There are two main types of electricity: static electricity and current electricity. Static electricity involves electrons building up on objects and is produced through friction, while current electricity involves a flow of negative charges along a conductive path like a wire. An electric circuit requires a complete loop or path for current to flow from a power source through a switch and to a device, and includes four main parts: a source, path, switch, and a device to use the electricity. Circuits can be either in parallel with multiple paths or in series with just one single path.
