The eMysteries project offers a rich media mobile-device-supported interactive environment which can be utilized for educational purposes among upper secondary education students (15-18 year-olds) in order to enhance their literacy skills by actively engaging them in close reading activities. This is the 1st Newsletter of the project.

3. eMysteries Rationale
By the time young people in the EU leave
compulsory education most of them have regularly
made use of computers and the internet for a
variety of activities. While the most common
activities of young people using mobile phones
are writing through text messaging (“texting”) and
reading for information search and entertainment
purposes, the 2015 Programme for International
Student Assessment (PISA) results showed that
one in five pupils in the European Union have
insufficient proficiency in reading.
Mobile phones, tablets, and other connected
devices become more prevalent and affordable,
wireless technology can dramatically improve
learning and bring digital content to students. In
this regard, Upper Secondary School Teachers
working with students (15-18 year-olds) will have
the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and
skills in using digital devices and tools for
addressing literacy goals. Specifically, during the
eMysteries project teachers will have access to
interactive multimedia learning elements that will
allow them to promote the reading and writing
skills of upper secondary school students through
the development of detective mystery stories.
What eMysteries is about
eMysteries is a two-year Erasmus+ project
(October 2019 to September 2021) which aims to
harness the use of mobile devices so that they
can be utilized for educational purposes among
upper secondary education students (15-18 year-
olds) in order to enhance their literacy skills
through the use of mobile devices by being
actively engaged in close reading activities.

What eMysteries offers
The partners of the eMysteries project will work
towards the development of a number of high
quality intellectual outputs which are the
following:
 eMysteries Teacher’s Toolbox: the Toolbox
will include Modules on how to teach and write
detective stories using close reading activities.
 eMysteries mobile-device-supported
interactive environment: this will be a web-
based environment that will allow the creation
of detective stories.
 eMysteries Teacher Training MOOC: Upper
secondary school teachers and other
stakeholders will have the opportunity to
access a free MOOC on how to use the
eMysteries resources in the development of
educational content.
The training content and all outputs will be
available in the English language and it will also
be translated to the national languages of all
project partners which are German, Portuguese,
Greek, and Spanish.
1st Project Meeting in Madrid, Spain
The eMysteries project partners held their first
project meeting in Madrid, at JAITEK’s premises,
on the 14th-15th of November 2019. During the
meeting there was a thorough discussion about
the next steps of the project and how each
partner could use their expertise to better benefit
the outcomes of the project. The emphasis was
placed on the development of the first Output the
Teacher’s Toolbox for teaching and writing
detective mystery stories which is being
coordinated by IPCB.
What comes next
Project partners will actively engage Upper
Secondary School teachers through a number of
research activities in order to prepare the
Teacher’s Toolbox for writing and creating
detective stories. The Toolbox will include four
Modules and will be freely available online by the
end of March. Apart from the English language
the Toolbox will also be available in all partners’
languages. The Toolbox will serve as an Open
Educational Resource for teachers and other
possible stakeholders that would like to gain
further knowledge on the subject.

5. Por qué eMysteries
Cuando los jóvenes de la UE dejan la enseñanza
obligatoria, la mayoría ha utilizado regularmente
los ordenadores e Internet para diversas
actividades. A pesar de que las actividades más
comunes de las personas jóvenes que utilizan
móviles son la escritura a través de mensajes de
texto (“chatear”) y la lectura con fines de
búsqueda de información y entretenimiento, los
resultados del Programa para la Evaluación
Internacional de Estudiantes (PISA) de 2015
mostraron que uno de cada cinco alumnos de la
UE tiene un dominio insuficiente de la lectura. By

