain requirements must be met in order to use this Doctrine being that there
must be an existing contractual obligation between the parties which is clear in
Nick and Angela s case being in a 9 month contract, there must be clear and
unequivocal terms which here Nick made the promise for Angela to pay less until
fully recovered. The promisee must have altered his/her position to his/her
detriment in reliance therefore it would be in inequitable to go back on the
promise but I believe that Nick could argue here that there was no reliance as
Angela is in a better financial situation. It must be inequitable for the promisor to
go back on his promise and it was said in Coombe v Coombe [1951] 2 KB 215 that
the doctrine may only be raised as a defence: as a shield and not a sword , this is
applicable for Angela s case. The lottery win by her husband Willy would not have
any relevance in this case as he is not contractually obliged in any way to give
Angela money being a third party husband. It may be argued that Angela is acting
with dirty hands . She continued to pay the reduced rent for a week even though she
had recovered from her illness and this may insinuate she was acting inequitable.
Another argument against Angela is that she made a significant financial gain 3
months after paying the reduced amount and she has a duty to Nick to inform him of
any change in circumstances as in the case of With v O Flanagan [1936] Ch 575.

work on the field but also at their work in school.
8. Do you think the lawsuit against the NCAA will be successful? Why or why not?
I think the lawsuit against the NCAA should be successful on many level since the
players do deserve to have some rights, a problem can arise once the NCAA puts
their best lawyers on the job making it nearly impossible to win a lawsuit against
them but If a jury could decide the fate of the lawsuit I do believe it would ever

9. Should fans of college basketball be concerned about the alleged injustices in the
NCAA? Why or why not?
Yes, I do think the fans should be concerned about the alleged injustices since they
may be supporting the injustice by buying tickets and buying the video games.
10. Do you think its fair that college basketball players have to sign a contract that
states that their images and likeness can be used by the NCAA forever without
receiving any compensation? Why or why not?
No. I do not think it is fair that the students need to sign a contract stating that their
image and likeness is the property of the NCAA. It is the students image they should

Tampa Bay Water is a seawater desalination plant located in Tampa, Florida. Their
method of desalination of ocean water or brackish groundwater is another method to
obtaining water from fresh surfaces or groundwater sources. This could be used to
replace the need for a water supply dam. There are several different technologies that
exist to remove salt and other impurities from ocean water. The two most commonly
used methods are thermal distillation and desalination. Thermal distillation copies the
natural water cycle by using heat to create a vapor that is converted into freshwater.
Desalination is a process that removes some amount of salt and other minerals from
saline water. The traditional process used is vacuum distillation, which... Show more

The major advantage of dual purpose facilities is they can be more efficient in
energy consumption, allowing for desalination to be a more viable option for the
production of drinking water. The advantages of desalination represents an
opportunity to use oceanic water resources. If the appropriate conditions are
present, a desalination plant could potentially be used to replace an existing or
future dam. As existing sources of useable water run dry, desalination is a very
effective, alternative source of water. On top of that the distillation process
produces one of the highest quality water, with a range of 1 to 50 ppm tds, tds is
also known as total dissolved solids. With the recommended California standard
being 500 ppm, this quality of water is far beyond any other water quality seen
before. The disadvantages of desalination is that in order for a desalination plant to
be a viable alternative to the water supply dam, the users must be located fairly
close to a coast or large source of oceanic water. The desalination technology can
also have adverse environmental impacts of its own. The plants are very energy
intensive and must dispose of a highly concentrated saline byproduct into the ocean,
which can cause adverse affects to marine life in the surrounding and exceeding
areas. Waste brine can also

ABSTRACT
DNA is a biological double helix molecule that makes up the genetic component of a
person. In the 21st century, there are several applications of DNA s specific and
unique characteristics, such as solving a crime, finding maternity/paternity cases or
even research development of genetic diseases. This efficient and accurate system
called DNA fingerprinting is a way of organizing the DNA to acquire a person s
identification much like the fingerprint of a person. Unlike the actual fingerprint of
someone, the DNA information can be obtained from various areas including
blood, saliva, perspiration, sexual semen, skin tissue, bone marrow, dental pulp and
hair follicles.1 This essay will focus on the use of DNA technology in forensics
investigation and its powerful effects by which DNA evidence can either convict or
exonerate an individual of a crime. It also examines the implications and biased
effects of DNA profiling in the criminal justice system and offers possible solutions to
mediate these problems.

