This two-day course helps ITIL Foundation certificate holders from previous versions transition to ITIL version 3. The course reviews the changes between versions 2 and 3, including new concepts, processes, functions and models. Students will receive credit towards ITIL Expert certification for their existing certification, and can earn additional credit by passing the ITIL Foundation bridging exam, a 30-minute multiple choice test. The course prepares students to progress to ITIL version 3 management or capability stream courses and exams. Prerequisites include providing documentation of a prior ITIL Foundation certificate.

Course Description
The ITIL Qualification Board has approved the use of existing ITIL version 1 and version 2
certifications for prerequisite exemption and credit use within the version 3 qualification scheme.
The bridging options exist to recognise the existing investment in ITIL certifications and eliminate the
need to re-certify under the new scheme. The bridging options recognise the elements of ITIL version
2 which continue forward in version 3 and the certifications achieved prior to the release of the version
3 scheme.
Students will be awarded credit points for their existing ITIL certifications along with additional points
gained for passing the relevant bridging exam. The target total of 22 points to gain the ITIL Expert in
IT Service Management Certificate remains the same.
Credit points do not expire, and once gained can be used at a future date and will be applied in
accordance with the rules of the qualification scheme in use at that time.
This two-day course is designed to help those delegates having already invested in their ITIL
education and who currently hold the previous versions of the ITIL Foundation Certificate to progress
within the new ITIL version 3 examination structure.
The course will lead delegates through the changes and expansion of the concepts, processes,
functions and models found in ITIL version 3 allowing them to progress seamlessly to any of the new
Management or Capability Stream courses and exams.
Target Student: This course is aimed at existing holders of the ITIL Foundation Certificate from
earlier ITIL versions who want to quickly gain a good overview of the new content of ITIL version 3
and achieve the ITIL Foundation Bridging Certificate in IT Service Management.
Prerequisites: On attending the course please ensure you provide documented evidence that you
have passed previous versions of the ITIL Foundation Certificate, by either presenting your certificate
(or a copy of your certificate) to the course lecturer. If you cannot provide the physical certificate, then
as a minimum you must provide the certificate number. If the exam board was not ISEB, you must
also provide the name of the examination board who issued the certificate. Failure to this will result in
you exam results being withheld by the exam accreditation body until proof of accreditation has been
provided. If you have lost your certificate or you do not have a record of your certificate number

2. recommend that delegates familiarise themselves with the content of the five core publications
describing the ITIL Version 3 Service Lifecycle.

hands-on activities.

Examinations
Course includes 30-minute, multiple-choice examination. The exam is multi-choice. There are 20
questions to be completed in 30 minutes. The pass mark is 14 correct answers from 20 (65_CS_)
