This document summarizes the effects of different Rugby wheelchair designs on output velocity and acceleration. It describes considerations for the wheelchair design including being ultra-light, strong, durable and customized for each user. Experimental methods tested different seat height, camber angle, and balance point configurations using a 14m sprint test. The results showed higher velocities were achieved with higher seat heights and more forward balance points, while lower accelerations occurred with rearward balance points. Camber angle had no significant effect. The conclusions recommend configurations of lower camber angle, higher seat height and more forward balance point for this athlete.