29. Speech On Lactose Intolerance
Good morning Miss B and class. Lactose intolerance is often mistaken as an allergy,
but it is rather an intolerance of lactose.
An intolerance is a hypersensitivity to certain food or ingredient. It is not as serious
as an allergy as it does not involve and immune system response. It causes symptoms
and their severity ranges as to how much is ingested. These symptoms can be:
Digestive problems, gas build up, cramps, bloating. People with an intolerance of a
substance can ingest small quantities of it.
An allergy is where the immune system reacts to a specific food and regards it as
harmful or toxic. The body produces antibodies in response to the allergen and if the

It is done by doing the hydrogen breath test. It measures the amount of hydrogen
exhaled after drinking a lactose beverage. Lactose which is undigested is fermented
in the colon and these bacteria produce hydrogen which s exhaled. If you have
higher levels of hydrogen exhaled after 90 minutes of drinking the lactose drink, you
are then classified as being lactose intolerant.
People must be aware of the risk factors if diagnosed with lactose intolerance,
Consuming lactose products will cause discomfort. Children that are lactose
intolerant have a higher risk of getting rickets and hampered tooth formation, and
therefore need to be put on supplements in extreme cases. Adults must be aware of
getting osteoporosis.
Managing with lactose intolerance can be tricky to juggle. People are encouraged to
find a level of lactose that they can handle without having symptoms, through trial
and error. When consuming lactose, it is recommended to have it with a meal as it
slows down the digestive process. Cheeses and yoghurts contain less lactose than
milk and could be a better way of introducing calcium to your diet. Know medication

30. Downfall Of The Weimar Republic Essay
The Weimar Republic started and ended as a society filled with violence and turmoil.
The creation of a new government after the abdication of the Kaiser Wilhelm II was
due to a large amount of international pressure and influence from leaders such as
President Woodrow Wilson. This new German government became a democracy
without any democrats. However, stating that the Weimar Republiccould have
survived had it s own presidents not undermined it, is not a fair statement. Although
the presidents made several poor choices in the way that they decided to run Germany
, the overall collapse of the Weimar Republic can only be blamed on a combination
of several factors. The instability of the Weimar constitution created a society in
which over 6 years... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Hindenburg was not the first president of the Weimar Republic. Friedrich
Ebert was the first elected president, however most of his faults were due to the
great economic and political unrest, which was created by the previous government.
Hindenburg, although being 84 years old during the time of his election, had large
amounts of experience being an inspirational leader during times of war.
Hindenburg was persuaded into taking power by those who opposed the rise of
Hitler, and continued to be persuaded throughout his presidential career. Hindenburg
was extremely influenced by the Chancellors of Germany. In 1930 Hindenburg
allowed Bruning to use article 48 of the Weimar Constitution, which allowed him to
rule by decree, to dissolve the Reichstag. Bruning used this same article to introduce
his deflationary policy that majorly crippled the German economy. This allowed
Hindenburg to display his true self for one of the first times during his presidency,
showing that he was hardly a democrat and more of a dictator. After changing
Chancellors multiple times, Chancellor Schleicher came into power and ruled only to
keep control. Schleicher was a power hungry ruler with little to no rules that could

31. Type A Personality
Today in class we discussed Type A Personality. People with Type A personality
generally are obsessed with being on time, competitive, impatient, and may be
easily angered and hostile. These traits may become dangerous as they can lead to
heart problems because of the anger these people possess. I believe that my
personality corresponds to Type A. Although I normally am late for most things, I
get very paranoid when I am running late for something I am passionate about. For
example, I am never late for the movies. I always check the timings a few hours
earlier and try to be at the movie theater around 45 minutes earlier. Another piece of
evidence that points to me being Type A is that I am excessively competitive and
cutthroat. I must do anything and everything to be the best. I believe that there is
no point in doing anything unless you want to be number one. My philosophy
(which I borrowed from Grey s Anatomy 2x22) is that being that second best is
mediocre, and to settle for mediocrity is a sign of self disrespect and a substandard

