The MSME sector need to do a lot about women safety as the same has always been a concept sweeped under the carpet.

It protects classes such as race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, familial status, marital status, gender identity and sexual orientation. Nearly 80 million people were under alerts in the US north-east and midwest yesterday as temperatures in some municipalities reached record highs in a test to the country’s rickety power grid.

Despite sanctions on its economy, the Kremlin continues to be an unrivalled exporter of nuclear power plants, building more than half of all reactors under construction globally. Today’s Energy Source dives into the latest Statistical Review of World Energy, the industry’s annual stocktake of global energy consumption. The report was published for more than 70 years by BP before it was passed over to the Energy Institute last year. The oil major remains a contributor.

New report offers sobering view of the energy transition
Every year the Statistical Review of World Energy offers a behemoth of data on the state of the global energy market. This year’s findings highlight the world’s insatiable demand for energy and the need to speed up the pace of decarbonisation.
Here are our four main takeaways from this year’s report:
Fossil fuel consumption — and emissions — are at record highs
Countries burnt record amounts of oil and coal last year, sending global fossil fuel consumption and emissions to all-time highs, the Energy Institute reported. Oil demand grew 2.6 per cent, surpassing 100mn barrels per day for the first time.
Meanwhile, the share of fossil fuels in the energy mix declined slightly by half a percentage point, but still made up more than 81 per cent of consumption.

- 2. Area of Jurisdiction EMPLOYMENT: Public and private employers, labor organizations, employment agencies and public contracts are covered. Must have a minimum of four (4) employees and be located within the city limits. HOUSING: Covers rental, sales, evictions, fi- nancing, terms and conditions. Property must be located within the city limits and the owner must have a minimum of four (4) units. PUBLIC ACCOMODATIONS: Hotels, restau- rants, bars, swimming pools, public transporta- tion, stores, places of amusement and recrea- tion, government institutions or agencies are covered. Must offer goods and services within the city limits. Who may File a complaint? Any person who believes that they have been subjected to discrimination because of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, disability, familial status, ancestry, age, sexual orientation and gender identity in violation of Chapter 13 of the City Code at no cost to the individual. Can I be punished for filing a complaint? The law gives you protection in the event that anyone attempts to retaliate against you for filing a complaint with the Human Relations Department. When should I file a complaint? You should file your complaint as soon as you have reason to believe that someone has discrimi- nated against you. Housing complaints should be filed within 100 days and employment and public accommodation within 180 days. How do I file a complaint? To file a complaint, you may: • Come to our office Room 101 of the City- County Building. • Call our office at 785-309-5745 • Write a letter to the Salina Human Relations Department at 300 W. Ash, Salina, KS. (Include all contact information so that we may reach you to begin the process.) Salina Ordinance Chapter 13 Prohibits Discrimination in Employment, Housing and Public Accommodations Enforcement The Department/Commission is responsible for civil rights enforcement. As a civil rights agency, the Human Relations Department/ Commission will investigate all complaints of discrimination. It will enforce Chapter 13 of the City Ordinance, which prohibits discrimi- nation in employment, housing and public accommodations. The goal of the Department is to conduct a thorough and objective investigation and to assume an impartial role throughout the in- vestigation. If the Commission finds that you have been subject to unlawful discrimination, it can or- der: • Correction of discriminatory practice. • Relief for actual and punitive damages incurred as a result of the discriminatory practices. • Reports on the manner of compliance with the law.
