This document introduces an Excel-based planning workbench called EBS Plan ViewerTM that aims to address limitations of traditional planning systems by leveraging the flexibility of Excel. It connects directly to Oracle Advanced Planning databases to provide planners configurable KPI reports, multi-level slicing and dicing capabilities, and 12 pre-built planner reports without preprocessing. Early feedback from planners found the easy horizontal planning, access through Excel, inclusion of dollar values, and critical path analysis to be most useful features. Implementation is targeted to take less than a week.
