Biography of David Livingstone David Livingstone was born on 19 th  March, 1813. David Livingstone was sent on a mission to Africa to study their religions. But he got fired from the job when he suggested  getting rid of slaves. So he went searching for land people hadn’t explor ed  when he was 28 years old. He married Mary Moffat  Lake  Victoria . He died in 1873 and was sent to England and buried in Westminster. He was also famous  for adding 1,000,000 square miles onto the map of Africa.  Today, people can go a lot  further into Africa and not get lost as much as people did before David Livingstone went to Africa.  5
