This document discusses arguments for and against vegetarianism from an Islamic perspective. It notes that while the Quran permits Muslims to eat meat, it is not compulsory, and one can be a good Muslim while being vegetarian. It also discusses how Hindu scriptures like the Manu Smriti permit meat consumption, though many Hindus adopted vegetarianism due to other religious influences. The document argues that a purely vegetarian diet may not eliminate taking life altogether since plants are alive as well and can feel pain, and concludes that humans are anatomically suited to eat both plants and animals.
Every patriotic Indian, should know about the inhumane cruelty meted out towards our citizens, by the dirty, cruel British deceivers. They tortured and killed thousands of our brave men, inside Cellular Jail, which today, stands as epitaph of one of the worst indignities the cruel British, inflicted upon India and its gallant freedom fighters. This is my humble attempt to bring this monument, to the attention of this world.

Independence Day is not just a date on the calendar; it is a symbol of the strength of our unity, the resilience of our spirit, and the unwavering commitment to the ideals upon which our nation was founded. It is a day to remember and honor the courage of our freedom fighters, who faced immense odds and stood up against tyranny, injustice, and colonial rule. Their sacrifices remind us that the path to independence is often paved with challenges and hardships, but it is a path worth treading, for the sake of future generations. It is a reminder that we must remain vigilant in protecting our sovereignty and working towards the betterment of our society. We must strive to create a nation where every citizen can enjoy the fruits of development, where justice and equality prevail, and where the voices of all individuals are heard and respected.

Few of the Great Freedom Fighters
Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhiji's life was dedicated to the ideals of Truth, Non- violence and Love. He was the architect of India's freedom and a leader in a complex struggle, the Indian campaign for home rule. Following World War I, in which he played an active part in recruiting campaigns, Gandhi, again advocating Satyagraha, launched his movement of non-violent resistance to Great Britain. He lived a spiritual and ascetic life of prayer, fasting, and meditation.
Chandrashekhar Azad, often called, Panditji was a revolutionary. After the Indian Rebellion of 1857, he was the first among many Indian revolutionaries to use arms in their fight for independence against the British rulers. A devout Brahmin, he believed that it was his "dharma" (duty) to fight for others. He also believed that a soldier never relinquishes his weapon. Azad was deeply troubled by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919
Bhagat Singh
The name of Bhagat Singh is synonymous with sacrifice, courage, bravery and vision. By sacrificing his life just at the age of 30 Bhagat Singh became an inspiration and symbol of the heroism. Along with other revolutionaries, Bhagat Singh founded the Hindustan Socialist republican Association. To warn the British government of its misdeeds, Bhagat Singh threw a bomb in the Central Legislative Assembly.
Subhas Chandra Bose
Known as Netaji (leader), S C Bose was a fierce freedom fighter and a popular leader on the political horizon in pre-independence India. Bose was elected the President of the Indian National Congress in the year 1937 and 1939. He founded the Indian National Army and raised the slogan- "Delhi Chalo" and "Tum Mujhe Khoon Do main Tumhe Ajadi Doonga".
Bal Gangadhar Tilak
Bal Gangadhar Tilak was one of the firebrand freedom fighters of India. He gave the slogan- "Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it". To serve the cause of freedom and countrymen Tilak founded schools and published newspapers. Tilak was famous as one of the trios- Bal, Pal and Lal. People loved him and accepted him as their leaders and so he was called Lokmanya Tilak.
His brave deeds earned Vallabhbhai Patel the title of the iron man of India. For his role in the Bardoli Satyagraha, Patel came to be called the Sardar. Sardar Patel was a famous lawyer but gave up his practice in order to fight for the freedom of the country. After independence he became the deputy PM of India and played an important role the integration of India by merging