32. Essay on Organizational Change Management
Organizational Change Management
Significant organizational change occurs when an organization changes its overall
strategy for success, adds or removes a major section or practice, and/or wants to
change the very nature by which it operates. It also occurs when an organization
evolves through various life cycles, just like people must successfully evolve through
life cycles. For organizations to develop, they often must undergo significant change
at various points in their development; hence the topic of organizational change and
development has become widespread in communications about business,
organizations, leadership and management.

In support of principle one, the practice that must accompany it is to align the goals
of a change effort with organizational strategy. An organization s strategic plan
identifies the products and services it delivers and the core business and key
supporting processes that help deliver these products and services. It also identifies
the organization s special competencies and how they enhance the core and key
supporting organizational processes. If the goals of the change effort do not support
the organizational strategy then the change effort will not yield significant value to
the organization.
The Epic EHR supports the business goals of Legacy by promoting preventative
medicine through integrative communication and access, better record keeping, and
improved coordination of health care services, as well as by reducing waste,
inefficiency, and miscommunication. These efforts will reduce the national cost of
health care and lower out of pocket expenses, which are two big aims of Legacy
Health.
Therefore, by aligning the goals of a change effort with the business strategy of an
organization, the change effort will have a greater chance of succeeding because the
change effort will receive greater executive commitment than if the goals were not
aligned. In sum, the commitment of executive level management
33. Lab Analysis Of The Barbie Bungee Experiment
For the Barbie Bungee lab, the groups used their knowledge about Bivariate
Statistics to accurately find the relationship between the number of rubber bands
and the length barbie fell. After identifying this relationship, the groups used the
line of best fit formula to determine how many rubber bands would be needed in
order to drop the doll from a known height and get the closest to the ground without
touching it. One group completed this lab and was able to get there doll to get as
close as 19 inches from the ground after dropping the Barbie from a height of 280.24
inches in the air.
The Barbie Bungee lab was conducted in order to find the association between the
amount of rubber bands and the distance the Barbie bungeed. Before performing the
final experiment, the group conducted an initial investigation to get data that could be
analyzed to examine the comparison from the amount of rubber bands to the length
Barbie was able to bungee. In the investigation rubber bands would gradually be
added one by one starting at two rubber bands. Each time a rubber band was added,
three trial bungees were done and the lengths the barbie dropped were recorded.
Using data collected from our background investigation, the group used excel to
create a sheet displaying the data in a table, a graph showing the correlation
constant, the line of best fit. The line of best fit was in slope intercept form
(y=mx+b) where y represents the length of the trial average; m represents the slope

Brief Paper From The Tower of Babel to Jacob and Esau Reconciled, we learn
about honor, betrayal, and forgiveness from the book of Genesis. From these
themes we learn what applies to our everyday life and how we are able to survive.
At the start of Genesis twelve, God honors a promise that he made to Abraham that
he will behold and protect as long as he lived. Go forth from your land and your
birthplace and your father s house to the land I will show you. And I will make
you a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be
a blessing. And I will bless those who bless you, and those who damn you I will
curse, and all the clans of the earth through you shall be blessed. (Genesis 12: pg.
126). God s determination to honor Abraham was to bring his family and wife
back to the birthplace of his father s, where Abraham s name will be blessed and in
greatness to people who come and honor him. God placed Abraham to be a father of
all nations to kings that will come honor Abraham for his wisdom that he bestows
upon them, and to give his seed the land of Canaan and resurrected an altar before
him. God states to Abraham, As for you, you shall keep My commandment, you and
your seed after you through their generations. (Genesis 17: ... Show more content on

Analysis of Pat Mora s La Migra
Pat Mora s La Migra is a poem presenting two speakers, one female and one male,
who are playing the game La Migra which means border patrol agents . Mora creates
a snapshot of the dangers of living near the Mexican border through the narrators
game . The poem is written with childish language, but includes ambiguity of whether
the players are children approaching a disturbingly mature theme or whether they re
adults trying to minimize the stress of the situation. Despite both interpretations
being decently supported by the text, I support the first for a few key reasons.

