other educators.
Teachers can post
classroom news,
assignments, and other
related information for
students and parents.
Students can also share
information and
collaborate on
assignments.
Edmodo
• Edmodo is an educational tool that
combines the look and concept of
Facebook to education. Edmodo
enables teachers to perform a
variety of academic tasks which
include posting assignments,
creating polls for student responses,
embedding video clips, create
learning groups, post a quiz for
students to take, and create a
calendar of events and assignments.
Students can also turn in
assignments or upload assignments
for their teachers to view and grade.
Teachers can annotate the
assignments directly in Edmodo to
provide instant feedback.
Dropbox
• Dropbox is free software
that provides online storage
space to backup, share,
sync, and save your most
important files. Dropbox
allows users to access their
most important photos,
documents, and videos
whenever and where ever
needed, back up important
data online, synchronize
files with devices, and easily
share these files with
others.
Google Docs
• Google Docs enables
users to be able to create,
share, and collaborate on
the web with documents,
spreadsheets,
presentations, and other
forms of digital media.
Google Docs is a platform
where students can
collaborate on
educational endeavors
both in the classroom and
independently.
Funbrain
• Funbrain is a website that
hosts educational games for
students in grades
Kindergarten through 8th
grade. These games are fun
and interactive. Teachers
can use these games as a
center activity, as whole
class practice by projecting
it onto a Smartboard, or
independent student
practice. Funbrain is a great
site to utilize to help
reinforce basic skills in
reading and math.
Khan Academy
• Khan Academy provides
educational videos
(micro lectures) on a
variety of educational
topics. These
instructional videos
provide a mini lesson on
over 4,500 educational
topics in all academic
areas of instruction.
