Neat People Vs Sloppy People By Suzanne Britt And Batting...
The essays, Neat People vs Sloppy People by English teacher and writer, Suzanne Britt and
Batting Clean Up and Striking out by humorist and reporter, David Barry take a whole new look
on the dreaded aspects of cleaning. Britt and Barry chose to utilize humor in order to convey to
the audience that everyone has a different way of living. Britt expresses the different lifestyles of
sloppy people to the notorious neat people. Oppositely, Barry compares genderroles in order to see
the differences between how males and females view the definition of clean . Britt and Barry
strengthen their humorous tone by employing exaggeration in pursuance of making their
arguments obvious. Even though these two writers have the same underlying message, their
backgrounds are disparate. As a writer, Britt is motivated by indifference and how one can hold
themselves back and not fight for what they desire or believe in. Throughout Britt s writing, one can
verify her drive to prove what is right. Furthermore, since Britt is an English teacher she
understands the correct and proper way to write. On the other hand, how to write has always been
difficult for Barry but, coming up with the humorous topics is effortless. Both authors illustrate
distinct characteristics between certain personalities that result in different lifestyles and priorities.
While both Britt and Barry express the aspects that come with different personalities and utilize
humorand exaggeration, Britt shows bias towards

The Nazi Camps And The Stalinist Gulag Essay
People living under the Nazi or Communist regimes were faces with constant turmoil and fear of
the unknown during WWII. In this paper, what elements in a Nazi forced labor camp impacted
the prisoners, how is survival addressed, and can there be any free will under these totalitarian
regimes? By looking at the works of two survivors from the Nazi death camps and the Stalinist
Gulag, I will provide a critical response to each of these questions.
Everyday life in the Nazi camps was made as miserable as possible. One way that this was achieved
was the stripping of any humanity. Prisoners were reduced down to nothing but a number. A
definite numbers of prisoners had to go with each transport. It did not really matter which, since
each of them was nothing but a number . This essentially stripped them of their humanity.
There are 3 phases to prison camp life. These were admission, camp life, and liberation. The first
phase is when a prisoner gets admitted to a labor or death camp and it is characterized by initial
shock. Frankl was admitted to Auschwitz and when he arrived via train car he was horrified
because Auschwitz stood for gas chambers, crematoriums, and massacres. Frankl then talks about
the delusion of reprieve where one things that he will be spared right before his execution. Initially
when the trains came to Auschwitz, a special group of prisoners were the receiving line that would
make those on the train feel better about arriving. Nearly everyone in our

The Shareholders Of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Ltd
Earnings per share (also called net income per share) is a ratio that measures net income earned
per share of stock outstanding, and is the money each share of stock would receive if all of the
profits were distributed to the outstanding shares at year end. The higher the EPS, the better the
business is as an investment from a shareholders perspective. EPS could be due to an increase in
profit or a decrease in the number of shares in issue, which causes the return for each share to be
higher.
Application:
Earnings per Share serve as an indicator of a company s profitability. The EPS increased 325 cents
from 773 cents in 2013 to 1098 cents in 2014. The company s profitability increased by 42% in
2014, which is a great improvement from 2013. Profits increased from R3 514 100 000 in 2013 to
R5 005 500 000 in 2014, and this played a big role in causing the EPS to increase by 42%. The
shareholders of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Ltd should be satisfied as the current year (2014) EPS
was higher than usual, and a higher earnings per share ratio often makes the stock price of a
company rise.
Earnings Yield
Earnings Yield 2013 = 37.71%
Earnings Yield 2014 =37.60%
Decreased 0.11% from 37.71% to 37.60%
Definition:
The Earnings Yield (the reciprocal of the P/E Ratio) can be used to easily compare the earnings of
stock or the whole market against bond yields. It is the relationship between the company s share
price and earnings per share. Generally, the Earnings Yields of

Julius Meyer Research Paper
Julius Meyer was a German Chemist, born on August 19, 1830. At first he was interested in the
physiological side of science, but then had a change in his mindset and decided to take up
Chemistry. He was one of the first people to work on the Periodic Table, and if it weren t for
him, the table would look nothing like it does today. He published his periodic table in 1870, it
was inside of a textbook. (Grolier Education). Without Julius Meyer, there would be no periodic
table as there is today. He was the human who realized that the properties of an element a part of
the periodic table all depended on the atomic weight, (Chem Heritage). He had some of the very
first ideas that led to the first copies of our periodic table in the 1870 s (Chem Heritage). Julius
Lothar Meyer had figured out and organized 28 of the elements back in the 1800 s into six
families. He did this by figuring out the physical and chemical characteristics that were similar to
each other in each element. He organized them depending on the valence of each element. Valence
is the number that represents combining power of an atomof a particular element. Meyer saw that
there were some elements missing as he organized them according to the atomic weight, and left
some spots... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is used in classrooms all over and it is used in chemistry labs all over and just in science in
general. Without Julius Meyer we would not have the same periodic table that we have now. He
was the one that realized that valence is the connection between some elements. He learned that
the atomic weight was the way that the periodic table had to be organized. The periodic table is
the reason many things in science are the way the are now. Now we can find out what is in certain
mixtures with just a few minutes starting at the periodic table. The periodic table is known by
everyone and used by everyone and is definitely one of the most useful way of transportation.

For my current events paper, I chose to write about the earthquake that hit Mexico City, I selected
an article from Houston public media news titled Mexico City Earthquake Update: All children
accounted for Mexico City suffered from two power earthquakes just 12 days apart. On September
7th, the first earthquakehit the capital, sending distress throughout the city , and breaking record
as the most powerful earthquake to hit Mexico in a century. Then again on September the 19th
Mexico suffered another earthquake which took place approximately 100 miles from Mexico
City. Officials were finally able to report that there were no longer any missing children at a
Mexico City school that had been severely damaged We ve done an accounting with school
officials, and we are certain that all the children either died, unfortunately, are in the hospital or are
safe at their homes, (pt.3, Sarmiento 2017) he said 19 children and six adults were killed in the

Scientist say strong earthquakes can sometimes alter stresses nearby, leading to subsequent
quakes. (p.4, Stevens 2017) Natural disasters are based on many things, but I think the single
most important is physical geography, or location. If you lived in the drier parts of california, then
you would be more prone to wildfires. If you lived in alaska, then you would be more prone to
avalanches. Unfortunately for those who lived in Mexico, where the North American and pacific
plate meet and create transform plate boundary making it a prime location for earthquakes. Mexico
is located on something scientists call a subduction zone plate boundary. Subduction zones are the
part of the earth where one slab of the crust is slowly sliding under another (pt.6, Stevens 2017) in
simpler terms when two plate boundaries meet at a subduction zone, earthquakes are like a ticking