Los móviles, tablets y otros dispositivos son cada
vez más frecuentes y asequibles, la tecnología
inalámbrica puede mejorar drásticamente el
aprendizaje y llevar el contenido digital a los y las
estudiantes. En este contexto, el profesorado de
la escuela secundaria que trabajan con
estudiantes (de 15 a 18 años) tendrán la
oportunidad de mejorar sus conocimientos y
aptitudes para utilizar los dispositivos e
instrumentos digitales con el fin de alcanzar los
objetivos de alfabetización. Concretamente,
durante el Proyecto eMysteries el profesorado
tendrá acceso a elementos de aprendizaje
multimedia interactivos que les permitirán
promover las aptitudes de lectura y escritura de
sus estudiantes de secundaria mediante la
elaboración de historias detectivescas y de
misterio.
De qué va eMysteries
eMysteries es un Proyecto Erasmus+ de dos años
(octubre de 2019 a septiembre de 2021) cuyo
objetivo es aprovechar el uso de dispositivos
móviles para utilizarse con fines educativos en
estudiantes de secundaria (de 15 a 18 años) con
el fin de mejorar sus aptitudes de lectura y
escritura participando activamente en actividades
de lectura significativa.

Qué ofrece eMysteries
Los socios del proyecto eMysteries trabajarán en
el desarrollo de una serie de resultados
intelectuales de alta calidad que son:
 Toolbox para profesorado: Esta caja de
herramientas incluirá modules sobre cómo
enseñar y escribir historias detectivescas
utilizando actividades de lectura significativa.
 Entorno interactivo apoyado por un
dispositivo móvil: será un entorno basado en
la web que permitirá la creación de historias
detectivescas.
 Formación para profesorado MOOC: el
profesorado de secundaria y otras partes
interesadas tendrán la oportunidad de acceder
a un MOOC gratuito sobre cómo utilizar los
recursos de eMysteries en el desarrollo de
contenidos educativos.
El contenido formativo y todos los productos
estarán disponibles en inglés y se traducirán a
los idiomas de los socios: alemán, español,
portugués y griego.
1ª Reunión del proyecto en Madrid, España
Los socios del proyecto celebraron su primera
reunión en Madrid, en las instalaciones de
JAITEK, el 14 y 15 de noviembre de 2019.
Durante la reunión se debatió a fondo sobre los
próximos pasos del proyecto y la forma en que
cada uno de los asociados podría utilizar sus
conocimientos especializados para beneficiar
mejor los resultados del proyecto. Se hizo
hincapié en el desarrollo del primer IO sobre la
caja de herramientas para profesorado para la
enseñanza y escritura de historias de misterio
detectivescas, coordinado por IPBC.
Qué viene ahora
Los socios del Proyecto involucrarán
activamente al profesorado de secundaria a
través de una serie de actividades de
investigación con el fin de preparar la caja de
herramientas para escribir y crear historias
detectivescas. La caja de herramientas incluirá
cuatro módulos disponibles gratuitamente online
a finales de marzo. Además del inglés, también
estará disponible en los idiomas de los socios.
La caja de herramientas servirá como un
recurso educativo abierto para maestros y otras
partes interesadas que quieran adquirir más
conocimientos sobre el tema.

7. Fundamentação do Projeto eMysteries
Ao terminarem o ensino obrigatório, os jovens da
UE aprenderam a usar regularmente
computadores e a Internet para atividades
diversas. Apesar de a maior parte das atividades
mais comuns dos jovens ser usar os telemóveis
para escrever mensagens curtas e ler para
pesquisar informações com objetivos de lazer,
os resultados do Programa Internacional de
Avaliação de Alunos (PISA), de 2015, mostram
que um em cada cinco alunos na União
Europeia tem insuficiente proficiência na leitura.
Os telemóveis, tablets e outros dispositivos
conectáveis tornam-se mais predominantes e
acessíveis e a tecnologia wireless pode
aumentar exponencialmente a melhoria da
aprendizagem e proporcionar acesso a
conteúdos digitais pelos estudantes. Neste
sentido, os professores do ensino secundário
que trabalham com estudantes dos 15 aos 18
anos de idade terão oportunidade de melhorar o
seu conhecimento e competências dos jovens
no uso de dispositivos e ferramentas digitais
para atingir as metas de literacia. Ao longo do
desenvolvimento do projeto eMysteries, os
professores terão especificamente acesso a
elementos multimédia de aprendizagem
interativa que lhes permitirão promover a leitura
e competências de escrita nos estudantes do
ensino secundário através da criação de
histórias policiais de mistério.
O que é eMysteries
eMysteries é um Projeto Erasmus+ de dois anos
(outubro 2019 a setembro 2021) que visa tirar
proveito do uso de dispositivos móveis para
atividades com objetivos educativos entre os
estudantes do ensino secundário (15 – 18 anos
de idade) tendo em vista melhorar as suas
competências de literacia através do uso de
dispositivos móveis, sendo ativamente
envolvidos em atividades de leitura atenta.

