MDMA, also known as ecstasy, can induce feelings of intimacy and reduce anxiety. While it has potential therapeutic benefits, it also has dangerous side effects. A study found that MDMA-assisted psychotherapy significantly reduced symptoms of PTSD in patients who had not benefited from other treatments. However, MDMA use carries risks of overdose and long-term neurotoxicity. More research is still needed to fully understand the risks and potential medical applications of MDMA.
