4. Ecological Literacy
(also referred to as eco-literacy)
is the ability to understand
the natural systems that
make life on Earth possible.
It is understanding the principles
that govern the ecosystems
making sustainable human
communities possible
According to an American
physicist, Fritjof Capra, the
survival of humanity will depend
on our ecological literacy, that is,
our ability to understand
ecology’s basic principles and to
live accordingly.

5. How to be an eco-literate person:
 To be eco-literate means understanding the principles of
organization of ecological communities and using those principles
for creating sustainable human communities. The term
was coined by American educator David W. Orr and
physicist Fritjof Capra in the 1990s – thereby a new value entered
education; the "well-being of the earth".
 An ecologically literate society would be a sustainable society that
did not destroy the natural environment on which they depend.

these circumstances. We can turn

about the importance of reducing waste
and properly disposing of trash. By

environmental and social impacts of
littering and become more motivated to
take action to reduce waste in their daily
lives. Clean-up drives are a great way to
get involved in the community and make
a positive impact on the environment.
They provide a tangible way to see the
impact of our actions and can be a
rewarding experience for everyone
involved.

14. Nature Walk
Nature walks are an excellent way to
observe the natural world and the
importance of preserving it. It can
help us develop an appreciation for
the environment and learn about the
ecosystems that support life on
earth. Nature walks help us develop a
deeper connection with nature and
understand their role in protecting
the environment. It can also promote
physical activity and wellness, as
well as inspire in taking action to
address environmental issues.

Creating a garden is an excellent way to
teach us about plants and their importance
in the ecosystem. It can also help us learn
practical skills, such as how to care for
plants and the benefits of growing our own
food.

Sustainability challenges can help us
develop habits that promote
sustainability and reduce their
environmental impact. Assigning this
challenge encourages sustainable
practices, such as reducing energy
consumption, using less plastic, or
adopting sustainable transportation