inglesa e também serão traduzidos para as
línguas nacionais de todos os parceiros do
projeto, que são o alemão, o português, o
grego e o espanhol.
1.ª Reunião do Projeto em Madrid,
Espanha
Os parceiros do projeto eMysteries realizaram
uma primeira reunião do projeto em Madrid,
nas instalações da JAITEK, em 14 e 15 de
novembro de 2019. Durante a reunião teve
lugar um debate aprofundado sobre as etapas
de desenvolvimento do projeto e como cada
parceiro poderia usar a sua experiência para
enriquecer os resultados do projeto.
A ênfase foi posta no primeiro resultado
esperado, o Guia para Professores sobre como
ensinar e escrever histórias policiais de mistério,
coordenado pelo Instituto Politécnico de Castelo
Branco (IPCB) em Portugal.
A seguir
Os parceiros do projeto irão envolver de forma
ativa professores do ensino secundário através
de várias atividades de pesquisa tendo em vista
a preparação do Guia para Professores sobre
escrita criativa de histórias policiais de mistério.
O Guia servirá como um Recurso Educacional
Aberto para professores e outros possíveis
interessados que queiram obter mais informação
sobre o assunto.

9. eMysteries - Hintergrund
Bis zum Ende der Schulpflicht haben die meisten
jungen Menschen in der EU regelmäßig Computer
und Internet für eine Vielzahl von Aktivitäten
genutzt. Während die häufigsten Aktivitäten junger
Menschen, die Mobiltelefone benutzen, das
Schreiben von Textnachrichten ("texting") und das
Lesen für die Informationssuche und zu
Unterhaltungszwecken sind, zeigten die
Ergebnisse der PISA-Studie 2015, dass einer von
fünf Schülern in der Europäischen Union nicht
über ausreichende Lesekenntnisse verfügt.
Mobiltelefone, Tablets und andere
angeschlossene Geräte sind sehr verbreitet und
werden immer erschwinglicher. Die
Mobilfunktechnologie kann das Lernen aktiv
verbessern und Schülern digitale Inhalte
vermitteln. In diesem Zusammenhang bekommen
Lehrer der Oberstufe, die mit Schülern (15-18
Jahre) arbeiten, die Gelegenheit, ihre Kenntnisse
und Fähigkeiten im Umgang mit digitalen Geräten
und Werkzeugen zur Erreichung von
Alphabetisierungszielen zu verbessern.
Insbesondere werden die Lehrer während des
eMysteries-Projekts Zugang zu interaktiven
multimedialen Lernelementen haben, die es ihnen
ermöglichen, die Lese- und Schreibfähigkeiten
von Schülern der Sekundarstufe II durch die
Entwicklung von Detektivgeschichten zu fördern.
eMysteries - Worum geht es?
eMysteries ist ein 2jähriges Erasmus+ Projekt
(Oktober 2019 bis September 2021). Das Ziel ist
es, bei Schülerinnen und Schülern die Lese- und
Schreibfähigkeiten durch den Einsatz digitaler
Medien zu verbessern.