4) A runner s starting point in a race. The speaker uses marks as a metaphor to her
life. This one word organizes the entire poem by setting the direction, tone, and
meaning of the poem. With its multiple meanings, the word marks plays a significant
role. By analyzing the word marks in the context of the poem, I want to demonstrate
the absolute necessity of that one word in this particular poem.
The woman s life is graded with marks. A mark, meaning grade, is usually
something that has nothing to do with a housewife or a mother. However, in this
poem marks play a vital role in the speaker s identity. Her family gives her grades as
a housewife and a mother. The word marks compares and contrasts her life with
standards that are not her own. Grades are a part of the woman s life, for she is
identified through them. Marks are the result of accomplishing a certain standard
(e.g. 80% is a B, 90% and above is an A, etc). Students strive to get good grades
because good grades equals good student. Grades identify who you are. It doesn t
matter how much time and effort you have spent only the result counts. In this
poem, the woman s entire life is defined and evaluated with grades: for her husband
she is an A, an incomplete, and a B+; for her son she is average; for her daughter
she is a Pass. It is interesting that all the marks the woman receives from her family
are not bad at all (besides the incomplete, which can be

Paramount s BATNA was to air the show on CBSin the event that NBC did not
agree to a higher licensing fee and extending Frasier for an additional three (3) years.
What is your best estimate of NBC s reservation price (walk away price)?
Reservation price is the price or point at which you are indifferent between doing
the deal and not doing the deal. The reservation price should always reflect the
BATNA. The reservation value has nothing to do what with what you hope to pay,
what you should pay, or what is a fair price in the negotiation. In NBC s case, NBC
s reservation price should be approximately $5.5 million dollars per episode. This
represents the current break even license fee.
What is your best estimate of Paramount s reservation price (walk away price)?
Since Mark Graboff a former lawyer and a past employee for CBS as CBS s Business
Affairs, he had insight of CBS s economics. With Mark s estimation of CBS break
even license fee, the reservation price should be $3million with NBC.
Based on (c) and(d) is there a ZOPA?
Zone of possible agreement or ZOPA, is the common ground between two
disputing parties. The ZOPA is critical to the successful outcome of negotiation.
Based upon c and d, ZOPA existed. Paramount should be willing to take anything
above $3million dollars and NBC should be willing to pay as much as 5. 5 million

37. The Importance Of Holocaust Revisionism
In 1990, during a poll conducted in a single state among a group of seniors in high
school, it was found 50% of the students were unable to provide any information
about the Holocaust (Lang 2010). The idea that so many students are unaware of
such a violent and heinous crime is incomprehensible. As many students in high
schools ask today, why is it important to learn about history? The answer is history
provides society a way to look back and evaluate previous mistakes. Particularly with
the Holocaust, it is important to look back and identify warnings to prevent another
Holocaust from occurring. However, looking back is hard to do when Holocaust
Revisionism is attempting to rewrite the history of the Holocaust. Therefore,
Holocaust Revisionism is a threat to societal morality by believing that the Jewish
population holds immense international power and disregarding extensive evidence
of the Holocaust. Foremost, to fully develop this hypothesis a requirement is to
understand what revisionism means, the Holocaust, and societal morality.

and evidence the ability to disprove these claims to revisionists becomes harder and
harder. If Holocaust Revisionists succeeded in disproving the Holocaust, society
would no longer be able to fully educate the next generation on how to prevent future
genocides. Being unable to discuss and learn about the Holocaust as a historical event
undermines the foundations of society s morality by inhibiting society s ability to

