Photo Essay: Where We Live Affects How We
Live

2. On a bright and sunny day on October 1st
, we went to place where I’d
never in a million years would have thought to go. We went to our very
own 3 minutes away neighborhood. I enjoyed my time there for I learned
about other lives. Once I would have thought, how would these people been
even have a smile on their place when their houses and so small and
where they have to use a public bathroom? Questions like those would have
risen in my head but now, I would have done almost anything to have
taken that back. Our neighborhood is a place that you can go anytime and
not feel out of place. There are people that doesn’t care about where you
come from or what you look like but care about your happiness and where
you can sit down and practically talk about anything. We are so lucky to
have even the privilege to call those people our next door neighbors.

3. Tea shops are very popular in Burma. They serve tea and small snacks for people that
comes by.

4. This is a lady who is
cooking up something for
lunch. In the first pan,
she’s cooking up onions
(the usual basic for most
traditional Burmese food)
for the sauce.

5. Traditional Burmese food includes rice and curry and ‘nge pe’. That is a very
stinky fish sauce that Burmese people eat with rice all the time.

6. When Burmese people are not working they like to play games. A board
game is a perfect way to spend their time and to enhance their brain
abilities.

7. Some people are not able to afford transportation as in cars or buses. Instead
they use trishaws.

8. Burmese are known for their
generosity; Monks often come by
and when they do, the people give
rice to the monks for their food.

9. Family is a very important part of a person’s life. They are there because everyone needs
help, support, and love and they will stand by you forever.
