Labor- management relation school is the
sector of defining the relationship nature of
the labor force & management, their bilateral
right & responsibility against each other, &
maintaining on basis of equality.
What Is an Employer-Employee Relationship?
• employers and employees often work in close
quarters, they necessarily develop relationships.
Managing these relationships is vital to business
success, as strong relationships can lead to greater
employee happiness and even increased
productivity.
Relationship Basics
The degree of closeness in these relationships will depend on both the
employer and the employee.
Mutual Reliance
The employer is relying upon the employee to perform her job and,
in doing so, keep the business running smoothly.
Relationship Building
The employer and employee relationship is one that must develop
over time.
Boundaries
In employee and employer relationship boundaries should exist at
almost all companies.

The rights of the employees
• The nature and amount of the labour which the employee carries out
should be fixed with a contract.
• The state has responsibility to provide social security in case of old age
or unemployment.
• The employee can demand that the conditions of the workplace should
be healthy.
• The employee has the right to paid holiday and leave.
• The state and the employer have to compensate employees for the
damages of injuries.
The responsibilities of the employees
 The employee should continue the work in person.
 The employee cannot avoid working.
 The employees are responsible for taking care of the
properties and equipment of their employer.
 The employee should do his work in the best way
possible.
Collective Problem Solving
♦ It is the duty of the HR to find ways of resolving issues between employees on one
hand and employees and Management on the other.
♦ It is at this time that HR should use the "grape vine channel" to its advantage and
call officers to a round table for reconciliation and if it is between workers and
Management should ways of brokering peace.
♦ HR specialists are also involved in issues which are considerably legislated and
touch on home life and health as well as more familiar workplace topics such as
discipline and conflict.

Islamic Labor Rights Related to Employer-Employee Relationship
• The first discourse is what should be the relationship between the employer
and employee?
• The Prophet (sm) infused justice, love, and dignity in all those around him.
• As an employee, he worked as a shepherd in his early years and then went
onto become a successful businessman.
• As an employer, he used to sit on the floor and eat with his servant boy.
Islamic Labor Rights Related to Compensation
• In Islam, appropriate compensation must be given to
the work done.
• It is very un-Islamic for a person to work another
human being and at the end pay him little or no
wage.
Islamic Labor Rights Related to Having the Right to Rest
• Workers should not be overburdened and
overwhelmed with work. They have the right to
have both physical and mental rest. They are also to
be given time to offer their prayers.
• At the same time, workers should have time for
themselves and their families.

Counseling Functions
• Advice: Counselors often give advices in order to guide them toward
desired courses of action.
• Reassurance: The counseling experience often provides confidence
that they are following a suitable course of action.
• Communication: Counseling is a communication experience. It
initiates upward communication to management.
• Release of emotional tension: People tend to get emotional release
when they have an opportunity to discuss their problems with
someone else.
• Clarified thinking: Serious discussion of problems helps a person to
think more clearly.
• Reorientation: Reorientation involves a change in an employee’s
basic self through a change in goals and values.

Dismissal without just cause or reasonable notice
of termination.

Requirements in Dismissing an Incompetent Employee
• Have a reasonable and objective performance standard.
• Document employee’s performance indicating that he or she has
failed to meet the standards.
• Have evidence of warnings given to the employee.
• Show that appropriate training, support, time, and feedback have
been provided to the employee
• Demonstrate that the employee concerned had reasonable time to
improve performance.

1. Employee is required to do his job in best possible manner
2. Employee should be loyal to employer.
3. Employee needs to fulfill obligations to his employer.
4. Employee must not neglect his work.
5. Employee needs to maintain work place safe, clean and
hygienic.
6. Employee should take up his job in the spirit of worship
for the satisfaction of Allah.
Arbitration
• Allah All-knower” know that in spite of everything is
clear about the obligations of employer and
employee, human error might occur. In this
situation people sometime fails to resolve dispute
among themselves. For this situation “Allah” made
system of Arbitration.
Findings
• Islam is the best way to maintain a balanced
relationship between the labor & management.
• The rise of industrial age and capitalism leads to
conflicting situation.
• The relationship must be on maintaining bilateral trust.
• Islamic law provides the ground for business successes.
• World’s success & the success in the next life.
• The structure & procedure of labor- management
relation should be clear, so the jobs rights &
responsibilities.
Recommendations
• Strengthening bilateral discussion for solving
problems quickly and effectively.
• Multiplicity of authority creates rivalry in an
organization.
• Political involvement must be reduced.
• Management must help and guide employees to
settle industrial clashes and crisis.
• If the demands of employees are reasonable and
real then it should be worked out.
Conclusion
• The capitalist countries have exploited the labour of the
workers to a great extent for their own development. They
have exploited first the slaves, then the workers and used
the labour as a financial tool to increase their wealth. Islam
has established the balance of individual-society-state and
prioritized the security and livelihood of its communities
with the principle of social justice.
Allah Said:
“ You are the great nation. You are created for the welfare
of mankind. You order people to do the right and stop
wrong doing”
(Quran “ Surah 3, Verse 110)

  • 4. Working definition Labor- management relation school is the sector of defining the relationship nature of the labor force & management, their bilateral right & responsibility against each other, & maintaining on basis of equality.
  • 5. What Is an Employer-Employee Relationship? • employers and employees often work in close quarters, they necessarily develop relationships. Managing these relationships is vital to business success, as strong relationships can lead to greater employee happiness and even increased productivity.
  • 6. Relationship Basics The degree of closeness in these relationships will depend on both the employer and the employee. Mutual Reliance The employer is relying upon the employee to perform her job and, in doing so, keep the business running smoothly. Relationship Building The employer and employee relationship is one that must develop over time. Boundaries In employee and employer relationship boundaries should exist at almost all companies.

