Christopher’s Early Childhood He really enjoyed the ocean. Christopher helped his father weave. He taught himself to read Latin and write Castilian.
Christopher’s Family Life Christopher wanted to be a knight, an admiral, a governor, and a general. The king and queen agreed to give him ships but he demanded more. He brought his 13 year old son on his 4th voyage.
His Accomplishments He was granted 3 ships the Pinta, the Nina, and Santa Maria. He helped colonize Hispaniola. Christopher found Indians smoking tobacco.
His Explorations/Discoveries Christopher landed on the coast of South America. He founded the West Indies and Central America. Plus he also founded Bahamas, Cuba, and Haiti.
Christopher’s Problems Encountered The King and Queen weren’t every happy after the Pinta left. Christopher was arrested and his brothers were arrested as well. The new governor of the land he got ignored Christopher’s warning.
The Date, Place, and Cause of Death of Christopher Columbus Christopher died May 20, 1506. He died by Reiter’s Syndrome. He died in Valladolid, Spain.
