The educational system in Poland has three main stages. Children attend kindergarten from ages 3-6, followed by elementary school which is divided into two three-year stages from ages 6-13. Middle school is for students ages 13-16 where they learn general subjects. Secondary school can be three or four years and includes vocational and technical schools. Schools use a 1-6 grading scale for assessments and have six levels for classifying student behavior.
