3. • Electronic business, commonly referred to as
"eBusiness" or "e-business", or an internet
business, may be defined as the application of
information and communication technologies (ICT) in
support of all the activities of business. Commerce
constitutes the exchange of products and services
between businesses, groups and individuals and can be
seen as one of the essential activities of any business.
Electronic commerce focuses on the use of ICT to
enable the external activities and relationships of the
business with individuals, groups and other businesses.

people into two opposite camps.In the one
camp, there are those who see danger
everywhere. In the other camp, there are those
who argue that there is absolutely no
crime, mischief or other evil perpetrated via the
internet, that wasn't already possible before, so
what's the big problem?
• One camp is perceived as paranoid
luddites, while the other camp is perceived as
naive technophiles.

• The term outsourcing is used inconsistently but
usually involves the contracting out of a business
function - commonly one previously performed
in-house - to an external provider. In this

a contractual agreement involving
an exchange of services and payments.The
concept of outsourcing thereby helps the firms to
perform well in their core competencies and thus
mitigating rise of skill or expertise shortage in the
areas where they want to outsource.
