Edentulous patients with facial palsy present challenges for denture stability and impression-making due to tremors, lack of coordination, unstable jaw position, and uncontrolled mandibular and tongue movement during impressions which can lead to prosthesis instability and difficulty inserting and removing dentures. Symptoms like ptosis, drooping of the mouth corner, tearing, and saliva emission on the paralyzed side make impressions more difficult without drying.

1) Occlusal disease is a deformation or disturbance of the structures within the masticatory system, including the teeth, TMJs, and muscles, that are out of equilibrium.
2) It is a common cause of tooth loss and need for restorative dentistry. It can also cause discomfort, pain, tooth sensitivity, hypermobility, and fractures.
3) Occlusal disease results from stress, friction, and corrosion on the teeth from factors like bruxism, exogenous agents like acid, and occlusal interferences that overload the teeth. It often goes undiagnosed until severe damage occurs.

Symptoms include prolonged muscle contractions starting in the jaw. While once common, tetanus remains an issue in developing countries where 800,000-1,000,000 deaths occur annually, mostly in Africa and Southeast Asia.
Anatomy of the larynx
The larynx is located between the pharynx and trachea. It contains 5 cartilages - thyroid, cricoid, epiglottis, and two arytenoids - connected by ligaments and membranes. Muscles of the larynx allow for vocalization. The larynx receives motor innervation from the external and recurrent laryngeal nerves and sensory innervation from the internal and recurrent laryngeal nerves.