The Art Of Paintings
The goal of my creative project was to create various splatter paint works that each represented a
key human emotion. I settled on just three and I chose joy, anxiousness, and depression. I bought
three 8 by 10 inches blank canvases to do my work on, paint, and an assortment of brushes. Before
I started I looked up a video on different splatter paint techniques, and I became interested in adding
some texture to my artwork, so the first paintingI worked on, representing joy, I added some
saltwater to it and actual grains of salt. I really wanted this artwork to stand out from the other
two, because of how different this emotion is. The canvas has a yellow background, because I
wanted all the bright colors I used to really pop on the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I knew this activity would be messy, but I did enjoy it and I learned that you really can t go wrong
with a splatter painting. No matter what you do, it is going to be interesting in way, because no
one has done something like it before.
I really enjoyed splatter painting, it was an enjoyable way of just showing my creativity and
letting my mind flow. I think it would be even better to do this with a friend rather than just by
yourself, and next time I will mix other paint colors to create more interesting colors. The
creation showed me that I m capable of doing at least one thing that is artistic, before I would say
that I couldn t even draw a straight line correctly. These three artworks are important to me,
because I have never created art that I am proud of, this is the first time that has ever happened. I
am satisfied with my result, I expressed everything in the way I imagines it. I m not sure that
people could just as readily recognize what emotions each canvas represents, but that doesn t bother
me, I d rather just get some type of reaction out of them than nothing.
I do consider the part of my brain that comes out with ideas to be creative, but there are times that
I can t just make my own idea, I need inspiration from many diverse sources first. I do think my
artwork shows imagination, because I

Catheter Related Blood Stream Infection
Catheter related blood stream infection is very common to patients receiving haemodialysis
treatment. Although catheters provide vascular access, they put the patients at risk for developing
local and systemic infections. Dialysis CRBSI can be obtained during insertion in the operating
theatre and handling of the catheterby the health care team post insertion. Causes include improper
technique in hand washing, breaking principles of aseptic technique when managing catheters and
contaminated supplies. It is quite tough to describe and to put a figure on the occurrence of dialysis
CRBSI despite the presence of standardised procedures in every institution. One more concern
would be the systems for reporting cases of CRBSI among dialysis... Show more content on

The appraisals ran for four weeks during September 2010 in all dialysis units mentioned earlier.
The outcome of the audits on clinical practice which involved forty occasions of CVDC
procedures revealed differences in routine practice. Nurses differ greatly in maintaining
cleanliness of work area before opening the sterile supplies, preserving the dressing set s sterility
and if proper hand scrubbing was either finished or not before touching the catheter. There were
also instances when either the patient or the nurse coughs and talks while the catheter was out in
the open. Documentation audit results which included charts of fifty five patients with CVDC
demonstrated significant contrast of medical records in the bedside to the electronic database in
the unit. It appears that logging of insertions and removals were done obediently on the
electronic database compared to bedside medical records which accounts to merely 10 percent
of catheter site appearance recorded and just 55 percent on documented CVC catheter care for
each treatment. Based from the end results, the working party devised a standardised routine for
managing central venous dialysis catheter in order to decrease differences in practise as well as
to warrant evidence based practice. A standard haemodialysis treatment form has also been
adjusted to include a part wherein the observations regarding the catheter exit site as well as
dressing could be examined and recorded in every session of dialysis.

Case Study 2: Denny Clifford
Preliminary Analysis Question
Describe how the identified resources can be repurposed to address specific ID needs. Denny
Clifford (ID) has identified resources such as numerous published articles related to children
learning based on Dr. Oakes problem centered science curriculum, a list of 24 teachers with
experiences in the problem solving technique, a box of videotapes of teachers applying the problem
solving technique in their classrooms, a list of local teachers interested in learning about Dr. Oakes
problem centered science curriculum, and a copy of the grant proposal that funded the development
of the materials for science teachers (Ertmer and Cennamo, 2007). These resources can be
repurposed into something new and different by creating a website for professional training tailored
for teachers and administrators interested in the problem centered science curriculum. The website
can include:
New resources and tools personalized for various groups of audience. For example; adding closed
captions to videos in various languages to meet the needs of learners from across the country.
Detailed information about the problem solving science curriculum which can be obtained from the
published articles and copy of the grant proposal.
Videos, podcasts or links to them, which explains the problem solving learning approach
A blog and forum section for teachers to access additional information and to answer some of
their frequently asked questions. The blog will provide opportunities for Dr. Oakes to add new
information and updates which might come from her research or/and other teachers. Whereas, the
forum section can address specific issues or concerns that will benefit teachers from across the
country. It will also allow teachers to collaborate and work with each other over similar issues or
concerns. The continued interaction and feedback from the blog and forum can help Dr. Oakes
review the content and progress, and provide Denny with opportunities to solve individual problems
in a timely manner.
Testimonials of some of the 24 teachers that participated in previous workshops. These testimonials
can show novice teachers how to approach and interact with students

Anatomy And Physiology Research Paper
Anatomy and Physiology is the study of the human body. Anatomy is the study of the internal
and external structure of body parts. Physiology is the study of the function of those body parts.
In an anatomy and physiology course you will examine the body parts and the way that these
body parts function together to keep us alive. The definition of homeostasis is the means or
ability to keep the body stable in order to compensate for environmental changes. A really good
example of homeostasis is the body keeping the average temperature of 98.6 degrees. Homeostasis
is important because cells rely on the body to live and operate. Homeostasis keeps the body
environment under control and keeps the environment right for cells to live and operate. Without...

There are positive feedback mechanisms and negative feedback mechanisms. Positive feedback
is a closed system that occurs in a feedback loop and the response of the system relies on the
feedback system to function. A good example of this would be a blood clot. When a vessel is
harmed, platelets begin to stick to the harmed site and discharge chemicals that pull in more
platelets. The platelets keep on heaping up and discharge chemicals until a coagulation is
formed and you now have a blood clot. Negative feedback is a response that causes a decline in
its function. It is a reaction to some kind of stimulus. It usually causes the output of a system to
lessen which in turn tends to stabilize the system. The skin protects underlying tissues and organs,
excretes salts, water, and organic wastes. It also regulates your body temperature. The hair
protects your scalp from UV rays, cushions blows to the head, and insulates the skull. Nails
protect the sensitive tips of your fingers and your toes. Exocrine glands keep the skin oily, produce
sweat, and secrete earwax to keep the ear from drying out. Ensure the body s inner living tissues and