38. Don Mckay s Sometimes A Voice
Sometimes a Voice by Don McKay describes the want to rise above a current state.
The first stanza introduces this idea as a voice wanting to be more than a voice.
The second stanza takes the idea even further and places the reader inside of a
situation, almost like a story. Furthermore, figurative language is used constantly
by McKay to help get this theme into the reader s head. Even in the first few lines,
McKay employs vivid imagery and personification to heighten the effect. The voice
wants not to be voice any longer, (li. 2) He also describes how a voice will hearken
back to breath, or even farther (li. 6) and is sometimes a flight path still looking for
its bird (li. 8 9). In the second stanza, he invokes more imagery: the reader
39. A Civil Action By Jonathan Harr And On A True Story
The odds of a plaintiff winning in civil court are two to one against. Most people
do not even try, they settle. Out of the approximate 780,000 cases filed each year,
only 12,000 or 1.5%, ever reach a verdict. These facts are some that are told in the
movie A Civil Action. A Civil Action is based on the book by Jonathan Harr and on
a true story. This movie, which was filmed in 1998, is about a water contamination
case that happened in Massachusetts. The case is known as Anderson v. Cryovac.
John Travolta plays the role of the main character Jan Schlichtmann, who is a
personal injury attorney. Although typically a water contamination case would
not fall into the hands of a personal injury attorney, but in this case, he was just
supposed to be handling the case of a woman s son who died of leukemia. She
called him live on a radio talk show and explained that she had called his firm to
handle the case, and now they would not return any of her calls. He explains how
sorry he was and that he would take care of it as soon as possible. When he asks the
workers back at his firm about this woman, Anne Anderson, who had called him, they
explained that her son was one of twelve people that have died of leukemia in the
town of Woburn, Massachusetts. Out of those twelve people that had died, eight of
them were children. They also mentioned that the residents of Woburn think the water
they use is somehow linked to leukemia, claiming that the water has always tasted

41. The Chicano Movement By Frank Romero
Throughout history, art has helped in different mediums to bring awareness to
different issues and constructive messages to society. The Chicano movement started
in the 1960s; the public wanted to repair social injustice. The Chicano movement
encompassed a broad section of issues; from restoration of lands, to farm workers
rights, to enhance education, to voting and political rights. At this moment many
individuals were trying different ways to express their views and one of those ways
was art. In the early years of the Chicanomovement, Frank Romero established a
reputation as one of the Chicano art heroes. Through murals Frank Romero expressed
his thoughts and embodied a Chicano identity. His murals would not only connect
with Mexicans, but with everyone. In his painting or art Romero would usually show
everyday events in different views, opening the eyes of the viewer. Romero s art
would come out strong. Although Romero gained his fame with his murals, he is
amazing in drawing, painting, ceramics, and sculptures. He is not just a remarkable
Chicano artist, but an astonishing artist around the world.
Frank Romero was born in 1941 in Los Angeles, California. He was raised in a
culturally mixed, middle class community and was well into his career when he
identified himself as a Latino artist. During the height of the Chicano movement in
the early 1970s, he and other artists founded a group named Los Four. The group
originally consisted of Roberto de la Rocha, Gilbert

