PLA is a biodegradable fiber made from renewable resources like corn. It has properties similar to cotton and silk like good drape, resilience, and moisture wicking. PLA can be used to make clothing, packaging, and other products. Unlike fossil fuel-based polymers, PLA utilizes annually renewable resources and can reduce the impact on global warming through the carbon cycle. PLA fully biodegrades in compost conditions and municipal composting facilities within 2 years. PLA is seen as an eco-friendly alternative to conventional textiles and packaging.