Reflective Reflection In Reflection
My reflection regarding the previous classes, I found them to be very educational and engaging
which I think helped me to broaden and deepen my understanding of program planning. Working on
the Off campus Teaching Reflection and the Observation and Report on an Adult Learning Class or
Center assignments provided me a unique opportunity to apply what I have learned from this
course into the real world. In these classes, we covered the following topics: Designing Instruction,
Devising Transfer of Learning Plans, Access and Participation, Formulating Program Evaluation
Plans, Assessment and Evaluation, Selecting Formats, Scheduling, and Staffing Programs. After
reading chapter 8 of Planning Programs for Adult Learners by Rosemary Caffarella and Sandra
Daffron, it showed me when designing instruction we need to have a clear and understandable
learning objectives that meet intended outcomes. Developing learning objectives plays important
role in program planning, therefore, we must make sure must learn content are included. When it
comes to choosing instructional techniques we should use techniques that enable scaffolding,
suitable to the audience and their background knowledge and work for the strengths of the
instructor. We should select instructional resources that enhance the learning effort and select an
assessment component. Using assessment data should be in formative and summative ways. We
need to prepare clear instructional plans and choose instructors who know their

Black Women In The Media
Colorism is the discrimination towards someone with a darker skin tone particularly in the black
community. Whenever you view something in the media about a dark skinned African American
female, it is usually negative. But why is this? The white society dominates the media by
controlling mainly everything that is displayed. The white society still likes to believe that since
African Americans were once slaves that they will never amount to anything when they get older.
Yes, dark skinned Africans American females were once slaves but that shouldn t change the way
society now views them. When the 13th amendment was ratified, slavery was abolished therefore
people should stop discriminating towards those who have a darker skin complexion. Just... Show

People tried to change the way African American females were viewed by writing articles about
how media perceives them to be but it is now 2015 and African American women are still being
portrayed negatively. Yes there has been some improvements but not enough to change the way
society views African American women. Writers of television shows need to create more
movies with strong African Americans in them and stop thinking that white women are always
the way to go. African American women are no longer slaves so why are they still being seen as
women who can t be successful because of where they come from. If more African American
women spoke out about the challenges they ve faced and how they ve overcame those challenges
and are now successful they could empower other African American women to speak out about
their selves as well. Children growing up look up to celebrities, so if celebrities such as _____

Saltwater Experiment
Fresh water is less dense than salt water, which causes fresh water to accumulate on the top
surface of the salt water. In the brine experiment, I concluded that freshwater has a density of 1.0
g/ml and salt water has a density of 1.025g/ml. After removing the cups of salt water and
freshwater from the freezer it was evident that the freshwater was frozen throughout, however the
salt water had a layer of water below the freezing fresh water.
Salt water freezes at a lower temperature than fresh water. As fresh water freezes, it forces the salt
out. When seawater freezes, the salt is forced out of the ice in a process called brine exclusion .
Therefore, sea ice is essentially fresh water (Worster, 1992). The removed salt increases the salinity

Dense, cooler, and usually nutrient rich water moves towards the ocean surface, replacing the
warmer, usually nutrient depleted surface water (Vizcarra, 2015). Changes in the force and
direction of ocean currents will affect the availability of nutrients. The top layer of the ocean
collects the warmth and energy of sunlight, while the bottom layers collect the rich, nutrient filled
sediment of decayed plant and animal matter (Vizcarra, 2015). These nutrients are carried by the
conveyor belt to other ocean regions and supply nutrient rich materials to areas that would have low
amounts of nutrients if the thermohaline circulation didn t exist. Ocean life is dependent on these
nutrients for sustainment. It would lead to an imbalance or even destruction of certain food chains.
Before sinking, the water absorbs enormous amounts of gases such as carbon dioxide at the ocean
surface, and then transports them to greater depths (Vizcarra, 2015). Marine plants use dissolved
carbon dioxide, sunlight, and water to make carbohydrates through the process of photosynthesis.
This process releases oxygen into the water. All marine organisms use oxygen for respiration. If
thermohaline circulation is changed it will affect the amount of these gases that are available and
essential for the survival of marine

What Is The Similarities Between Flowers For Algernon And...
Does knowledge really bring true happiness? In the story Flowers for Algernon Charlie Gordon is
a 37 year old, mentally challenged man, who wants nothing more than to be smart. Well he got his
chance to be smart and he took it; he was chosen for an operation that could change his life and
make him much more intelligent than he actually was. Charlie thought being smart would make
him normal but the operation ended up being unsuccessful. He went back to the way he was. In the
story The Garden Of Eden, Adam and Evewere chosen to be the first humans. They chose to bite
from the tree of knowledge and disobey God. They were punished to live life and then die. Both
Charlie Gordon, and Adam and eve resemble each other in many ways. Both Flowers for Algernon
and the Garden of Eden are both similar as they both thought biting from the tree of knowledge
would bring them intelligence. In the beginning of the story of Flowers for Algernon, Charlie
was blessed with happiness, but always desired to be smart. Just like the story the Garden of

Nafta Pros And Cons
The North American Free Trade Agreement is one of the more interesting topics which I almost

presidential election and has almost sealed the fate of the Trans Pacific Partnership free trade
agreement. When NAFTA was passed it seemed like there were only weak arguments against it
and nothing but benefits from all three participating countries would occur. Anyone can see that the
gross domestic product and tax revenues generated from all three countries has had a significant
boost as pointed out by Ian and his sources(de Mestral, 2011). However, I looked at the overall

Comparison Of Sangria And Cranberry Juice
Sangria and cranberry juice do look similar but maybe someone would have double checked
considering the drink was going to a 2 YEAR OLD. Last Friday, Derek Gilliam took his family
to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate his 25th birthday. Standard family night out, nothing to see
here. His 2 year old daughter asked for a glass of cranberry juice from her parents (what a classy
toddler!) so obviously, they obliged. After the little girl gave it a couple sips, she mentioned to
her parents that it tasted funny. When her parents went to check it, they realized the server gave
her SANGRIA instead of CRANBERRY JUICE. For any first timers here, sangria usually includes
large amounts of red wine and brandy. So yes, it is very different than mom approved

Irrational use of medications as a worldwide problem. 1.Describe the key concepts in rational use of

When Senior Year Came Up
Then senior year came up. Since I loved California and since I didn t want my parents to pay for
the extra out of state tuition, I decided to apply to in state (California) schools, such as
Universities of California, California State Universities, and Private Universities. As I was
applying to colleges, I decided to apply as a Statistics major. Even though I have never taken
statistics classes before, I knew Statistics would be the best option for me due to many reasons.
First of all, I was really good at and loved math, and I thought a degree in Statistics would get me
better jobs than a degree in Mathematics. Secondly, I enjoyed playing around with baseball data,
baseball stats and thus, I thought I could be able to play around with more baseball data if I
study statistics. Finally, during my senior year, I never knew what field (sciences, business, social
studies, etc.) I really wanted to get into and I felt that statistics can be applied to basically any field
and thus would not hurt me in the future when I find something I really wanted to do. After five
months of crossing my fingers and being nervous about my collegeacceptance, I got all my
acceptance letters and rejection letters. Other than San Diego State University, I was given three
other universities to choose from. As a result, my spring break of senior year was dedicated to
visiting Universities and deciding which college I should go to. After a week or two of thinking, I

