For the agriculture sector, detecting and identifying plant diseases at an early stage is extremely important and
still very challenging. Machine learning is an application of AI that helps us achieve this purpose effectively. It
uses a group of algorithms to analyze and interpret data, learn from it, and using it, smart decisions can be
made. For accomplishing this project, a dataset that contains a set of healthy & diseased plant leaf images are
used then using image processing we extract the features of the image. Then we model this dataset with
different machine learning algorithms like Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Naïve Bayes etc. The aim is
to hold out a comparative study to spot which of those algorithm can predict diseases with the at most
accuracy. We compare factors like precision, accuracy, error rates as well as prediction time of different
machine learning algorithms. After all these comparison, valuable conclusions can be made for this project.
Due to diagnosis problem in detecting lung Cancer, it becomes the most dangerous cancer seen in human being. Because of early diagnosis, the survival rate among people is increased. The prediction of lung cancer is the most challenging cancer problem, due to its structure of cells in human body. In which most of tissues or cells are overlapping on one another. Now-a-days, the use of images processing techniques is increased in growing medical field for its disease diagnosis, where the time factor plays important role. Detecting cancer within a time, increases the survival rate of patients. Many radiologists still use MRI only for assessment of superior sulcus tumors and in cases where invasion of spinal cord canal is suspected. MRI can detect and stage lung cancer and this method would be excellent of lung malignancies and other diseases.

social species directly & indirectly dependent on Plants.
Plants play an enormous role in human life by providing
them food for living, wood for houses and other resources
to live life. So, human should take care of plants and
agricultural crops. But apart from the human, various
natural factors are there that are responsible for
destroying the growth of plants like unavailability of
accurate plant resources, deficiency of sunlight, weather
conditions, lack of expert knowledge for the accurate use
of pesticides. The major factor responsible for this
destruction of plant growth is diseases. Early detection
and accurate identification of diseases can control the
spread of infection. In the earlier days, it was not easy to
identify the plant diseases but with the advancements of
digital technology, it becomes easy to identify plant disease
with image processing techniques. In this paper, an
exploration is made on the exiting approaches of plant leaf
disease detection using image processing approach. Also a
discussion is made on the major disease types like fungal,
bacterial and viral diseases. Different authors have
presented the different approaches for the identification of
leaf diseases for the different plant types.
Plant disease detection and classification using deep learning JAVAID AHMAD WANI
Diseases in plants cause major production and economic losses as well as a reduction in both the quality and quantity of agricultural products. In India, 70% of the population depends on agriculture and contributes 17% towards the GDP of the country. Now a day’s plant disease detection has received increasing attention in monitoring large fields of crops. Farmers experience great difficulties in switching from one disease control policy to another. The naked eye observation of experts is the traditional approach adopted in practice for the detection and identification of plant diseases.
Crop diseases are a major threat to food security, but their rapid identification remains difficult in many parts of the world due to a lack of the necessary infrastructure. The combination of increasing global smartphone penetration and the recent advancement, in computer vision made possible by deep learning, and transfer learning has paved the way for smart systems to diagnose diseases at initial stages, as soon as they appear in plant leaves.
Therefore, a convolutional neural network is created and developed to perform plant disease detection and classification using leaf images of healthy and diseased of 18 crops. Recent developments in deep neural networks have allowed researchers to drastically improve the accuracy of object detection and recognition systems. Deep Learning (DL) is the fastest growing and a broader part of the machine learning family. Deep learning uses convolutional neural networks for image classification as it gives the most accurate results in solving real-world problems.
Creating and training a CNN model from scratch is a tedious process when compared to the usage of existing deep learning models for various applications to achieve maximum accuracy. So depending on the application various models can be used or retrained. In this project, we have implemented VGG16 and VGG19 architecture for the leaf diseases of 18 crops and compare their accuracy, VGG16 have shown slightly good accuracy as compared to that of VGG19, using “New Plant Disease Dataset” to train and validate both the models, which contains 87k images of 38 different plant leaf diseases.