The rights of the employees • The nature and amount of the labour which the employee carries out should be fixed with a contract. • The state has responsibility to provide social security in case of old age or unemployment. • The employee can demand that the conditions of the workplace should be healthy. • The employee has the right to paid holiday and leave. • The state and the employer have to compensate employees for the damages of injuries.
  • 10. The responsibilities of the employees  The employee should continue the work in person.  The employee cannot avoid working.  The employees are responsible for taking care of the properties and equipment of their employer.  The employee should do his work in the best way possible.

Collective Problem Solving ♦ It is the duty of the HR to find ways of resolving issues between employees on one hand and employees and Management on the other. ♦ It is at this time that HR should use the "grape vine channel" to its advantage and call officers to a round table for reconciliation and if it is between workers and Management should ways of brokering peace. ♦ HR specialists are also involved in issues which are considerably legislated and touch on home life and health as well as more familiar workplace topics such as discipline and conflict.

Islamic Labor Rights Related to Employer-Employee Relationship • The first discourse is what should be the relationship between the employer and employee? • The Prophet (sm) infused justice, love, and dignity in all those around him. • As an employee, he worked as a shepherd in his early years and then went onto become a successful businessman. • As an employer, he used to sit on the floor and eat with his servant boy.
  • 16. Islamic Labor Rights Related to Compensation • In Islam, appropriate compensation must be given to the work done. • It is very un-Islamic for a person to work another human being and at the end pay him little or no wage.
  • 17. Islamic Labor Rights Related to Having the Right to Rest • Workers should not be overburdened and overwhelmed with work. They have the right to have both physical and mental rest. They are also to be given time to offer their prayers. • At the same time, workers should have time for themselves and their families.
  • 18. 18 Counseling Functions • Advice: Counselors often give advices in order to guide them toward desired courses of action. • Reassurance: The counseling experience often provides confidence that they are following a suitable course of action. • Communication: Counseling is a communication experience. It initiates upward communication to management. • Release of emotional tension: People tend to get emotional release when they have an opportunity to discuss their problems with someone else. • Clarified thinking: Serious discussion of problems helps a person to think more clearly. • Reorientation: Reorientation involves a change in an employee’s basic self through a change in goals and values.
  • 19. 19 Wrongful Dismissal Dismissal without just cause or reasonable notice of termination.
  • 20. 20 Requirements in Dismissing an Incompetent Employee • Have a reasonable and objective performance standard. • Document employee’s performance indicating that he or she has failed to meet the standards. • Have evidence of warnings given to the employee. • Show that appropriate training, support, time, and feedback have been provided to the employee • Demonstrate that the employee concerned had reasonable time to improve performance.

  • 23. Common rules and regulations for both employer and employee 1) Justice and fair dealing 2) Employment contract 3) Consultation 4) Security 5) Honesty
  • 24. Specific rules and regulation for employer 1. Give wages of employee at agreed time 2. Wages should be in right amount 3. Work load 4. Work place 5. Make the work easy 6. Behavior 7. Employee’s welfare 8. Respect, dignity and kindness to the employee
  • 25. Specific rules and regulation for employee 1. Employee is required to do his job in best possible manner 2. Employee should be loyal to employer. 3. Employee needs to fulfill obligations to his employer. 4. Employee must not neglect his work. 5. Employee needs to maintain work place safe, clean and hygienic. 6. Employee should take up his job in the spirit of worship for the satisfaction of Allah.
  • 26. Arbitration • Allah All-knower” know that in spite of everything is clear about the obligations of employer and employee, human error might occur. In this situation people sometime fails to resolve dispute among themselves. For this situation “Allah” made system of Arbitration.
  • 27. Findings • Islam is the best way to maintain a balanced relationship between the labor & management. • The rise of industrial age and capitalism leads to conflicting situation. • The relationship must be on maintaining bilateral trust. • Islamic law provides the ground for business successes. • World’s success & the success in the next life. • The structure & procedure of labor- management relation should be clear, so the jobs rights & responsibilities.
  • 28. Recommendations • Strengthening bilateral discussion for solving problems quickly and effectively. • Multiplicity of authority creates rivalry in an organization. • Political involvement must be reduced. • Management must help and guide employees to settle industrial clashes and crisis. • If the demands of employees are reasonable and real then it should be worked out.
  • 29. Conclusion • The capitalist countries have exploited the labour of the workers to a great extent for their own development. They have exploited first the slaves, then the workers and used the labour as a financial tool to increase their wealth. Islam has established the balance of individual-society-state and prioritized the security and livelihood of its communities with the principle of social justice. Allah Said: “ You are the great nation. You are created for the welfare of mankind. You order people to do the right and stop wrong doing” (Quran “ Surah 3, Verse 110)