Ibn Khaldun s 4 Step Model
Ibn Khaldun s 4 Step Model
Asabiyyah means a unification of people through a common system of beliefs, culture, language,
history, and traditions forming a community. Ibn Khaldun a historian/sociologist, describes this
through many of his aspects of writings of the 14th century, describing the bond of cohesion among
humans in a group forming community (Wikipedia: Muuaddimah). Asabiyyah can be from small
societies such as nomadic people in tribes, to much larger societies such as empires and states
containing sedentary people.
The Nomads were people of a tribe who would migrate around many different places in search of
new viable resources, wealth, and technology when their supply of food and land would be
exploited. The nomads were the hunter gatherers of the 7th 13th centuries and also even having
their own livestock in most cases. They herded sheep, cattle, goats, horses, and many other
animals. Since they move from place to place so much they do not partake in agriculture so
much, or even so on a long term basis. The nomads would migrate for reasons such as to raid
settled communities or avoid approaching enemy conflicts. It being their natural way of life,
living off of the land and working for their own food and shelter, they were seen as savages in most
eyes. The Nomadic people were made up of warriors and tribal elders of a low culture society. The
tribal elders being the chairmen of the tribe/chiefs who were the key holders, sources, and

Masks Depicted In Paul Laurence Dunbar s They Wear The Mask
In society, people are constantly worried about fitting in and fear being themselves will hinder
their ability to conform to society. Many people fear that being themselves will have a detrimental
effect on their social life, and others feel that they are outcasts and that they need to be someone
they re not in order to be socially accepted. People often try to hide their true personality, and wear
a mask. To metaphorically wear a mask is to express yourself the way you want to be seen, rather
than how you actually feel. This instills the idea that one s own personality is not good enough,
creating a fear of being yourself, causing people to wear a mask. People wear these masks in an
attempt to navigate in society, to preserve innocence,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Mr. Dolphus Raymond pretends he is drinking alcohol when he is really drinking

navigate in society and try to give em a reason (228). Mr. Raymond also tells Scout and Dill that,
It ain t honest but it s mighty helpful to folks. Secretly, Miss Finch, I m not much of a drinker,
but you see they could never, never understand that I live like I do because that s the way I want

Miss Maudie informs Scout and Jem that Atticus Finch was the deadest shot in Maycomb County
in his time (112). He wears a mask to hide his skill because he wants to preserve the lives of
innocent animals. Miss Maudie then speculates that he put his gun down when he realized that God
had given him an unfair advantage over most living things (112). Atticus is a civilized person, so he

Investigating The Distillation Apparatus For Operation At...
1.1PROBLEM SUMMARY:
Solar still (distillation) is the process used to distil impure water using solar energy. The input is
muddy/brackish/saline water and we get pure water as output.
This project revolves around design and fabrication of a solar distillation apparatus, which will give
efficient distillation on a round the clock basis, and is capable of providing rural areas with pure
and healthy drinking water supply.
We will be concentrating our efforts on re designing the distillation apparatus for operation at
maximum efficiency. The distillation tank will rest on a platform made of cast iron. A
commercially available storage tank will be used for storing the saline water. This tank will then
be covered by a glass cover, on top and other suitable materials will be used as thermal shield on the
sides, to retain the heat. Reflectors will be added to supplement the incoming solar radiation. To
make this apparatus function continuously, we plan to attach a solar panel powered rechargeable
battery to an auxiliary heater which would help distil the water during night time. The sediment
accumulated as impurity can be removed by manual cleaning of the internal tank once a week
/fortnight.
This entire process of designing and fabrication of this apparatus will take about 7 8 months after
which it will be put to rigorous testing for about 2 months, to validate our claims.
Due to rising sea water levels, increased use of chemical fertilizers and lack water distribution

Testing And Experimentation Isn t A Buzz Term
Introduction Testing and experimentation isn t a buzz term, a lot of astute marketing and
designs are incorporating it to step up the conversion rate and also gain insights into customer s
behavior [3]. The advantage the web has over other channels is the capability to test and fail at a
reduced cost [7]. A test is defined as a procedure for critical evaluation carried out to achieve
good, measurable results in a short time frame [10]. Most people think of experiments as
restricted to chemistry lab or by cross breeding plants in the name of biology, but marketing
experiment has been around for a long time, from testing concept stores in various geographies
before the product is launched to showing different television curriculum in a particular state at
different time for different audience [10]. In order for the business to scale through magnificent
height, a testing program should be adopted for every business regardless of its size [7]. The
following are the benefits of experimenting and testing for every organization: Guess work is
eliminated; you no longer have to presume what will work on the website [7]. The website goals
can be easily identified and measured [7]. The web analyst is less concerned about analytics for
reporting or building multivariate or regression platforms, every testing tool comes with various
analytics reports [7]. Experimenting can be conducted for free using tools such as Google website

We can all recall that time between graduating high school and beginning our freshman year of

small town that we called home. The summer began to come to a close, and we could hardly
contain our excitement to finally start our new adventure. Collegebegan, classes and homework

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, right? While most of my newfound

however, the anxiety and stress caused by attempting to balance homework, practicing, a social
life, a healthy diet, a halfway decent sleep schedule, and thousands of other factors often would
lead to our decisions practically already being made for us. With meals and a bed provided for

St. Thomas Aquinas s An Unjust Law
St. Thomas Aquinas argues that an an unjust law is no law at all. (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002,
p.19) However, Aquinas also acknowledges that a human lawgiver may promulgate a command
that has the form of law, and is enforced like a law, yet is unjust. This observation leads to the
realization that these are two inconsistent claims. Yet Aquinas believes that these inconstancies can
be reconciled. In Aquinas view an unjust law is not a law but yet is also able to be issued as law
and imposed as law. Throughout the course of this essay, I will first define what Aquinas means by
incorporating the claim that an unjust law is no law at all . This will include defining important
terms that will correspond with evaluating Aquinas claim.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is imperative to understand Aquinas definition of just and unjust laws. Through defining these
terms, we will be able to understand Aquinas claim. A law that is just has the power of binding
in conscience (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20). It is derived from eternal law and therefore
inherently morally correct. An unjust law lacks this integral quality. Aquinas is willing to say
that an unjust law is a so called law, but a just law is a law proper in its entirety. A law is said to
be just when it is ordained for the common good, does not exceed the power of the lawgiver and
any burdens put on the subjects are done proportionally and equally and aim for the common
good (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20). In comparison an unjust law can be contrary to the
human good and additionally opposing to the divine good. A law can conflict with the human
good in one of three ways; either through its end, author or its form. A lawmaker issues an unjust
law according to its end when he imposes on his subjects burdensome laws, conducive not to the
common good, but rather to his own cupidity or vainglory (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20).
If a lawmaker imposes a law that favors the leader but at the same time imposes unfair burdens
on the whole of society, it can be assumed that he is working for his glory and selfish desires.
Secondly, a law according to its form would be

