This document provides instructions for a final film critique paper with two stages. In stage one, students must analyze a film from the AFI top 10 list in 1500-1800 words. They must address the film's contextual information, story/plot, aesthetic choices, and social/personal impact. In stage two (300-600 words), students reflect on how their ability to analyze film has evolved throughout the course. The film critique requires integrating sources and applying formal film theories like auteur theory or genre theory.