refers to a design whereby, the researcher selects data and analysis procedures to
investigate a specific research problem (Cohen, Manion and Morrison; 2008).
Research designs have been classified differently by different scholars. Some scholars
(Bodgan Biklen, 1982) discuss research methods under two broad headings:
qualitative and quantitative. Gay (1987) indicates that while naturalistic researcher
prefer qualitative methods, such as participant observation and in depth interviewing,
rationalistic researchers tend to use quantitative methodologies such as random
selection of subjects and administration of standardized instruments. While qualitative
studies focus on subjective information, such as feelings, experiences or opinions:
data that cannot be scientifically quantified. Quantitative research is the opposite,
shunning subjectivity in favor of objectivity. Quantitative research focuses on
statistics and quantifiable information.
The present research is both qualitative and quantitative in nature as it involves in
depth analysis of the textbook content as well as questionnaire which has both open
43. The Myers Briggs Profile Is Bases
The Neo Freudian theorist on which on which the Myers Briggs profile is bases is
Carl Gustav Jung. Born in 1875 he was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist
who founded analytical psychology, of which Jung decided the central concept to
be individualism. He thought that there were four basic principal functions by
which we see the world, sensation, intuition, feeling, and thinking. He claimed that
we use one of those senses is what we use most of the time. Each of the eight letters
stand for different things in the Myers Briggs profile. The letter E represents
Extraversion. Which are basically extraverts, people that are go getters in life, life
working in large groups, have lots of friends, and are easily excited by being around
other people. The letter I stands for Introversion. Which are introverts, people who are
calm, reserved, take the time to reflect on ideas that explain the outside world. The
letter N represents Intuition. Intuitive type may be concerned with what is new and
doing new and different things. They see the big picture of things and are constantly
brain storming ideas. They would also rather gain understanding through insight than
through hands on experiences. The Letter S stand for sensing. People that are sensing
are really concerned with what they can actually see in front of them and approach
situations with their eyes open to the facts. The letter F represents Feeling, they are
people that wear their hearts on their sleeves. They

They are the words of Inspector Goole; they are the views of John Boynton
Priestley; the message of the play. In An Inspector Calls, Priestley conveys this to
his audience; Inspector Goole represents Priestley s views and his morals. Priestley
wrote An Inspector Calls to further enhance this message; he portrays these views
through the character of the Inspector in the play itself. The play is classed as a
murder mystery/psychological thriller, however it is in fact a play of morality and
[the title quote] is the underlying message in which we are to learn from. We are all
equal, regardless of class; we are responsible for each other; we should try to help
others. I think that Priestley was trying to show his audience that every action can...

This is also marking the moment , which makes the audience suspect that this may
not be the last we hear of Gerald s secret and it will perhaps be exposed as the play
progresses. Another example of tension is when Mr. Birling tells Gerald about his
possible knighthood, but refuses to tell Eric about it when he re enters the room;
tension is present because the audience do not know why Eric is not to be involved
in the conversation. In the play, the tension continues to increase the peak of tension
being at the end of the acts where the cliffhangers lie. Another effective device used
by Priestley is the timing of exits and entrances of the Inspector. He times the
entrance of the Inspector so that he appears just after Mr. Birling has made his
speech, as if to discredit everything Mr. Birling has just said. This is also giving the
audience the impression that the Inspector is almost superhuman; almost ghost like
his name being Inspector Goole.