Detektivgeschichten, die Schülerinnen und Schüler durch Nutzung digitaler Medien
zum intensiven Lesen anregen
eMysteries – was bietet es?
Die Partner des Projektes eMysteries werden
folgende hochwertigen Materialien entwickeln:
 eMysteries - Lehrer Toolbox: Die Toolbox
wird Module zum Erlernen und Schreiben von
Detektivgeschichten unter Verwendung von
Übungen zum genauen Lesen enthalten.
 eMysteries - Mobile gerätegestützte
interaktive Umgebung: Dies wird eine
webbasierte Umgebung sein, die die Erstellung
von Detektivgeschichten ermöglicht.
 eMysteries - Training für Lehrer/innen in
MOOC (Ein umfassender offener Online-Kurs):
Lehrer/innen der Sekundarstufe II und andere
Beteiligte erhalten die Möglichkeit, ein
kostenloses MOOC-Training zur Nutzung der
eMysteries-Ressourcen bei der Entwicklung
von Bildungsinhalten durchzuführen.
Die Materialien und alle Ergebnisse werden in
englischer Sprache zur Verfügung stehen und
auch in die Landessprachen aller Projektpartner
- Deutsch, Portugiesisch, Griechisch und
Spanisch - übersetzt werden.
1 Projektmeeting in Madrid, Spanien
Das Projekttreffen fand am 14./15. November
2019 in den Räumlichkeiten von JAITEK in
Madrid statt. Während des Treffens fand eine
intensive Diskussion über die nächsten Schritte
des Projekts statt und darüber, wie jeder Partner
sein Fachwissen nutzen kann, um die
Ergebnisse des Projekts bestmöglich zu
gestalten. Der Schwerpunkt wurde auf die
Entwicklung des ersten Outputs gelegt, der vom
IPCB koordiniert wird - die Lehrer Toolbox für
das Vermitteln und Schreiben von
Detektivgeschichten.
Was kommt als nächstes?
Die Projektpartner werden Lehrer der Oberstufe
durch eine Reihe von Aktivitäten aktiv in die
Entwicklung der Lehrer-Toolbox für das
Schreiben und Erstellen von Detektivgeschichten
einbeziehen. Die Toolbox wird vier Module
umfassen und bis Ende März frei online
verfügbar sein. Neben der englischen Sprache
wird die Toolbox auch in den Sprachen aller
Partner verfügbar sein. Die Toolbox wird als
offene pädagogische Ressource für LehrerInnen
und weitere potentielle InteressenvertreterInnen
zur Verfügung stehen, die zusätzliches Wissen
zu diesem Thema erwerben möchten.

11. Η φιλοσοφία του έργου eMysteries
Με την ολοκλήρωση της υποχρεωτικής
εκπαίδευσης, οι περισσότεροι από τους νέους
στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, έχουνε χρησιμοποιήσει
τους υπολογιστές και το Διαδίκτυο για διάφορες
δραστηριότητες. Ενώ οι συνηθέστερες ενέργειες
των νέων που χρησιμοποιούν κινητά τηλέφωνα
είναι η γραφή γραπτών μηνυμάτων και το
διάβασμα για αναζήτηση πληροφοριών και
σκοπούς ψυχαγωγίας, τα αποτελέσματα της
έρευνας PISA 2015 δείχνουν ότι ένας στους πέντε
μαθητές στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση έχει ανεπαρκή
ικανότητα στην ανάγνωση. Τα κινητά τηλέφωνα,
οι φορητές συσκευές τύπου tablet και άλλες
συσκευές που συνδέονται με το Διαδίκτυο
καθίστανται ολοένα και πιο διαδεδομένες και
προσιτές στους νέους. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο η
ασύρματη τεχνολογία μπορεί να βελτιώσει
σημαντικά τη μάθηση και να φέρει τους μαθητές
σε επαφή με ψηφιακό περιεχόμενο. Κατά τη
διάρκεια του έργου eMysteries, οι εκπαιδευτικοί
της Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης, που εργάζονται
με μαθητές 15-18 ετών, θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να
ενισχύσουν τις γνώσεις και τις δεξιότητές τους στη
χρήση ψηφιακών εργαλείων για την επίτευξη των
στόχων γραμματισμού. Συγκεκριμένα, κατά τη
διάρκεια του έργου οι εκπαιδευτικοί θα έχουν
πρόσβαση σε πολυμέσα που θα τους επιτρέψουν
να ενισχύσουν τις δεξιότητες ανάγνωσης και
γραφής των μαθητών μέσω της ανάπτυξης
ιστοριών μυστηρίου ντετέκτιβ.
Σχετικά με το έργο eMysteries
Το eMysteries είναι ένα διετές έργο (Οκτώβριος
2019 - Σεπτέμβριος 2021) που χρηματοδοτείται
από το ταμείο Erasmus+ της Ευρωπαϊκής
Ένωσης και στοχεύει στην αξιοποίηση της χρήσης
των κινητών συσκευών, ώστε να μπορούν να
χρησιμοποιηθούν για εκπαιδευτικούς σκοπούς σε
μαθητές της Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης (15-18
ετών) προκειμένου να ενισχύσουν τις δεξιότητες
γραμματισμού συμμετέχοντας ενεργά σε
δραστηριότητες ανάγνωσης.