Many of the smaller surrounding states saw the successes of the customs union and so decided to
join themselves. From then on many large states joined. The customs union became known as the
Zollverein.
The Zollverein was a great success and was a large step to the unification of Germany. The
systems of weights and measures was homogenised within the states of the Zollverein. The major
differences between the states were now becoming not so apparent. Due to the abolition of
customs barriers and the currency no longer varying from each state trade increased between the
countries. This did not occur however without the help of the railways. Lines were extended
throughout the states of the Zollverein. Because of this, delegates were able to travel quickly and
efficiently to other states to agree trade treaties. Communication between the states increased
greatly and now not only were economic barriers broken down but also physical ones.
Communication to enable unity increased greatly through the railways. One economist described
the railway network as the firm girdle around the loins of Germany binding her limbs together into
a forceful and powerful body .
The Zollverein also aided in the unification of Germany as it increased feelings of one country in
other words, nationalism. The railways helped with the spread of German press. Now

Beethoven 5th Symphony Essay
Symphony No.5 in C minor, ensembles work by German composer Ludwig Van Beethoven.
Generally perceived by the unfavorable four note opening theme frequently translated as the
musical appearance of fate knocking at the door.
This hard hitting piece included flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, timpani, and
groups of violins, piccolo, contrabassoon, and trombones. The rhythm of the 5th symphony was
very important. Beethoven created a tempo allegro con brio (fast with spirit). I think him doing
this worked well with this piece and made it that much more creative. As for the tone color, that s
a hard one. There is no overall tone color for the whole symphony. The harmony was mainly
minor mode. The notes were very present and it got easier to hear and notice the instruments once

The Consumer Decision Making Process
Introduction Consumer behaviour examines how individuals acquire, use and dispose of
company offerings (Noel 2009). Acquiring a product or service is not the only consideration of
consumer behaviour but the various stages and processes before these offerings are bought. In
this essay I will be analysing a television purchase I made from Argos using the consumer
decision making process and concluding with a justification in the context on consumer decision
making process. The consumer decision making process is a compound process, which involves
six stages problem recognition, Information search, pre purchase evaluation of alternatives,
purchase, consumption, post consumption evaluation and divestment. First Stage: Problem
Recognition Problem recognition is the first stage in the consumer making process; it arises
when there is an occurrence of a want or need. These needs could be simple, complicated or
ambiguous depending on a consumer s needs, attitudes, expectations, and personality. Maslow s
hierarchy of needs suggests that the basic needs such as food, sleep and shelter need to be
satisfied before moving up the pyramid, however, in my case I prioritized my safety and esteem
needs. Having moved into a new apartment of my own, I presumed the TV I had bought a year

The Effects Of Immune System On The Body
Immunity
MersihaFrlj
Herzing University, Minneapolis MN
The purpose of the immune system is to prevent and minimize infections; this is how the body
protects us from microbes that would otherwise make us ill or kill us (Dugdale, 2013). The immune
system works by differentiating between our own cells (self antigens), foreign cells (antigens), and
pathogenic microbes (Dugdale, 2013). When our cells discover anything unfamiliar, our immune
system works to destroy it(Dug dale, 2013). If the immune system cannot activate to kill foreign
cells, we can get infections (Dugdale, 2013). Conversely, if it is activated without any foreign cells
present it can cause pathopysiological problems (Dugdale,2013). This paper will focus on the ...

Jonathon Swift Misogyny
Jonathon Swift steps into risky territory as he addresses misogyny in the invasive, satirical way
he does in his (year) controversial poem The Lady s Dressing Room. Perhaps not surprisingly,
Lady Montagu takes advantage of her literary pull and writes a satirical response, clearly
offended by the misogynist message she assumed the poem to have. While Swift s poem gives a
significant amount of evidence to justify Montagu s retort, there is perhaps a deeper amount of
evidence that suggests she missed Swift s point. Each poem has a satiric closure at its end, but
Swift s choice of words lean towards a position of commentary on misogynyrather than a position

gaudy, simply because of its modern connotation to mean something is showy, or tasteless in its

crisis because of how desired it was (Donatini). This being said, the tulip had not only visual
beauty but historical extravagance. Knowing the background on both gaudy and tulip, it is easy to
see that Lady Montagu failed to see the rich beauty Swift truly was emphasizing that is found
within women, a beauty that is truly dependent upon, not despite, their dung like qualities. [This
imagery paints an incredible picture of the idea that beauty can, and traditionally does, come from
forth from unexpected places. This is true especially when one takes the image further in terms of
the seed of the tulip having contained within it all the beauty it will possess when it becomes a full
flower, thus needing the rich dung to encourage that beauty to blossom.] It is evident that Montagu

Figurative Language In Prophetic Literature
1)
The figurative language in prophetic literature, wisdom literature, and Lamentations all depict
feminine figures and characteristics. The prophetic literature consists of Amos, Hosea, Isiah,
Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. In these scriptures, the people of Israel are depicted as pitiless and
loveless by naming the Children of Hosea and Gomer Lo ruhamah and Lo ammi explaining
them as children of whoredom . This imagery is seen as Israel (Gomer) as a woman who has
betrayed God (Hosea) through infidelity, worshiping other Gods and procreating with other
people in those religions. We see Israel as an exposed woman for her iniquity (Hosea 2:3 9) a
shaming for her transgressions as a bride. God casts Israel out of the home for her disloyalty (Hosea

Two metanarratives are seen in the Chronicles; the importance and redemption of repentance, and
the reoccurring theme throughout the old testament, exile and return. David is the model for
repentance but there is a new story of repentance not seen in the book of Kings, Manasseh. In 2
Chronicles 33:10 13 Manasseh repents for his foreign worship and more, by building an outer
wall to protect the city of David and removed false idols to restore the altars of YHWH. The
repentance of Manasseh is completely missing in the book of Kings. Exile and return are
experienced in 2 Chronicles 36:11 21, although kings may have repented (David, Solomon, and
Manasseh) it is not implied that the people of Israel have also (2 Chronicles 34:23 24) and
therefore God lets His people return to exile. The holy places are destroyed and desecrated while
the Israelites are forced again into exile. Thankfully, exile is always followed with return and
restoration. King Cyrus acknowledges the Hebrew God and rebuilds the temple and the Israelites
are free from exile once

