Ancient Egyptians had an elaborate afterlife belief system:
1) They mummified bodies and included spells from the Book of the Dead to help the soul of the deceased navigate the underworld and afterlife.
2) Egyptians believed the soul consisted of multiple parts that needed to be reunited after death for immortality.
3) In the afterlife, the soul was judged by Osiris and other gods to determine if it could live eternally or would face destruction.