A New Technique of Extraction of Edge Detection Using Digital Image Processing IJMER
Digital image Processing is one of the basic and important tool in the image processing and
computer vision. In this paper we discuss about the extraction of a digital image edge using different
digital image processing techniques. Edge detection is the most common technique for detecting
discontinuities in intensity values. The input image or actual image have some noise that may cause the
of quality of the digital image. Firstly, wavelet transform is used to remove noises from the image
collected. Secondly, some edge detection operators such as Differential edge detection, Log edge
detection, canny edge detection and Binary morphology are analyzed. And then according to the
simulation results, the advantages and disadvantages of these edge detection operators are compared. It
is shown that the Binary morphology operator can obtain better edge feature. Finally, in order to gain
clear and integral image profile, the method of ordering closed is given. After experimentation, edge
detection method proposed in this paper is feasible.

Binary operation based hard exudate detection and fuzzy based classification ...IJECEIAES
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most considerable reasons for visual impairment. The main objective of this paper is to automatically detect and recognize DR lesions like hard exudates, as it helps in diagnosing and screening of the disease. Here, binary operation based image processing for detecting lesions and fuzzy logic based extraction of hard exudates on diabetic retinal images are discused. In the initial stage, the binary operations are used to identify the exudates. Similarly, the RGB channel space of the DR image is used to create fuzzy sets and membership functions for extracting the exudates. The membership directives obtained from the fuzzy rule set are used to detect the grade of exudates. In order to evaluate the proposed approach, experiment tests are carriedout on various set of images and the results are verified. From the experiment results, the sensitivity obtained is 98.10%, specificity is 96.96% and accuracy is 98.2%. These results suggest that the proposed method could be a diagnostic aid for ophthalmologists in the screening for DR.

Automatic identification and classification of microaneurysms for detection o...eSAT Journals
Abstract Headlights of vehicles pose a great danger during night driving. The drivers of most vehicles use high, bright beam while driving at night. This causes a discomfort to the person travelling from the opposite direction. He experiences a sudden glare for a short period of time. This is caused due to the high intense headlight beam from the other vehicle coming towards him from the opposite direction. We are expected to dim the headlight to avoid this glare. This glare causes a temporary blindness to a person resulting in road accidents during the night. To avoid such incidents, we have fabricated a prototype of automatic headlight dimmer. This automatically switches the high beam into low beam thus reducing the glare effect by sensing the approaching vehicle. It also eliminates the requirement of manual switching by the driver which is not done at all times. The construction, working and the advantages of this prototype model is discussed in detail in this paper. Keywords: Headlight, automatic, dimmer, control, high beam, low beam, Kelvin (K).
Diabetic retinopathy is a severe vision complication of
diabetes and it is one of the main causes of blindness all over the
world. Early detection of diabetic retinopathy is essential to cope
with this adverse effect. Microaneurysm is one of the early signs
of diabetic retinopathy. So the presence of microaneurysm
detection is a prerequisite for early diagnosis of diabetic
retinopathy. In this paper, we have proposed a simple
morphological method for the detection of microaneurysm that
uses top-hat transform. Our method can detect the faint
microaneurysm at low resolution due to contrast enhancement
and noise reduction as preprocessing. We also compare the
results of different retinopathy detection techniques.
Automatic detection of optic disc and blood vessels from retinal images using...eSAT Journals
Abstract Diabetic retinopathy is the common cause of blindness. This paper presents the mathematical morphology method to detect and eliminate the optic disc (OD) and the blood vessels. Detection of optic disc and the blood vessels are the necessary steps in the detection of diabetic retinopathy because the blood vessels and the optic disc are the normal features of the retinal image. And also, the optic disc and the exudates are the brightest portion of the image. Detection of optic disc and the blood vessels can help the ophthalmologists to detect the diseases earlier and faster. Optic disc and the blood vessels are detected and eliminated by using mathematical morphology methods such as closing, filling, morphological reconstruction and Otsu algorithm. The objective of this paper is to detect the normal features of the image. By using the result, the ophthalmologists can detect the diseases easily. Keywords: Blood vessels, Diabetic retinopathy, mathematical morphology, Otsu algorithm, optic disc (OD)