Τι προσφέρει το έργο eMysteries
Οι εταίροι του έργου eMysteries θα εργαστούν
προς τη δημιουργία μίας σειράς παραδοτέων
υψηλής ποιότητας που είναι τα εξής:
 eMysteries Εγχειρίδιο του Εκπαιδευτικού:
το εγχειρίδιο θα περιλαμβάνει Ενότητες που θα
αφορούν τη διδασκαλία και τη συγγραφή
ιστοριών ντετέκτιβ.
 eMysteries αλληλεπιδραστικό ηλεκτρονικό
περιβάλλον που υποστηρίζεται από κινητές
συσκευές: θα επιτρέπει τη δημιουργία ιστοριών
ντετέκτιβ.
 eMysteries MOOC για την εκπαίδευση των
εκπαιδευτικών: εκπαιδευτικοί της
Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης και άλλοι
ενδιαφερόμενοι θα έχουνε την ευκαιρία να
αποκτήσουν δωρεάν πρόσβαση σε ένα MOOC
που θα αφορά τον τρόπο που μπορούν να
χρησιμοποιηθούν οι πόροι του έργου eMysteries
για την ανάπτυξη εκπαιδευτικού περιεχομένου.
Όλα τα παραδοτέα θα είναι διαθέσιμα στην
αγγλική γλώσσα, ενώ παράλληλα θα
μεταφραστούν και σε όλες τις γλώσσες των
εταίρων του έργου: Γερμανικά, Πορτογαλικά,
Ελληνικά, και Ισπανικά.
1η Διακρατική συνάντηση στη Μαδρίτη,
Ισπανία
Οι εταίροι του έργου eMysteries συναντήθηκαν
για πρώτη φορά στη Μαδρίτη, στον οργανισμό
JAITEK, στις 14 και 15 του Νοέμβρη του 2019.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της συνάντησης έλαβε χώρα
εκτενής συζήτηση για τα επόμενα βήματα του
έργου και για το πώς ο κάθε εταίρος θα
χρησιμοποιήσει τον τομέα εξειδίκευσής του,
προκειμένου να βελτιστοποιήσει τα
αποτελέσματα του έργου. Η μεγαλύτερη έμφαση
δόθηκε στην ανάπτυξη του πρώτου παραδοτέου,
το Εγχειρίδιο του Εκπαιδευτικού για τη
διδασκαλία και τη συγγραφή ιστοριών ντετέκτιβ,
τη δημιουργία του οποίου συντονίζει ο
οργανισμός IPCB.
Επόμενα βήματα
Οι εταίροι του έργου θα εμπλέξουν ενεργά
εκπαιδευτικούς της Δευτεροβάθμιας
Εκπαίδευσης μέσω μίας σειράς ερευνητικών
δραστηριοτήτων προκειμένου να προετοιμάσουν
το Εγχειρίδιο του Εκπαιδευτικού για τη
διδασκαλία και τη συγγραφή ιστοριών ντετέκτιβ.
Το Εγχειρίδιο θα περιλαμβάνει τέσσερις ενότητες
και θα είναι ελεύθερα διαθέσιμο στην ιστοσελίδα
του έργου μέχρι τα τέλη Μαρτίου 2020. Εκτός
από την αγγλική γλώσσα, το Εγχειρίδιο θα είναι
διαθέσιμο σε όλες τις γλώσσες των εταίρων του
έργου. Το Εγχειρίδιο θα χρησιμεύσει ως ανοικτός
εκπαιδευτικός πόρος για τους εκπαιδευτικούς και
