The Changing Educational Paradigm
The Changing Educational Paradigm

Public Education was derived from the Enlightenment and Industrial Revolution.
Education was based on a ‘production line’ model.
                           ‘Book Based’ Paradigm
The Changing Educational Paradigm

Schools are collaborative and engaging environments.
The immersion of the internet has altered the educational landscape.

Vision and Direction
The internet is no longer just a place to ‘research’.

E-learning is about the infusion of technology and the
internet to SUPPORT and ENHANCE learning.

E-learning enables our children to collaborate, create,
inquire, explore and generate new learning.

Collaboration and sharing learning on the internet
                  allows for authentic audiences.

We aim for our children to be a part of this environment to broaden
their learning experience - to provide greater motivation, engagement
                      and richness with learning.

               E-learning and Pedagogy (Pg 36)
- e-learning has considerable potential to support the teaching approaches.
- e-learning may facilitate shared learning by enabling students to join or
create communities of learners that extend well beyond the classroom.
- e-learning may enhance opportunities to learn by offering students virtual
experiences and tools that save them time, allowing them to take their
learning further.

Schools should explore not only how ICT can supplement traditional ways
of teaching but also how it can open up new and different ways of
learning.

Literacy and Numeracy are still key priority areas

it’s the how technology can be utilised to support and
                     enhance these areas.