Detection and Grading of Diabetic Maculopathy Automatically in Digital Retina...paperpublications3
Abstract: Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a critical eye disease which can be regarded as manifestation of diabetes on the retina the symptoms can blur or distort the patient’s vision and are a main cause of blindness. Exudates are one of the signs of Diabetic Retinopathy. If the disease is detected early and treated promptly many of the visual loss can be prevented. This paper explains the development of an automatic fundus image processing and analytic system to facilitate diagnosis of the ophthalmologists. The algorithms to detect the optic disc; blood vessels and exudates are investigated. The proposed system extracts macula from digital retinal image using the optic disc location. Many common features such as intensity, geometric and correlations are used to distinguish between them. The system uses GLCM for feature extraction. The system uses a SVM based classifier to differentiate the retinal images in different stages of maculopathy by using the macula co-ordinates and exudates feature set.

A survey on Energy Efficient ProtocolsLEACH, Fuzzy-based approach and Neural ...IJEEE
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) plays a very important role in transmitting the data from source to destination but energy consumption is one of the major challenges in these networks. WSN consists of hundreds to thousands of nodes which consume energy while transmitting the information and with a span of time whole energy get consumed and network life time gets reduced. Clustering and Cluster head (CH) selection are important parameters used to enhance the lifetime of the WSN. Clustering use two methods: rotating CH periodically in every round to distribute the energy consumption among nodes and the node with more residual energy becomes CH.This research paper is focused on the performance of the techniques used to enhance the energy efficiency in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Low- Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH), Fuzzy- Based and Neural Network are some of the important techniques used. MATLAB simulation tool is considered in this paper.

Automated Air Cooled Three Level Inverter system using ArduinoIJEEE
The output voltage of a three level inverter is stepped voltage in which the output voltage have three possible values. Such systems can be used to interface renewable energy sources with the grid. Temperature has significant effect on performance of power MOSFETs. Typically, the MOSFETs used as power switches in such applications are a significant source of heat, and the heat energy dissipated by these components must be carefully controlled if operating temperatures are to be maintained. So for the system to work efficiently cooling of MOSFETs is required. This paper proposed an automated air cooled 3 level H-bridge inverter. The system consists of MOSFETs, LM 35 temperature sensor, Optocouplers for isolation. Arduino is used to control the on-off operation of fan. When temperature rises above certain level fan turns on to cool the MOSFETs.

An Approach to Speech and Iris based Multimodal Biometric SystemIJEEE
Biometrics is the science and technology of human identification and verification through the use of feature set extracted from the biological data of the individual to be recognized. Unimodal and Multimodal systems are the two modal systems which have been developed so far. Unimodal biometric systems use a single biometric trait but they face limitations in the system performance due to the presence of noise in data, interclass variations and spoof attacks. These problems can be resolved by using multimodal biometrics which rely on more than one biometric information to produce better recognition results. This paper presents an overview of the multimodal biometrics, various fusion levels used in them and suggests the use of iris and speech using score level fusion for a multimodal biometric system.
An Overview of EDFA Gain Flattening by Using Hybrid AmplifierIJEEE
Data communication systems are increasingly engrossing optical fiber communication system as the transmission paths for the information, the information is in the form of light pulses sending from one place to another through the optical fiber. Several types of optical amplifiers have been developed in optical fiber communication system to amplify the optical signals. The erbium doped fiber amplifier is one of the optical fiber amplifiers which are used for long distance communication. The most significant points in any optical amplifier design are gain and noise figure. They are connected to one another. The other optical amplifier, Raman amplifier has wide gain bandwidth. The EDFA gain spectrum has variations over 1536 to 1552 nm, therefore the gain flattening is a research issue in recent years with the development of high capacity DWDM. The gain variation becomes a problem as the number of channels increases. The gain of EDFA depends on large number of device parameters such as, Erbium ion concentration, amplifier length, core radius, pump power. Raman amplifiers can be combined with EDFAs to expand the optical gain flattened bandwidth. This paper focuses on different methods used for the gain flattening.

