1. Southeast Woodland Native America My region is located in the states of Tennessee , Georgia ,Alabama ,Mississippi,North Carolina ,South Carolina ,and Florida are in this region . Some of the large groups that live in the northern part of the region are the Chickasaw,the Creek,and the Cherokee. Some tribes in the southern region are Natchez, Biloxi, and the Seminole . The ancestors of the people in this region are called mound builders .They call them that because they would build huge mounds and use them for a temples and burial sites .

3. Tribes like the Cherokee and Creek lived farther north so it is colder . They needed to have more shelter in the winter . Each village had a circular -shaped council house were ceremonies and tribal meetings were . It was built with clay walls and a cone shaped bark roof .rectangular houses were built in clusters of four around the council house . They were built of mud .

7. When it got colder especially in the northern part of the region they made everything from deer skin like pants,shirts ,and moccasins . Moccasins are shoes made from animal skin .
8. Women wore dresses ,leggings and moccasins .sometimes the clothes were beaded in pretty colors .When Seminole women were given a sewing machine in the early 1900s they started making beautiful match work .
