Easter

The Easter dove is a very
complicated dessert to prepare
and it has a long preparation. The
origin of this cake is linked to
many legends, one of which is
placed in the first half of the sixth
century: during the siege of Pavia
by King Alboino, the same was
seen offered by an old merchant a
sweet shaped like a dove as a sign
of peace.

The first to consume lamb’s meat
were the Jews who used to eat it
during the Pesach.

Romagna Easter Loaf The recipe for the Romagna
Easter loaf is typical of the
Easter period. A very soft, not
very sweet brioche, enriched
with raisins. The loaf is usually
prepared during Holy Week and
is served for Easter breakfast.
Being a not very sweet brioche,
it is often used not only for
sweet breakfasts but also as an
accompaniment to meats and
cheeses. The Romagna loaf is
therefore used as if it were an
Easter bread.
Easter egg
The egg, for all ancient cultures, had an enormous
symbolic value: it was the symbol of life and
rebirth.
The origins of the chocolate egg can be traced back
to King Sole, Louis XIV.
At the end of the 19th century, the Anglo-Saxon
confectionery company Cadbury decided to link
chocolate to the tradition of Easter eggs: so the
first chocolate easter egg with a surprise inside was
born.
It is tradition to organise the Easter treasure hunts,
in which the eggs, prepared by hand and small, are
hidden in green areas and then found by children.