In the past few years Autonomous vehicles have gained importance due to its widespread applications in the field of civilian and military applications. On-board camera on autonomous vehicles captures the images which need to be processed in real time using the image segmentation algorithm. On board processing of video(frames)in real time is a big challenging task as it involves extracting the information and performing the required operations for navigation. This paper proposes an approach for vision based autonomous vehicle navigation in indoor environment using the designed image segmentation algorithm. The vision based navigation is applied to autonomous vehicle and it is implemented using the Raspberry Pi camera module on Raspberry Pi Model-B+ with the designed image segmentation algorithm. The image segmentation algorithm has been built using smoothing, thresholding, morpho- logical operations, and edge detection. The reference images of directions in the path are detected by the vehicle and accordingly it moves in right or left directions or stops at destination. The vehicle finds the path from source to destination using reference directions. It first captures the video, segments the video(frame by frame), finds the edges in the segmented frame and moves accordingly. The Raspberry Pi also transmits the capture video and segmented results using the Wi-Fi to the remote system for monitoring. The autonomous vehicle is also capable of finding obstacle in its path and the detection is done using the ultrasonic sensors.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Abstract: Medicines have helped to make our lives easy.
Drug industry is developing industry in terms of
production as well as consumption. Medication has
become very important in everyone’s life as we are
affected by so many diseases. But these medicines might
be defected, tablets may be broken, there may be missing
tablet in a strip and consumption of these drugs might be
dangerous. This paper shows a method in digital image
processing technique to find the defects in tablets. In this
paper we use mathematical manipulation, to detect the
defected tablet packet.
Keywords: Digital Image Processing, Morphology
opening, Preprocessing.
I. INTRODUCTION
Digital image processing techniques and algorithms are
applied on images in order to remove error. In this paper,
we use digital image processing technique to detect the
broken tablet. Such tablets are harmful to consume and
may have many side effects. The inspection process is
effective to detect the defects in tablets. Mathematical
manipulation is used to detect the defect. This is done in
Matlab10. First Image is taken and is converted into gray
and then to binary and then noise is removed. Morphology
operation is used to remove the noise. Morphology
operation is applied on binary images therefore for this
image is first converted into gray. This technique will find
the defect in those tablets which are circular in shape.
Figure 1 Different tablet packet with defect
II. METHODOLOGY
In this paper, statistical method is used that is
mathematically values are calculated.Tablet strip consists
of various shapes like circular, rectangular, ellipse. In this
paper,we have taken circular ones. We know that that
circular tablets have there particular area so if tablets are
broken they deviate from the roundness. So in this way
defect can be detected.
III. PROPOSED WORK
In this paper, statistical method is used to find the defect in
tablets. In order to find the defect, rgb image is converted
into gray and then to binary. The binary image have noise
so in order to remove noise, morphology opening is used.
Boundaries of the output is detected after pre processing.
After this process determine the roundness of tablet, find
area and perimeter of each tablet. After calculating area
and perimeter, find the metric.Metric closer to 1 indicates
that tablet is not broken or is completely round.
area = πr
Where ‘r’ is the radius of a circular tablet
perimeter=π×d
Where‘d’is the diameter of tablet
Therefore, metric=4*pi*area/perimeter^2
So,metric closer to 1 indicates that tablet is not defected.
Also no. of tablets are calculated which helps to determine
the correct figure in a tablet strip. Counting can also help to
find the pharmaceutical company. They can simply discard
the strip containing less or greater no. of tablets.
Steps:
1. Capture argb image.
2. Convert the image into grayand then to binary.
3. Remove the noise using morphology opening.
4. Make the boundaries of all tablets.
5. Label the matrix.
6. Calculate the no. of tablets in a strip.
7. Now, compute the roundness of tablets.
8. Display the result, matrix equal to 1 means the tablet is
round and is without any defect. However, matrix not equal
to 1 means tablet is defected.

V. CONCLUSION
This paper presents the application in drug industry using
different techniques in digital image processing. It is
implemented in matlab10 software. This paper mentions
statistical method for detecting the anomalies in drugs. In
this paper, defect of tablet is detected using area of a
tablet, the tablets which deviatefrom the said area is
considered as defected. We have taken the circular tablet,
however this method can also be implemented on different
shapes of tablet packet using their area. Instead
morphology operation used for noise removal, any other
method can be used. For efficient work, the time taken
should be minimum.
