Steps on How to Sketch
Drawing is an art, people could be talented on it, but not everyone is born with it. When
it comes to draw, people start to get nervous and could not draw well. Everyone wish to
produce a good drawing, but how? This question had been asked around for decades.
Some people could say that, he even can't draw a straight line, how could he draw a
good drawing. Actually, that’s not a problem, and it is why rulers were invention at the
first place. Just as the same reason that circle template were invented too. To draw a
good and attractive drawing, there are a few steps we need to take. The first one is to
CHOOSE THE RIGHT TOOLS, secondly IDEAS, and lastly START TO DRAW.
How can we choose the right tools for drawing? For different drawings, there are
different tools for it. The wrong tools for the wrong drawings would just destroy the
drawing. When the right tools is used , the drawing would look a lot better. For beginner,
the essential tools are, notepad, block paper, pencil, eraser, ruler. These tools can be
bought from any stationary shop. Pencils has different softness ( B ) and hardness ( H ).
The softer the pencil lead is , the darker the lead is, in the other hand, the harder the
pencil lead is, the lighter the lead is.
Where can we get ideas? We should look around and observe our surroundings.
Anything could inspire us, look deep down and think. Looking deep without thinking, is
useless. Wanted to draw a special and attractive building, we need to have own idea
that no one has. For example, a tree just look normal at any degree, we can just say it
as a tree, but if we look deep down to it, such as its skin, leaves, colour. We could learn
a lot. We must think why is it like that, and what is its function. From these, we may just
put it in our drawing or ideas of an attractive building.
After you've got everything done, it is time to draw. These are few kind of ways to
draw, we could just sit there and look at the object and draw from sunrise to sunset. Or
we can also take picture with a camera and draw it from the picture. For beginner , we
advise to take picture and draw from it, as it already had a frame and it is easier to
measure the scale of it.
When you start to draw, always begin drawings along the edges first. This will prevent
you from running out of space later on. It’s better to make little marks halfway along
each edge of my drawing. These marks will give you a smaller distances to measure
between when you’re staring at your blank paper trying to figure out where along the
edges you should begin. There is a great way to get correct perspective lines, that is
make sure that the two diagonal lines at the bottom of your drawing were correct.
Extend all original lines until they connected with each other. While you do this, you’ll
generally want to keep moving all around the paper so that whole drawing progresses
evenly.
Your drawing won’t work if you are looking at your paper more than your object. If your
eyes are always on your paper, you won’t ever be seeing what you’re supposed to be
drawing. So when you draw, flick your eyes back and forth and never let them rest for
too long in one place.
Once the line drawing is done, start filling in the darkest shadows first. Remember to
look for areas of reflected light on the shadow sides of objects. Almost everything
reflects light at least a little bit, and leaving those areas lighter will make your drawings
much more three-dimensional.

After you've got everything done, it is time to draw. These are few kind of ways to draw, we could just sit there and look at the object and draw from sunrise to sunset. For beginner , we advise to take picture and draw from it, as it already had a frame and it is easier to measure the scale of it. When you start to draw, always begin drawings along the edges first. These marks will give you a smaller distances to measure between when you’re staring at your blank paper trying to figure out where along the edges you should begin. There is a great way to get correct perspective lines, that is make sure that the two diagonal lines at the bottom of your drawing were correct. Extend all original lines until they connected with each other. While you do this, you’ll generally want to keep moving all around the paper so that whole drawing progresses evenly. Your drawing won’t work if you are looking at your paper more than your object. If your eyes are always on your paper, you won’t ever be seeing what you’re supposed to be drawing. So when you draw, flick your eyes back and forth and never let them rest for too long in one place. Once the line drawing is done, start filling in the darkest shadows first. Remember to look for areas of reflected light on the shadow sides of objects. Almost everything
  • 4. reflects light at least a little bit, and leaving those areas lighter will make your drawings much more three-dimensional.