Isolation In Into The Wild, By Jon Krakauer
What are the harms of isolation?
Solitude, one simple yet powerful word strikes fear in the hearts of our vast population. Shunning is
considered an extreme form of punishment in Amish communities and is used to force criminals
into repentance. In closer comparison to our society, criminals are put into empty cells and are cut
off from the outside world as punishment. Considering the severity of the previously mentioned
examples, why is isolation considered a harmful punishment? Isolation causes a wide spectrum of
mental illnesses, oppression, and cuts off communication. Clearly, inclusion into society is a major
necessity to human survival.
As previously stated, social isolation causes a multitude of mental illnesses. For example, an
experiment conducted by the students at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine successfully
demonstrates the effects of solitude on mice. The mice were separated from each other and their
brains stopped producing vital Myelin cells. These cells protect nerve endings which help the brain
properly send electrical impulses. Without the proper amount of ... Show more content on

Naturally, humans separated from society will quickly become completely unaware of their
surroundings due to lack of communication. Jon Krakauer s novel, Into the Wild, demonstrates that
abandonment from communications due to isolation can prove to be fatal in severe cases. Jon
Krakauer writes about a man named Chris McCandless, who intentionally isolates himself from
society by changing his name and deciding to live in the Alaskan wilderness on his own. By
surrounding himself in this foreign environment, Chris loses communications. A few months after
Chris starts his new life, he begins to slowly starve to death. If Chris had not made the rash
decision to blindly run into the solitude of the wild, he could have prevented his death by calling a
relative, an ambulance, or a friend to save his

Black Masculinity And The Black Of A Black Boy s Life
Throughout the matriculation of a black boy s life, there are many, (labeled natural, yet are
culturally, socially and institutionally based) factors, that govern the holistic views and beliefs
entailed to the child. From that moment on, challenging the social structures that these norms entail
suggest a sense of sensitivity, homosexualityor weakness, ultimately emasculating the highly
regarded social stigmas attached with being a man. Despite being indoctrinated into the minds of
black boys from an early age, there are many long lasting effects of masculinity that are in turn
reciprocated in the role of black fathers, husbands, brothers and friends. Black masculinity is the self
deteriorating idealisms that attack the identity and social positions black men ascribe to.
The identity of the black man is the most crucial element attacked by black masculinity. Stemming
from a limited variety of acceptable self expression, black masculinity emphasizes the need for an
overly tough outer appearance while internally suppressing emotions of fear and sadness. These
notions are particularly vivid in mainstream hip hop culture. In Byron Hurt s Hip hop Beyond Beats
and Rhymes, Hurt sits down with some of the industries most respected artist who attest that
anything nonhood will dilute [their] toughness. Nonhood suggesting outwardly signs of affection,
comfortability in the uprise of woman, and the dialogue and communication between Black
brothers both verbal and nonverbal. These

The Process of Photosynthesis and Practicals
Introduction One of the most important bological processes on earth is photosynthesis. Plants that
comprise the majority of the food we consume need photosynthesis in order to produce life
sustaining energy. This energy is harnessed by the sun. If it were not for photosynthesis to capture
and use this vital energy, life itself would be minimal or almost non existent. Photosynthesis
entails a process that involves complex and fundamental actions that occur in plants, algae as well
as some bacteria. They use sunlight to produce carbohydrates. Oxygen is then created from carbon
dioxide (CO2) and water (Jackson, 2008). The carbohydrates created through photosynthesis
enables growth and normal functioning for the plant to sustain life. Here is an example of a
formulation of photosynthesis by Campbell et al. Light 6CO2 + 6H20 6 (CH2O) + 6O2
Chlorophyll (Campbell et al. 2009) Chloroplasts are the main place for photosynthesis to occur in
plants occurs. Chloroplasts are important organelles, and can be found within plant cells. The
structure of chloroplasts are complex networks of sacs. These are called thylakoids. Chlorophyll.
located within the membranes of thylakoids, give color to plants (Campbell et al. 2009).
Cholrophyll is a key component in allowing most photosynthesis. Chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b
are the two forms within chlorophyll. Along with chlorophylls, chloroplasts contain other
photosynthesising pigments. These are called carotene

What Is Bargaining Power Of Suppliers
1.Bargaining Power of Supplier: According to Akbar and Inggriantara, 2012, p. 392, Supplier s

The nuclear family vs. alternative family structure

as technology, changing structure of families e.g. women entering workplace and divorce rate that

Today a lot of people strive for emotional security, if they cannot find it in a particular relationship
they are currently involved in, they are able to terminate that relationship and persuade it
elsewhere. This difference in these structures, from financial security to emotional security,
makes it flexible for people to move about because of the decrease in dependence on men from
women. This had been said, does not make the people incapable of raising of children, but
highlights their level of independency. They are also able to provide a safe and nutritious life for
their children as in nuclear families.
This structure also comes with great benefits like children not getting exposed to conflict that may
detriment them physically and emotionally due to things such as parents fighting, they develop a