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

presentation. Further the presentation aims at providing
information and doesn’t intend hurting any community or
individual believes and feelings.
3.
4. ‘Vegetarianism’ is now a movement the world over. Many even associate it with
animal rights. Indeed, a large number of people consider the consumption of
meat and other non-vegetarian products to be a violation of animal rights.
5.
6.
7. Let us look at various other aspects of this argument.
A Muslim can be a pure vegetarian
A Muslim can be a very good Muslim despite
being a pure vegetarian. It is not compulsory
for a Muslim to have non-vegetarian food.
8. The Qur’an, however permits a Muslim to have
non-vegetarian food. The following Qur’anic verses
are proof of this fact:
"O ye who believe! Fulfill (all) obligations. Lawful unto
you (for food) are all four-footed animals with the
exceptions named."
[Al-Qur’an 5:1]
"And cattle He has created for you (men): from them
Ye derive warmth, and numerous benefits, And of
their (meat) ye eat."
[Al-Qur’an 16:5]
"And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example:
From within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to
drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other)
benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat."
[Al-Qur’an 23:21]
10. There are many Hindus who are strictly vegetarian. They think it is
against their religion to consume non-vegetarian food. But the true
fact is that the Hindu scriptures permit a person to have meat. The
scriptures mention Hindu sages and saints consuming nonvegetarian food.
11. It is mentioned in Manu Smruti, the law book of Hindus, in
chapter 5 verse 30
"The eater who eats the flesh of those to be eaten does nothing
bad, even if he does it day after day, for God himself created
some to be eaten and some to be eater."
Again next verse of Manu Smruti, that is, chapter 5 verse 31 says
"Eating meat is right for the sacrifice, this is traditionally known as a rule of the gods."
Further in Manu Smruti chapter 5 verse 39 and 40 says
"God himself created sacrificial animals for sacrifice, ...., therefore killing in a
sacrifice is not killing."
12. Mahabharata Anushashan Parva chapter 88 narrates the discussion between
Dharmaraj Yudhishthira and Pitamah Bhishma about what food one should
offer to Pitris (ancestors) during the Shraddha (ceremony of dead) to keep
them satisfied. Paragraph reads as follows:
So but natural if you want to keep your
ancestors satisfied forever, you should
serve them the meat of red goat.
13. Though Hindu Scriptures permit its followers to have non-vegetarian food,
many Hindus adopted the vegetarian system because they were influenced by
other religions like Jainism.
Certain religions have adopted pure vegetarianism as a dietary law because
they are totally against the killing of living creatures. If a person can survive
without killing any living creature, I would be the first person to adopt such a way
of life.
14. Even plants have life.
In the past people thought plants were lifeless. Today
it is a universal fact that even plants have life. Thus
their logic of not killing living creatures is not fulfilled
even by being a pure vegetarian.
They further argue that plants cannot feel pain,
therefore killing a plant is a lesser crime as
compared to killing an animal. Today science tells
us that even plants can feel pain.
15. There was research done by a farmer in
U.S.A. who invented an instrument
which converted the cry of the plant so
that it could be heard by human beings.
He was able to realize immediately
when the plant itself cried for water.
Latest researches show that the plants
can even feel happy and sad. It can also
cry.
16. This is due to the inability of the human ear to hear sounds that are not in the
audible range i.e. 20 Hertz to 20,000 Hertz. Anything below and above this
range cannot be heard by a human being.
A dog can hear up to 40,000 Hertz.
Thus there are silent dog whistles that
have a frequency of more than 20,000
Hertz and less than 40,000 Hertz.
These whistles are only heard by dogs
and not by human beings. The dog
recognizes the masters whistle and
comes to the master.
17. Killing a living creature with two senses
less is not a lesser crime
Once a vegetarian argued his case by
saying that plants only have two or three
senses while the animals have five senses.
Therefore killing a plant is a lesser crime
than killing an animal.
Suppose your brother is born deaf and dumb and has two senses less as
compared to other human beings. He becomes mature and someone murders
him. Would you ask the judge to give the murderer a lesser punishment because
your brother has two senses less? In fact you would say that he has killed a
masoom, an innocent person, and the judge should give the murderer a greater
punishment.
18. If every human being was a vegetarian, it would lead to overpopulation of
cattle in the world, since their reproduction and multiplication is very swift.
God in His Divine Wisdom knows how to maintain the balance of His
creation appropriately. No wonder He has permitted us to have the meat
of the cattle.
19. Cost of meat is
reasonable since all
aren’t non-vegetarians
Do not mind if some people are pure vegetarians. However they should not
condemn non-vegetarians as ruthless. In fact if all Indians become nonvegetarians then the present non-vegetarians would be losers since the
prices of meat would rise.
20. If you observe the teeth of herbivorous animals like the cow, goat and sheep, you
will find something strikingly similar in all of them. All these animals have a set of
flat teeth i.e. suited for herbivorous diet.
21. If you observe the set of teeth of the carnivorous animals
like the lion, tiger, or leopard, they all have a set of
pointed teeth i.e. suited for a carnivorous diet.
22. If you analyze the set of teeth of
humans, you find that they have flat
teeth as well as pointed teeth. Thus
they have teeth suited for both
herbivorous as well as carnivorous
food i.e. they are omnivorous..
23. One may ask, if Almighty God wanted humans to
have only vegetables, why did He provide us
also with pointed teeth? It is logical that He
expected us to need and to have both vegetarian as
well as non-vegetarian food
24. The digestive system of herbivorous animals can digest only
vegetables. The digestive system of carnivorous animals can
digest only meat.
25. But the digestive system of humans can
digest both vegetarian and non-vegetarian
food. If Almighty God wanted us to have
only vegetables then why did He give us a
digestive system that can digest both
vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian
food?
26. Meat is nutritious and rich in complete protein
Non-vegetarian food is a good source of
excellent protein. It contains biologically
complete protein i.e. all the 8 essential
amino acid that are not synthesized by the
body and should be supplied in the diet.
Meat also contains iron, vitamin B1 and
niacin.
27. God has created the earth and its wondrous flora and fauna for the benefit of
mankind. It is up to mankind to use every resource in this world judiciously, as
a Divine blessing and trust from God.