In An Inspector Calls, there are things that we, as an audience, are unsure about.
Who is most responsible for Eva Smith s death? Was there really a girl called Eva
Smith who committed suicide in the infirmary? And, most importantly, who is the
Inspector? Well, Inspector Goole is in fact not a real police inspector; his assertive
and impatient manner
45. Niccolo Machiavelli And Martin Luther Analysis
Niccolo Machiavelli and Martin Luther found themselves to be surrounded by
darkness and heavy fog that clouded their vision. They both were feeling
lightheaded from the heat and lack of stamina. Luther found a lit candle that
allowed him to see Machiavelli a few feet away from him. As the two approached
each other they began to recollect their final memories and their location. Luther is
confused as to why he has been placed in purgatory and finds discomfort in his lack
of effort to receive Gods promise of salvation. He turns to Machiavelli and the two
enlist in a conversation that looks over their beliefs in the duration of their time at
earth.
Luther: I understand that you, Machiavelli, believe it is justified for a Prince to
find solace in creating a persona of being a pious and religious man if it means
keeping the state maintained. You also approve of deception towards citizens
because they are so ignorant and blindsided by the character they see that they would
be unable to tell a difference.
Machiavelli: Yes, although it seems harsh there are many instances where Princes
have kept little faith yet achieved great things for their people. For instance,
Alexander the Sixth achieved all his desires because he mastered the art of being a
fox and a lion. His cunning nature allowed him to manipulate a situation and his
people to his advantage.
Luther: The honor that we hold of truth and righteousness is in the person who we
believe and look up too. It s an insult to
46. Malleefowl Research Paper
The Malleefowl is a heavily built Australian bird that lives on the ground. Relatively,
it is about the size of a chicken. Its scientific name, Leipoa ocellata, which belongs to
the Megapode family. The Malleefowl is a heavy bodied, ground feeding, egg
incubating vertebrae. The two certain characteristics that make the Malleefowl
different from most birds is that they construct large nesting mounds and that the
parents do not care for their chicks after they are born. Being the only living speciesof
the genus Leipoa, it is a birdof unique qualities, although the Giant Malleefowl
(which is now extinct) was a close relative.
The Malleefowl is found nationally, especially in the states of Victoria, New South
Wales, South Australia and Western Australia. They are located in these areas due to
the climate and environment the Malleefowl prefers (which is discussed later). The
area of where they live ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After two weeks, a total of 4,227 mounds have been counted. It is known that there
used to be a large number of Mallee Fowls in the past, accounting for a decrease in
population over the years.
The Mallee Fowl is classified as vulnerable, although classified as endangered in
NSW and Victoria, critically endangered in the Northern Territory and likely to
become extinct in Western Australia. This is due to the loss of habitat and the foxes
hunting the Malleefowl for food.
There is no information on disease in wild Malleefowl populations although it is
prone to many common diseases in captive situations. Likewise, there is no evidence
that chemicals used in agriculture are a threat, although the increased exposure may
cause certain diseases.
The Malleefowl habitat is being severely threatened. Much of the best habitat for
Malleefowl has already been cleared or has been converted into grazing by farm
animals and fire is also a major

It has low calcium, maximum calcium chloride and minimum amount of silica. Also
the hypo sludge behaves like cement because of silica and magnesium properties
present in the waste material which contribute to improve the setting of the concrete.
By utilizing the hypo sludge, it will help to minimize the maximum demand for
cement and also to provide the most economical concrete from it.
Energy plays a crucial role in growth of developing countries like Philippines. In the
context of low availability of non renewable energy resources coupled with the
requirements of large quantities of energy for building materials like cement, the
importance of using industrial waste cannot be underestimated.
During manufacturing of 1 ton of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) we need about 1
1в…“ tons of earth resources like limestone, etc. Further during manufacturing of 1
ton of Ordinary Portland Cement an equal amount of carbon di oxide are released
into the atmosphere. The carbon di oxide emissions act as a silent killer in the
environment under various forms. In this backdrop, the search for cheaper substitute
to OPC is a needful one which the study will provide information. (Online, 2012)

48. World Series Rings Research Paper
World Series rings are awards given to every player in Major League baseball who
has won the World Series. Started in the 1922 World Series when rings were given
to the members of the winning team, the New York Giants, courtesy companies
like Tiffany Co or Balfour, they have grown in stature and size. They flaunt the
team s logo in precious stones like diamonds and rubies and are set in 14 carat
white gold. Teams buying their own members have a system of classification with
the grandest rings for their top players, and watered down versions for players
lower down the rank and team employees. While the first rings had a couple of
diamonds, the modern day version has over 200 diamonds! Valuable Sports
Memorabilia It is also considered by fans as valuable sports memorabilia that can
be auctioned or sold at will. Sites like eBay host such items, and many a player in
want of money has sold his ring and made thousands of dollars. Museums have
replicas as exhibits and there is a reckoning of who has won the most number of
rings. Yogi Berra has won the most number... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Basketball, Super Bowl Football have all got their championship awards in the
form of these rings which are coveted by everyone, but unfortunately can be
enjoyed only by those players and their teams who win the year s championship.
Teams are also made up of fans, who root for their beloved players, shouting
themselves hoarse and cheering them to victory. So, when someone came up with
the idea that these fans too should be rewarded with their own championship rings, it
was implemented by a few companies who dedicated their time, effort, knowledge,
and expertise in making exact replicas of the World series championship rings, as
showy, as exuberant, and as obnoxiously over the top as the originals. The
Championship rings of some of the major tournaments and leagues these companies