  • 3. Neat People Vs Sloppy People By Suzanne Britt And Batting... The essays, Neat People vs Sloppy People by English teacher and writer, Suzanne Britt and Batting Clean Up and Striking out by humorist and reporter, David Barry take a whole new look on the dreaded aspects of cleaning. Britt and Barry chose to utilize humor in order to convey to the audience that everyone has a different way of living. Britt expresses the different lifestyles of sloppy people to the notorious neat people. Oppositely, Barry compares genderroles in order to see the differences between how males and females view the definition of clean . Britt and Barry strengthen their humorous tone by employing exaggeration in pursuance of making their arguments obvious. Even though these two writers have the same underlying message, their backgrounds are disparate. As a writer, Britt is motivated by indifference and how one can hold themselves back and not fight for what they desire or believe in. Throughout Britt s writing, one can verify her drive to prove what is right. Furthermore, since Britt is an English teacher she understands the correct and proper way to write. On the other hand, how to write has always been difficult for Barry but, coming up with the humorous topics is effortless. Both authors illustrate distinct characteristics between certain personalities that result in different lifestyles and priorities. While both Britt and Barry express the aspects that come with different personalities and utilize humorand exaggeration, Britt shows bias towards ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Nazi Camps And The Stalinist Gulag Essay People living under the Nazi or Communist regimes were faces with constant turmoil and fear of the unknown during WWII. In this paper, what elements in a Nazi forced labor camp impacted the prisoners, how is survival addressed, and can there be any free will under these totalitarian regimes? By looking at the works of two survivors from the Nazi death camps and the Stalinist Gulag, I will provide a critical response to each of these questions. Everyday life in the Nazi camps was made as miserable as possible. One way that this was achieved was the stripping of any humanity. Prisoners were reduced down to nothing but a number. A definite numbers of prisoners had to go with each transport. It did not really matter which, since each of them was nothing but a number . This essentially stripped them of their humanity. There are 3 phases to prison camp life. These were admission, camp life, and liberation. The first phase is when a prisoner gets admitted to a labor or death camp and it is characterized by initial shock. Frankl was admitted to Auschwitz and when he arrived via train car he was horrified because Auschwitz stood for gas chambers, crematoriums, and massacres. Frankl then talks about the delusion of reprieve where one things that he will be spared right before his execution. Initially when the trains came to Auschwitz, a special group of prisoners were the receiving line that would make those on the train feel better about arriving. Nearly everyone in our ... I settled on just three and I chose joy, anxiousness, and depression. I bought three 8 by 10 inches blank canvases to do my work on, paint, and an assortment of brushes. Before I started I looked up a video on different splatter paint techniques, and I became interested in adding some texture to my artwork, so the first paintingI worked on, representing joy, I added some saltwater to it and actual grains of salt. Dialysis CRBSI can be obtained during insertion in the operating theatre and handling of the catheterby the health care team post insertion. Causes include improper technique in hand washing, breaking principles of aseptic technique when managing catheters and contaminated supplies. The appraisals ran for four weeks during September 2010 in all dialysis units mentioned earlier. The outcome of the audits on clinical practice which involved forty occasions of CVDC procedures revealed differences in routine practice. Nurses differ greatly in maintaining cleanliness of work area before opening the sterile supplies, preserving the dressing set s sterility and if proper hand scrubbing was either finished or not before touching the catheter. There were also instances when either the patient or the nurse coughs and talks while the catheter was out in the open. Documentation audit results which included charts of fifty five patients with CVDC demonstrated significant contrast of medical records in the bedside to the electronic database in the unit. It appears that logging of insertions and removals were done obediently on the electronic database compared to bedside medical records which accounts to merely 10 percent of catheter site appearance recorded and just 55 percent on documented CVC catheter care for each treatment. Based from the end results, the working party devised a standardised routine for managing central venous dialysis catheter in order to decrease differences in practise as well as to warrant evidence based practice. A standard haemodialysis treatment form has also been adjusted to include a part wherein the observations regarding the catheter exit site as well as dressing could be examined and recorded in every session of dialysis. ... Denny Clifford (ID) has identified resources such as numerous published articles related to children learning based on Dr. Oakes problem centered science curriculum, a list of 24 teachers with experiences in the problem solving technique, a box of videotapes of teachers applying the problem solving technique in their classrooms, a list of local teachers interested in learning about Dr. Oakes problem centered science curriculum, and a copy of the grant proposal that funded the development of the materials for science teachers (Ertmer and Cennamo, 2007). These resources can be repurposed into something new and different by creating a website for professional training tailored for teachers and administrators interested in the problem centered science curriculum. The website can include: New resources and tools personalized for various groups of audience. For example; adding closed captions to videos in various languages to meet the needs of learners from across the country. Detailed information about the problem solving science curriculum which can be obtained from the published articles and copy of the grant proposal. Videos, podcasts or links to them, which explains the problem solving learning approach A blog and forum section for teachers to access additional information and to answer some of their frequently asked questions. The blog will provide opportunities for Dr. Oakes to add new information and updates which might come from her research or/and other teachers. Whereas, the forum section can address specific issues or concerns that will benefit teachers from across the country. It will also allow teachers to collaborate and work with each other over similar issues or concerns. The continued interaction and feedback from the blog and forum can help Dr. Oakes review the content and progress, and provide Denny with opportunities to solve individual problems in a timely manner. Testimonials of some of the 24 teachers that participated in previous workshops. These testimonials can show novice teachers how to approach and interact with students ... Physiology is the study of the function of those body parts. In an anatomy and physiology course you will examine the body parts and the way that these body parts function together to keep us alive. The definition of homeostasis is the means or ability to keep the body stable in order to compensate for environmental changes. A really good example of homeostasis is the body keeping the average temperature of 98.6 degrees. Homeostasis is important because cells rely on the body to live and operate. There are positive feedback mechanisms and negative feedback mechanisms. Positive feedback is a closed system that occurs in a feedback loop and the response of the system relies on the feedback system to function. A good example of this would be a blood clot. When a vessel is harmed, platelets begin to stick to the harmed site and discharge chemicals that pull in more platelets. The platelets keep on heaping up and discharge chemicals until a coagulation is formed and you now have a blood clot. Negative feedback is a response that causes a decline in its function. It is a reaction to some kind of stimulus. It usually causes the output of a system to lessen which in turn tends to stabilize the system. Reflective Reflection In Reflection My reflection regarding the previous classes, I found them to be very educational and engaging which I think helped me to broaden and deepen my understanding of program planning. Working on the Off campus Teaching Reflection and the Observation and Report on an Adult Learning Class or Center assignments provided me a unique opportunity to apply what I have learned from this course into the real world. In these classes, we covered the following topics: Designing Instruction, Devising Transfer of Learning Plans, Access and Participation, Formulating Program Evaluation Plans, Assessment and Evaluation, Selecting Formats, Scheduling, and Staffing Programs. After reading chapter 8 of Planning Programs for Adult Learners by Rosemary Caffarella and Sandra Daffron, it showed me when designing instruction we need to have a clear and understandable learning objectives that meet intended outcomes. Developing learning objectives plays important role in program planning, therefore, we must make sure must learn content are included. When it comes to choosing instructional techniques we should use techniques that enable scaffolding, suitable to the audience and their background knowledge and work for the strengths of the instructor. We should select instructional resources that enhance the learning effort and select an assessment component. Using assessment data should be in formative and summative ways. In the brine experiment, I concluded that freshwater has a density of 1.0 g/ml and salt water has a density of 1.025g/ml. After removing the cups of