order Mononegavirales
 Bundibugyo virus (BDBV)
 Sudan virus (SUDV)
 Taï Forest virus (TAFV)
 Ebola virus (EBOV, formerly Zaire Ebola virus))
CONT.....
 Bushmeat being prepared for cooking in Ghana,
2013 Human consumption of equatorial animals in
Africa in the form of bushmeat has been linked to
the transmission of diseases to people, including
Ebola.

)
19 kilobase pairs long
seven genes in the order
3'-UTR-NP-VP35-VP40-GP-VP30-VP24-L-5'-UTR.
STRUCTURE
 Filamentous particles
 The shape of a shepherd's crook or in the shape of
a "U" or a "6", and they may be coiled, toroid, or
branched.
 80 nm in width
 length of ebolaviruses ranges from 974 to
1,086 nm
SYMPTOMS
 Fever, sore throat, muscle pain and headaches.
 Typically, vomiting, diarrhea and rash follow, along
with decreased functioning of the liver and kidneys.
 Begin to bleed both within the body and externally.

 sore throat, chest pain, hiccups, shortness of
breath and trouble swallowing
 Incubation period:
 8 to 10 days
 vary between 2 and 21 days.
 Skin manifestations:
 maculopapular rash (in about 50% of cases).
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
TRANSMISSION
 It then spreads between humans by direct contact
