DECALOUGE
Spring is the time of joy.
The sun appears from
behind the clouds.
Snow melts down.
Nature comes to life.
Birds build their nests.
The buds appear on the trees.
Spring flowers begin
to appear too…
and rubbish as well.
This is what we can see
in our neighborhood.
Show your culture

1. Recycle the rubbish!
Everyone produces about
300 kg of rubbish a year!
What is ‘recycling’?
Recycling is reusing once used materials
to make new things in order to reduce
the amount of waste and to protect the nature.
What can we throw into
each bin?
Glass – a green bin!
Here we throw:
jars,
glass bottles,
glass containers
for cosmetics.
Paper – a blue bin!
Here we throw:
old newspapers,
cardboard,
books,
notebooks,
paper bags.
Metal – a black bin!
Here we throw:
cans and tins,
metal caps,
metal scrap.
Plastic – a yellow bin!
Here we throw:
plastic bottles,
plastic caps,
yoghurt pots,
plastic dishes.
Biowaste – a brown bin!
Here we throw:
o tree branches
o leaves,
o food waste.
What is a composter for?
Composting is another
way for reducing
the amount of waste.
We can compost all
the organic remains.
2. Don’t waste paper!
To make one ton of paper
we need to cut down
17 trees.
Why are the trees important
in every human life?
They produce oxygen.
They influence on cleaning
the air from dust and pollution.
They protect us from dangerous
microorganisms and reduce
electricity in the atmospere.
An interesting fact!
Every year
one tree
produces
oxygen
for 10 people.
Don’t waste paper,
don’t waste oxygen!
3. Don’t travel by car alone!
Go for shopping by bike!
Try to walk more often!
Use public transport!
How long does a plastic bag
decompose?
About 450 years.
4. Don’t buy disposable
plastic bags!
Avoid packing your shopping
in those plastic bags!
If you go shopping,
always take your
own bag made
of cloth!
5. Don’t leave your stereo, TV
or computer on stand-by.
When you turn off your computer,
remember to pull the plug
out of the socket!
6. Don’t throw your toys
or clothes away!
You can throw them
to the special container…
… or give them to others.
7. Turn off the light,
when you are the last
to leave the room.
8. Bring your sandwiches
in your lunchbox!
9. Used batteries and e-waste
take to the special place
where they are collected!
10. Don’t litter in forests,
parks and by the lakes!
A chewing gum decomposes
about 5 years.
An aluminium can
decomposes about 100 years..
A glass bottle decomposes
about 4000 years.
Paper and cardboard
decompose
from 3 to 5 months.
A plastic bottle decomposes
about 800 years.