salt water and freshwater from the freezer it was evident that the freshwater was frozen throughout, however the salt water had a layer of water below the freezing fresh water. Salt water freezes at a lower temperature than fresh water. As fresh water freezes, it forces the salt out. When seawater freezes, the salt is forced out of the ice in a process called brine exclusion . Therefore, sea ice is essentially fresh water (Worster, 1992). Dense, cooler, and usually nutrient rich water moves towards the ocean surface, replacing the warmer, usually nutrient depleted surface water (Vizcarra, 2015). Changes in the force and direction of ocean currents will affect the availability of nutrients. The top layer of the ocean collects the warmth and energy of sunlight, while the bottom layers collect the rich, nutrient filled sediment of decayed plant and animal matter (Vizcarra, 2015). These nutrients are carried by the conveyor belt to other ocean regions and supply nutrient rich materials to areas that would have low amounts of nutrients if the thermohaline circulation didn t exist. Ocean life is dependent on these nutrients for sustainment. It would lead to an imbalance or even destruction of certain food chains. Before sinking, the water absorbs enormous amounts of gases such as carbon dioxide at the ocean surface, and then transports them to greater depths (Vizcarra, 2015). Marine plants use dissolved carbon dioxide, sunlight, and water to make carbohydrates through the process of photosynthesis. This process releases oxygen into the water. Asabiyyah can be from small societies such as nomadic people in tribes, to much larger societies such as empires and states containing sedentary people. The nomads were the hunter gatherers of the 7th 13th centuries and also even having their own livestock in most cases. They herded sheep, cattle, goats, horses, and many other animals. Many people fear that being themselves will have a detrimental effect on their social life, and others feel that they are outcasts and that they need to be someone they re not in order to be socially accepted. People often try to hide their true personality, and wear a mask. To metaphorically wear a mask is to express yourself the way you want to be seen, rather than how you actually feel. • 26. Investigating The Distillation Apparatus For Operation At... 1.1PROBLEM SUMMARY: Solar still (distillation) is the process used to distil impure water using solar energy. The input is muddy/brackish/saline water and we get pure water as output. This project revolves around design and fabrication of a solar distillation apparatus, which will give efficient distillation on a round the clock basis, and is capable of providing rural areas with pure and healthy drinking water supply. We will be concentrating our efforts on re designing the distillation apparatus for operation at maximum efficiency. The distillation tank will rest on a platform made of cast iron. A commercially available storage tank will be used for storing the saline water. This tank will then be covered by a glass cover, on top and other suitable materials will be used as thermal shield on the sides, to retain the heat. Reflectors will be added to supplement the incoming solar radiation. To make this apparatus function continuously, we plan to attach a solar panel powered rechargeable battery to an auxiliary heater which would help distil the water during night time. The sediment accumulated as impurity can be removed by manual cleaning of the internal tank once a week /fortnight. This entire process of designing and fabrication of this apparatus will take about 7 8 months after which it will be put to rigorous testing for about 2 months, to validate our claims. This observation leads to the realization that these are two inconsistent claims. Yet Aquinas believes that these inconstancies can be reconciled. In Aquinas view an unjust law is not a law but yet is also able to be issued as law and imposed as law. It is imperative to understand Aquinas definition of just and unjust laws. Through defining these terms, we will be able to understand Aquinas claim. A law that is just has the power of binding in conscience (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20). It is derived from eternal law and therefore inherently morally correct. An unjust law lacks this integral quality. Aquinas is willing to say that an unjust law is a so called law, but a just law is a law proper in its entirety. A law is said to be just when it is ordained for the common good, does not exceed the power of the lawgiver and any burdens put on the subjects are done proportionally and equally and aim for the common good (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20). In comparison an unjust law can be contrary to the human good and additionally opposing to the divine good. A law can conflict with the human good in one of three ways; either through its end, author or its form. A lawmaker issues an unjust law according to its end when he imposes on his subjects burdensome laws, conducive not to the common good, but rather to his own cupidity or vainglory (Aquinas in Dimock, ed., 2002, p.20). Acquiring a product or service is not the only consideration of consumer behaviour but the various stages and processes before these offerings are bought. In this essay I will be analysing a television purchase I made from Argos using the consumer decision making process and concluding with a justification in the context on consumer decision making process. The consumer decision making process is a compound process, which involves six stages problem recognition, Information search, pre purchase evaluation of alternatives, purchase, consumption, post consumption evaluation and divestment. First Stage: Problem Recognition Problem recognition is the first stage in the consumer making process; it arises when there is an occurrence of a want or need. These needs could be simple, complicated or ambiguous depending on a consumer s needs, attitudes, expectations, and personality. Maslow s hierarchy of needs suggests that the basic needs such as food, sleep and shelter need to be satisfied before moving up the pyramid, however, in my case I prioritized my safety and esteem needs. Having moved into a new apartment of my own, I presumed the TV I had bought a year ago was out dated, small, and not sophisticated enough and later came to a conclusion to purchase another TV which suited my taste and preferences. The Effects Of Immune System On The Body Immunity MersihaFrlj Herzing University, Minneapolis MN The purpose of the immune system is to prevent and minimize infections; this is how the body protects us from microbes that would otherwise make us ill or kill us (Dugdale, 2013). The immune system works by differentiating between our own cells (self antigens), foreign cells (antigens), and pathogenic microbes (Dugdale, 2013). When our cells discover anything unfamiliar, our immune system works to destroy it(Dug dale, 2013). If the immune system cannot activate to kill foreign cells, we can get infections (Dugdale, 2013). Perhaps not surprisingly, Lady Montagu takes advantage of her literary pull and writes a satirical response, clearly offended by the misogynist message she assumed the poem to have. While Swift s poem gives a significant amount of evidence to justify Montagu s retort, there is perhaps a deeper amount of evidence that suggests she missed Swift s point. Each poem has a satiric closure at its end, but Swift s choice of words lean towards a position of commentary on misogynyrather than a position supporting it. In contrast, the last line of Montagu s poem pins Swift down as a staunch... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After their beauty has been brought to life from the dung in which they were planted in, women become gaudy tulips (). Understandably, one can see how Lady Montagu may have danced over this image with the stench lingering from the final word she read. Had she taken the time to analyze this phrase, she may not have been so harsh in her action. To begin, one must start with gaudy, simply because of its modern connotation to mean something is showy, or tasteless in its ornateness. In the context of this poem, this word did not have such a connotation, so as it appears to mean, simply, luxurious (Oxford English Dictionary). Keeping this is in mind as one looks at the context of the tulip at this time, it is clear that this simple comparison to a flower actually as much more meaning to it than at first glance. Just before swift s time the tulip caused a financial crisis because of how desired it was (Donatini). This being said, the tulip had not only visual beauty but historical extravagance. Knowing the background on both gaudy and tulip, it is easy to see that Lady Montagu failed to see the rich beauty Swift truly was emphasizing that is found within women, a beauty that is truly dependent upon, not despite, their dung like qualities. [This imagery paints an incredible picture of the idea that beauty can, and traditionally does, come from forth from unexpected places. This is true especially when one takes the image further in terms of the seed of the tulip having contained within it all the beauty it will possess when it becomes a full flower, thus needing the rich dung to encourage that beauty to blossom.] It is evident that Montagu missed all this image has to offer a woman judging by the harsh, though clever, final line in her poetic ... Plants that comprise the majority of the food we consume need photosynthesis in order to produce life sustaining energy. This energy is harnessed by the sun. If it were not for photosynthesis to capture and use this vital energy, life itself would be minimal or almost non existent. Photosynthesis entails a process that involves complex and fundamental actions that occur in plants, algae as well as some bacteria. They use sunlight to produce carbohydrates. Oxygen is then created from carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (Jackson, 2008). The carbohydrates created through photosynthesis enables growth and normal functioning for the plant to sustain life.
